The apartment group is AWFUL. NEVER live here. The apartments (I live in hyde park) are decent but the management is AWFUL. I have an nest of wasp living in my fire place for 4 days and they come into my apartment, Im getting stung while I sleep, Im constantly killing them during the day.. I have called the office and spoke with someone four times, and went into the office to talk with someone about it and was told I will have to wait until Friday. Today is Tuesday. This became a problem on Saturday afternoon. I cannot wait until my lease is over! Our water was once turned off for maintenance purposes, which is understandable, but I wasnt given any notice that this would be occurring. Have you ever tried to get ready for school and making breakfast without running water? The water ended up being off for 5 hours. Like cool, do your maintenance.. but let me know when youre going to turn off a service I pay to use so I can make other arrangements. For the amount of money youd pay to live here compared to the quality of service you receive -- totally NOT worth it!!!
This used to be a nice place a few years ago but now they are just milking it. It became another student living place with dogs poop all over the green areas, a crappy swimming pool, old appliances and bad looking apartments that on top of that you can hear everything your neighbors do.Put it this way, I would never let a friend of mine to live in this place
My graduate student husband and I have lived at Arlington Square Apartments for over two years, and we have loved it! We wanted a place far enough from ECU to have some peace and quiet, but close enough to make an easy commute, and this is it. The staff here are friendly and helpful, they have the fastest maintenance crew Ive ever seen (an awesome group of handymen), and even though were walking distance from the mall and two grocery stores, we feel like we have our own little sanctuary in the woods. Weve also been blessed with our neighbors. The price for the quality of the space is unbeatable in this town (believe me, we looked!). The only negative thing I can say is that because of all the big trees, you dont get a lot of light in the apartments from outside. Thats the tradoff of living in a wooded area, just be aware. :-) Welcome to Greenville!
I had a terrible experience living in the Hyde Park apartments. If you are planning on renting one of these apartments I hope you LOVE ROOMMATES because the moment you sign the lease you’ll also get your downstairs and/or upstairs neighbors as your new roommates. You all will be living as a big happy family enjoying each other noises day and night. I know you’re probably thinking it is an apartment and there will always be noise, and you are correct, but I have lived in at least 8 other apartments and this was, by far, the worse. But if you still want to go ahead I’ll give you a final advice: start saving money for some sleep aid tabs and ear plugs because you’ll need them. If it makes you feel better there is a CVS and a Walgreens just a few blocks away.
I would rate this as supremely bad if that were an option.Apartment above me flooded, and damaged every ceiling in my apartment. The response was to put in dehumidifiers and professionally clean the apartment. I was not allowed to switch apartments, my rent actually increased, and they would not pay for the $50 dollar increase in my power bill from running this equipment.Water damage and mold now growing in my apartment. They said they were not coercing me to stay. However, my lease end in April, and I dont finish school till May. No apartment in Greenville will allow you to sign a one-month rent if you are a new time leaser. (Trust me I called over 20 places to make sure.)Not to mention the manager was completely unprofessional and yelled at me for even suggesting that they dont jack my rent up by $40, or simply pay the difference in my power bill. Shes manager number 3 that Ive dealt with.
The Apartment Group has new management and the office and maintenance staff do their best to accommodate every applicant and tenant to the best of their abilities in a timely and courteous manner.
I wish I could rate this experience below poor. Since the beginning, weve had issues with the management here at The Apartment Group. When we came to look at the apartments, they of course showed us the model townhome. Pushed for time, desperate to get out of my mothers house from where we abruptly had to relocate from Florida back to NC ... we said sure, why not. And about a month later, they handed us the key (notice I said KEY. They only gave us one key for my husband and I to share) to our townhome.Upon moving in, I immediately noticed the kitchen was infested with roaches. I mean, infested. In about 2 hours I went through 3 bottles of roach spray, and 2 roach bombs, left the apartment for the night and went and stayed with my mom. When I called them, they at least made sure the pest control guy came in and sprayed the next day ..He told me when he returned the next week that he had never seen an infestation so bad. He returned until the problem was under control, thankfully.. But the fact that they overlooked this matter and allowed someone to move in under these conditions is just unacceptable.Nevermind the fact that when we have to put in an order for repairs, my husband has to do it. Because apparently they dont take women seriously. Never the less, since moving in 6 months ago they have had to replace our garbage disposal, the sewage line has had issues, our heating unit went out and had to be replaced in the middle of January, even the windows are such a poor quality that I had to get one of the very VERY kind maintenance men to fix it when they were fixing our garbage disposal (because I put in an order the DAY I moved in for the window to be fixed, but 2 months later they had still sent no one to fix it.) This wasnt an issue of the window sticking, or being hard to work with.. It wouldnt lock. The large downstairs window would not lock. My 1 year old and I were here alone for several months before my husband got a new job in Greenville, and I couldnt sleep at night because these people didnt take my request to fix my window seriously. My major concern (which is why Im up so late angrily posting this) is because it seems like they will rent to just ANYONE. Im fairly certain they dont really do their background checks properly.. or they just overlook stuff. 2 out of 3 neighbors I have had in the 6 months I have lived here have been a pure NIGHTMARE. Both playing excessively loud rap music at all times of night, to the point where it keeps my daughter and myself up. The last neighbor I had, he decided on any given week night that hed let his friends come over and drink. Whereupon theyd stand on our shared front patio and yell, scream, laugh, and throw cigarette butts all over our walkway. The people on the other side of me, a family of 4 with two middle school aged children, have never made a peep. So I know its not just an issue of thin walls. Its just an issue of crappy neighbors.I love the location of the apartments, and once our bug problem was fixed I loved the apartment. The 1 month without a neighbor, while they were repainting and cleaning carpets were a DREAM. But now that I have the new obnoxious, ungrateful, rude neighbors.. I cant wait to leave this place. I am counting down the days until my lease runs out (or the neighbors get evicted, Im pretty sure theyre so low class that they wont be able to make rent.)Regardless, if you DO decide to move in here, be prepared. Get the Greenville PD on speed dial because youll probably need it for some good ole noise complaints.
I have never been there. Drive by on Arlington sometimes daily. I have marked this Havent been there or Dismiss repeatedly, and keep getting rating and review requests.
