I took my wedding dress to Mrs. Sew and Sew after I found her in an article in the Tribune. First experience with a seamstress. She was quick, insightful, and gave me the dress I was looking for to wear to my wedding. The modifications included adjusting the straps, shrinking the dress to fit me (it was 3 sizes to big), and adding material to make it longer and covering my top half. The goal was to look like a saloon girl not be a saloon girl. Kim did just that in making my dress tasteful and beautiful. I love my dress and I will ask her again for any alterations I have as my first experience was a notable one.

I had her help me alter my dress a few months ago. I had a complicated dress but she was able to remove the train and shorten the dress itself while keeping the original detail on both the hem and waist of the skirt! She was very kind and listened to what I wanted and needed.Now my wedding is two weeks away and my dress does not fit as well anymore. I called her and she made room to see me that same day to get it fixed. I would definitely recommend her!

I had a botched alteration done to my wedding dress and had a week to find someone to fix it. Kim was beyond amazing! She worked me into her already crammed schedule with very compassionate, personalized service. I felt extremely comfortable with her as a person and as a seamstress. Repeat customer! I took a pair of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu gi pants to her because they didn’t fit very well. Kim did such an amazing job (they need to be reinforced to make sure they won’t tear) that I decided to take another pair. Same great quality as the first time and they fit amazing now. For the second time now she has taken a $200+ gi that didn’t fit well and made them fit perfect.

I brought in pants I bought online for Brazilian Jiu Jitsu that didn’t fit right. They have to be reinforced to withstand the strain from pulling on the fabric. Kim did an amazing job! The fit was perfect and she stitched them better than the manufacturer.
