This rescue is not only a great place to adopt an animal from but they are a great place to foster for as well. They care about each of their animals and are still open (just not in person) during the virus! Check out their website to adopt your new best friend!! Pics are of my foster kitty

Adopted a kitten from them. Very caring people. They would let the kittens out of crates so they could get some exercise and play time.

Adopted a kitten from here, easy process. My friend has also adopted a kitten from here and they were willing to meet her in Durham for drop off because my friend lives in Raleigh. The staff is amazing and very caring for the animals.

I was a little taken back by the vetting process and the line of questioning but I think the compassionate volunteer staff are trying to find the best forever homes for their fosters. We had a chance to meet a liter of kittens at the adoption center and interact with them. The foster dad bought them from his home in kernersville for a meet and greet. We are picking up our kitten on the 23 after her 2nd round of shots. They might have some policies you may not fully embrace but they are truly providing a loving service to homeless animals.

My dog from here is awesome. However, after seeing another review by another person. I feel the need to tell my story of our adoption process. We go and fill out paperwork for our dog and the old white lady, Judy, processing it goes OH youre last name is (a common spanish last name) thats interesting like were too white to be Hispanic then I put down the dogs vet and she goes oh I think the vet there is latino like we all know each other or something. If my vet and personal references were immaculate, Im sure she would have found a reason not to adopt to us.It seems she might have an issue with latinx adopters.

Recently my grandmother tried to adopt a dog from here that she fell in love with. The dog also seemed to love her back just as much! It seemed like a good match. When she tried to talk to the foster mom about adopting him, she refused because it didnt seem like a good match to her. When questioned about it, the womans reasoning was this: my grandma was too old. She said this to her face, along with a few other comments such as, Well, you walk kind of slow, and What if the dog outlives you?Obviously this hurt my grandma, so she thought it would be a good idea to talk to the director of the program. But the director actually AGREED with the foster moms reasons.This is blatant discrimination against my grandmas age. When this point was brought up to the director, she told my grandma that they try not to discriminate against peoples age, but in this case they felt they were right. In fact, she told my grandma that they just adopted out a cat to a woman over 90. Are you KIDDING me? My grandma is 78.If 0 stars was an option, that would be what I clicked.

Well I have to say that I was definitely not comfortable with the person who called me from their adoption center. Her name is Judy, and it started asking me questions of my my origin because I’m bilingual and of course, I have an accent (why is my accent relevant to an adoption process?). I’m an American who wants to adopt a cat. Now she also started asking if I knew how far the center was from my home? Of course, I reached out to them, I know how far I live from the center and was also willing to make the drive. But she asked me more than three times if I wanted to drive from my home to the center and to take in consideration that they are never up to date with the animals posted on the website. That I might be lucky if they are available by the time I get there.I wouldn’t want to adopt a animal from a person who is not respectfully towards other people.Better luck to those who are looking forward to adopt a pet. We filled out an adoption form for a pup, with our 5 years old son. After a week of not having heard anything from them I went back, and the lady in charge of calling people said that she called everyone but never got our application which is why she never called us. She was supposed look for it, and to call us back to let us know what happened, that was 3 weeks ago still no news.I understand that they are volunteers doing great work for animals, and I appreciate that, but when people take the time to fill out the form and go through your interview, that you learn after its over that the dogs foster parents make the decision, and not the person that interviewed you it feels like waste of time for everyone involved, especially when they dont bother telling you that you didnt get the dog. They tell you at the end of the interview give us a few days and well call you.I would give them 1 start but some of my family members got their dogs with them and had a great experience.

I applied for a pet and These people are Very Prejudice! bc I suffer from permanent disability and they tell me you don’t work how are you to take care of a pet with disability? And you don’t drive how you supposed get your pet to a vet? And you know how it’s very expensive to care every year for vet bills! So she say we’ll come by anyway! ReaLLy!? ;

Visited this place in search of adopting a puppy. To make a long story short the expierence was great until I got the not so great opportunity to discuss the paper work. Issue is my work hours, everyone on the floor and even the foster parent of the puppy I wanted said my hours were long but would defiantly work. I get to the back and discuss the paperwork with I guess the woman that runs the roost, and she said absolutly not because of my working hours. Basically telling me that I needed to take my 10 days paid PARENTAL Leave from work to take of the puppy! Point here is, unless your a retiree or just don’t have a job to be at, best not come here!

The staff is great. I love the way they run this place. The animals dont stay here, but instead their foster parents take them on certain days and meet potential adopters, meaning a lot less stress on the animals. Adorable puppies and kittens too ;)

Wonderful people doing great work here. If you dont have a good spot to home a pet, you might not get approved. They actually care about where the animals go. Dont complain, be a better parent.

I was trying to adopt a kitten for my daughter for her birthday and instead they ask all of these trick questions and never contact you to let you know if you have been approved. I would give them no star because I waited and waited and waited and they knew the situation. We ended up adopted a free kitten on Craigslist and he is awesome...I got all his shots and had him neutered without there help...she asked me a question about money and what was more important. Well we are happy with our friend he actually turned 1y/o May 1st. So thank you anyway

If I could give a negative star, I would. I was offended when I told them that my mother would walk the dog while I was at work and the lady asked my mother if she was in good health!Just a bit over the top ridiculousness!

3 stars because they only have a few dogs available which is a GREAT THING they are a very clean facility .. Before i went here i left a voicemail inquiring aboit adoption . they are VERY PICKY about who they let theoririr dogs go to . then i got told .. Im not sure if you work or not when i got there in my WORK CLOTHES .. long story short if you dont have a house with a fence DO NOT adopt from here .... But what they have to realize is sometimes a person living in an apartment can take care of an animal sometimes better than a person that lives in a house ... Especially if the dogs are way under 25 pounds ... I honestly felt very judged . and i was asked if i could even afford the 250 pet fee ... Like i would never recommend this place or go here again . finding a good home for animals is always great .. But you should never judge anyone ..

Visited a couple days ago. There were only 3 pups available for adoption (WHICH IS A GOOD THING). you could tell the pups were loved and spoiled with their foster families. The facility is clean, tighty, and gives so much love to the animals that arrive here. The adoption process seems like you have to jump through many hoops, but it is only out of love for the animals. They want to ensure they go to a good, caring home. I wish I could have taken a pup home with me. Definitely would reccomend checking it out!

I intended to adopt a dog from this facility and was met with a woman calling me to inform me that based on my application she thought I would not be able to adequately care for the dog(in so many words). I was also informed of their insane policies and adoption procedures. I do not agree that a dog or puppy should be placed on their site for adoption if he or she has not been vaccinated with all of his or her proper shots and or is not of proper age for adoption. Waiting months to actually be able to take the dog home is absolutely ridiculous & makes the adoption process lengthier than it should be. To make matters worse, the foster parent(s) of the dog/puppy gets to decide which applicant the dog goes home with. Why give a potential adopter false hope?? Do not adopt from here. There are more adoption facilities with less adoption procedures in place that equally benefits the animal and its well-being.
