Hands down, the most disappointing service I have ever received. Our dishwasher was broken and just out of warranty. Contacted Whirlpool to see what could be done and even though we knew what the issue was, it was mandatory for these guys to come out to verify and pay a $95 service fee (01 July 2021). That’s fine, we acknowledged the fee because it was required in order for our dishwasher to be fixed. The technician was at our house for less than 5 minutes and confirmed what we knew was already broke and we have the home security footage to prove it. He basically showed up, hit the start button on the dishwasher and said “Yep, it’s a sump pump issue. It’s $95 for this service charge and they’ll call me back within 1-3 days for a quote on the parts/labor.” It took longer to write the check than for him to LOOK at the dishwasher for diagnosis. What we didn’t know was we would never hear back from them… No calls, no text, no emails, NOTHING for over 2 months. I finally got in touch with them and explained the situation. For weeks, Nina told me they were looking into it and they would refund me if they realized they messed up.So what happened?? Nina essentially said it was my fault and I paid for the services that I received. Take it for what it’s worth but we submitted all the footage and documents to Whirlpool and they will likely remove Carolina Appliance Repair from their list of “approved” appliance repair companies. I’m sure they fix stuff from time to time but this company will never get another dollar from us and I’ll be sure to let everyone else know what kind of business these guys do.

Have have moved over 13 times as an adult and my husband even more so being former military. With every move, you inherit someone elses problems. This team has been a wealth of knowledge. I have asked the owner for advice on and off over the years. He has always given an honest and fair assessment of my situation. He has been a great reassuring advisor especially when my husband has been away. I have never been directed wrong. You will always win with this team!

Scott was on time, courteous, and professional. There was nothing technically wrong with my refrigerator so he did not charge me for coming out to look at it. He explained why I am having the problems, which are minor. Would definitely recommend using them to others.

I had an appointment scheduled for today, I was feeling under the weather but told the technician that I would wear a mask because I have been without my dryer for over a week. He told me he would call the office and get back to me. I’ve been calling every number I have all day and not one person has bothered to even call me back. If you’re looking for professional and dependable, then keep looking cause they are horrible!

My washer needed repair in January 2020. The Owner determined it needed a bearing and contacted whirlpool for the warranty. He order the part and called in March for an install date. The day of the install he called and claimed the part was damaged. I have contacted the office each month for status on the repair and was told the part would take two days to get. After six months and no call backs from the office I wouldnt believe them if their tongues came notarized. One of the worst company I have ever dealt with. Those that will lie about a little thing will lie about everything.

This company was selected to complete a warranty repair and they called and said they could not show up to the scheduled time provided by the warranty company. We had 4 different people call and leave messages to re-schedule. No one called back and were not helpful in ever getting the service scheduled. DO NOT recommend if you want someone to actually answer the phone or get any info to you.

Dont use this company! They came out to repair my dryer. It needed a new heating element. The tired to charge me $260 for the hearing element alone. Which is CRAZY the exact part on amazon is around $50! People do your research before you buy. This is borderline criminal! DONT DO BUSINESS WITH THESE CROOKS!

Repair window was supposed to be between 12:00-5:00 pm. I got a call at work at 9:30 am that he was on his way. Luckily my son was still home, as I could not just leave work. No phone call to change appointment time either.My fridge had a leak in the water line. After he repaired the fridge, my son called stating that it was not working.I called repairman to see if he truly fixed it, as the ice maker nor water was coming out. I asked him if he turned the water on to which he said he didnt realize it was turned off. I was told that I needed to unplug my fridge 24-48 hrs prior to them coming . The water had been turned off for a month now, due to a leak in the water line. He never turned the water back on.Luckily when I returned home, I turned the water on, and everything was working beautifully. Disappointed, but at the end of the day, everything worked out.

Worked with this team and Whirlpool to repair our washing machine. They were very helpful and responsive unlike Whirlpool’s warranty team. They kept me in the loop throughout the process. While we ended up not being able to repair the washer due to lack of parts availability (Whirlpool’s issue), I would certainly use this company for my future needs.

I had used Carolina Appliance on another job, so called and made an appointment. Scott called me to tell me he was on his way, and asked me about the refrigerator I wanted him to look at. It is a garage fridge and old. Scott said it would not be worth fixing and that he didn’t want to waste my money. I appreciated his honesty and will be using them again if needed

I wish there was a zero star, because they sure would get that. Back in March I called because my refrigerator was not cooling properly and not making ice, and it was also still under factory warranty. The tech came out, called tech support and tried something and said let me know if that takes care of it. Well it didnt work. The same tech James came out again in April, called tech support, he did a few things and then told me he would have to order a motherboard and this happens a lot with these refrigerators and it would take a while to get the part because of COVID. After a month we called, left a message, no reply. Another month went by, finally got an answer and was told he never ordered the part and why we didnt call sooner? We did, no one answered! Also, according to their records they sent to Whirlpool the refrigerator was fixed (it was not). The same tech came back in September, he had to call tech support. Well now they determined that it is the evaporator. So the tech said he would order the part. Hadnt heard anything in a few days, so my husband had to call them to find out what was going on. Well they had the part came out last week and installed it. After he left I went to wipe down my refrigerator and noticed that the tech dented and scratched my door trying to get the shelves out, I am so livid! Also, my ice machine is still not working properly. It has been a week and the ice machine only filled the container half way, then the ice starts melting and drips out of the dispenser. On Tuesday Carolina Appliance has the nerve to call me and ask for payment! She was rude and I gave it right back to her. This refrigerator was under warranty and I should not have to pay. I called Whirlpool and told them what happened and the damage to my door and they are sending another company out to fix it, so hopefully theyll get it right. I did not call you 2 years ago! My refrigerator isnt even a year old. The first time I called you was March of 2020, get your facts straight and is was under warranty. I have the email from Kitchenaid with the scheduled date for repairs and the warranty! Also, the door swings in (see picture) if you see where the shelf is at the bottom, he had a hard time getting it out and it lines up perfectly with the dent. Even if there wasnt a warranty, I still wouldnt pay you, because its still not fixed! Theres no way I talked to you 2 years ago, my kitchen remodel wasnt finished until September of last year. Youre the liar and your small business needs to treat people a little better! Oh, and I do have the money, Im just not paying for something that is not fixed!

Outstanding service. My dryer was on the fritz, so I scheduled via Lowe’s per warranty. Their scheduling team is very polite, communicative and friendly. The service expert, James, had it fixed in under 30 minutes, was incredibly helpful with a few questions I had and was a true professional. He combines great customer rapport with a keen adeptness to the job, which is all one can ever hope for. Also, he was right on time and called 30 minutes prior to arrival as promised. I highly recommend them, especially James, and am grateful for their help!** After reading other reviews, I’m shocked folks are putting blame on Scott & James for issues out of their control. I’ve never edited a review to defend a company, but feel it’s needed. Their receptionist was very communicative in calling me, and was as friendly and professional as one could hope for. The same goes for James (I didn’t have the pleasure of meeting Scott). Everyone will make their own assumptions based on reviews, but this is a GREAT company that I would hope to use again should the need arise. I encourage others to look at the underlying reasons for negative feedback (mostly warranty issues, which is out of their control). Keep up the amazing work, y’all! (And no, I’m not biased for any reason. They provided excellent service, are a small company, and I don’t like them getting beat up on)

Carolina Appliance Repair was scheduled through Kitchenaid to repair a newly bought refrigerator. They where able to come out the next work day. They called before arrival, took proper safety measures for Covid-19, addressed the issue and had it resolved quickly. I will certainly use them again and would recommend them to family and friends!

Im a military veteran and thankfully working for a pretty good company where professionalism and respect for others goes along way. A technician troubleshot our freezer ice maker about a month a go, and told my husband and I the part would be placed on order. I have been calling Carolina Appliance Repair almost every week for about a month now for an ETA, and a representative notified me a few times they would call me back, even promised to call me back one day. I havent received a call back to this day. Ive never seen such inefficiency in a company. In times like these, a little courtesy can mean a lot.Thank you for calling me back and letting me know what was going on after this review Carolina Appliance Repair. Yesterday, another company came out and fixed the issue. I will have to say, if Carolina Appliance Repair did not push this back to assurion, and call me back, I wouldnt have known the status. I had a problem with the Whirlpool refrigerator/freezer. James came out on 9/18/20 and found that the problem with the ice maker was a bad valve. He ordered the part and told me that it would take about 2 weeks to get it because everything was on back order. On 9/30/20 James replaced the valve and discovered that the ice/water filter was bad also. I got a new one at Lowes free of charge and replaced the old filter. Everything is in good working order now. James was always professional and wore a face covering during the entire time. This is a great business and I also use them for my Home Serve account through Dominion Energy.

Terrible not worth the phone call. We were referred to Carolina Appliance Repair from Plugs for our Whirlpool refrigerator that was under warranty. The refrigerator was making a terrible loud noise and the top shelf items were warm and rotting while the bottom drawers were covered in ice. Took a week to get an appoitment, given time frame of 8 AM-4 PM, took the day off work, called in the morning to see a closer time frame was given 12-4. At 3:30 the Technician calls my husband and asks him whats wrong with the fridge, after he hears whats wrong says Its not worth me coming out, Ill order a part and be in touch. I call him to have him explain this all to me and he was as irritated as could be. I asked for a time frame to expect a call as to when the part was ordered and he said he did not know. Called the office, call returned two weeks later saying we ordered your part, two weeks later learn its on back order. I could go on and on about how terrible they are. Bottom line its been 6 weeks and my fridge is still broken, a technician has never laid eyes on the fridge, and I still dont have an answer as to when the part will arrive. I have refrigerated medications I have kept in a cooler for 6 weeks. Do yourself a favor and choose a reputible company over them.

This company was not responsive. They were scheduled to come on Tuesday and said they called and left a message. No message on my machine. I gave cell phone number ro call me and rescheduled for Friday and never received a call. Monday when I called and said how frustrated I was with their lack of service they told me to find someone else. They need some serious customer service training and scheduling training. Do not count on these unreliable and dishonest people.

He did a wonderful job, and made sure that everything was up to perfect working standards before leaving. Made an appointment they did not show up for. They insisted they called, but there was absolutely no recent call in my phone. When I told them this, they insinuated I was lying. I run a business and do not respect any company that will miss an appointment and call their customers liars when they make an error. They did call back and said they called the wrong number for the appointment, which is a start, but never trust a company that starts with the assumption the customer is lying.

Whirlpool scheduled for this company to come out regarding a broken hinge on our relatively new oven. The day of the service call I was told that there was no need for them to come out they would go ahead and order the hinges, that was mid-day on 1/23/20. I was told the parts would take 3 to 5 days. I spoke with Stephanie on 1/29/20 since I had not heard from them. She told me the parts were due to arrive on 1/30/20, but that she would get more information and call me back. She never bothered calling me back, so I had to call her once again. She than said she would call me back in ten minutes, she never did. I than proceeded to contact whirlpool who contacted her directly, and due to the fact the parts had been ordered whirlpool said they couldn’t do anything at that time. I thought that since the parts were due to arrive today we should have been scheduled for Friday, but that never happened either. Today I called Stephanie to see if the parts had came in and if we could be put on the schedule. No one answered, and I had to leave a voicemail. She never bothered calling me back. I had to call her again, and now she stated the earliest the parts would arrive were on 2/4/20. I asked her why I was lied to, she than stated the parts weren’t even ordered until 1/24, although I was told they were being ordered on 1/23. Why would you tell a customer that the parts were arriving today, when they weren’t? I asked to speak to someone in charge, but apparently she is the owner! I contacted whirlpool once again who contacted her and apparently she told them that I had called her several times, yes I’m going to call when you continue to lie and state you’re going to return phone calls and never bother doing so. This is not the way you do business. You should know what time frame your customers are being told, and you should be following up with your customers! You should also be ordering parts on the day you’re stating you’re ordering them, especially since it takes you so long to get parts in that whirlpool states are in stock! If whirlpool suggests this company to me again I will not use them.In response to your review, you did lie, and you’re lying now. Would you like a copy of my phone records that show that I called you yesterday on 1/29? I received no correspondence from you on 1/27, or 1/28. I spoke with your husband Scott on 1/23, and was told parts would be ordered on that day, not the next day, and was provided the 3 to 5 day time frame. You also in fact did tell me the parts would be arriving today. You also stated you would call me back in ten minutes yesterday after I had to follow up with you once again, and to beat it all you waited until 5pm today to contact me to tell me you were sending my service call back to whirlpool because I posted a review that you didn’t like! I hope people take heed to my warning and take their business elsewhere!

We were having problems with our Whirlpool Ice Maker and called Whirlpool for them to suggest a reliable and trustworthy appliance repair company. They recommended Carolina Appliance Repair. They responded promptly and came out and fixed the ice maker. We paid the $85.00 repair call on the spot but after a week had passed we still had no ice. We called again and this time the owner came and assessed the situation...needed to order new ice maker for $477.00+ which he did and we paid for along with another $100.00 and $85.00 service fee. New ice maker came in and owner came out to replace but it did not work and owner said we would need to replace the entire door panel as there was something there that was causing it not to work properly. We told him we did not want to spend any more money on the ice maker at this time and he said he would refund us our money for the replacement ice maker. Almost 3 weeks after the initial call our ice maker does not work, we have not received a refund and have made several calls to the company to no avail. My husband has called Whirlpool 3 times and Whirlpool called Carolina Appliance Repair...1st time they were told checks is in the mail - that should have been our first clue as it obviously was not. My husband called Whirlpool again told them we had not received refund and Whirlpool called CAR again and they told them they had credited our credit card - NOT. My husband checked and there is no credit. He called Whirlpool again and they said our best option would be to dispute the charge with the charge with credit card company but were told it could take up to 60-90 days to resolve. I do not understand why people do not stand by their word and work and then are dishonest not once but twice about refunding the promised money. My husband and I are honest, hardworking people and trusted these people to true to their word. Not only were they dishonest with us but to Whirlpool who suggested them in the first place. I can promise you we will not be using them again for any repairs.

Is it possible to give no stars? Because thats what they deserve. I was told they were coming for a service call between 9-2 p.m. and at 11:30 a.m. they phoned and cancelled without an apology. The receptionist did not even apologize once and was plainly very rude and told me to just take another day off work. I am honestly shocked that a business can function if this is how you operate. When I said I would report them to Whirlpool who arranged the repair - she said Im calling them too. Wow. I would never use this business nor would I recommend you to anyone. In fact, it is my duty to warn anyone from using you. And also she said sarcastically when I shared my disappointment Im a one-woman show. Okay. But - you can still be a kind and professional One-woman show. Maybe you need to hire more staff? Or how about a professional and courteous staff? Horrible customer service. EDITED:Changed my review to four stars. There was a scheduling issue in the office and it was not conveyed to me. I got a call from the owner after hours and they scheduled me for the next day. Very kind owner. Tech was wonderful and fixed the equipment in 10 minutes. Great service and knowledge. Wish the office staff was more on their game but very please with the owners and repair team.Original review:Stayed home from work all day waiting for my repairman. My window was 8-5. Several calls in and unreturned messages... it’s 5:25 and the tech was a no call no show. Very disappointed they didn’t even have the respect to return my calls.

I have to say, I was hesitant to use this company since the reviews were not great but since it was a warranty issue with my Speed Queen dryer, they were the only authorized dealer option. I was able to get an appointment within 24 hours as it was not a critical issue. Wendell called in advance to let me know when he would be coming and was even able to come earlier to accommodate our schedule. He was very professional, polite and knowledgeable. Based on my experience, I would definitely recommend them and plan on using them in the future and trust me, I am very picky when it comes to great customer service :)

Whirlpool sent my warranty appointment to this company. To put it nicely, I wasnt at all impressed. The customer service was bad, and the technicians effort in the diagnostic was worse. I called Whirlpool and they sent another company out that was MUCH better - in both service and quality. All in all, I would not recommend this company.

I cannot believe the incompetence of this company, which was scheduled to come out to fix my Jenn-Air cook-top yesterday but never called or showed up. I gave them another chance and re-scheduled with Jenn-Air for them to come today. I called them this morning to confirm and to inquire about yesterday, and they had no record of the service ticket for today, and they also told me that yesterdays service request had been lost, that it must have slipped under the seat. They then confirmed for today and assured me they would call 30 minutes before arriving. I went over the phone number with them twice. They did not call. They came and did not ring the doorbell! I was sitting here the whole time a few feet away from the front door, and I know for a fact that they never rang the door bell, which is loud. I tested it and it works fine. They just did not want to do this job. Wouldnt you think that after blowing me off yesterday, they would have called me before coming today? Wouldnt you think that they would have called me when they incorrectly assumed no one was home? Unbelievable! DO NOT USE THESE PEOPLE. I looked them up on the Better Business Bureau and they have had several complaints reported but not responded to.

Called around 10 am to have them come and look at washing machine that was leaking from the bottom. Scott answered the phone and said he will be out this afternoon. He came looked at washer and determined the water was coming from the bottom of the water heater which is next to washing machine. Save me repair of washer and I was going to replace the heater anyway, just sooner now. Local and worth it.

Wyndel was our Service Technician that came out. We had a Whirlpool Dish Washer that was on the blink. After Wyndels comprehensive evaluation we determined, with his help, that a repair was just not worth it. He took the time to walk us through the why and went-on to share with us his professional opinion of what brands we might consider going forward. Very professional and helpful. Totally unreliable. Use another company.My response to you....Your office had no idea what was happening with the technicians out in the field. Its true, that you came early. THAT was not the scheduled time and I did not get a phone call in advance and the office could not tell me that the technician had already been to my house. You also did not leave a card. I was under the assumption that you had not made it to my house. I called your office and they could not tell me that you had been there yet.......So by the end of the waiting period I was frustrated. When I called the office, they were rude and that is why I hung up. We all hate waiting around all day for an appointment and when you miss the appointment its maddening......with todays technology this should not happen.....So I say again.....My experience is .......Totally unreliable. Use another company.

This place is very unprofessional. I made a service request to have my oven checked since Hurricane Dorian and they never showed up. They were scheduled to come on 9/19 between 8 and 4pm, then someone called my husband and stated they will be there between 12 and 4 on the 20th. The technician said he came and left a card in the door but I know for certain no one came because Rooms To Go did a delivery for us the same day so we were definitely home. No one called to say they were on the way nor did we receive an email stating that we needed to reschedule because we missed our appointment. I called Sunday and left message as well as Monday and left a message absolutely no one returned my call. I called on Tuesday and finally got someone and Paige was NO HELP! Never apologized for not returning the call nor was she interested in me rescheduling the appointment. I wish I could leave all the stars blank. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND TO ANYONE.

Kitchen-Aid/AIG warranty scheduled this company for a Wednesday mid day appointment on Monday to look at my refrigerator that was not cooling. C.A.R. called on Tuesday and said it would not be able to come until Thursday. Ok, things happen. The office manager/scheduler was nice/polite. I asked for a 1 hour out call instead of 30 minutes. The office called at 9:47am that Thursday to declare 1 hour out. The Technician, Scott, shows up 3 hours later at 12:47. There was a reason I asked for a 1 hour out call... some people have to work.Scott introduces himself and immediately asks if this was a warranty call because they had it down as a cash call. I try to explain my situation to Scott before he even comes in the house, and said, I will gladly pay the service fee should it not be covered under the warranty. I tried to show him that there is a technical service pointer and it specifically states that it is covered under warranty. He proceeds to tell me that the repair would not be covered and that my refrigerator warranty was only 2 years and that 2 years was up on May 25th, 2019. Believable, but I have a copy of my warranty and it is actually warrantied for up to 10 years and this particular situation is covered under years 2 through 5. He decided to tell me I was wrong and leave rather than try to understand the situation or call and verify.I contacted the office to let them know of his late arrival as well as the interaction and it seemed to fall on deaf ears. Illustrated by Scott calling me back to say I needed to find another provider.Well, I did and it has been verified with Kitchen-Aid that the service is in fact covered under warranty and someone from another company will be coming out.Whether it was the disconnect between the warranty company and C.A.R. or between Scott and I, Im not sure, but I can say this is not customer service. More like neglect. People generally suck these days. This guy, Scott, sucked and apparently the company would rather leave you hanging than figure out the facts, accept responsibility, follow up, and/or see that your problem has been resolved. I did not receive any actual service, but I did experience a disservice and cannot recommend this company to anyone. You might find yourself stuck with them and I hope they treat you better.
