My daughter has been attending Sylvan learning for less than a month and we already see improvements in her reading and math skills. The staff is very friendly, helpful and professional. She loves coming here every week.

My son started going to Sylvan a few months back & I cannot express just how much it has helped him. It’s like he finally understands math & this has been reflected in his grades. Lauren specifically has helped him out tremendously but the whole staff has been nothing but helpful and compassionate. You can tell the whole team truly cares about what they do. Highly recommend this place.

My daughter enjoys attending Grand Rapids Sylvan Learning Center. The staff is completely awesome, helpful and understanding. Sylvan has helped my daughter gain confidence and learn reading and math. Tutors are very helpful and patient with students.

Sylvan does an excellent job helping students. The teachers do a great job of building confidence within the students to help them achieve their goals. Theyre also extremely friendly and will to go above and beyond to help each student.

Last Spring when my son went virtual, I noticed that he had no interest in completing his writing lessons and when he did, he really struggled. After some research, I decided to enroll him in Sylvans writing program.Since my son started, I have seen so much improvement in the quality his writing. More importantly, to me, he has a new found engagement and enthusiasm that I owe to the team at Sylvan!

As a homeschool mom, the Grand Rapids Sylvan has always been very willing to accommodate our more unique, daytime schedule. I really appreciate how hard theyve worked to provide the tutoring my son needs while also considering the time of day that works best for him and our schedule.

We started sending our son to Sylvan in an effort to make up what was lost due to the Covid school closures in the spring. We’ve been going for a few weeks and it’s been great. He’s been meeting objectives at warp speed and loves that he has fun doing it. Through his hard work and dedication, he earned enough credits to pick out a prize. In the car on the way home, as he was holding his color-changing Christmas tree, he said, “Hard work really does pay off, Mom!” Great lessons are being learned all around!

SYLVAN IS THE BEST! I received tutoring from Sylvan 26 years ago and now my two boys (4/5th grade)are attending. The staff at Sylvan are very knowledgeable, friendly and provide outstanding customer service. The tutors are super friendly and my boys enjoy learning. I am a 60 yr old nurse that has one more class to finish my degree (BSN). I have had a lot of anxiety about signing up for my LAST class- which is algebra! I love Sylvan! I started here nervous about the community tables etc but every time I come here I feel I am in a positive, comforting environment. Each teacher has multiple methods to help explain the lessons and work on the iPads. They have many resources and are very helpful with a broad range of things. The community at Sylvan is overall a very positive, driven, diverse group of people, and the staff helps to keep it that way. I am a student currently attending Sylvan, and going here has helped me be better prepared for taking tests, going through lessons and work in school, and has taught me things that I may not have gone over in school. If you or someone you know are considering going to Sylvan I strongly recommend joining and making progress in a fun, effective way.

My daughter has a learning disability and has been a student at Sylvan for almost two years. Sylvan has helped her gain the knowledge and therefore the confidence she needs to tackle her school work. My 12 year old son and 8 year old daughter both attend Sylvan over the summer for enrichment. They both love it there! The environment is condusive to learning. The teachers and staff are friendly, helpful and highly competent. My kids appreciate how the center makes learning fun! I also appreciate the results we have seen in study skills, organization, and confidence.

I am my grandsons driver for his classes at Sylvan. When I pick him up, I am seeing a change in his attitude toward what he is doing, and it is great to see! He is taking pride in achieving goals, and can talk about what he is doing with confidence. Wonderful!

Absolutely love this place and would recommend. My son did pre-K here and now my daughter is getting extra kindergarten help. All the staff is beyond sweet too!

Went here back when I was in high school because I needed help with math, every time I went for some reason they had me do english. I never needed english or reading assistance those scores were great. Waste of time

We started Sylvan tutoring to help our youngest between his kindergarten and 1st grade year to prevent the backward slide and help his momentum going into first grade. My son went from a kindergartener unsure of answering in front of his class and not wanting to talk about school when he came home to being excited about telling us about what he already knows in class when it is covered and being confident in himself as well as his abilities.

I have been going to Sylvan Learning Center for one year and I am a non- traditional student at GRCC. It has been a wonderful experience for me. I have come from a C student to an A student. The teachers have been instrumental in my success. The environment is conducive to learning, the staff is extremely qualified, helpful, and friendly. Overall it has been a positive experience for me.

The teachers have been encouraging and supportive. Their token/reward system keeps my child interested and motivated.

We were impressed from the first meeting with the Sylvan Learning Center team. They provided a customized tutorial solution for our child. We appreciate the time and dedication this team has to support us.

Last year my son really began to struggle in school. He started to develop a negative attitude towards school, homework, and learning. I sent him to Sylvan in March and now he is ready to start the next year, and he will even be ahead of the curve a little on some subjects. He loves going to Sylvan and he would often say he wanted Sylvan to be his new school. He loves the positive reinforcment through earning tokens which he can then use in their store. We have even started implementing some of those initiatives at home. I would highly recommend Sylvan to my friends for their children!

My son attended the Kindergarten Readiness Camp this summer and he absolutely loved it!! The staff and teachers were fabulous and very welcoming. He came home excited to tell me everything he was learning and about the tokens he was earning! In the first two days, he learned how to spell his name - something I had been working on with him for weeks! The program was definitely tailored for his learning level and in two short weeks, I was amazed at how much he learned. So glad we enrolled him for this enrichment program this summer. We will definitely be looking at adding in the Beginning Reading program to his fall schedule in addition to preschool.

My son enjoys coming here and seems to be doing better in math. I like the monthly conferences they have with us to keep us updates.

I was referred to Sylvan by a friend. Her son had reading problems and Sylvan had helped him considerably through the summer so he was better prepared for the start of school.Unfortunately this was not the case for us. We brought our son in for an assessment. During the assessment the instructor busied herself with her emails and surfing the web (which we could see from where we were seated) She paid no attention to our son except to reprimand him for not paying attention well enough and threatening him (do you want to be here all night!). Finally she determined that it wasnt going to work today.We will NEVER go back. Children that require tutoring are also children that require patience - something that this location has none of. I am not saying Sylvan the organization is low quality, just that our experience with one of their staff and how she treated a 7-year-old that needs a CONFIDENCE boost, not to be scolded and ignored, could not have been WORSE.
