I wanted to give much thanks to North Kent Guidance Services.I had my son tested there for ADHD and they did a wonderful job!The front staff was very friendly and was a positive experience with the doctor. Very helpful! Only concern is how difficult it is to get in due to them being so busy. Highly recommend them!

I found the therapists there to be really good and the secretaries to be kind and helpful. Really benefited my family! Thank you North Kent!

My son was tested for ADHD here and it was a horrible experience. They had someone take him in a room and do a test that was not the psychologist who wrote the report, and spent 1 hour with him on a computer. When we met for our follow up, the psychologist diagnosed my son with depression and anxiety after never spending 5 minutes with him. He literally took mine and his fathers mental health history and gave it to him. He also reprimanded us that we basically cause his depression because of his anxiety to do things how we want. After 5.5 hours of testing with another psychologist, we now have a legitimate diagnosis for multiple learning disorders. Don’t waste your time if you are trying to actually help your kids who are struggling. It’s taken 1.5 years for me now to get anywhere after his misdiagnosis at this place.

This was just going to be a trial run for me but I absolutely love my counselor. Dont know if I will ever stop seeing her. I know the point is to seek help, get help, and then move on. But shes pretty accurate and helpful on things I struggle with and so long as she is willing to help, I will keep going. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Depression runs in my family, so when RPS did a prelim screening my daughter did ask for help. I listened and contacted North Kent Guidance Services because I knew of its existence. Ive found the staff to be personable and quite willing to help those in need. Thank You NKGS for helping our teen daughter and our family keep it together.

I know that folks had problems with the front desk staff in the past, but there have been significant changes at the office and the front desk staff are nothing short of amazing. They are kind and very helpful. I have had nothing but wonderful interactions with them and I have been going there since early April 2019.

The counselors are nice but the front counter and how they run their system is a nightmare. I called to give them a fax number and they said they would give it to my counselor but then a month later my counselor needed the number because they never told him. They can’t keep track of payment history and won’t stop calling me at work saying I missed payments when I pay every single time I’ve been to their office. They’re creating so much hassle for me saying I need to check my credit card company and find my receipt. This is the second time going through this with them AFTER they already told me I was all set and perfect to go. I think they’re unprofessional the way they run things.

I agree with many of the reviews here. My counselor was good, however, the office staff was rude. Scheduling was often miscommunicated or mis-documented. I sought therapy to help with depression, anxiety, and ADD and dealing with the office staff created several near meltdowns for me. I stopped seeing my counselor and when I called the office to pay my bill I offered my feedback to the staff. I explained exactly how I felt, and that I hoped that no one who was truly in crisis came in seeking help and was treated the way I was. The staff member I spoke with simply said, Its too bad you feel that way and that I hadnt been there in the last month so how could I say that I had been treated poorly. Which was not true. I got charged for 2 appointments in April that I was told I did not have. I have sat in the office numerous times waiting for a doctor that had called in sick or was not there, and no one in the office even bothered to open the window and tell the doctor was not going to arrive. It is absolutely appalling to have a mental health and counseling facility treat people so poorly.

If i could give them zero stars, i would not hesitate. Thus office has cancelled on my son three times. Twice while sitting in the waiting room & once just hours before his appointment. This is supposed to be a mental health facility but they do not seem to care about thei patients or their parents mental health. I have half a mind to send them a bill for canceling on such short notice. This is unacceptable behavior from an institution that shiuld be supporting mental health not making it more difficult and stressful. Also the office lady is rude when scheduling appointments & accused me of non payment when they never sent a bill out to me. I would never recommend this place to anyone who is looking for a counselor.
