This place is sometimes good and sometimes not so good. I think the experience is based on who you talk to and/or what kind of service the customer needs. My experiences somewhere between 2 star and 4 stars on my visits. Every visits for break related, I give them 4 stars at least. for other mechanic services, I would say total experiences were not pleasant somehow. At least, they provide Free Air.

Albert, who I’ve learned is somehow the manager!!!, has clearly very little customer service experience and a serious attitude problem. Mavis is great for their low prices and selection of tires as well as their quick delivery of tires. But with the experience in this store and unfortunately many of them, I would recommend just purchasing the tires and going elsewhere for installation.I took my car down the block about 1 minute to great neck tire center. They got the job done in under an hour. No attitude, no lies about time estimates.Also, Nate behind the counter at this Mavis is a very nice guy, but the manager Albert is just clueless. Spoke to me literally like a baby when I asked a simple question that needed no attitude to respond.

Great service. Was in and out. All the guys / workers were a pleasure to be around and fixed my tire perfectly and did my state inspection there as well

Visited this shop late one night after work when I discovered I had a flat tire. Albert was nice enough to get me in even though they were about to close. Found the problem and fixed it. In and out in under an hour.

I purchased brand new tires for my car, they did not have them in stock so they were ordered right to the store and got here less than a week! The team worked efficiently and had great customer service. I’ve been here also for other services and they always let me know exactly what was going on and told me exactly what it is I may need. Anil Singh took great care of me, he is the manager. Ask for him if you need anything he is great. I definitely recommend coming to this location for any of you mechanic needs!

Last year I had a blow out on an old tire driving up to Pennsylvania. I went to a local Mavis and I was gonna get 4 new tires. I also needed 2 rear struts. The service there was excellent. I new down the line my front struts needed to be done. I went into this Mavis here on 200 northern blvd. I was greeted with good morning how can I help you I told them the history a man named Albert was very kind and caring and understood my needs for my car. I told him my Nissan service department care for my car has been going down the crapper they keep missing stuff I had a defective right front strut and they only replaced the one not both. Now while my car was being looked at the service manager actually had me come look at their findings. I had just had my car serviced by Nissan and he pointed out I also needed brakes. I looked at he brake pads and I saw they were down to nothing and my front rotors were bad after just had supposed being just serviced. Bottom line I had both front struts done, my front brakes and rotors brake system flushed wheel alignment sway bar links and let me say I am very pleased with the results. My car has never been better. I would highly recommend this particular Mavis on 200 northern blvd in great neck New York. Dimitry who worked on my car was amazingly great kind caring and let me watch while he worked from a distance. I will never goBack to my Nissan dealer ever again well I should say Star Nissan of bayside New York. The entire staff at this Mavis was amazing. I would take your car there for tires and your mechanical needs. Thanks you Albert, Singh and dimitry

Went in to have my tires checked and balanced since I had a bad shake at speed. Tyghe was professional and informative. Service was faster then expected. Price was more then reasonable. Lug nuts were even re-torqued with a torque wrench which I’ve never seen anyone do. Car drives smooth now. Thanks Mavis.

Great experience at Mavis. I was a Goodyear guy but they were closed and I had to replace my tire. Mavis was open, quick and efficient. They delivered my car back sooner than they estimated with a new tire, wheel alignment and brakes. Will go back to them again when Im in need.

Great service. Came for oil change and they noticed that I had a nail in my tire which they quickly fixed. I was back on the road within an hour!

My father recommended this shop to me the moment I popped my tire and I was surprised how quickly they can take in my car for repairs. They literally said “Come in as soon as possible. Fair, Fast, Honest and Best value!I have been bringing my jeep grand cherokee here for over a year. Ive had multiple flat tires and tried other tire shops, but after brining my jeep to this mavis I wouldnt bring my jeep anywhere else. The staff here are honest, quick and very fair with pricing. Very professional and provide excellent customer service. A very satisfied customer and I wont bring my Jeep anywhere else. I highly recommend!

My man Nate in the store held me down with good customer service and made sure I got a brand new tire and was in and out as soon as possible.

I came in and dropped my car off for a tire installment. The process was super easy! They told me it was $20 per tire installment and when I went to pick up my car, the guy actually didn’t charge me for one tire installment which is nice of him! I ended up only paying for two installments instead of one! Very nice of them to do so. Check them out if you’re around Great Neck and Bayside area!

This tire location took my appointment but didn’t event have the tires that I ordered available. My schedule was made, the customer service rep was just doesn’t care about customers schedule or time. It’s easy for them to say come back later, but what about my time and schedule!!! Terrible customer service. Make sure your tires are here before coming in die the appointment.

DISHONEST AND UNPROFESSIONAL. Brought in my car to repair two flat tires. He told me takes one hour. Sitting in the store patiently waiting. After one and a half hour, I go to find out when the car will be ready. The guy tells me my car is next to be checked as they still have not started looking at the car. The people here are rude and unprofessional as they did not bother to tell me that. Had I not asked what’s the update on my car after the 90 minutes of waiting, they will not let me know on their own what’s going on with the car.

Today I got one tire repaired due to a small leak. Customer service was amazing and the efficient staff had me on my way in less than 30 minutes. This location is always busy but every customer gets their needs met without any up selling of unneeded services. Over the years I have always brought my vehicles to this particular Mavis location on Northern Boulevard in Great Neck: Chevy, Ford, Nissan, Hyundai, BMW.They have consistently done a great job repairing or replacing my tires and I will continue to bring my vehicles there.Front desk guys are funny, courteous, and professional. I don’t look forward to having tire issues but when I do - Mavis is where I’ll go!

Today was my second visit and like the first, it was very good. However, Mavis needs to get their website together: I first had an appointment at their location on on Baisley Boulevard---I only went there because the website noted they had the tires for my car in stock. When I arrived, they could not find my appointment and then they said the tires I wanted were not available. The staff at the Baisley Boulevard location were rude and very unprofessional. In stark contrast, the staff at the University Gardens location were indeed very professional and helpful. I will say that both locations could stand a good cleaning in their waiting areas, especially the Baisley location---FILTHY beyond belief! Overall I am pleased with the University Gardens location and would certainly return.

Top notch service, the details show, they listened and wrote down my extra request on the work sheet, protective sheet on your seat and floor, also indicated tread depth without me asking when the tire turn out to be non repairable(for those of us with tire insurance).Highly recommended!

It’s quick when you have an appointment. The pricing of the tires are decent. But the service prices are a little above average. My other tire shop has great pricing, but this location is closer to my home. So you pay for convenience I suppose. Genesis tires has great pricing in service compared to this location.

Albert and Anil were in the shop after hours, waiting for a customer who had called to say he would be late. I had just blown a tire coming off the LIE the night before a big snow storm, and needed to be at work early in the morning and would need to leave extra early because of the snow. Despite it being 45 minutes after the time the shop should have been closed, they took me in and changed the tire in minutes with friendly and appropriately priced service. They were great! And clearly service is what comes to them naturally- they were there waiting for some other person after hours! Everyone who finds themselves needing a tire, should come see these guys!

Mavis Discount Tire definitely is your one stop shop! I’ve been coming to Mavis for 5 years now and I have not one single complaint! Management is great, service is amazing and everyone is so friendly! They go above and beyond to make sure your vehicle is safe and ready for your leisure’s. The store manager Tai definitely is the best! He has good professionalism and makes sure my vehicles get everything they need in order to drive safe! Scam shop, Dont come here to get your tires fix. Dishonest shop, states they cant patch my tire because nail hit the wall, after seeing the placement of the nail on my tire. I knew it was a scam and they were trying to make me buy a new tire. Went somewhere else, got it patched for 50 dollars. Do not come here. Worst place to go.Asian male and Indian male working the front desk seems nice but very dishonest. Dont trust them with you vehicle

Worst experience getting my car serviced here. Took 4 hrs to reseal 2 tires. Mechanics take there’s sweet time. Shop foreman/Supv guy lied straight to my face in an attempt to get me to try and fix things that don’t need repair. Would give 1/4 star if I could. Typical big chain car repair place. Better off going to small business mechanic.

The employee I spoke to accused me of lying about my issue, refused to look up my purchase, 4 new tires and an alignment, which I had to call the call center to confirm was done(poorly) at this location on August 19th of 2020. He insisted my tires were clearly many years old and I was lying about them being new. I do not recommend this location, they cant do an alignment right, and they clearly have never heard the term customer service.

I have been using Mavis for over 10 years at this location. I have found their service to be truly professional and high quality. I am never over-sold, and simple problems have always been kept simple. In my latest experience, Peter was able to order a replacement tire for my Tesla over the phone. It arrived the next morning and Tai was able to efficiently get the repair done while I waited. Sometimes these guys get overwhelmingly busy, but always seem to get the work done well, and in the time-frame promised. I will remain a long term customer.
