They had a cancellation and we’re able to get my car in on short notice. Friendly and up to date technologically as they send estimates for approval via text and email for immediate approval. Fast and efficient.

Jamie and Megan are super nice, and Eric does a great job being totally transparent with you about your car. The online portal through which you select services and pay is well-made and easy to use. Wonderful experience! Out of 4 places called Monday morning they were the only ones who could get to my vehicle that week. Having an accessible vehicle (due to my daughter being wheelchair bound) I can’t be without it for long periods. Meghan was easy to talk with and she got me on the books for that day, telling me upfront she could only guarantee it back to me by Wednesday. Not a problem! They are on the high end of normal repair costs and their diagnostic fee is added on to the final cost, not part of it (which was a surprise to me). I loved how we could do everything on line/by phone and the lockbox made it easy to get my vehicle back- a day ahead of schedule!

I think the price to check my truck out to determine the problem was a bit high, but I was given a loaner car to use while they serviced my truck, so I guess it all even out. The two women working the front desk were awesome!

My experience was good here. Everyone I spoke to was professional and kind. Only chose to not use their services because the vehicle wasn’t worth the money. But will go back if I ever need work done. They have everything online so you get updates often and very easy to understand.

As a woman I have always felt immensely intimidated when visiting a mechanic. This is due to the fact that I know zero about cars! My insecurities were met with Megan’s smile and willingness to help me get my car, Susan back on the road safely—being sure to explain everything along the way. I immediately felt at ease when I met my mechanic, Bruce! His kind nature and realism when telling me what needed to be fixed added to the comfortability I felt at Ervines. Very friendly people and very professional service. I really like the system they use for communication. You can talk to someone in person on the phone but they also San U emails and text. I filled out a short form online for a scheduled appointment. The following business day I received and email and text with The confirmation. I lived a short distance away and didnt have a ride home and they gave me a ride home. After several hours I received the email with the link to a page that explained what was wrong and what needed to be fixed. All I had to do was check the boxes of what I wanted done and they did it. When the work was complete they sent an email with the link To the bill and I paid it online and picked up my car. The keys were hanging on the door waiting for me. Excellent service and a great job Done.

Ervines will always be the place I take my vehicle. I work 2 jobs so having the option for a loaner car is a life saver. They stand by their work and they explain clearly what needs to be done with your vehicle as well as ways to make sure you can get the most life out of your car.

I’ve used other mechanics on previously owned vehicles but since I found Ervines I’m a loyal customer. I definitely trust them as much as my dealership to keep me safe on the road. Now they are pricier but it is a better ticket than the dealership service center. You pay for what you get—and quality parts and service are worth every penny! I’ve come to Ervines to service my Chrysler 200 on several occasions, never for the same service. I appreciate that they do their best to get you in and out ASAP. They offer detailed estimates with notes and pictures so you know you’re not just getting pushed for unnecessary services.They answer any questions I have without hesitation or attitude. The loaner vehicle is a bonus so I’m not spending time off from work or extra spending for ride share while waiting for my car to return.

After a bad experience at another auto shop, I took my Honda CR-V to Ervines Auto Repair. When I first called, I was warmly greeted by Megan. I was encouraged by the fact that she took the time to truly listen to what was going on with my car. She worked me into their schedule quickly, and assured me that her family would properly diagnose and fix my car. I was told by another auto shop that day that I needed a transmission rebuild. There were many red flags at the other auto shop, and I wanted another opinion. I dropped my car off at the end of business on Monday, and got a call from Bruce on Tuesday morning letting me know that they diagnosed the problem. I needed an oil change. Yes, you read that right - An oil change. I was told by another auto shop that I needed a new transmission. Ervines knew that. After looking at my vehicle, they determined that there was nothing wrong with my transmission. I was absolutely blown away! They did a full inspection of my car and gave me recommendations about other maintenance that was due. They have a portal in which they can share photos with you, which was really nice. We authorized them to do several other repairs while it was in the shop. Ervines fixed the problem I was experiencing with my car (caused by low oil) and made sure everything else was in good working order. They have gained my trust, and I will be a loyal customer moving forward. Thank you for the great service, Megan and Bruce!

We went to Ervines for a pre-sale inspection on a used vehicle. They gave us a comprehensive, digital report with pictures and notes on each item of concern. I called to talk more about the report, and the mechanic was patient with me and answered all of my questions. They gave me an honest opinion about whether or not to buy, and I appreciate their insight and in-depth overview of the inspection. Highly recommend!

I found Ervines Auto repair on google and decided to give them a try. I had a electrical gremlin which was diagnosed as a bad body module. The Module took almost 2 weeks to get there. I was able to drive a loaner that they provide at no charge. The electrical gremlin seems to be gone and I plan on going back for other needed repairs.

Overall, great service. I was going to use a different mechanic, but theseguys were able to squeeze me in. Friendly service and decent pricing.

I reached out to Ervine’s Auto Repair Grand Rapids Hybrid to run a diagnostic report on a used vehicle that I am considering to purchase. Bruce was very polite and extremely helpful with setting up the appointment. He provided an overview of the services and quote via e-mail. Everything went as according to planned, I dropped the vehicle off and was informed of the findings electronically as well as spoke to Bruce in detail regarding my concerns. We had a confusing issue with the spark plug going bad. They did a full inspection of the vehicle, talked us through he problem and our options. They were prompt and communicated well, plus the rental car was a huge help! They were so professional and kind! We will be going back for sure!

I contacted Ervines and told them I was fairly certain my high voltage battery on my hybrid was bad.I explained that I do not just want a replacement. I was very clear that I was looking for other options, such as replacing only the bad cells rather than a whole new battery.They said Id have to have it in for an inspection. After the inspection I was told (as I suspected) the high voltage battery needed to be replaced and was only told then that they wont rebuild or replace bad cells.I was disappointed that I wasnt informed of this when I initially called and made it clear that thats all I was interested in hiring them for. It wouldve saved me time and money.

Super friendly staff. I accidentally yelled at the lady on the phone because I thought she was a robot but it just turned out that she has an extremely friendly voice. She was very knowledgeable and was able to help me set up an appointment to get my truck worked on.

Always the best service here. They use quality parts, and are very professional. I love the fact that they check your whole car out, and recommend service that will be needed in the future. This gives me the option of doing it myself, or bringing it back in at a future date for them to do the repair, or bring it elsewhere if I choose. Also love that the mechanic calls me to discuss the repair if it’s beyond the cost of the quote they gave me. This last time, he called to tell me he saved me money. Who does that these days? Take your car here for repairs, real mechanic’s work here, you get what you pay for. Megan and Jamie in customer service are the nicest people you will ever meet. I’ve spent 5 grand here in the last two years, on major and minor repairs, so I guess I’m paying them for this review, but they deserve it.

I had the most amazing experience with Ervines Auto Repair & Grand Rapids Hybrid. I inquired about a repair and by 7:30 am, the next morning I had a quote back from Eric that was 1/6 the cost that the dealership quoted. Eric, Megan, and Jamie were awesome to work with! One of the best customer service establishments I’ve come across not only in auto repair but in general. They are extremely courteous and value the customer’s time and how they feel. We all know repairs and finances can be stressful and emotional and they really are in tune with that and their customers. Quick response time and we’re able to get us in as soon as they could. I can’t express how much and nice it was to have people who went above and beyond to care about my needs and to make me comfortable as well as help me out when I was waiting. I take both my Prius and Outback here for repair and general maintenance. You might pay a little more than other mechanics, but I personally pay more to have the peace of mind and quality of work. They are always friendly and take extra time to make sure you understand what will be done and rebates are provided if you continue to do business with them. Loaner cars are provided (when available) and all transactions can be managed online.

Firstly, I was very happy to find a well reviewed shop that was open during the pandemic and I appreciate the no contact way the shop is operating.I was very happy with the quality of the work, the pictures provided so I could see what was being worked on, and the ability to approve each piece of work. The labor and parts did seem a little overpriced however this is my first time getting work done in Michigan so it might be normal for here. Despite this, I have no complaints about the work and theres a good chance Ill return after doing some price checking around the area.

Ive been having my car repaired and maintained at Ervines for several years. They are honest and they treat me well. As a woman, Ive had awful experiences with car repair shops and dealerships in the past. Ive always been treated respectfully here. They explain things clearly and Ive never once been talked down to. This is a big deal. Im happy to support a female-owned business too! I get free oil changes for life from the dealership where I bought my car and I choose to pay for them here instead, if that tells you anything.

Everything they do is online and very user-friendly. They had a loner car that was a very nice one that I used all weekend til my car was done Monday Afternoon. They are very friendly and Professional and did A+ work on my brakes both front and back, cabin Filter, as well as flushed and cleaned brake fluid with new fluid added. I 100% intend to use them again in a few weeks to get the bearings fixed on my Equinox.Of course its expensive but so are most car problems considering how long I waited and how bad the brakes and rotors were...but it was no where near what i expected. Youll be happy if you took your car there..100%!!!

I went to Ervine’s for some major repair work on my 06 Prius by recommendation. The car needed a lot of issues addressed, so I had a full service check performed. I replaced everything the car needed. They provided me with the most extensive, detailed invoice including pictures of all of the issues with my car. The transparency at the shop is absolutely incredible. They even had record of work performed on my car from before my ownership. Eric is incredibly knowledgeable and explained technical details about the technology in my car in a way that was concise and easy to understand. When I got my car back I was absolutely blown away by how good it felt. It drives like a brand new car, and every single issue was addressed and corrected. The service on behalf of the entire shop made the experience of getting extensive repair work done actually enjoyable! I didn’t think this was possible! Thank you so much for the outstanding service, all other repair shops should take a lesson from you!

Megan was beyond helpful and so nice! I dropped my car off not expecting it to be looked at same day since it was so last minute, I got a call a couple hours later with a list of everything that needed to be done and an answer to the main issue that I brought it in for. They email you all estimates and you can approve each individual item that you would like done. They dont pressure you into fixing everything all at once but do give you the option. They also sent me pictures of everything that was wrong with a little detailed explanation. For a spur of the moment choice, they exceeded my expectations and I will refer everyone to them. 20/10!

The tests they run are so much more thorough then any repair garage we have ever been to. This may be a good place for a woman that doesn’t know anything about car maintenance.They will overcharge you with a smile.I went in because Muffler Man told me that I needed a tie rod end.I made and appointment with Ervines because of thier previous reviews and they were close to my work. Then I received an E-mail stating I would be charged a $139.00 inspection charge, and I was asked to approve it before the service. It seemed excessive, but I agreed.The day of the service, the technician called and said I needed a tie rod end, both inner and outer. They recommended a front end allignment too.The estimate came in at over $800.00!! They were charging $430.00 for the parts. I went to Rockauto.com and found the same parts in thier quote for $129.00 shipped to me.Eric, the owner told me that they are not in the same relm as a parts store. Same relm? Ervines isnt in the same universe!!Why charge a customer $430 for $129 worth of parts, not to mention $450 to install a set of spark plugs!When I declined the work they still charged me $142.00 for telling me what I already knew! Do yourself a favor and avoid Ervines at all cost.I wouldnt even expect that kind of upcharge from a dealership!

We took our Prius here for the first time for routine maintenance and brake work. They had it fixed within 24 hours and kept us updated throughout the process, plus they provide a free loaner car. Everyone we talked to was so nice. I was really impressed and we will definitely be back!

I used Ervines for some routine work in 2019 on my Honda CRV. I asked for, and they provided a comprehensive evaluation of the needs of my car. I had the services they suggested, and knew were needed. They offered a loaner car, which was helpful. A year later, I notices a weird noise from a rear wheel, and asked them to look at it. They took the car into their shop the same day, provided transportation, and had the work done by the end of the day. They told me it was a defective part, and warranted all the work, and I left with no bill. Ervines are honest, responsive, and were great to work with. I appreciated their service.

I don’t usually do the “review game” but this one is important to me. I purchased a used car several years ago and when it had some issues, I received a reference to Ervine’s from a friend, as well as finding them as “recommended” on a NPR Car Talk Reddit thread. I took my vehicle there and never looked back! THEY ARE AMAZING!If you need any recommendation on a honest mechanic, how about this!... Near the end of that used vehicle, it developed an engine issue. The Ervines’ mechanics were so honest, they gave me three best options:1). Repair what we can see @ ‘estimate’ but there could be additional unknown repairs once we open the engine2). Replace the engine all together @ ‘estimate’3). If you can afford it... buy a new/different vehicleCan you imagine a more honest repair shop; one that has that much integrity? They were literally so honest with me, they gave me legitimate advice that could cause me to purchase a brand new vehicle that would ultimately end my consumer-consistently with them... at least for several years! To top it off, they even offered their free loaner to me, for days, while I thought about my options!I did end up buying a new Camry. I love it and honestly got advice from Ervines on what to look for when purchasing a new car. It isn’t due for any repairs at this time, and probably won’t for a while, but I know where I’ll be taking it when it does!

Ervines is my first choice for car repair. I always feel like they do an extremely thorough job. It’s hard to find a mechanic you feel you can trust. More than once, they have told me that my problem was covered under warranty and it would be free if I took it to the dealership for repair, even though they could have fixed it.The staff are always super friendly and easy to talk to. They always answer the phone. Sometimes after hours. I feel like they actually care about my situation. I’ve never had to wait long to get an appointment, like I have with other service places. I am usually surprised with how quickly my car is done and Bruce always calls with updates while working on it. I really appreciate the loaner cars provided free of charge. That’s a nice touch other places don’t do. I really like the text and email updates. And now with the COVID19 restrictions, everything can be done by smartphone or computer, including estimates.,work authorization and payments. I would highly recommend Ervines. (Note: I realize this is the same review I left after my previous service appointment But it is still relevant so I decided to repost after this current visit).

Quoted $150 for just checking of car headlights not working!Edited after feedback: I just replaced both of the headlamps together at nominal price. There was no major fault as explained in the reply. You should check first at lower price and then quote high if require.

Their ability to stay on the cutting edge in regards to customer service and keeping me involved in the repair process through posting pictures, comments, and recommendations (that I can approve at the simple click of a button!) makes it a no brainer to come to them every time. I never have to worry about the stress of not having a vehicle because they provide a loaner from their fleet of cars which means my schedule is hardly interrupted and I can go to work as planned.

They repaired our vehicle in less than a day, even though we had to drop it off hours before they even opened without an appointment. They really helped us out in a stressful situation where we almost had to miss a medical appointment and possibly end up without a car hours from home.The staff were extremely empathetic, which makes a huge difference when something like this happens and they have to be the most kind of all the shops weve been to... we really appreciate how fast they were able to get us out of a bind.

They are the experts on electric cars. The owner took the time to come out and look over my daughters used Prius and discuss pros and cons of the vehicle and give his advice on how to address some of the issues she was having. Exactly the kind of expertise one looks for.
