Its an insurance company. No speeding tickets, no DUIs, no accidents until I drove into a parking garage and scraped the roof of my service van. The Hartford sent me a check for $1,800 or so and then proceeded to raise my rates that will repay them that much, in less than a year. Of course my rates will probably stay the same, even after they get their money back. The only people that get good rates here are folks in retirement homes that their car never leaves the garage.

My employer uses The Hartford for disability benefits. I’ve had a claim open for almost four months now and have been given the runaround at every possible opportunity. They first sent a form dealing with physical limitations for my completely mental based issues and told me repeatedly that there was no form dealing with the mental side. Finally when I spoke with a supervisor he sent their standard form for mental issues over to my doctor. They’ve had this information for almost three months now and it’s delay after delay after delay. Any time they do ANYTHING it’s a five business day delay AND I never hear back, I have to call them to get any information at all. Not only that, I’ve only spoken to my claim handler once after leaving messages for both her and her supervisor multiple times (and their voicemail says they’ll call you back the same day if the message is left by a certain time). This is the worst experience I’ve ever had with any company ever. At this point I’m losing hope to ever get this claim approved. I’m going to the BBB.

This place wrongfully sent me a bill. I called and they said they would send it to a higher up. Now instead, I get a new bill from a debt collector with added fees.RUN FAST AND FAR FROM THIS COMPANY! Scam!

I was hit by one of their employees (she backed into my car). She got out and started cussing my mom and I out insisting it was our fault and even called my mom a c**t although she had nothing to do with the accident. The cops eventually came and said it was her fault and she continued to be rude. Dealing with the claim since has been awful. They never return phone calls and my case is locked (since it was an employee) so a general representative cannot help me. I have been trying to get a rental car for over a week now with no calls being returned or acknowledged. I have been hit in the past & there are way better insurance companies out there who actually take care of their responsibilities. STAY AWAY!!!!!!!! You will be glad you did.

I have had two claims in two months and with both claims it took multiple phone calls to finally close the claims. The agents were awesome taking care of us when the accidents happened but after that Hartford has been very difficult in supporting their customers as they promised.

I was over 600 miles away from home and my car broke down. It was not driveable and I needed a tow. I called to get a tow and was told that I did not have roadside assistance. This was a Saturday night and customer service was not open to verify that I do have roadside assistance. I was told that there was nothing they could do for me. I would have to call customer service on Monday.I had to stand on the side of the road with a sign trying to get a ride to an auto parts store to get the car fixed. The closest auto parts store was over 12 miles away. I called customer service and was told I do have roadside assistance. When I asked what they were going to do to compensate for my issue and embarrassment, I was told that they were sorry but could not compensate. I am looking for another insurance company. I have never been treated so badly.

One of the worst commercial insurance experiences Ive ever had. Had to file a claim because of an unmarked utility line that was damaged during construction. Damage was not our fault, we had evidence that it was not our fault, everything the insurance needed to handle denying the claim to the utility company and show that it was not our fault. Instead this worthless company spent 1.5 months literally trying to find finding any and every way to deny me the ability to even file the claim. Again all that was needed was to deny the claim to the utility company based on the info I provided. But NOOOO why would your insurance company try and help you as the insured when you pay them $5,000+ per month...wish companies were honest. This one only cares about you as a company when your making them ridiculous amounts of money...but file one claim and they want nothing to do with you.

Horrible company to have to deal with, the carwash they insure damaged my vehicle, they admitted guilt of it even. When turned over to the insurance company to fix the damage, this insurance company claimed there were no before and after pictures for proof. I am very particular about my vehicle and had wash it very regularly and notice if there is or isnt a scratch, the 3+ foot long scratch on my car was done by their client and they dont want to cover what the carwash pays them to cover. I would not want this type of company insuring me and my property.

Still waiting to hear from someone about finishing the job. Plus more damage happened and I cant get anyone to call me.lve left three msgs. Plus sent an email. Very upset with The Hartford. They wont acknowledge me at all. Ive made ny payments every year without fail and now that I need them they are playing games with me. If you are an AARP member and get your car and home insurance through them. Change it,because they dont even care about helping when you need it the most.

Horrible insurance company!!!!!!! Do not get insurance with the Hartford, I am self employed and had workmans comp with the Hartford for 2 full years and when one of my employees was hurt on the job and couldnt work. I made a claim and a couple months later when my policy was about to expire they decided not to renew my policy. So they kicked me off for using my insurance. Why provide insurce to someone and charge them a premium but kick them off when they use it? And since they declined my renewal it was very hard to find another company that would accept my request for workmans comp. Thats what I get after 2 years of loyalty. They really dont care about their customers.
