Had a break down in Livingston Louisiana with one of my units. I have been working with the owner Gary to get this unit repaired over the last week due to a dealer repair that had a bad installation on a rear end costing me a lot of money. All I have to say is that Gary and his team already have us fixed and the owner Gary is very much truly a man of his word. Words can’t describe how much respect he has earned with us. Where do I start with this one...Big Wheel, Inc is where you want to take your Commercial Vehicle if you are ever in need in Hammond, LA. I ran into a major problem that I panicked on very fast. My company was transporting a load and a simple careless mistake happed at the Pilot around the corner. My husband pumped DEF into the Diesel tank. We made calls around for a towing company and Big Wheel was by far the most inexpensive. Melvin took great care of our vehicle in a quick and timely manner. He was very professional and assured us the situation would be handled with care. At 8am once the doors opened Terry greeted us and got us checked in. Terry was extremely polite and helpful and also assured us that they would get someone on it as soon as they could. The place was swamped with vehicles. I spoke with the owner Gary (my now BFF) and explained my situation, he was very straight forward and informed me that he could not give me an exact time frame, but he was thinking the following morning that my vehicle would be ready. I am a new business owner and was sitting on a load that needed to be there the same morning that Gary had quoted me to be ready. Tears began to fall because I did not want to be late on this load. Gary told me that he would see what he could do, but he couldnt make me any promises. Not only did Gary and his Team deliver, they got my baby back up and running that same day. I was so relieved. Had a load shift inside my Conestoga trailer at the Home Depot DC. Melvin brought the forklift out and was able to fix my load without any damages. Very respectful, calm and religious young man. I was driving an RV cross country when I ran into some brake issues. Not only did Cody help me after hours, he found and fixed the problem that night, also showing me the problem first person, and provided great customer service. He even offered to check the oil. I took my 2016 peterbilt 579 to them for a 3 axle alignment a couple of weeks ago.i have to say this first before I continue, before I took it to them while driving when I hit a bump or bad patch of road I would grab the steering so firm my hands would hurt to stay on the road and was really nervous when it rained I didnt feel in control,but after taking it to them i was a little uneasy on takeing it there,as Im very picky on whom work on my truck.But Im so glad I did, after being on the road for a few weeks hitting all kinds of bumps and driving on bad roads my truck have not driven so good since I bought it. The mechanic who did all the work on it gets a huge thumbs 👍. You did a fantastic job.

Truck broke down @ the Petro Truck Stop, made the call to get towed to the shop, Gary(owner) told me he would do his best to get in a day or two, in shop the next morning, found the problem. Cody(mechanic) GREAT! SHARP! explain everything to me and made suggestions, issue fixed and some other repairs were made to my truck. Gary kept me informed the whole time and pricing was reasonable. Terry, Stephanie and the whole office staff was nice and friendly. Clean shop and organize. Gary runs a tight ship over there!!! Will go back there again to get other items fixed.Happy with the Service and Price!

I had a code on my truck and took it to a shop in Virginia took them 6hours and couldnt figure it out said the 559 code were too difficult to diagnose. So I was forced to continue driving it the way it was. I had no power and even empty it wouldnt go passed 50mph. So I called Big wheel and spoke to Cody he said being it in. Not only did he diagnose it but explained every step he was doing . This guy knows what hes doing .. no guessing at all . Take my word dont waste your time going anywhere else. This is the place. Very hard working mechanics . And ask for Cody . You wont be disappointed.

Cody is the Best!!!! We were stranded in our motorhome in the parking lot on a Christmas holiday when everyone was closed expecting to stay there until Monday until they reopened. Cody just happened to stop by the shop and he found the problem within minutes. He fixed the problem and we were able to finish our holiday trip to Daytona Beach. Came out at 1030 pm no quotations asked. Showed up with the right truck for the job and was super nice, friendly, easy to get along with. Towed my work truck about 50 miles and got it there safe in sound. Reliable and way cheaper than most tow companies out there. They will have my buisness from here on out (and weve got a few tricks so we need a tow regularly)

We rented a RV in Tampa Florida, the generator died on us. We called them and were told they were busy, but would squeeze us in. Lucas was the mechanic that worked on it. He stayed after closing, worked on it for several hours. They kept us updated, were extremely polite and helpful. They saved our family roadtrip!

I needed to have an alignment done on my 2015 Entegra Anthem and I chose Big Wheel because they were an authorized Spartan service shop and the good reviews. I was not disappointed. Gary kept me informed during the entire process while working on my motor home. Their prices are very reasonable and I am very pleased with their work. I am a happy camper and plan to use them in the future for any of my Spartan chassis needs. I would highly recommend them.

If your looking for a real mechanic DO NOT CALL THIS PEOPLE ...... I had a truck broke down losing air I told the mechanic it was a bad chamber or air valve they went check it out and didn’t find nothing wrong with the chamber and charge me 300.00 for an old valve not even NEW I had to drive over 700 miles to fix my truck. It was a bad chamber I forgive it out in 10 minutes they shouldn’t even be a 1 star terrible

Went in a few years back, and just needed to go in again. Scott helped me build out my 60 series Detroit engine the few years ago, and when I went in again I made sure he was the one I went to. Very to the point, and is the best at Big Wheel in my opinion. Glad he could find out what was wrong, troubleshoot the issue and keep me informed on what was going on. Very good person to work with, and if any of you happen to go there see Scott. Im recommending Big Wheel and him to any of my friends in the local area.

Very impressed. They agreed to stay past closing time so i could pay my tow bill and get my truck out the salvage yard. They were super helpful and very nice. Nancy was a huge help.Also i cannot thank Houston enough!! That is a great man. He stayed on his own time to help me load my truck and get it safely loaded onto the trailer i had. Could not have done it without him. One of the nicest men i have ever met. I got put in an unfortunate situation and this company did what they coukd to help.

Didnt have any wire to install inverter

I’ll start by saying the office staff was friendly. The manager/ owner is a crook. I took my 43’ rv in for a front end alignment and to change my fuel filter that sits right in the side door, very easy to get to. A week later I get a phone call stating he couldn’t do my alignment because he didn’t have the right equipment code for my RV. He still charged me $241.61. I still can’t believe it.So I called Spartan chassis’s they recommended S&H in Hammond. I personally asked the owner if he knew of S&H, but he denied it. S&H is only a few miles from him. Please don’t take your RV are Truck there. You will regret if you do.

$426 to replace a brake chamber on my trailer??Seems kind of expensive to me. Probably you should call around, get it done for about half that.Plus, took him over an hour to show up, more than an hour to replace the brake chamber, and he seemed mad about something.

RV wouldnt start 600 milea from home and these guys saved the day! They came to us, diagnosed the problem, and got us fixed up! No tow required! Such professional service.

Never see the thieves like these people, our trailer was broken at TA, front rear axle was damaged, they give our driver quote for $45/ hour and 200 for service call. They just removed the wheel and secured the front axle with chains, total job was for 4 hours. Instead of that they charged us total $600 plus $270 only for giving repair estimate and charges $900 to swap the 30 skids from one trailer to another Total charge was $1895. Luckly we did not decide to get fixed our trailer from them. They give the quote for $6900. The job was done from outside only for $3000.BEWARE CARRIERS AND DRIVER BEFORE CALLING THEMAnd Bigwheels please don,t REPLY TO THIS REVIEW AND SAY THAT WE DOT KNOW you.

What great shop! I was under a load when my front brake froze and overheated. Limped in to Big Wheel around 11am. They got right on it, was out the door by 3:30. Replaced caliper and hardware, test drove it. All good. EXTREMELY WELL RUN SHOP! Ladies up front very friendly and understanding. Cant say enough good things about this place.

Big Wheel kept my RV for almost a month before giving me an estimate, and then gave me an outrageously inflated cost for repair. I took the RV to another mechanic and was informed that items Big Wheel wanted to replace were not in need of repair. I strongly recommend not going to Big Wheel.

The biggest thieves in Hammond, Louisiana.My truck had a flat tire. I called them for service and told me they will charge me $141 total to change it because I had the spare. After work I was charged $165 . when I called them and complaint about the extra charge, they said that mechanic had to come back to shop so they charge me $10 (he wasnt prepare to do his job so I had to pay for it) other charges was 13% tax(She never told me that tax wasnt included on $141) when the tax is 9% in Louisiana. DO NOT USE the services of these thieves or they will leave your pockets empty. I had to give them one star in order to publish this review, but dont deserve it

Gary and his staff did an awesome job replacing all the tires on our 5th wheel. I would recommend his services to anyone. Right off I-10 and 55. Quick, efficient and reasonable service. Traveling just outside of Hammond, LA we had a blow out on our 35 foot 5th wheel. Found out we had super bad tires that came with the RV and blew out at 2200 miles. Big wheel handles large rigs no problem. Got our RV right inside the bay and replaced the tires while we waited.

My fifth wheel broke and I was 1200 miles from home unable to recouple the trailer. Within two hours I was out the door on the way to my next load. Very professional and polite people.

My husband and I were stranded with our 5th wheel on our way to a job site in AZ due to broken leaf springs. Big Wheel was the only company that would come out the same day we called and serviced us in the parking lot we were stuck in. My only complaint is that they did not give us enough notice that they were having trouble getting our insurer on the line and so by the time we knew to call and check for them, the staff for our insurer had left for the evening. Because we needed an immediate fix we had to pay the total out of pocket which was costly. Well be reimbursed, but it would have been much better if we could have settled it with our insurer so they could pay Big Wheel directly; especially since we really needed to replace our tires as well due to damage after the broken springs, but could not afford them paying out of pocket.

They were helpful when I had to get my car back

Prior to leaving for a 2 week trip to Florida in our RV, we had Big Wheel service our motorhome. They checked the oil, greased fittings and replaced the seal on the driver-side Tag Axles. One day into our trip the driver-side Tag Axle seal began leaking oil. Upon our inspection, we discovered the hub window had overheated and melted spilling the oil. We contacted our Insurance Company who directed to a road side service company. The road side service mechanic that the wheel bearings were tightened too tightly causing the bearings to over heat and melt. We notified Big Wheel prior to the service that we had issues and that our Insurance Company directed us to road side service. We were told by Big Wheel to have the road side service company send them a copy of our Invoice for the repairs. We brought the Invoice and replaced parts to Big Wheel as requested. Since then, we have visited Big Wheel several times to get reimbursed for our road side service expense. After 3 trips to Big Wheel, with no reason as to why, they are refusing to reimburse our Invoice expense. They will not stand behind their repairs and we will not recommend them to anyone for repairs! Be careful when dealing with this company. And we only gave 1 Star because it was the only way we could write this review.

Crooks! Feel like getting scammed for Christmas? deal with this crewThey deployed the airbag on our truck and destroyed the taillight and said that it was totaled.According to the Louisiana State Police Report, none of that happened when the truck was wrecked.The first thing they asked us when we arrived at the yard was, Do you have a clear title and when the airbag is deployed, the state police automatically total it It was not deployed or the light and other parts were not destroyed in the wreck, State Police report available on line. They told us one price and then upped it when we got there. A business owner told us that they would not let us get our truck and he was right! Out and out blatant lies were told to us!!! Push your vehicle to the next town rather than go here.

We broke down near Hammond La with a broken water pump in our Class A RV which cost $265,000.00 new, We went to Big Wheel who kept our RV for 5 day and charged us almost $4000.00 for repairs. They not only did not put all the parts back on the RV, they sent the parts back to me so I could put them back on. They also put many of the wrong parts on the RV which we were not aware of until we barely made it back to our home in Illinois and got a qualified mechanic to replace the wrong parts with the right ones.. To make things worse they got oil all over bedroom floor, bedspread and even our cloths in the closet.. When contacting them they said it was all under warranty and they would make it right. After a year of their lies and a court case which I got a judgment against them they still refuse to make it right. Be very careful when dealing with this company. Not only do they do bad work they will charge you 3 times the price for parts that dont belong on your RV. This is a summary of what happened, for more details please feel free to contact me.

8/21/2019the shop will get you back on the road but they will overcharge you, I called for a problem with my brake valve and they charge me $564.49 for a dash brake valve and without consult me they replace the air dryer and charge $1165.16 .the highest price for the dash brake valve $299.95the highest price for the air dryer $644.42plus$45.00 part delivery$12.00 shop supply$250.00 labor$72.98 handling fee$210.04 tax (9.45%)in total i end up paying $2505.67and when i got back home has to take the truck to my mechanic cause the air dryer was leaking airdid not like that i was asking how much it was and the staff keep on saying dont know yetwont recommend it unless there is no more option but be prepared to be overcharged and to spend the whole day
