Taking an SAT prep course at More Than Scores And Tests was an invaluable experience. My score increased from 1360 to 1490, which helped me to get accepted into Northwestern University. However, what makes More Than Scores And Tests stand out is that the people here truly exhibit the name of the organization. My SAT coach was helpful and friendly, but she also truly cared about her students as people. She wanted us to know that who we are as people is so much more important than our SAT score.After taking this course, I was much more confident when taking the SAT. More Than S.A.T helped me to understand the material in each section better. I used to run out of time before I could answer all the questions, but More Than S.A.T. taught me how to strategically approach the test so that I could finish the test in time and raise my score. The primary benefit of going with More Than Scores and Tests is that Chris and James have a passion for educational development. Theyre both highly educated and experienced in it, and have a deep attention to detail with their students. They work with the individual and their family, with transparency and honesty. Our two sons used the college selection and application support services from More Than SAT a number of years ago. Especially with our first son, we still appreciate the help from Jimmy and Chris in guiding him through the college process from the summer before his senior year through the applications phase of the first semester of his senior year. Their approach to the whole college process which includes a personality test, career match up exercises and time spent in getting to know the student in order to find a place that will help the student thrive in more than just academic aspect gave us a sense of trust that our kids were in good hands. I began working with More Than SAT the winter of my senior year, and I found the team extremely helpful in helping me piece together my college applications in a way that showed my best (genuine) character to schools.Chris was my primary counselor. She uses years of experience to work with students and families to not just figure out how they can best present themselves to colleges, but also figure out what students want in an undergraduate experience. She helps students develop their college lists based on fit and interests, and then encourages them to apply with the mindset of showing colleges why they must choose the student (as opposed to why the student is choosing the school).Ellyn was my writing coach, and I worked with her for the majority of my winter break—more often than one would think. I had to meet many deadlines and faced a lot of writers block, but Ellyn always made time even as we approached New Years. She has experience in journalism and also works as an editor for the company, so when she coaches, she looks at every word, phrase, and punctuation to ensure the voice and clarity is there. We’d often work through multiple versions of my common app and supplemental essays until we reached a near-perfect version. She also looks at essays on the macro scale, and she always picked my brain so we could brainstorm ideas together. The writing coaches never take control of the essay— they work with you so you figure out yourself what you would like to say, and they advise you through making it as clear and eloquent as possible. Ultimately, you‘re the one writing. I had the most fun writing my University of Chicago essays because I wanted to be creative, and Ellyn and Chris provided good judgement and helped me articulate my thoughts to the best of my ability. I’ll be attending next year, and for a school where essays matter a great deal, I am so grateful for More Than SAT’s help throughout the process.

My son is a strong test taker but needed an extra push to move his scores into his desired range. He met with Jimmy for an intensive 90-minute session, worked through assigned problems and strategies at home, completed a practice test through More than SAT, and wrapped up with another 30-minute session to review his practice test and finalize strategies. in the end, my sons SAT score jumped 130 points. More Than S.A.T. had been a phenomenal teacher and a mentor for me!! My test scores experienced a great improvement from what I initially began with. My English score which started at 23 ended up as a 31. Also, I was able to receive a 36 on the reading after a 4 tutoring session. The tips that they provided for each section really helped to improve my scores. Beyond the scores on the paper, I was also able to see little more about who I am as a person through their mentorship in college application process. It was truly a blessing experience for me and I would recommend to other people as well!!

I used More Than Scores and Tests for both my ACT tutoring and my college essay brainstorming and I cannot thank them enough for the help they provided. My first ACT composite score was a 26 and by the end of my tutoring my composite was a 33! Their coaches are extremely patient and explain both problems and test taking strategies in an individualized way for each student. For the college essay brainstorming, they helped me decide the most effective topics to write about and also coached me on the style colleges are looking for. I am extremely happy with my More Than S.A.T. experience! Before I was enrolled in their program, my ACT score was a 26. I was struggling in the math section because I would always run out of time, and it was bringing down my composite score. But after completing the program my ACT composite score jumped up to a 30! I am very happy with the score I received. It gave me confidence and by practicing questions I was able to anticipate the correct ACT answers even without doing all of the work, which saved me lots of valuable time. I was even able to excel in the areas that I was already doing excellently in! I ended up getting into my dream college, Cedarville University, and Im very grateful to the More Than S.A.T. team for all the help theyve given me. I highly recommend this program for anybody who wants their test scores to reflect on their true potential.

We have tried multiple tutoring options from private tutors to group sessions. We have found that the small group sessions package with More Than Scores and Tests has the best balance of test preparation versus price.Our daughter liked the small setting with only 3-4 students per tutor. They met for 4 hours every Sunday for 8 weeks leading up to the test. She was able to improve her ACT score by 5 points.I would definitely recommend More Than Scores and Tests. They have multiple tutoring options and many tutors to choose from. I would also recommend each student take an early test for practice (not just the PSAT). My daughters experience with More than scores and tests was wonderful. She is a bright student with a 4+ GPA but not a good test taker. With the coaching she received she improved her ACT score from baseline score of 29 to 34! In addition, as their name suggests, she did not just learn how to test well but learnt skills that is helping her in class now. Both the coaches she worked with were dedicated to her success. I received regular feedback from them. Very well run educational outfit with highly qualified teachers. Hope they are still around when my 10 year old starts preparing for his standardized tests.

More Than Scores and Tests gave me the best experience that could come with studying for the ACT. As a student who gave up countless days of her summer and school weekends to increase her score, I went in with an annoyed attitude, just wanting the whole process to be OVER! However, after I met my tutor Elizabeth, I knew it would be so much better than I was expecting. Elizabeth was an extremely helpful tutor, who not only made sure I understood the material, but also took interest in my everday life, forming a comfort between teacher and student. She was more than willing to answer any question, no matter how dumb it may have sounded in my head! We also worked together to decide the appropriate amount of practice I would work on before next class, instead of sticking to a set schedule like some organizations that could result in lack of focus for some students because of the repetitive feel. Because I struggled in math and science, we realized early on that I would need all the help I could get there. There were meetings where all we would do were science passages, uncoding the tricky questions and figuring out what information was actually needed in the passage. Outside of my personal tutoring, th mock tests that More Than SAT provided were seriously the MOST helpful! Truly the worst part of standardized testing is the environment, so growing acclamated to it and learning how to remain level-headed/focused with those fake tests are what helped me improve my score. At the end of the day, my score improved 6 points from when I first took it. More Than SAT runs a fantastic business with tutors that truly care for the success of their students and implements testing skills that I will carry with me for the rest of my education.

We used More Than Scores and Tests for my daughters for various services such as learning study skills, writing class, PSAT prep course, time management class, etc. All the coaches were very helpful and knowledgeable. My daughters had great experiences and not only learned the test prep skills, but also learned a valuable lifelong skills. Hello everyone!! My name is Ashley and I took the study skill course at the beginning of my freshman year. The transition from middle school to high school was very unique. I was doing really well in mostly all of my classes but I am a huge procrastinator. So I found myself doing assignments late or rushing to do them. During the study still course I learned how to effectively manage my time. I was taught how to properly use my planner to benefit me and make sure that I get my homework and assignments done on time without waiting for the last minute and or rushing to do my assignments. Another thing that I learned was how to efficiently take notes . I was getting an A in all my classes except Honora Biology. I was getting a C in biology which had me disappointed because I was a straight A student in middle school. Through the course I was taught different methods to get ahead of the lesson and efficiently learn the concepts. Once I applied the knowledge and skills taught to me I seen improvement in myself and my teacher did to. From quarter 1 to quarter 2 I went from a C to an A. So I was back to being the straight A student that I was destined to be. I really did appreciate taking the study skill course and I highly recommend this course. This will definitely help improve time management, study habits, and planing. It will also allow you to understand the concept that you are taught in class through the study skills provided during the course.

I think the teachers are really great and teach very well! I have recommended this place to other friends.
