I’m writing this review about Ultra Tool and Manufacturing to warn potential employees that this is not a company you want to work for. After 3 years of being talked down to by management and constant changes by the owner I found a new job. I followed the “Ultra Tool employee handbook” and gave them a two week notice as they had asked. After a week and two days the owner decided to fire me, I would be receiving benefits on my final day. I called the owner and explained that I had worked the past year, many 55-hour weeks to earn those benefits. His response was “you don’t earn anything! I give that to you, I don’t have to pay you anything if I don’t want”. Telling him what an unethical company he runs only fell on deaf ears. I had a similar conversation with his wife, the director of HR over PTO at a previous meeting with the same results. The owners are cold and heartless people that will not hesitate to take away any benefits or holiday pay that you may have earned.Social media is a great tool to expose people that think they are above any rules or laws, even their own! I would also like to warn you that the owners like to play the “victims”, they tend to play a lot of mind games (look at their FB page). I have witnessed this first hand on many occasions and have pages of documentation showing them being dishonest. Wisconsin state law may be on their side but morally and ethically these are rotten people you cannot trust! We may not have the law on our side but if we warn each other about these kinds of owners we can help each other. In the 2 years 364 days I was there I have never seen so many employees leave a company. If I could have been warned it would have saved me from making the same mistake so many others have made.Asking if I would do it the same way and follow the employee handbook? First off, I would never work for Ultra Tool again and second, I would follow the handbook. My present employer is a great place to work and I would like to be able to trust employers. At-will employment is not a law so places like Ultra Tool can steal money from there employee’s. Dishonest employers can try and use it to their advantage, but that is where we need to warn each other. It shows their maturity and how being handed a company is not always best for people who don’t know how to run one!Thank you for reading and please share!
