I am normally not one to leave bad reviews, because that is just not who I am. However, my recent experience at The Tailors left a bad taste in my mouth. I came in and requested alterations on a bridesmaid dress. They squeezed me in their busy schedule which was very nice, and provided me an estimate. I left with a pick-up slip that also stated in writing what I was quoted. I went to pick up the dress, tried it on, and was very pleased with the job that was done. As I went to pay, the girl checking me out said “I quoted you wrong originally, here is your actual total.” (which was 50% higher). I asked her if there was anything that they could do considering it was their mistake and mis-quote. They chose not to honor their original quote or even meet me somewhere in the middle. I thought the way they handled it was unprofessional, honestly. I understand it was just an estimate, but 50% over is quite a difference. A difference in which I would have chosen a cheaper place for my alteration needs. I left and knew right away I won’t be returning. For a small business like this to not put customer service first and just honor the price that was given, is really unfortunate. They messed up and the customer paid for it. They could have done better.

Had a awesome experience there!!! I brought my motorcycle vest up there to have patches sewn on. The last place (on Leonard st) told me it was impossible to sew my patches on without sewing the pocket half shut...The lady from The Tailors told me it was no problem to get my patches where I wanted them and still be able to have full use of my pockets and she explained to me the process. They are very professional and very welcoming to everyone. Their price was better and the quality of work Im sure will be way better!! Very happy customers, I will be sending others your way for sure!!

I have a beautiful wool coat I purchased in Germany 20 years ago. The lining was falling apart and The Tailors did such a nice job putting in a new lining. Their work was excellent and now looks like I have a new coat! Thank you!

I made no purchase. My son needed to be measured for a uniform. The service was provided free of charge. What a wonderful thing to do!

This place is amazing. Diana is the best. Ive had nothing but good experiences here. Diana is a master tailor. Ive brought expensive dresses here to have complete over-haul alterations and they always look amazing.

Very poor customer service: I took my wedding dress in for a quote for alterations. I was told she would have to pin it all before offering a quote so I put it on and she asked if I was in love with it in a displeased way (you should never say that to a bride in her wedding dress). The quote was twice as high as another place and when I wanted to take the dress to another place, it was made to be a big deal to have to take the pins out when I asked for a quote before pinning to begin with.

Diana is marvelous. I will never go to another tailor. She keeps my beautiful clothing fitting perfectly. This place is the best.

This was my second experience with alterations. My first was not a happy one. My second experience exceeded my expectations.The Tailors exemplify the term tailors. I did not need an appointment even though I had many garments. I was treated professionally. I knew I needed things shortened. I knew I had pieces that didnt fit quite the way I wanted. The Tailors made recommendations and explained the reason behind their recommendations. I thought the time they took to complete my tailoring was excellent. I find them affordable. This was such a pleasant experience, I can hardly wait to need alterations again.

Second attempt in 3 months to give them business. And there business is extremely strong where they turn it down. Most recently they didn’t even take the time to see what was needed before they said no they are too busy. Good problem to have I assume. But the work needed was extremely minor and maybe if they asked they could have found that out. Needed 3 days from visit.

I brought the pants to my $2,500 Canali suit here to be hemmed up a little because of a small snag I got a the hem line. They are closer to my house than my normal tailor and thought I would give them a try. Big mistake. The workmanship was terrible and the girl who did the sewing looked to be barely 20 years old. You could see the thread all the way around the pants where they were sewn and she had gone around two times on each leg, so there were two lines of thread. The pants also did not lay flat where they were sewn but had little waves in them. The girl brought out the person I assume is the owner and despite admitting to making a host of errors they had made such as using the blue thread instead of black, having the tension set wrong on the machine, going around the hem twice instead of once, and doing a terrible job pressing the pants, she still refused to refund my money. They may be the cheapest place around but there is obviously a reason for that. I will bring the pants to my regular tailor who can hopefully repair this. I own a lot of suits and have a lot of tailoring work done and have never seen anything like this work.Stay Away.

I brought my most favorite vintage Saks coat in that had torn on the seam of the shoulder. They were able to sew it up in under five minutes, and didnt even charge me. I will definitely be back in to have pants hemmed and my husbands winter jacket repaired once spring rolls around. I would reccommend this shop to anyone.
