I dropped my very precious wedding ring off at Helzberg for some much needed maintenance. In the last 20 years I NEVER trusted anyone enough to leave it overnight anywhere and surely not for 2 weeks! My ring is over 20 years old, so imagine all the work it needed. I have to say, I was impressed with Ilsa- (the associate who sat with me while I was nearly in tears, viewing my destroyed ring under the scope). She reassured me I was leaving it in good hands, and promised me it would look brand new upon picking it up. I have to say I am impressed with the Jeweler Joe...My ring looks STUNNING again. He did a beautiful job. What great customer service. I will not hesitate to leave it again. I would also like to give a shout out to Ilsa for sharing with me the appraisers on site every few months. That makes it easier knowing I dont to send it out for an updated estimate. Thanks again!
We bought all of our jewelry from Helzberg… Loved the customer service. Recently had problems with a necklace that had a lifetime warranty. We dropped it off A few weeks ago. My husband picked it up today… He said the customer service the last two interactions were subpar. I think we will be looking for a new place to buy our jewelry. Very disappointed!
Great staff. Went in looking for an engagement ring, and the staff went above and beyond finding the perfect ring. That was just one of any memorable visits. You really get what you pay for on an in-store visit.
Helzberg Diamonds in Gurnee is hands down the best Helzberg location I have ever visited.After a repair that went horribly wrong at another location (and countless hours spent expressing my concerns), we were not getting any closer to a resolution. At that point, I asked for my ring to be shipped to Gurnee because that is where my husband purchased the ring. Based on his past experience with the Gurnee location, he spoke very highly of Brenda and had confidence the Gurnee team would be able to fix the ring.The moment I stepped foot in the Gurnee location, I knew this would be a better experience. The facility was bright, clean, and welcoming. The store manager, Ashley, greeted us and we sat down together to assess the situation. She immediately identified and explained the problem and provided a solution. Within minutes, all of my stress disappeared and I knew my ring would be in good hands.A few days later, Ashley called to let me know the ring was ready. I cannot express how RELIEVED I was when I picked up the ring. It looked perfect! The jeweler’s craftsmanship was outstanding and it finally looked like my ring again.In the future, I will gladly drive over an hour to the Gurnee location simply because I trust their team. They are knowledgeable, possess a keen eye for detail, and, importantly, have a proven ability to do outstanding work.I could not be any more grateful for Ashley and her team. They worked wonders!
Wife wanted to get her 5 caret ring cleaned 👀 so we were close to a Helzberg in Gurnee Mills, since they were closing some stores do to the COVID-19 she was unable to do so. As we enter store I guess we looked like we were about to commit a heist a modern day Bonnie and Clyde 🤣 i guess tensions were calmed over once the noticed we were previous customers. Now they trying to sell us everything. I asked for a discount and she said $50🙄. Ok time to go, we got stuff to do darling...deuces ✌🏽

Today is actually the day before Mothers Day, so they were staffed appropriately for the customers. I was greeted when I walked in and also assisted immediately, I only needed the battery changed in my pressurized watch (Tag Heuer) David was able to take care of this and was very kind and helpful. I definitely will go back, and also recommend it to others, I would have given 5 stars if they had a better selection in earrings....Thanks for your excellent service David!
My wife sent in her weeding ring 3 months ago for a missing Dimond on the ring we bought from them. Due to COVID they closed the doors. We have received no phone call, no email or any return calls. We then proceed to email their contact us page on their website. I receive an email they will be contacting me that day. Well its been about a week now. If I remember correctly, Jewelers that fix everything work by them selves. Why are they not taking care of their customers ? If you can go to Walmart you should be able to do curbside pick up at a Jewelry store.
Very disappointed i went in to buy an engagement ring and I was told I would be able to come back and upgrade. Fast forward year later, came in to upgrade and I was told I could not upgrade. Talk to managers nobody would help me first and last purchase lost me as a customer.
Old and run down. I used to think that Helzberg was the place to shop for fine jewelry. The case are falling apart. The decor is not welcoming at all. Its like an abandoned funeral home. The stools for customers to rest on while looking at the diamond rings are falling apart. They are worse then a dive bar in the worst neighborhood of Chicago. Sad. Just tired and sad. Shop elsewhere.
Overall Im truly disappointed on the customer service that I received looking for a very special piece of jewelry. I was very excited and fell in love with a piece that I found in the store. Unfortunately I was also very overwhelmed with other choices. I made the comment that I needed time to think it over because I was overwhelmed, and understood that the item might be gone by the time I made my decision. Yet the sales associate relentlessly kept on pressuring me to buy this piece that second. I understand that its their job to sell, but there needs to be a line. If they would have shown a little bit of sympathy towards my emotions, I might have changed my mind. Unfortunately they did not so neither did I.

Quality diamonds and jewelry, but awful service. Some of the rudest most stuck up people i have had the misfortune of doing business with. Recently went to the store to purchase and engagement ring and was ignored completely at first. I dont know if it was because was wearing work clothes or what but had to ask for assistance. The woman helping me out acted as if she was doing me a favor bye giving me service. I did like the quality of the diamonds they sold there, so i did end up purchasing my fiances wedding band set there for a decent amount of money. Giving them the benefit of the doubt i brought my fiance back to look at a band for me. Again the staff acted as if we interrupting them when we asked for service. I am not very picky so we found a band right away that i liked. Not having the full amount for purchase at the moment we requested to put it on layaway dropping a deposit for it, and were given quite a nasty condescending look....as if we were low class because we could not pay full purchase price right at that moment. Every time she goes in there to pay more of it off she is met with poor service and attitude. Im not one to write bad reviews but this establishment warrants one. If you want good jewelry you very well might find something here, but dont expect to be treated with any courtesy or respect.
Excellent product, excellent sales people at the Gurnee location, and prices are decent. I highly recommend getting the lifetime warranty...Just make sure you have your jewelry serviced every 6 months or the warranty will be voided. All of my jewelry is from Helzberg! I have shopped at this location only so I cant speak for any other location. Weve been customers since 2008!
I came in today and was greeted by Adam. He was very friendly, upbeat, and professional. He did a great job cleaning my earrings, and showed me another pair without being pushy. Great experience. Thank you, Adam! I’ll be back :-)

DO NOT do business with this Helzberg, or any Helzberg for that matter. The first ring my husband bought me had a faulty setting that one of the diamonds fell out of not only once but twice within a 1 week period. We returned the ring telling them there was something wrong with the setting only to be treated like we were being a huge inconvenience. We ended up exchanging it for a more expensive ring and only then did they change their attitudes and treated us with genuine customer service. When I took my rings in to be polished before the wedding they brought them back out with the bands all scratched up. I pointed it out and the employee goes oh the jeweler must have used the wrong brush to polish it how does a CERTIFIED jeweler make that sort of mistake and not check his work before giving it back to the customer?! Then a few months ago I snagged a prong on something and it made the diamond lose in the setting, we took it in to be fixed (which took them 3 weeks to do something Im sure took 1 minute to do). When I got it back the jeweler had set the diamond crooked in the setting causing a different prong to stick up and snag on everything. I was then told it would have to go back into the system to be worked on and would take another two weeks. On top of their clearly incompetent jewelers, the staff is terrible. Theyre rude and speak to you with attitudes everytime, no matter what youre in there for. Unless you want a massive headache and a lifetime of problems and annoyances I do not recommend doing business with this place.

Disappointing customer service, hardly ever greeted, rude and inattentive staff. Ive been going to this location for six years and I feel like Im being looked down on or treated like a criminal. Id rather drive an additional hour away to Schamburg where Im treated fairly.
I was here a few weeks ago with my mother to look at a ring. Brenda quickly rushed out to help us. She seemed a little agitated that we couldn’t agree on one, so we left. As we were leaving, she turned to another employee and said “I bet they’re going to buy online. Don’t waste my time.” Wow. So apparently customer service goes out the window when you don’t buy something right away. This isn’t the first time we’ve been turned off by this store-another time when I came in nobody came out to greet me-I had to go by the counter where the women are found sitting down and on their phones, completely uninterested in helping. Disappointing.
They had my ring for 20 days (resizing it). They couldnt find me in their system by my last name (even though I gave them my LICENSE to look at when I dropped it off), yet never asked me for my repair number (which apparently is what they really needed...so Im not sure why they didnt ask for it RIGHT AWAY). It was frustrating, and I was literally panicking thinking they lost it. When I picked up my ring, it looked NO different and was still way too big. Im actually pretty certain they didnt resize it at all. The person who helped me just handed me my ring and didnt ask at all how it fit, but I didnt want to work with that staff again anyways. Ill go to my hometowns Helzberg location from now on.
Just like any jewelry store, I dont trust pricing until I review the 4Cs, plus every jewel is negotiable. For this reason I choose to go to a private source.

The service here is great everyone is very helpful but their jeweler must not know how to do his job as I had two diamonds fall out of the first ring we bought so we returned it and purchased another one that they suggested was less likely to have it happen and two days after having it sized that ring lost a diamond as well. Very dissapointed with the quality of work the salesmen blamed it on the style of ring rather than the jeweler but when we went to another helzberg they claimed they had not had this problem with any of their rings. Such poor quality work for such high priced items.

Worst experience ever almost certain it was due to my race as I walked in behind a Caucasian male he was greeted with a smile and handshake. I on the other hand was stared at like I stepped into the wrong place. I look at them and says Im just here to pick up my order. walked to the counter to pick up my order was thrown a pen and paper had to ask what it was for .and she yelled to sign all while assistant manager is standing there ...Then she hands me my ring in a ripped plastic bag I ask for a box to be told we dont sell boxes. Really ! my reciept says my pick up date which I had to call and see if it came in .all while 3 ladies are sitting around doing nothing I will take my African American business eles where as Im realizing African American black business is not wanted at halzberg diamonds lol will never recommend this place

Wow, a surprising amount of hate for this store and Helzberg in general. I came in a few months ago prior to a surprise engagement in NYC to buy the ring. I was quickly assisted by two women, one a manager and one a long time saleswoman for the store. Liz was the name of my saleswoman and I must say she did an excellent job. Im also in sales and appreciate the way I was treated. She didnt rush me and she took the time to get to know what I wanted in the ring and what my preferences were. After learning what I was looking for she started providing a slew of options. Nice job sensing I was looking for the upsell! hahaOverall it was a very pleasant experience. Theres a reason I went straight to Helzberg and really didnt consider any other place. In the past Ive bought her a few other diamond pieces. I think I didnt go with Helzberg one time. After that they were all from Helzberg. The reason I only go there is solely for the service. Everybodys got diamonds, theyre all going to be roughly the same price for the same pieces if youre comparing apples to apples. The difference is the service. Warren Buffett knows how to run a company. They have a lifetime warranty on all of their pieces. Ive had 3 small diamonds fall out of a necklace I gave her 6 years ago. You know what happened when I brought it in? They looked up my account, saw that I did indeed buy it from them, and they took it right away and replaced them. I had the necklace back within a week cleaned, polished, and with 3 new diamonds.THAT is why you go to Helzberg. No fuss, TOP NOTCH service. Once again, thank you Liz! Well be by in a few days to pick up the ring after the resizing!
The manager Brenda was literally HORRIBLE. I called and put in a large complaint with the district manager who had another manager from the same store call me... Biased much? She had a bad attitude and rolled her eyes at almost everything you ask her to show you, on top of that when asked to clean a ring she deliberately ignored the things that needed to be fixed, she came back saying all good and when I told her another jewlwer actually said there were several repairs needed she rolled her eyes & went back coming out with a horrible raised eyebrow saying oh yeah there are a ton of things that need to be fixed ..... Wouldnt she have seen that when she looked at it the first time? Especially being a manager? She mad my fiance and I very uncomfortable and made us leave feeling sad & not happy at all with the ring we ended up purchasing. We are returning it & never returning to hezberg again.
I had the worst retail experience I have ever had with this location recently.Please read this review.Started in June; I was told to wait until a about a month before my wedding to order my band because the one I chose could/can not be resized. I was assured of two things: it would not go up in price; and it would not go clearance (or if it did, it would be readily available).I returned 35 days before my wedding. Oddly, the ring I wanted had both gone up in price and was scarce, they had to order it from another location in my size. I agreed to order it, and they assured me that it would be in August 28th, about two weeks until my wedding (Sept 13th).September 3rd comes, no word from Helzburg. I called them, no answer. Four times. I reached them, finally, on September 5th, and they seemed confused about the order, and that it was probably on its way. When I said that wasnt good enough, they had no other options but to wait until Tuesday (Sept 8th), and we could call about it, then call you. It should be in by Friday. I did not receive a call Tuesday or Wednesday.Still havent heard from them, and they still will not answer their phones. I am now out of town for the wedding, and thankfully, I was able to get a ring elsewhere short-notice.Do not let this location ruin your plans for your big day like they almost ruined mine.
