This is the countys department of social services. There was a line when we went in and we had to wait a bit. The waiting room was OK but a little small for the number of people sitting in it. We were able to get what we needed done and the staff was nice despite being busy at the time. They offer numerous services but this was our first visit. There were a couple of people at the registration desk but they might want to put more on busier days/times. Someone eventually did come to the line & start asking what people were there for.

It’s understandable that the child care help has a waiting list, to be on it for 9 months and be taken off because “the system notified me and I didn’t respond” I never received anything via Mail, email, or call! Now I’m back on the list to wait another possible 9 months is ridiculous. As a single mother with limited income during the pandemic it’s hard to say the least. Not to mention staff in the child care department are as rude as can be.

I had a very life threatening scare, and the staff on the first floor was very prompted and got me the help I needed. Ive dealt with this place in past and then I would have easily given them a -5(negative) however this latest experience they showed professionalism, knowledge and compassion.

I took my Mom there ..that just moved here, and those that she talked with was so nice..helpful and very knowlegable..

Cant remember if it was to get their Medicaid straight or the food card but either way it was a great experience. Anything for my girls.

It’s very hard to rate this place, very old building and as for the service it depends on who you get some are very rude and unhelpful the could make you wonder if this is really in the US or elsewhere.

No one every answers the phone and the automated person hangs up on you, yall need to do better!!!

Very busy place. Most caseworkers are overloaded but are Good people and they just need more help. Correspondence is slow but again there is a lack of staff.

Someone needs to fix this place. More money, more employees, better management, I dont know. I have never seen such a horrible family services department. Phone calls are never returned, questions never answered if you make an appt and go in. My assistance has been messed up EVERY time I do a recertification. Medical bills dont get paid and nobody will do anything about it. I dont know if its a majority of terrible employees or if its the management. Im sure a lot of the problem is lack of funds for more employees. And as for the building, its disgustingly dirty, not enough seats in the waiting rooms, and completely run down. If I could, I would leave a -10 star.

Place sucks. Still waiting on my 3 month old Medicaid card when Ive been told it was on the way not to mention Ive went directly and talked to someone about 5/6 times.

This place is the worse DSS ever!! They never return calls within the estimated time. Half of the employees have attitudes. Documents are never worked on within the state guidelines.
