The entire situation I was dealing with was listened to intently and I was given excellent advice and direction. To be honest, I expect attorneys to be rather cold and detached, but I got the sense that my situation actually mattered and my case would be fought for.I was give solid legal advice and practical steps to follow as a course of action. I was told that taking these steps may resolve the issue on its own (since I was being falsely accused, my main intention was to get those spreading rumors to stop, but was prepared to take action if that did not happen) The advice I was given seems to have been very effective, but I feel very confident that if I continue to face problems, the Van Den Heuvel Law Office is going to take care of this quickly, efficiently and professionally.As a side note, Im surprised by some of the reviews that claim they only want your money. That was so far from the impression I got. In fact, I was told they would be quite happy for me if I was able to resolve this on my own and never even hired their firm. The consultation was free and the advice given was priceless. Im out nothing and they gave me their valuable time to help me out. If I find myself in a situation again where I need this type of attorney, this is where Im going to turn. Yes, attorneys charge money- and for good reason, and I will pay them whatever their rate is because after my experience Ive already had with them, I guarantee its more than fair. My experience with them was excellent!

We met with Howard to get his wisdom when dealing with parenting time modification. He was extremely helpful and his wisdom and experience showed as he was very knowledgeable on the process. Howard also made himself available for what they refer to as “a-la-carte”, meaning they can give you counsel right over the phone for a time rate. I am a semi truck driver. I was issued an impeding traffic citation in Grand Rapids area. Called the firm to get advice on whether there is any point of fighting the ticket. They were very professional about it. They explained to me that it is a non-point ticket and that I was better off paying the fine and not waste my money on an attorney help.

Sat down for a consolation today with Justin. He was very welcoming. I had a great experience. Justin was very honest with me and listen to everything I had to say. I had a brief consultation with Howard. While I did not retain his services, and thus cannot state his qualifications as a trial lawyer, I can state that he is a thorough, up front and honest individual. We discussed my situation and came to the conclusion that there was a very unlikely chance that the outcome would be in my favor and that retaining his services would simply be throwing good money after bad. Dont get me wrong, he was willing to take on the case, but also stated that it might not be the most effective use of my funds.Hes realistic and straightforward, and I would most certainly consider him for future legal services.

I had the divorce from hell. My husband took all of my stuff and locked me out of the house when I was at work. Then the judge would not let me back in to get my stuff or see my children. Howard hammered those SOBs and I even got joint legal and physical of our children.Howard was a good friend though all of this and an aggressive fighter for me. I would not recommend This law firm to anyone. You are better off representing yourself. Howard Van den Heuvel miss represents himself. First of all he is an advocate for fathers rights so for all of you mothers who are looking for help, look else where. When my wife hired him to do some work for her I ended up doing most of the research work for him in order to get our case moved to our state because he doesnt even know the case law for the state of Michigan. worthless!!!! He wouldnt go after her ex when he was ordered to pay her legal fees. Her ex owed her back support, she had a lien on the back support, he recieved his lump sum and spent it and she never got a dime and Howard never did a thing about it, even though he violated the liens. He refused to take it to court!!! And then he is trying to double bill us using some line that he changed his accounting system and doesnt have the old system so we cant see the copies from all of the old filing system he used to have. Gee Howard what would you show the IRS if they come to audit you? Hmmmm thats an idea!!!!! ONE LAZY ATTORNEY RIGHT HERE FOLKS!!!!

I had a very poor experience with Justin. The original price I was told I would have to pay practically doubled. I asked him multiple times not to send letters to my house. He continued to send them then charged me for it.

Spoke and within a short time had my issues relayed to the correct place and pointed me in the right direction.

Very disappointed. NO WORK was ever attempted for my case in a year and a half, no communication, nothing. Granted, it wasnt a very important case as compared to some, but it certainly was important to me!

I hired the Van Den Heuvel law firm to represent. Me in a theft case, the lawyers Justin & Howard were attentive, able to articulate the situation Both with the evidence and storyline, were easy to get in touch with and responded quickly, I would use them again and recommend others to do the same.

Howard was the worst attorney i have ever used. He billed for services before they were even preformed. Had to fire him and hire another attorney because he was just money hungry .
