This is worst place to ever rent a car. Fist of all the guy I was dealing with was so rude and disrespectful. They gave me a car that appeared to be clean yet smelled awful. I took the car back on full tank of gas and the price was around $140.00 there about yet charged my credit more money than two hundred dollars. This was the worst experience I have eve had with car rentals. They increased the price besides me paying my own tolls. I would refer anyone to them.

When I landed I got a phone call that they had no cars for today. However they are still selling cars on their website and Priceline. While I understand I booked through Priceline and it cuts into their profit, they could have at least advised me to book directly through the site. If they truly have no cars left they should stop the oversell and not be available for sale everywhere.

My experience at Glendale Heights Hertz was amazing!! Joe was so helpful and although I was offered to purchase extra coverage, I did not feel pressured. My credit card declined initially and he was very patient and worked with me to find a solution. His top priority was making sure my family had the vehicle we needed for our trip. Thanks, Joe!!!

Very nice staff but the car that I was told would be sanitized smelled like stale cigarette so bad I had to wipe clean the car. The wipes were black with dirt from the steering wheel alone. Disgusting!

Have been renting for work purpose for about 3 weeks. They have cheap price but then again you get what you pay for. Customer service is horrible with the person in charge now. Had a reservation and accidentally put wrong time and didnt even bother to accommodate. This is the last week we will do business at that location. Apparently manager is on leave of absence and person in front desk just is not customer service at all. Very upsetting to know that you cant get good customer service from some people. That is how business is lost.

Hertz was a last resort for renting a minivan for a trip; but Dave was quite accomodating despite the time mismatch on Google and priceline. I had to wait some time before I was attended to but once I was, Dave took care of us. After he intervened, I was able to drive off in less than 15 minutes with the rental.

Manager Dave was nice. However, my experience echoes many of the reviews below. 10am rental turned into a 2pm pick up. Nearly 4hrs after my set time and customer service (aside from Dave) was not stellar--borderline rude. Lobby was chock-full of prospective renters waiting and waiting and waiting. I would hard pass on renting from Glendale Heights Hertz in the future. Renters Beware. Never again.

Worst customer service ever. I had booked the car for an important meeting and I already missed the meeting. Waiting for over one hour still my number is not hear. They served like 2 customers in one hour. 3 one is being serviced and not sure how long it will take.I am usually not a complainer but this is too much now. Not coming back.

My car was unexpectedly put in the shop and I borrowed a car from a family member for the day thinking my car would be done. Wrong. So I needed a rental and booked around 11am for a 5pm pickup after work. Got off work EARLY to make it on time and waiting in line for about 10-15 min then the manager comes out and tells us that they have no more cars to be rented for the day. There were 4 of us waiting to pick up, all with reservations for 5pm. 3 of us walked out carless because the one car they did had went to the person who booked before the rest of us. They don’t warn you that they might not have a car for you when you make a reservation and they did absolutely nothing us to help us. I know it wasn’t the managers fault, but whoever is the person that allows reservations to go through to Hertz KNOWING that they are overbooking needs to be reprimanded. If you’re booking here don’t wait too late and try to be there earlier in the day.

Reserved a car for the weekend in Chicago to pick up this morning at 9am. On my way to the hertz location in a Lyft and the manager calls at 8:25 to tell me that they have no cars. They obviously gave away cars to other locations and overbooked. Last time I’ll use hertz as I am now stranded without a car in Chicago.

I have a claim with State Farm and the branch manager David and staff have been nothing but helpful while getting me in my rental vehicle while my car is in the shop. I’d recommend this location to anyone. They will be the only rental place I go to from now on even if it’s not through State Farm. Thank you guys.! So much better than enterprise.

I want to thank Alba Reimer for being an absolute professional. I called to find out there were issues with my reservations the day I was supposed to leave for St Louis. After dealing with me, while very upset, she was able to work everything out and make it right. She handled everything very well and I’m sure I was not the most delightful person to deal with. Incredibly long wait time. My gf and I waited 30 minutes when we picked up the vehicle and another 30 when we dropped off the car. On the drop off they literally asked us for the keys and told us “Youre all set”I had a much better experience at ohare.

I picked up my rental last night and so far - it was a great experience. And I have had a pretty lousy week, so I was really relieved they made it so easy.The woman who helped me was friendly, professional and worked pretty quickly. She sent a car to pick me up at the body shop and I was in and out within 10 minutes or so. I have not had the same experience with their main competitor, which is why I tried Hertz this time and I am glad I did.Im hoping the rest of the experience goes as smoothly as the first part - and I have a feeling it will. Needed a vehicle as part of an insurance claim. I was first told that someone would call me back in 20 minutes. I called 30 minutes after that and was told they were very busy and that it would be a while even if I was to come in and wait at the location. Tried calling back an hour after that conversation, and no one answered the phone. Called my insurance company again, and it was apparently escalated. Still received no phone call. Called my insurance company after an hour had passed from being told it was escalated, only to be told this location had no more availability today.1) Call people back when you say you will2) Answer your phone3) Call people back even when you dont have good news.

The tellers at the rental place are not properly trained to advise or help with either using your gold points (membership) toward rentals or giving points for rentals you get. Had to do an online chat which took almost an hour. It is such a hassle to receive or use Hertz points that I dont think it is worth the bother. This location was no help in this process, could not answer questions or assist with using or getting points. I guess you have to book on the phone with corporate just to use points, according to the teller at least, and not go through a secondary company like AAA. Would not recommend due to all this hassle. Not sure why they offer points when it is so difficult to access them.

Worst expierence. Do NOT rent from this place. This location does not inspect their vechiles before they give them to you!!! They hand you the keys and send you on your way. I should have checked the car beforehand due to having children traveling with me. Unfortunately, I did not and found ASHES from cigarettes, dust, crumbs with filth everywhere. Reading these comments have scared me. Thanks for the filthy car HERTZ! Great job. 0 stars. Lady at the front desk who answers the phone is super unprofessional. Elma, the individual that dealt with the situation, has poor character and clearly depicted her behavior through rude communication and unheard of customer service.

I tell ya, I was terrified to go here because of all the negative reviews. But first impression, Hazel made our rental easy and pleasant. Vehicle was ready and clean and gas full. I would definitely come here for my rental needs again. Thank you Hertz for making our rental experience a good one.

Between the constant yawning, refusal to make eye contact, and overall reluctance to move, it’s difficult to imagine a person caring less about their job. The first two times I experienced this from the EXACT SAME LOCATION I didn’t say anything. But I will assume Hertz has some interest in this information... although based on the many similar reviews I am highly skeptical of that.Hopefully Joy will find a job that is more in line with her ambition level and customer service skills.

Had a appointment to pick up a car at 3pm. both representatives were gone. we called. said it would be 20 minutes before they would be back. it was over 40 minutes before they arrived. After waiting it turns out they messed up my reservation. Do not recommend renting from this location.

The manager and assisting agents were extremely helpful and courteous, I originally picked up a suv drove it home to find out we needed more space called this location back to ask about upgrading to a mini van and bam they were able to assist me same day no questions asked! On top of it all they were super busy but kept their calm and assisted everyone that came in! Great customer service this is my 3rd time renting from this location and look forward to renting from these great people again!

The customer service girl named Hazel is great ! She makes you feel right at home and gets you back on the road quick and easy. The Lyft ride back and forth to the body shop is a great addition on hertz service. Would be highly to recommend.

No one was in the front desk. Im writing this as I am still waiting. My reservation was at 5pm and have been waiting for 40 mins for someone to show up. Unfortunately this is a really bad experience being my first time using Hertz. I dont recommend this location. Seems the front desk peeps detail the vehicle as well that is why no one is in the front desk.

Renting a Car from Hertz can really hurt. They told me that they would bring a car to me so I would not have to wait but they did not. Instead they had someone come to get me and take me to the rental location. Once there I had to wait for 30 minutes. That was not at all what they told me they would do. If you as a business say you are going to do it then do it. It is just that simple.

Girlfriend and I reserved an SUV rental for a trip from Illinois to California, and back. When we arrived we were instantly greated with the friendly faces of three different staff members. We were offered a choice of two different cars that fit our reservation description. Both cars were freshly cleaned, and great choices for cross country travel. We ended up going with the Land Rover Discovery, with the reccomendation of the crew. The car performed valiantly, with absolutely zero problems along the way. From the random mudslides in Utah, the Rockies in Colorado, and to the long 12 hour late night hauls across Nebraska, Iowa, and Illinois, it was easily the best rental weve ever taken. Upon the return of the car, the team remembered us and asked us how we enjoyed not only the car, but our vacation as well. A+ service from this Hertz team, I would recommend them to anyone and everyone! Thanks again!

Never seen two employees more inept at customer service and taking so long performing a task. Hertz, fire these 2 ASAP. I will never rent from Hertz again. They are costing the company money. I called ahead was promised a ride back to my office 4 minutes away and after a half hour was still waiting. They have no sense of urgency.

It’s almost hard for me to believe a hertz branch would have such horrible service! My insurance set up a rental car for me there and asked me to contact them to get the car that day. I called but no car was available till the next day. And the lady told me someone would come to get me next morning but of course no one came. I had to call a few times before they sent someone over to come and pick me up. Stay away from this rental place is possible.

HORRIBLE... had a reservation through State Farm. Lady from their location calls to confirm. I get there and the girl behind counter was so rude..no eye contact and texting on her phone. Telling me no one from their location contacted me. Calling me a liar then stating they dont have the car they promised me that morning. She goes and gets the manager so I asked the manager why her employee was being so rude ...the manager says nothing and I get into a confrontation with the girl while the manager was standing there saying nothing. You dont like your job quit but dont be rude to people. Horrible Place....

This branch is giving hertz corporation a bad name . I think the Ceo needs to send a disaster recovery team . The Branch manager forwards the phone to her cell phone . Expect the lowest quality standard, also have a backup plan . The service is quality is horrible, One pays for ease of rent and comfort not a corporate dissater of dirty car, 4 hrs wait at the counter and then being made to walk, when then hertz provides a ride within 15 minutesAlso if you have a debt card issue, use turo. If I could give 0 stars or negative stars I would in this case.I am a single mother that had a family emergency in Illinois yet am from Florida. I went to Hertz to rent a vehicle, after reserving it a week prior and calling to confirm that I could use my bank debit/credit card without issues or hassles on the 15th of August and the reservation was for the 20th of August. Upon showing up they ask me for a CDP number, which I didnt need before but suddenly needed now. Well because I didnt have that (which was never mentioned whatsoever a week ago when I went over every detail) they refused to rent me the vehicle.I had the funds in hand to rent this vehicle and then some. My son needs to get home to start school. Upon raising a huge fit to the lady at the counter, showing her the payments for the vehicle insurance(already paid for) and the phone log of the call where I CLARIFIED that I could use me debit card if the funds are readily available it will not be a problem Maam that I was told. Two forms of identification which I had at the time with no issues... they still refused to rent me the vehicle and thus caused two customers to offer their credit cards to help me. In which I told them I would transfer over the necessary funds to them immediately (because I had them on hand) yet the lady at the counter was adamant to say that it wouldve been fraud if they did so yet... they asked if a friend of mine had a credit card and was ready to offer the same thing without an issue.End result is I can not get home with my son and they lost three customers whom walked out after the strife because they wouldnt honor what they had told a single mother and caused more issue then was needed. My opinion, Rental companies, if proven your identity, should allow debit through your band debit/credit card or at the very least tell the truth to their customers.

Horrible service. Called in the morning to make arrangements. Needed to be picked up, they offered to get me at 1:00. Asked about vehicles at that time, she said we have plenty to choose from and will discuss when i arrived. 1:15 comes and no driver. Called to see where they were. Spoke to another girl. She says oh we are so busy right now and there are only 2 of here. One of us will come get you. Now 145 I call again and spoke to original girl. She now tells me that they outsource to an ride share and will call them to see where they are. She now tells me they cancelled and all they have are minivans. 230 and still not even been picked up. Sorry i had to even select 1 star but wouldnt allow me to post.

I reserved a car online weeks in advance and when I got there I was told that they did not have a car for me and was told that there was a car that was in the class above my reserved rental but that I had to pay an additional $300 to upgrade to this car, while my rental period was only 3 days. They wanted me to pay for their mistake. Also had to wait 45 min to get help since only one person was working. Oh and then I found out that they did in fact have a rental car in my class but refused to give it to me becauseit had less than 1/8th tank of gas.
