Was very nervous at first when daughter was moving away for school. This housing facility made it very easy for us . After touring the place it made me feel more at ease. Staff was very knowledgeable and friendly. Rooms were furnished and clean. Had study area, rec room as well as cafe, bonus.

Had a terrible time with their billing and sanitation of their cafe. Was almost charged additional $2,000 and almost didnt receive security deposit. $2,000 discount was supposed to be applied to my final payment, but I had to remind Tropicana to apply the discount as they kept messaging me about payment deadlines. Also had to message them about returning my security deposit because I received nothing about my security deposit after nearly a month.Cafe had plastic cups and plates that quickly accumulated blurring residue. Sometimes cups, dishes, and utensils had leftover food on them after returning from wash.

Tropicana del Norte is a great place for residents to meet new people and have the desired college experience. Its located right next to UCSB and the IV food restaurants, which is very convenient. It also has a nice gym and pool. The cafeteria food is really good and there are many options for vegans/vegetarians.I totally recommend living here to anyone that wants to meet a lot of people, participate in fun programs, and enjoy their college experience!

This is a great place to send your child if theyre first starting to live on their own. It is a great transition I am very glad my daughter was able to experience what Tropicana has to offer.

TDN provides the best possible living opportunity for freshman students. The staff works avidly to get residents involved in the IV community. Whether it be throwing pot decorating programs or whale watching trips or trips to 6 flags, residents are given every opportunity to make friends and have an amazing freshman year experience. Choosing to live at Trop will provide you with the possible freshman year experience!

Tropicana Del Norte has a great atmosphere. It really feels like staying at a resort, except all year long! The building is home first year UCSB students and works diligently to keep them safe while living in Isla Vista, as well as excelling in school. I highly recommend for all freshman!

I have lived at Trop Gardens for 2 years now and have multiple friends who have lived at Del Norte. Its really nice because all the buildings are pretty connected. I love using the gym at Del Norte because its available pretty much all day and even to people from other Trop buildings. Its also nice because the cafe has more options if you dont like whats being served at the Gardens cafe, you can always come over to the Del Norte one. Its a really quiet building and a lot of the athletes like to live there along with international students so you get to meet some really cool people. They also have a movie theater which is sick for movie nights with your roommates. The staff there is really sweet and the desk stays open pretty late in case you need anything. Overall a really relaxed environment, super close to campus and pretty new apartments

Too expensive for what its worth. they converted kitchens in every suite into a room (none of the incoming residents for this year were notified of this change). on top of that youre required to have a weekly 10 meal plan that only works for Tropicana cafes as part of the leasing contract. go live on campus if you want a better living environment for less.

Trop is a friendly home for UCSB freshman. It is a safe space for students who want to experience living in Isla Vista without full independence. The meal plans and staff provide residents with a good buffer between living with parents to loving completely on their own.

If you travel with EF you defently must live in the Tropicana Del Norte. It was the best time of my life. The rooms are simple but nothing special, but the best thing about del norte are the people you make so fast new friends. If you are under 18 they tell you something about rules but nobody cares about the rules. Every day there was student party with a lot of hot girls, alkohl, drugs, hip hop musik and wild nights, you will love it and the girls!!! ;)
