Best way to spend my 40th! I had an awesome instructor! Taxied, took off, and almost landed. 20ft to runway the instructor took control of the plane for a smooth landing. I will definitely be back for my 59hrs.

I needed a checkout for a high performance endorsement and was paired with Orlando at Genesis Aero. He was extremely knowledgeable of the Cirrus airframes and their electronic cockpits and conducted a review of the airframe, maneuvers and expectations. Flight was very beneficial and at the same time, Orlando demonstrated and taught a tremendous amount of the specific electronic cockpit systems without it ever feeling rushed or overwhelming. Great flight, excellent training, and a highly professional CFI!

I took a discovery flight here and I absolutely loved it. These guys are great, patient and let you fly for a good while. We flew over downtown and lake Travis, It was a wonderful experience. Would definitely visit another time.

My girlfriend bought me a discovery flight and it was such an incredibly exhilarating experience. The facility was clean and well maintained. The flight instructor Spencer was very eager to make sure we felt safe while also having fun. I am really glad we wound up flying with such a competent and friendly pilot. I am hooked now and will most likely be returning to enroll in the private pilot program they offer. If you or someone you know has ever wanted to fly, I absolutely recommend Genesis Aero. They are first class, friendly and super professional.

My husband took me to Genesis for a discovery flight on my birthday. It was a surprise visit and I absolutely loved my time there. The flight instructor Brandon Russell was very friendly and made us feel welcome. He gave us a quick intro about the flight we were going to fly and even gave me the controls to fly the bird for a few minutes once we were in the air. The overall experience was amazing and I would highly recommend this place.

I recently passed my Private Pilot check ride after training at Genesis. The instructors I worked with were incredibly committed and willing to go the extra mile to help me succeed. The office is very professionally run, and scheduling aircraft time and instructors is easily managed online. The aircraft are exceptionally well-maintained, and safety seems to be a high priority. I plan to continue to rent aircraft from them, and eventually continue my flight training here. I would recommend Genesis without reservation.

Had a perfect experience of discovery flight with genesis flight academy. The pilot was a super nice man. He treated very friendly. Explained everything to me. Made flying easy to me. And the price rate was also affordable. I actually enjoyed to fly the plane. Will definitely join the genesis for my private pilot license!

I had a great experience here. I got my husband a introductory flight lesson and he loved it. We had Mic, he was very friendly and informative! It is not easy to make me feel comfortable in a plane (especially small) but he did. He taught a couple different maneuvers to my husband. We also added on 30 minutes of sight seeing over downtown Austin which was my favorite part. I would definitely do this again!

Ive flown with Brandon a couple times, great instructor! Prices are reasonable and the company has played a great role in transitioning my military flight records to fly civilian aircraft. They are a great location to take military competency exams! Just need to register with CATS.

I received my Private Pilot flight training from Genesis Flight Academy 3 years ago. Genesis leads the pack in professionalism, aircraft selection and quality, flight instructors, safety, and management -- bar none. I rent aircraft from Genesis often and I have never had a less-than-superb experience with any of the staff, amenities, or aircraft. Owners Kyle & Lacy Keeling have helped me all along the way and I cant thank Genesis enough for helping me pass my written and practical exams with flying colors (not to mention the peace of mind I received from the proficiency of my instructor). These guys are growing quickly and I cant wait to receive more flight training from them at their new private office and hangar just across from their current office on runway 11 at KGTU! I recommend them highly...give them a chance at your business and you wont regret it.

Genesis is great! They are very flexible and professional and have an excellent emphasis on safety. I had flown with genesis for a while before getting my PPL in August 2015. Their new facility is awesome. I chose gensis for a number of factors: road traffic (and air traffic) more manageable than ABIA but youre still at a Class D towered airport, the aircraft/rates and all the other great reviews!

So on 4/5/17 I ended up going up to Genesis to do a discovery flight with a groupon that I found online. This day was purely intended to just be a fun adventurous day of trying something new. I was paired up with my flight instructor Chris Ray and we went over the flight controls, check lists and basics and then I spent the last 45 minutes actually flying the plane by myself (with my instructor there of course). It was absolutely the best experience I could have asked for. Flying in general is absolutely amazing but Chris Ray was incredible as well. He and I bonded right off the bat and I had this feeling that Id be seeing him and the Genesis team again. When we got back to the ground, I instantly knew that I was about to embark on this exciting journey of getting my PPL that I hadnt even planned or really thought about. The gal at the front desk was incredibly helpful and gave me all the information that I needed to look into getting started to persue my PPL. I ended up starting ground school the very next day! Its been going so well and I am loving every second of it! Shout out to my seriously awesome teacher Jonathan Boes for helping me catch up since I had missed the first class. He has been so helpful, kind and understanding, and I can tell that he genuinely cares about his students and wants each of us to be successful. Even though each class feels like drinking from a fire hose, I am loving every second of it because its interesting and Im surrounded by knowledgeable and genuine people. I know this is going to be a hard, fun and rewarding ride! Thanks Genesis for finding your way into my life. 🙌🏻✈️🙂

Ive flown at flight schools across the country, and this one ranks up there with the best. The flight instructors are of a very high caliber, especially the owner of the school, Kyle, the owner of the school. I arrived at the flight school after leaving Austin Academy of Aviation. I wasnt happy with the way that I was being treated as a young pilot looking for my instrument ticket. But training at Genesis was a complete 180. I felt comfortable and at home in the small school and my flight instructor not was not only supportive, but also taught me a lot that AAoA had failed to teach me. I passed my check ride with flying colors and have continued with them through my commercial, multi, and am about to finish my CFI. My training has been so good that after seeing me fly, an aircraft broker in California offered my a job with him (which Ill be taking this spring).Though it is a small jaunt from Austin, I can assure anyone that the trip out is well worth your time, as the quality of instruction youll receive is, as I said, top-notch. Whether youre coming for a discovery flight or an add-on, the school will help you through.Ive heard people complain about the age of the planes before. While its true that the airplanes have age, they are in no way unsafe. I personally know both of the mechanics that work with the school, having used them for maintenance on my own airplane and trust them to get the job done right the first time, which is what really matters when flying an aircraft. The schools multiengine trainer is perhaps their oldest aircraft and the age shows. Nonetheless, it proved to be a reliable and appropriate trainer when I did my multi. As for the 172s, you wont find any glass cockpits here. As a child of the electronic age, Ive flown both glass (in my own 182) and round-dial and have concluded that round dial definitely makes for a better pilot. Besides, the transition from dial to glass is an easy one. As for the 182RG, it is nicely retrofitted with a redundant glass system that functions nicely.If youre looking for flight training in the Austin area, these guys are your best bet.
