Small menu right now due to small staff (covid). Food was excellent and it is worth a visit. The bartender, Mike, was friendly and hard at work.

Interesting menu items for a small bar/restaurant. Daily specials priced well. Service was very slow that night. Would go back.

Good food, but incredibly slow service.. took us 2 hours to get lunch here on a slow Sunday. Stopped here for a family lunch, there were only 2 tables when got there, but for some reason it took nearly 30 minutes to get drinks, and then another hour until we got our food. Would have enjoyed it more if our kids werent having royal meltdowns because they waited an hour and half before eating.

Had the Patti melt. Delicious with carmelized onions and sauce. A big heap of crispy fries.

Waitress was helpful in menu choices. Food was good and plenty of it.Beer was fresh.

Amazing fish fry. I definitely recommend the perch. Sometimes perch can taste fishy, but thats never happened to me here. If you arent in the mood for fish, their burgers are good. The price isnt bad, either!The staff are really good about wearing masks!!! I had to stop going to some of my other fish fry spots because none of the staff wear masks. The servers and bartenders are also attentive and friendly.

Not really impressed with the Thursday Wing Special. Wings were not terrible, but rather flavorless. Drinks are on the expensive side. 18 wings (theyre on the small side) and 3 drinks was $30 without a tip. Service was good, but the place was almost empty.

Food was amazing. Our server was great, super nice. However he said no one was available to sell gift cards as a manager wasnt there? I wouldve bought one for my belated Christmas exchange. Also, no social distancing of tables, but thankfully it wasnt very busy. We will likely be back.

A recent spur of the moment visit led us here, and later led us away disappointed. First disappointment was the measured pour at the bar, we refuse to order drinks from a measured pour bar. Second disappointment was the temperature of the food. The pineapple pork street tacos were warm at best, but had a good flavor. The Cranberry Chipotle BBQ Chicken sandwich was outright cold - which I do not think it is supposed to be, but again has good flavor. These items would have been outstanding if they were hot (or even warm). We did not have time to send the food back for rewarming. We did mention our concern to the bartender, but got the obligatory - Im sorry. Third disappointment, we ordered a mac and cheese dinner to go from the junior menu, which is supposed to include Fries and applesauce. When we got home, much to our dismay there were no fries! A perfect ending to our unimpressive experience. Fortunately for the Barley Pop, and unfortunately for the consumer, there are not a lot of dinner choices in the downtown main street Germantown area. We cannot say we will go back.

Mini bacon fat smash burgers and fries were fantastic! French onion soup was a little too peppery for our tastes, but edible, 😉 and the onion strings as a topper were deliciously creative.

This is a great corner bar and beer hall at the same time. The beer selection is great and it staff is always very helpful and friendly. I have been here a couple of times for events at work (usually sports related) and it has always been a good place. The back room is good with a lot of TVs and seating.The food was good and kitchen service was fast and efficient.I would definitely recommend this place again.

First time here. We only stayed for 1 drink but Javier was the best bartender I have seen in a while! He was attentive to everyone, always smiling, and greeting everyone that walked through the door. As a former bar manager it was nice to observe ther way he worked so hard.

This place was awesome. Was there for a group party and also the badger game. The room we were in had a ton of TVs so you couldnt possibly miss anything that happened in the game. Also ordered food and drinks and it was good.

This is one of the best fish fries in the area. The cod is flaky and tender, cooked to perfection.My wife had the baked cod. It was also very tender and flaky. The spice mix, especially the oregano was a bit overwhelming.

Pretty good place. Staff was nice, but their credit card machine wasnt working so we had to get cash from their ATM and pay that way. Definitely something they should have let us know about before hand. But overall good food.

Went there for a confirmation party and used one of the party rooms. It was just right for what we needed. Tacos were served and they were very good. Staff was friendly and accommodating to our needs. Didnt enter the bar area though so I cant comment on that. Small but nice place to visit.

My burger had pieces of white rubber in it. Told the waitress, she said sorry and went to the back to talk to Management. She came back and said theyd make me a new one. In the meantime another burger had peices of rubber in it. They charged me for my burger and put the new one in a bag for me to take home. Really! Feeding our table rubber and you charge us for our meals! No thanks never again. Ill also be telling all I can about the poor service and lack of handling this situation.

Barley has really turned around! Wasnt bad before, and has really improved in the last few weeks. Excellent food and service!

I had a BBQ pork sandwich and my husband had a steak sandwich. Both were excellent! The onion string appetizer was also great, and my husband enjoyed the Heartland IPA. They have a LOT of beers on tap.

Waitress was so attentive and quick. Food was good. Atmosphere was kid friendly. Definitely recommend!!!

I always like going to Barley Pop! The rare times I do go out, I gravitate there. Nice people (patrons and staff). Lacking in basic bar-type snacks such as pretzels or popcorn which most places have.

Great place to eat and have a drink! I find it funny how other establishments write bad reviews just to make another company look bad. Best bet is seriously to come in and try it out. The fish fry is good and their sampler platter is delicious. The beer cheese sandwich is ridiculous!!!

Got there at 6pm, got home at 9:30. Didnt expect my entire night to consist of only dinner: first it was the wait (we were told 20 minutes) which was an hour long, standing and being pushed by staff, telling us to move. Finally got seated in the small bar room (then waited 15 minutes for water and menus). We never got placemats. Ordered the food and it was 12$ for three thumb sizes of fish. All the food was room temperature and upon complaining, we were told why we were wrong. Managers were rude at best (most of their sentences started off with No offense but... I sent back my cold fries and got a discount. Im going to go make my own dinner now because we wasted 2.5 hours and I was barely able to eat. Not even decent quality. I was shaking with anger when I left and the employees seemed to almost enjoy it.

Good Food! Newly remodeled main dining area. Tons of TVs in there as well. Me and The girlfriend have eaten here numerous times, as we live right down the street. The food has always been great along with the service. Great beer selection but most times they will be out of some of there craft beers which is annoying, but hey have enough of a selection that it will not be a day ruin-er. The history of this building is quite fascinating all in itself, it was built in 1870!

I think a lot of the 4+ reviews for this place are for the old barley pop. The new one tries too hard to be a good sports bar, but in doing so they reduced the quality of their food.

The owner was there and when I asked to speak with him and explained the issues we were having, he developed a serious attitude and said so I guess you wont be coming back then?

Terrible.... very loud, hair fried in our cheese curd batter, both baked fish dinners came out warm at best, burger ordered medium got it well done. Never again and if you decide to go there inspect your food For hair.
