Absolutely marvelous!! Wonderful teachers.
If youre looking to build confidence, not be challenged, and receive three, seven minute life lessons throughout a 45 minute class then this place is for you. The school doesnt separate martial art lessons between belt classes, so you dont ever expand your martial arts knowledge and therefore youre not challenged. You have to buy the ATA branded sparring gear, however, sparring is a tap only concept which makes me wonder why the gear is even a requirement. Lastly, classes are ran very disorderly, because you never knew what gear requirement was needed for the day. The school house Master will have you get weapons but never use them, put more sparring gear on just to take some of it off in 10 minutes, or run around the floor practicing what seems to be gymnastics. We left after one month for a different school.
Instructors are amazing with kids.Very good teachers.
ATA Helped me with self confidence and the ability to defend myself. I havent been to a class in a while, but yall should head over there and see them. They are wonderful people, they remember your name and they are very respectful. They are the better places to learn self discipline in Grand Forks.
Fair price. Great instruction. If you want your child to learn discipline, manners and self confidence, this is the place.
Master Mihalek disserves to be called a Master. My son enjoys every lesson with him. My husband and I are very happy with the method of teaching that Master Mihalek follows.
Best martial arts instruction in Grand Forks! I have had opportunity to train with Master Mihalek many times, and he is knowledgeable, patient, and determined to help you learn. Highly recommended!
ATA has done wonders for my son. They are incredibly patient and work wonderfully with children teaching them some great life skills.
The first day I walked into ATA I was shocked that the students were responding to their instructor with “Yes, sir”, And “No, sir”. They were respectful, very respectful toward him. He wasn’t demanding or demeaning. He was kind. Kindness is something that is lacking in all of us these days. The second day I walked into ATA he knew my name. He remembered the names of my two sons. He looked me in the eye and shook my hand like a gentleman. He smiled. He actually cared.Master Mihalek was born to teach. His passion is Taekwondo and it shows through every single thing he says and does. We recently moved away from Grand Forks and we were sad to leave this place. Both of my sons gained confidence, strength, and the ability to defend themselves. The one unexpected thing they carried with them was the ability to know how to walk away from a bad situation without resorting to violence.Master Mihalek gives his students 100% of himself every single day. We need more of him in this world. If you’ve ever thought about taking up a martial art or think your kid could benefit. Stop in and just watch. You might just find a place where you belong.
