I’m not really a church person these days because I find most churches to lack authenticity. It’s like everyone wants to fit in so they assimilate into the culture of the church itself. I wasn’t to be me, sometimes in moderation if need be but I want to be all that I was created to be & respected as an individual.We can’t all live up the the expectations of others, we can’t all adhere to the letter of the law, but we certainly do aspire to be better than we were yesterday. It’s a marathon not a sprint but more like a marathon you have to sprint. 🤣😂🤣People always say they don’t like church or in this case synagogue, because they are hypocrites, judgey or fake but I can’t help what others think of me, what they assume, what they think they know about me, or what they do or do not believe, I can only me me. I love God & his people I believe he chooses everyone but not every hears him so they need our love, support, compassion & grace.We are not perfect, we are a work in progress & if we have an ounce of compassion we can see past our expectations or the ideals of religiosity to see a group of authentic, uniquely beautiful people seeking God through building community. I’ve found that here.I found a sense of community at this Messianic Jewish place. I even knew a few of the songs 😀.I was instantly welcomed, treated with genuine kindness, hospitality and although it’s rare that I can make it to do my work schedule I do feel that these people genuinely care for me. More so, Jonathan & Melinda actually show up for me and they are dear friends.
