The staff is absolutely amazing. By far the most important factor in the quality of a recovery center is the people who work there. From the techs to the therapists to the support staff and wellness instructors, EVERYONE that works at Hickory is great at their job and a great human being. I cannot recommend this facility highly enough for people who are ready to change their lives. I made lifelong connections and friendships there that give me hope and strength every day. I have no doubt my life was changed for the better by Hickory House.

Hickory Treatment Center was one of the best rehabs I ever went to. I got all my needs met and learned various skills and coping mechanisms for maintaining sobriety. I also developed a relationship with my higher power while there.

Hickory House saved my life. When I finally accepted that I needed help in the form of an inpatient program I did a lot of research. When I looked into Hickory House I learned that it was a place where I wasn’t just a number (like most detox/treatment centers are). It was more attractive after speaking to past clients and finding out that the BHT’s, therapists, and other staff members are hyper focused on each client, but at the same time non-intrusive. They treat you with respect by giving you the time and space to form your own thoughts/beliefs about your recovery naturally, instead of being forced, with the idea that the clients who realize on their own that drastic lifestyle changes are necessary are the clients who see long term success.They truly have the best staff. The BHT’s, nurses, therapists, intake staff, chef’s, yoga instructor and management are the perfect people for those positions. They treat you like family and are deeply invested in each client as soon as you come through the door. I owe the staff more than I could ever repay. This place saved my life to say the least. The first day I walked in I was very fearful and anxious. As soon as I got back to the house everyone greeted me with warm hellos, smiles and waves, and it only get better from there. The staff goes above and beyond to make sure you’re every need is met and you feel comfortable. What made me most at home was There was zero judgment, from the staff, residents, therapist or doctors. The facility is extremely clean, and the chefs are excellent at what they do! Honestly, it’s not about all of those things tho, it’s about the treatment they provide. And I will refer you back to the top, when I say Hickory House helped save my life from addiction. I learned so much, not only about my addiction but about who I was, and who I wanted to become. If you’re struggling, sick and tired of being “sick and tired” and feel there is no way out, you should call. Make that phone call to Hickory or get on the website and check it out. If you want a change you have to make a change. Today’s the day to turn it all around!

Program is not really in line with evidence based practices of addiction recovery. Would recommend follow-up IOP to partake in curriculum which address the reasons for using and prevent relapse. Food is good and place is clean.

I was very disappointed with them the staff they are very uneducated in the addiction treatment. Also the staff would very often gater and gossip hatefully about patients, to where we could hear them it made me cry alot i got picked on often by other patients and when i would complain to staff nothing was done about it . i eventually got kicked out of the facility for something i didnt do. In my honest opinion the place should be shut down!!! Its a joke and im lucky that im strong minded and have turned my life over to jesus/GOD or else i would have relapsed due to them..

I was at the location in Linton Indiana and I have never experienced such a family feeling in a rehab. Carol the admissions coordinator is awesome she goes out of her way to meet ur needs.. she brings u clothes if u dont have any... the staff does as well.. food is prepared daily.. no leftovers.. snacks are given.. beds are comfy.. I loved my experience there.. all the staff are awesome and they actually care.. its not boring at all.. we have karaoke days and graduation every Friday they go out of their way to bri n.v g u in what u want for graduation.. and miss kathy is the sweetest lady there... trish was my counselor and she helped me so much. And the night staff was very engaged in my recovery . I would ccx recommend this place to anybody who is looking for a new start..

Best place ever, everyone was so helpful and always went over and beyond helping me! If you are scared to go there, I was! Don’t be! You will learn so much take it all in. The staff is amazing each and everyone there are so great! Great food too! Great yoga! Great workouts! Even loved the group meetings all the therapist there are very knowledgeable.

This facility was amazing. As parents of an adult child looking for recovery from Alcohol, we found Hickory House Recovery the right answer for us. This was our first experience with recovery and Hickory House made us feel confident we were where we should be. Desperate for help and information they were quick to get back with us with urgency. Day orNight someone would answer our calls, or text. The care was excellent. The staff was incredible. This place will save you. The Therapists take on personal responsibility to find out what the underlying causes of your disease is. Take advantage of the other people who are in there with you. You will forget about the outside world for awhile and concentrate on YOU for awhile.The facility is amazing. Great food, fun outside experiences, and the staff takes care of your every need whether it is meds, consultation or whatever. In between very specific recovery meetings we got to know each other which was as helpful as anything else. If you want time alone, you can get it. It’s very relaxed.I looked at many facilities and did my due diligence. You cannot go wrong here. My fellow addicts are now people I love and we stay in touch daily. Wonderful!!!!!

Amazing facility, staff, and program. Truly a life changing experience. Making the decision to enter the program at Hickory House was a pivotal moment in my journey through life and I owe my new perspective, in large part, to the knowledge and tools I obtained within the walls of HH. I’ll forever be grateful to the staff and “tribe” for saving my life.

We were desperate. We did not know where to turn next to find help for our son. Other facilities offered outpatient detox and recovery. I knew that as not going to be the answer. We were let down by the Crisis Hotline and other facilities. Then our prayers were answered when we found out about Hickory House. Melissa has been an angel. She has been in constant contact with me for a week working diligently trying to get our son in Hickory House after detox. I honestly dont think I would of made it through this ordeal without her encouragement. She gave us hope and encouragement. She was there for us when no one else would give us the time of day. She did not let us down. She was always respondent to my calls, emails and texts.We toured the facility this evening and were so pleased. Its beautiful. The staff were very kind. My son was actually excited to get settled in. We need more facilities and people like Hickory House and Melissa. Compassion is so important. I actually have hope and feeling positive regarding my sons recovery. Most importantly he feels positive. Hickory House is different .......Its recovery with dignity. Thats important.If you are searching for help for a loved one, I dont believe you will find a place that offers as much as Hickory House.

I was an employee of Hickory House Recovery. I enjoyed the job and loved the care each resident was given. The program was growing and adapting to each unique case. I wish I could have stayed but had moved to far to be able to give 100% which each resident received while at Hickory House. The staff I was honored to work with made the job fun and enjoyable, and the management is available with open ears to suggestions from staff. I wish them well in the growth and success they surely will have.

Where do I begin....I guess at the very beginning. In October I began to help my cousin try to find a rehab and/or detox facility because we felt he would not survive much longer if he did not get some help. We were thrilled when agreed to go, but our elation was short lived because the process of finding a suitable rehab facility proved daunting. It was stressful and scary all at the same time, because his life was at stake. He asked me to look into Hickory House and I have to admit I was extremely impressed (almost too good to be true). They went above and beyond from the very first phone call. Melissa and Charles answered every question I had and took my calls no matter what time of day or week it was! It was so comforting.Because he was going out of state, it was very difficult for us to get him to and from rehab or attend the weekend family visitations. They helped us with that by picking him up at the detox facility, and driving him to Hickory House. That kind of care and personal attention was given throughout the 6 weeks of his program. I was allowed to call and speak with them any time, and they were so nice and informative about his progress each and every time. They would let him know that I called, and he would return the call when he was out of class. He never felt too far away. (He always sounded so upbeat and positive when he called, that my hope soared, because it had been so long that I had heard that sound in his voice).Thank you Hickory House for saving my cousin, and giving him an awesome chance at sobriety and a happy life!!!

My name is Mark Roland, a 62 year old man, and a heavy social drinker most of my adult life. After my retirement a few years back, I lost all control of my drinking. My alcoholism threatened every aspect of my life. With the help of my oldest son I searched for answers and found them at Hickory House.Located in Greenfield Indiana just outside Indianapolis, Hickory House is a remarkable setting where I turned my life around. The first thing you will find is a fantastic facility. From patient rooms straight out of a hotel magazine to an award winning chef and kitchen to ensure your dietary needs are met, you will find an oasis of calm in which to focus on recovery.Every new residents needs are evaluated quickly and the technical and nursing staff are there to make sure those needs are met. Individual and group therapeutical counseling happen daily as well as planned outings for everything from equine therapy to Top Golf fun. I felt like I was surrounded by caring family from the moment I walked in.As of this writing I have been sober for almost 90 days. I have been given the tools and a clear mind to stay that way. Hickory House has been a blessing to our family. Their program is individualized and focused on long term recovery - not just detox. Melissa kept in close contact with our son prior to his admission which helped make him feel more comfortable with making the decision to go to residential treatment. They also have an intensive out patient program. I like that clients spend time going to groups outside of Hickory House to help develop a support group after discharge from the program. Our son relapsed after discharge and Melissa helped to get him back in the program. Relapse is common with addiction and I like that Hickory House continues to be a resource. We now have hope and see light at the end of the tunnel.

Dedicated, Caring, Compassionate -- As the friend/loved one of a person who was admitted to Hickory House three times in a two month period, I have a different perspective from many. Not only did Melissa and the entire staff at Hickory House never give up on my friend, but they never gave up on me as her significant other. Although alcoholism and recovery were foreign to me, and although I made more than my share of mistakes, the staff always treated me with respect and understanding, helping me to grow and learn. Although my friend was in Hickory House on three different occasions, I dont see the first two visits as failures. They were important and necessary steps that have gotten us to the point we are now. Because of the dedication and compassion of the entire staff, and because of the respect and dignity with which my friend was treated, recovery is a reality and success is seen each and every day. Thank you, Melissa, and please thank Scott and the entire staff for giving us the tools and ability to beat addiction and truly live life. We will be forever grateful!

This is an amazing facility with amazing staff. From the office staff to the BHTs to the therapists everyone truly cares about your recovery. You can feel that the moment you walk in. You attend group and individual therapy. The therapists are hands down the best I have ever met.This being a newer facility it is very nice. I love that each resident has a private room. You always have the choice of staying in your room during down time or hanging out with the group. I recommend hanging out with the group. You will make some good friends and it makes the time go by fast.The food is delicious. If you dont like something on the menu the chef will prepare something else for you. He really cares about everyone having a nice meal. He always has snacks and sandwiches available if you get hungry between meals.All in all I highly recommend this facility if you or a loved one is in need of help with an addiction. If my family ever needs help in the future Hickory House is the only place we will consider.

HICKORY HOUSE SAVED MY LIFE!My name is Brittney, i am 24 years old and I am a recovering heroin addict.I had first started doing heroin at the age of 14, started shooting it immediately. I have been in and out of rehabs, outpatient services, jails, and prison. I thought there was no hope for me.This last relapse was by far the worst one, it can always be worse though, and in knowing that, if I were to go back out I would die. You see, I was 8 months pregnant, strung out, homeless, and hopeless..I was wishing for death but death wouldnt come. I had my baby 11/12/18 and knew I had to do something to change my life or I was going to die and leave all 3 of my babies motherless.I found Hickory House sitting in the hospital after having my baby, as soon as I was discharged I went straight there, and actually a staff member of Hickory House came and picked me up! She made such a huge difference in my life💓 it was difficult leaving my baby but I knew if I didnt get help for myself I was never going to be the mother all 3 of my boys needed and deserved. Hickory house saved me.Hickory house helped me to become the woman I am today. I now work a full time job, I am very much involved in the NA program, and I now have full custody of my 4 year old and my 3 month old and i get visits with my 1 year old. I have goals, hope, and happiness today! Hickory House gave me the right tools I needed in order to survive.Hickory House is the best thing to have ever happened to me. Hickory House gave me my life back, not my old life even before the drugs..but a brand new life, a much much better life!! I will never be able to put into words how truly grateful I am for Hickory House and all there staff!

I recently toured the facility and was very impressed. The facility features spacious, modern, single suites. I enjoyed that every suite came with a fenced-in patio, allowing guests to enjoy the outdoors without sacrificing their privacy. I was also able to tour the facilitys restaurant-grade kitchen, where I viewed a sample menu of their farm to table offerings. Overall, I felt that the services and level of care offered at Hickory House Recovery was second to none and enjoyed receiving a guided tour.

This rehab is great, it helped me get on the right path. They have some of the best staff and some who truly understand what their clients are going through. I would highly recommend.

I would strongly recommend that anyone seeking recovery from alcohol or drug addiction start their journey at the Hickory House! I have previously sought support from other rehabilitation centers, but have never experienced the positive reinforcement and results that I gained from HH! The staff and therapists are knowledgeable, experienced, supportive and most of all, caring. I cannot recommend anything more highly to those needing a path to successful recovery!

I choice Hickory House as my treatment facility do to the fact of private rooms the promise of quality treatment . I will say nice facility, good food, clean, nice atmosphere. The biggest downfall is the front office, they will happily tell you whatever you need to hear to get the individual into the facility, they do not check nor follow through with insurance needs. One minute they say it’s the same price as other treatment centers but after they get you in to center that’s the end of HH administrations, they have repeatedly ignored calls from myself and my insurance but still happily send bills to me. They place had four staff memebers leave in the short time I was in treatment, that should say enough about the lack of competence in the front office.

Wonderful place. I have been to more rehabs that I can count of my 2 fingers, and this place is by far, the most nice. Everyone at Hickory is so caring and they do all they can to put you before themselves. Great place and almost miss parts of it.

She and the staff truly care.The facility was fabulous. Being in a group setting was very beneficial to my recovery. They kept you busy all day. Between meetings, groups and activities and outings I learned how to enjoy life without being high. The staff was caring, respectful and professional. They kept all of us on a strict time schedule, which helped me out a lot. The food was phenomenal. I have never ate like I did at hickory house my entire life.I made new friends. I highly recommend this facility for any addict who wants to get clean. With the outpatient care and support I am still receiving I will be the 7 percent addict who does not relapse.

Everybody from the owner, to the techs, to the cooks, the nurse, the doctor, counselors, and etc put you first. The passion this place has is outstanding and are willing to cater to your needs. Found my new path and enlightenment because of Hickory House!! God led me to this facility and I am forever grateful. I spent over 30 days in treatment and I am renewed! You get a schedule each day which includes weekly personal meetings with your individual therapist. Your primary therapist is picked just for you with your comfort level and preferences considered. The group outings were great and every night with options such as AA, NA, Speaker mtgs., Celebrate Recovery (a dual group lesson therapy approach), community events and outings. They manage a program that is structured while teaching and encouraging independence, discipline and tools to help you through your new path in recovery! The food is incredible and the private chef and sous chef will accommodate any preferences you have, (even how you like your steak! :)), allergies and changes to meals as you prefer. The food is from local farmers and butchers and the Chef makes everything with your health in mind. The facility is gorgeous and makes you feel at home with a private suite and fenced backdoor patio for each room. There is a waiting list so please find the recovery at Hickory House, before its too late. You and yours are worth it and life is precious to waste time that is meant to bring you happiness and a long healthy life. Thank you to the staff and residents for a beautiful beginning to my new journey. I miss you all but I am excited for whats in store for me next. I will be continuing Intensive Out Patient (IOP) to ensure a lifetime of health and happiness.

Parents, this is where you want your children to go if they need substance abuse help! Together we made a plan to get him there from jail and they never stopped doing what they could to help him find his way. The administrative staff was great, the therapists worked with him to uncover his problems, even the chef cared enough to personalize his meals when necessary. I am so very grateful for all their help!

Hickory house is a rehab i recommend. The rooms and staff are great & not to mention the food made everyday by the two personal chefs is unbelievably good. The staff are always making sure theyre doing whater takes to make the client happy. They always put you and your recovery first.I am so glad i chosel hickory house.

I am from Chicago and I have an addiction to alcohol and drugs. Back in October I decided I needed help with my problem. Perhaps just like you, reading this, I was having a very difficult time finding the “right” facility to help me. Every place I was referred to was loaded with 1* and 2* reviews. I was fortunate to be referred to Hickory House Recovery. The reviews on here are what gave me the courage to go to Start my recovery.From the moment Hickory House first called me, all of my fears and worries about starting a new life began to wash away. An amazing woman named Melissa was on the phone with me multiple times per day, even on her days off on the weekend, holding my hand through the early stages of the process. She really made me feel like I was the only person in the entire world that mattered. That is a theme that continued throughout the next 6 weeks of my life.Melissa strongly recommended that I go through a medical detox, because it can be dangerous to come off of alcohol and benzos without the help of 24/7 hospital care. Hickory House referred me to a couple places near them where I could do this, but I ultimately decided to detox at a hospital in Chicago.THANK GOD I listened to Melissa and Hickory House. Within 15 minutes of entering the hospital, I had a seizure. This sort of thing can happen when you quit drinking cold turkey. Had it not been for Melissa, I might have had that seizure while I was driving or something. I will always be thankful to her for that.After completing my detox, safely, Hickory House sent a staff member to Chicago to pick me up. That common theme of personalized care was continuing even before I had walked into Hickory House. The photos on their website are no joke. The place is amazing. The intake process is stress free and they really do a great job of making you feel comfortable from the very beginning.Having never been to rehab or attempted to quit drinking, I didn’t know exactly what to expect. For me, this place delivered on their promise to educate me about my disease.I learned so much about addiction while I was there. The classes that the counselors run are so informative. I really felt comfortable talking about all the various subjects. The other clients that were in the house with me also helped with the entire process. It was so nice to meet other people with my disease. I no longer felt like I was all alone.The entire staff at the house did a great job of keeping us on schedule and making sure we knew what time our classes were at, and with helping us throughout the day to day activities. Being from Chicago, I didn’t have any visitors during my stay. The staff took notice of that and really helped me with my loneliness.I really don’t know where I’d be right now if I didn’t go to Hickory House. I cannot say enough great things about the facility, the staff, and the clientele that were there during my stay. I felt like I was a part of a family. I made life long friendships while I was there. I have a future because of Hickory House. I could ramble on and on about how great Hickory House Recovery is, but I have an AA meeting to go attend!!Hopefully this review helps you or a loved one with their recovery.

I wanted to write a review on The Hickory House because my experience here was amazing! The minute I put in a request to learn more I received a message from Melissa that she would call me when she got into the office to do an over the phone assessment. She was so supportive when all of the other places I had called first weren’t even sure if they could take me. She guaranteed me I was welcome to come and that I would be able to get the help I needed. We set up my intake day and she checked up on me almost daily to make sure I was okay up until my check-in time. Every single employee made me feel at home from the day I arrived and that I was important and not just another number. My personal therapist was Katelynn and I felt so comfortable with her. She made sure to be available anytime I needed her and focus on everything I felt Was important. I had a family session and after that I didn’t think I was quite ready to go home so she pushed to get me and extra week with my insurance and it was approved. They won’t push you out and set you free until you are truly ready to leave. (Another thing about therapists is if you don’t feel that the one they chose for you is a good fit they will gladly move you to one that is a better fit for your needs) The BHTs are willing and ready to help 24/7. The Chefs are amazing and food was healthy and delicious! The facility is gorgeous and feels more like a vacation than a rehab unlike most other places in Indiana that feel like a hospital. They give you all the tools you need (groups, individual, yoga, outings, and so many other activities) to succeed outside once you leave so if you are willing to do the work then you should be set up for success to stay healthy and sober. I stayed for 35 days and today I have been sober for 90 days and never in a million years did I think I would be able to quit before I came here. I’ve never felt more healthy or happy and I would love to thank the Hickory House for giving me everything I needed to succeed and have my life back! I would highly recommend this place to anyone that needs to turn their life around because it is possible! If I can do it, you can too!

Saved my life from Alcohol was a wonderful place and treated me with dignity

I was very pleased with the treatment there and the very professional help I reserved there. It has been 8 months since I left and have maintained stability since then and now have the know now and mental tools to deal with the lows that keep us going around in circles I would recommend this facility to anyone that is actully trying to get help and better there life and get a better understanding on how to deal with life.

Sobriety does not come from going to rehab, YOU put the work in and that’s what Hickory House teaches and encourages you to do. They take you on outings that they pay for such as the movies, bowling, hiking and the zoo to name a small few. The chefs are extremely talented and will personalize your meals down to the last bite if requested and they will purchase you whatever food you ask for. The administrative team is extremely helpful and genuinely cares for the well being of their clients. I went here and left against medical advice within the same night (COMPLETEY my own doing and a huge mistake) and the marketing director personally reached out to me to let me know I’m welcome back when I am ready, and I came back a week and a half later and completed the program and absolutely loved every single minute of it. The programming is extremely informative and beneficial to recovery from any addiction, the techs are all experienced (some being in recovery themselves which offers clients someone in the staff they can relate to), very compassionate and friendly, and the therapists all know exactly what they’re doing and actually care about you. I felt loved at Hickory House. I felt like there were people who truly wanted my sobriety more so than I did at one point, and with their help I am becoming the person I was meant to be while abstaining from all drugs/alcohol. They also offer an IOP program which I am attending because Hickory House is simply the best substance abuse facility out there and even after completing their residential program I know the outpatient will be just as beneficial to my long-term sobriety. Before I went to Hickory House, I did not believe in the 12 step program, nor did I believe in a higher power. Now I am working the 12 steps with a sponsor who I met with the help of one of the techs, and I have a relationship with my higher power for the first time in my life. I am turning 21 this year, and have zero desire to touch a drop of alcohol because of what I learned while I was being treated here. I would truly beg anyone afflicted with the terrible disease of addiction to call Hickory House right now because they WILL give you the tools and resources to save your life and help you find true happiness.

Hickory House is one of the best treatment centers for patients with substance abuse that I have seen.It is a wonderful place to work with very caring, knowledgeable and hardworking staff.💞💞

Facilities were beautiful, really liked the on-site chef and the landscape and the Staff was extremely nice and helpful.

Toured the facility-- seemed really nice and the staff were very courteous. The only reason I gave it a 4 Star is because it was a little bit out of my price range!
