Living here when I was a teen I managed to make a few great friends and almost all of the staff members during my stay were really awesome and I hope they know how big of an impact they’ve made on my life. Some days were harder than others and some days the food sucked but at the end of the day I can look back and honestly say I had a lot of good memories
Worst experiences of my life when I was forced to be here. They even forced me to rewrite my “how did you like your stay?” When they didn’t like my answers. God forbid a child didn’t feel helped by them. I felt more alone there than anywhere else, and our calls to our family were timed. If we went over our timed calls they’d just cut it off and put you on “punishment” or what they sometimes called as “house arrest”. It felt like there was more opportunity to be punished than actually helped. They never even bothered to clean the beds we slept on. I’d look up at night and read the pleas of past teens, and written confessions. It was heartbreaking having to stay at that home.
I was placed there about 8 months ago, I was there for awhile it’s a really good place. The workers there are very respectful and will try to help you out with anything that you need done. I would highly recommend it.
I was placed here as a teen. I have to say Im pretty greatful for the people who looked out for us and took care of us kids placed here. As a nurse I have to say childrens well being and child development is crucial to how they form their relationships, self esteem, mental well health and self worth. I had a place to sleep and eat and belong. Thank you together youth. I turned out to be a productive successful adult.
