After reading reviews, being close to home, I was excited to do biz w/Smitty’s. I called the week before my vacation, described my transmission problem to Jimmy. He told me it was likely the transmission needed replaced which confirmed my thoughts. He said it was a common repair for Chevy trucks. He said to bring it in the following Friday which I did. An elderly man helped me when I arrived as Jimmy was not available and the old man took me to talk to a much younger mechanic who told me would drive it this afternoon, call me this PM or Monday, When Monday came to a close I called. Jimmy answered and got very aggressive, told me they were busy and would call tomorrow.He did not. Wednesday, Thursday and Friday came and went with out any calls. I returned to their place of business Friday late afternoon and my truck was in the same spot I left it covered in a heavy coating of dust. I went in and simply ask for my keys. Grandpa came out and yelled; I never promised it would be done today. Smitty’s: Highly disorganized rolled up with lots of lies and disappointment. I suppose I dodged a bullet when the dust settles, I hope you do too.

I took them my car and they were very up front with the problem and the price was very fair. The staff was very nice and considerate. I recommend Smittys to anyone. Great experience.

Good transmission shop in greenwood area.

My wife and I have had our vehicle serviced at Smittys now for the second time. After dealing with several other mechanic shops we both have realize that we are only going to be bringing our cars to Smittys. They seem to be one of the only last good and honest mechanics in Greenwood maybe even in Indianapolis. We originally brought our car in for the second time because we were told that we had a transmission issue. After taking it to Smittys we were told that it was just control arms. Thank you for saving my family thousands of dollars.

(0 *STARS*) Had transmission replaced in 2017 on my Buick and now its 2020 35,000 miles later and transmission is shifting hard again, paid over 1,500 for a rebuild and I bring the car in for a diagnostic and they say 2 sensors inside the trans is bad and want 600 to 800 to replace 2 sensors. TRANSMISSION IS WELL OUT OF WARRANTY. I SHOULD HAVE SPENT MY MONEY AT ANOTHER SHOP VERY DISAPPOINTED IN SMITTYS. (CAR REPAIRS AT YOUR OWN RISK AT SMITTYS). IM VERY DISPLEASED. (Replying to the owner) theres no way after 2 yrs I should not be having a code 1811 if everythang was built correctly I have a lot of clutch material in my pan,so when its goes complelty out I will update. Update not even 90 days after I left the review transmission is Fried its done no shift no nothing there is no way i pay another 1500 and cant get 50,000 miles

Be careful of this shop. Had them replace my transmission on a dodge neon a few years ago and it went bad within 3 months. We took it back they refused to do any warranty or fix the issue. All they offered was to put another one in at cost, again. I wouldn’t be surprised if they put a bad transmission in it to begin with. Save the money and headache and go somewhere else that won’t screw you.

I have an older Dodge Ram holds a sentimental value!!! Paid 1600.00 to have trans rebuilt transfer case resealed an serviced an trans lines reballed, seemed cheap an people at work gave good feed back HOWEVER trans still isn’t right was told it needed a tune up paid for that an it runs worse

Horrible business!! They said they fixed my transmission and it went out 3 months later. They said the guy was on vacation and would call back in 2 weeks, that turned into a month later. Then said its not what they had fixed and wasnt covered under warranty. I got 3 other people who has been screwed over by them. I after having it done by them, i find out a friend of mine his truck they had to fix his 5 times,before having another place fix it.. Watch Out They Will screw you over to...

One star is giving them far too much credit. Had my van sitting at their shop for over THREE MONTHS to have transmission work done to it, with multiple calls and visits to try and ignite some urgency.... paid to have it serviced multiple times, and then when I finally got it back under the promise of it being fixed, the tranny locked up again the very next day and rendered it immobile. Towed back up to their shop where it will probably sit for who knows how many more months? THANK YOU for the wasted money, lost time, and missed work. Would strongly discourage anyone from going here unless you never want to see your vehicle back again.
