Groh Aviation warning. I flew to 2r2 and had a prop issue. Groh aviation removed the prop and sent in for repair. This became and engine removal replacement. Groh removed the engine and reinstalled it after over haul. Josh said since most of the annual is engine related and we were changing it he would do the annual for 450. During the annual he found the fuel pressure gauge reading zero. I told him not to change it that it comes up after a few minutes. He demanded to change it or not sign off the annual. If that didnt fix it he would not charge for the gauge or labor. 4 Jan josh informed me the aircraft was fixed and ready to fly. I rent a car one way and drive 6 hours to get the plane. Josh informed me that the gauge must be sensing a vacuume as it reads negative below zero. The fuel pressure gauge he installed was damaged and not functional. Josh demanded payment prior to seeing the aircraft. The annual he charged 1300. I disputed and agreed to 800 because of the cold temps. Now he wont reimburse for the fuel gauge and owes me money he wont pay. I threaten him and he responds with threats to report me flying an unsafe aircraft which he signed off. I do not recommend anyone use his services. If anyone wants proof, pics or copies let me know.
Known Josh Groh for a number of years. Found him to be a highly trained military aviation technician. Straight forward concerned for his customers.Bob GehrlichFormer USAF Jet Instructor pilotFunctional Operations Pilot
Very honest and fair. I enjoyed doing business with him. Nice little airport to fly into! Would highly recommend.Don
Groh Aviation has helped a number of my friends and have always reported back how great the service, and quality of the work is. I know that people are in good hands with Josh and the team at his shop!
I received their name as a potential prebuy inspection service. I had them inspect my Piper Archer and preform an annual inspection. They were slow and kept pushing me back for other customers it took almost 30 days. I called many times to ask when it would be done and kept getting a different date. As this was a new purchase this was affecting my loan. Finally I received my plane. It was left on the ramp with my books and keys in it so anyone could have made off with it. They needed the space and I had paid so I was of no use to them anymore.
Groh Aviation, LLC is a very professional one stop shop. I had my Annual completed and Avionics upgraded all at a reasonable rate. Would highly recommend.
Groh Aviation is my go-to shop. Professional, prompt, honest, and reasonable. I wont be using anyone else!
Very timely, efficient, detail oriented. Would highly recommend to other Banaza owners.
Terrible service with Josh Groh. He removed my engine, reinstalled a new engine and propeller. His log book entries were terrible and only after I contacted the FAA were I able to get them resolved (3 Months). Josh also agreed to pay me 1,000 dollars for transportation cost which we was paid by the insurance company. He still refuses to pay this money.
Cessna 172N Skyhawk: The 2017 Annual was with Groh. The required INSPECTION, oil change, and spark plug replacements was the only maintenance performed. Took 21 days, Josh constantly slow leaks the progress and never can be nailed down to a completion date. He never called me to update progress, I always had to call him. This was the second and last annual to be done at Groh. Upon return to my hangar, thirty minutes away, there was oil running out the bottom of the airplane by the nose gear. Oil was splattered all over the back of the motor and compartment. It was way over serviced, or oil spilled when servicing, without clean up. I checked the paperwork over, he charged for 8 quarts of oil on the 2016 annual, guess what, this model Skyhawk requires only 6 quarts. There are other Skyhawk models that do require 8 quarts. The 2017 annual charged for only 6 quarts, but it seems more was poured. The 2018 annual was recently conducted at another facility. A number of maintenance issues have been identified that would not have happened in 10 months and 45 hours of flight since the previous Groh annual. The conclusion is that Groh inspections are suspect at best. I will say that Groh is not looking to find work and sell parts, but if the aircraft is in the shop for 21 days, it is just sitting. Probably outside.Beware the inspection with Groh, you are flying an aircraft that may have issues that his shop is too busy to worry about. Look around, Grohs hangar is always packed, and you will likely find aircraft outside with the cowlings removed. Your call, I wont go near that place again.
I used Groh Aviation as my prebuy inspectior for my 72’ Cessna Cardinal last November. Their documentation and photo presentation was fantastic. I just went through my first annual inspection and my worst issue was a cracked header pipe ( after 43 hours of ownership).I’m not saying these guys can’t miss something, but between my local mechanic, and them they did a damn fine job of evaluating the aircraft, before I said yes.I would use them again..... my only complaint is lack of commitment to when the job would be done. A bit hard to pin down if you plane to fly in from the pacific coast.Keep up the great work Josh!
Fantastic working with Groh Aviation always a pleasure
