We dropped our power washer off to see if it could be repaired under warranty. It has now been over 2 months and we cannot get a response via e-mail or phone. I would not recommend using this service if you want your equipment fixed.
Worst service Ive ever received in my 61 years on this planet. Plus, the owner took my cultivator to repair and now wont give it back. Theft!! I also paid for a part and have lost that money he wont respond to calls to pick it up. From what I can gather hes now out of business.
They took an ATV and a brush mower to repair in October 10/19, by their admission they have not repaired it yet (4/6/20), and they have made multiple appointments to drop it back off since January and have yet to keep a single one. I have had to involve the BBB and the Scott County Sheriffs Office, and will be contacting a lawyer if I dont receive my property shortly. Dont do business with them, save yourself the headache.
Cant say enough good things about these people. Willing to help me out the best way they could and very easy to get along. They definitely went out of their way to help me and theyve got a customer for life put of it. Highly recommend.
Response to Your Reply: I called before you arrived and made a point to say my wife doesn’t know about the mower and that you needed to call me for approval before performing any work outside of the standard winter service, so there is no valid excuse for performing unauthorized work. I only found about it after I received a text and call about the unexpected charges. I voiced my concerns and complaints about this respectfully over the phone. At no point did I receive what I would consider a sincere apology or an effort to make things right. They just knocked like $10 off the total and said you could put the old blades back on if I wanted, but my wife had already been waiting for you to leave. You had the opportunity to make things right and to avoid a negative review while I complained over the phone. You also could have followed up after leaving, but never did. Finally, you could have followed up after my review to try to make things right and I would have seriously considered removing the bad review, but you didn’t. I did my part, but continue to be disappointed in the service I have received.Initial Review: Have had them work on my mower a few times. Always have some issues with scheduling or them not showing up with a part I told them was needed. The last experience was just not right and very frustrating. They sold me on a “$75” winterization service. They then told me to call my warranty company after I scheduled the appointment with them. I assume they got paid by the warranty company because I did that. Then my “$75 service” turned into about a $200 ordeal. I called before they arrived and said not to do any other work on it without permission, but they still put new blades on it without permission and charged for parts and labor. They took the blades so I can’t confirm they even needed to be changed. My wife saw the mechanic wasting a lot of time just sitting in his truck too. Just a very shady experience overall. Very dishonest way to do business. They also parked the mower up against a beam that supports our house after work was completed, which was the icing on the cake. I was afraid to move it. Not how you treat people.
Called them once to schedule an appointment. Lady called me back to get my information and said she would call me the next day to schedule something for the next week. They never called me back. I called again about 3 weeks later. Thought maybe they just lost my number. I left a message and never received a call back. Sad 😔. This is the reason I am leaving a bad review. Don’t really understand why I didn’t get a call back. Not a good way to do things. I guess they didn’t need my business. Just very disappointed.
As a follow up. I was shown the blades after they had already been replaced without mine or my husbands permission or knowledge. I walked out to pay and was told a price I was not expecting. I am unsure why it took 2.5-3 hours for a $75 winter service. I had a lot to do that day and had to constantly walk outside to check on what was taking so long (I still don’t know that answer). I understand the cold weather and I appreciate working through those condition. Some people can’t afford additional things, so in the future I would recommend keeping your customers informed and updates before doing anything you are not asked to.
I have a bad boy mower that needed fixed and the warranty people sent this guy. I have not had any problems with him. He does try to push unnecessary stuff, however, we all need to feed our families right? The times i declined the response was always a polite ok well if you change your mind let me know he has always came on time, always fixed my mower to my satisfaction. Some of the reviews on here just dont sound right. However i had him replace my belt and pulleys on the deck. Then when i went out to mow the belt broke, called them and was told he was in quarantine for 14 days cuz he came into contact with someone with covid. That was roughly 2 months ago. I called last week to see if he could come by and fix my belt again and cant get ahold of them. Just seems very odd. I really liked this guy. I could trust him with my machine and my property. I just dont know where he went to?!?!
Fast response. They fit our repair into an already busy schedule and treated us very fairly on the overall cost. I recommend McDermotts!
Pressure washer ran when we dropped it off, never ran again. These are the most unprofessional and deceitful people Ive ever done business with. Stay away unless you enjoy a good shafting.
Hello Scott. Remember me James Frazier over here in Bagdad KY. Im the man with the bad boy mower that power plus payed you to fix two years ago in September of 2017. You got the parts and power plus payed you for the labor. Well Im still waiting for you to come and do the repairs. Its only been two and a half years. I thought I would contact yall here since yall never answer your phone. Thats a lot of money you took me and power plus for. Still waiting in Bagdad.
I had an extremely difficult electrical repair & they figured it out. They were very professional and courteous. Showed up on time and went right to work. I would recommend this repair service to anyone.
Unbelievably unprofessional. Wont answer the phone, wont call you back. Had my mower for months to make what amounts to a 30 minute repair. Give you a different excuse every time you talk to them. Rude and pushy. Worst customer service ive ever experienced.
These idiots couldnt fix a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. Oh, and theyre dishonest to boot. BEWARE.

McDermotts came to my house to work on my mower that I bought at Lowes. They said that a part broke on my mower because the blade struck something hard. Funny that the blade wasnt bent and only had normal small nicks in it. But they ever so nicely gave me a estimate to repair my mower. Im sure they were also paid to look at it by Lowes. Even the customer service from Husqvarna said the part that broke was VERY hard to break without a very violent blade strike. So why werent the blades damaged??? Luckily I had someone who knew how to repair mowers take a second look at it before they were paid double to repair it!
Scott worked on our utv we purchased from tractor supply, it was blowing fuses, sometimes it would start sometimes it would blow fuses, if it did start it didnt seem to have the power it used too. Scott called me after the initial evaluation, and explained what was wrong, and what needed to be replaced, I gave him the go ahead to proceed with the repairs, he completed the repairs, returned all the parts he replaced, and even delivered the utv to my house, which was assume! And I can honestly say that our utv has never ran better! I would recommend McDermotts for utv and mower repair.
Total of 9 phone calls to get them to come out and get mower. 2 weeks since first called. HARD to get in contact with...dont answer phone ...dont return calls... Finally a time frame set up and then couldnt even be on time to pick it up. All I get out of this person called Casey was excuses. Definitely should not be handling this part of the business. Ask for someone else if you get her. WILL NOT PURCHASE from LOWES again if this is the person who handles their warranty service
