They haven’t picked up in over 3 weeks. It’s clearly out there. What do we pay you for?!?
We have just started this service. They have not picked up our trash the last two weeks with no explanation. I have seen a lot of the same comments here. I have also called some of their competitors and have been told the city has granted a few waste companies an exclusive to this area. If they cannot fix these common issues, perhaps they should not be given an exclusive arrangement from the city?
Leaves trash in bin and recycling usually ends up in yard.Driver Broke trash can during pickup, after 3 weeks still didnt have a replacement can. After canceling, the old cans have been sitting by the road for a month. Still have not been picked up.
We moved from Monroe to Wayne County and kept Casela thinking the level of service would stay the same. Boy were we wrong! We canceled Casela after two months due to multiple missed pick ups, dishonest drivers who left false notations on our account, customer service reps who made excuses for poor service and one instance where the driver left a damaged deck umbrella from a windstorm laying on the ground next to the can. We paid through the end of July and they didnt even bother to show up for their last pickup and are now telling us they didnt collect trash because we canceled. Save yourself the hassle and use another company.
Not sure why there are so many negative reviews. I have been using casella services for almost 2 years now, and have rarely ever had issues with them. If i have an issue or question about my bill or service, Ive always received professional answers and positive customer service. They explained in detail what was going on and if there was an issue or mistake, it was fixed in a timely manner. 5 stars for great customer service, and friendly and helpful staff. Keep up the good work.

Multiple missed pick ups over the course of 2 years with no corrections. When they would reschedule pick ups that they missed, they never showed up. Why are we paying for you to take our garbage if you dont actually take our garbage? They were unprofessional and rude when my husband called to cancel our service, or lack thereof. 0 out of 10 stars, would not recommend.
Do not use this business. I set up my account and paid my deposit almost a month ago, and I have yet to have my trash picked up. I ordered a bulk pick up for some carpet two weeks ago. It was never picked up. When I called I was told that it had been completed, so I rescheduled. I called to confirm that out was indeed going to pick picked up, and it wasn’t.
The communication sucks. They do not return phone calls when they say they will. Took 4 weeks to fix an issue. And then another two weeks to cancel and for them to get their dumpster off premises.
Really nice of them to just start adding charges for extra bags and extra toter of garbage. I have one toter for garbage and one for recyclables. Their website says they send you a calendar that shows which weeks are for recyclables, didnt get any calendar so now I guess they charge extra so the bill ends up doubling! Really nice Casella, what great customer service!!! Would give 0 stars if the option was available!!!

DO NOT USE....After having been lied to for three weeks I am now going with another. If I could give 0 stars I would. Lie after lie after lie. They did not pick up for 3 weeks!!! Then they offer 1 week credit!!! Why one week instead of 3? Because the bin is too heavy for normal pickup??? What ? Say that again! You dont pick up (a service I paid for) then want to charge me extra for your failure. Do your self a favor..read the reviews (something I did not do) and get another company. Or if your near a recycling pant like ALPCO then use them. Cheaper and dont need to be lied to!
I have to echo the thoughts of the other 1 star reviews here - lousy customer service, missed pickups, I’m getting it all now too. Our pickup day was recently switched from Thursday to Friday and the first one was missed due to bad weather with a promise of Saturday - nope. Called Monday and was told there would be no pickup until that Friday. That Friday came, and went, with trash uncollected. Called that evening - another Saturday promise. This is Sunday, 12/15, I’m looking at a full tote and recyclables uncollected too. Customer service makes promises without regard to actually keeping them. Willful ignorance or outright lies? Don’t care, I’m canceling. Don’t worry about the tote, I’m going to dump it, and all of the trash I already paid you to collect at your Geneva site, and photograph it there so you can’t bill me for it later. You are welcome.
Ever since they took over for my previous provider, it has all been great (& better). They pick up as schedule, dont leave your bins in the road, and takes everything that has been put out thus far. Way too go and good job.
Absolutely NASTY customer service. As a business owner myself, Im speechless. Im taking my business somewhere else. Do yourself a favor read these other poor reviews and go somewhere else. It says a lot about a company. Sad.
Terrible service, missed pick ups, no refunds, no pro rating when canceling at the begging of the month. They need the information of competitors prices from their own customers instead of doing their own price checking. I do not recommend this company.

So disappointed! We received wonderful service for years. They changed our pick up date and everything went awry. Missed pickups time after time, then did not do the catch up pickups they promised. Customer service was great but didnt make up for having to continually call them.
They never showed up on my scheduled day. I had to call the local office constantly to have them come. Then when I left a message for the boss in Syracuse, he simply closed my account and had my toter removed (no call back at all). Terrible way to run a business. I will NEVER use them again.I love Lyons Road Trash. Very reliable, much cheaper and nice employees who care.
I’ve never dealt with a worse business than Casella. They rarely pick up on the correct day, if they pick up at all. Their office staff is at best useless. The manager I spoke with told me he’d get back to me. That was 6 months ago, I still haven’t heard back from Gary I believe his name was ? We wonder who’s running this business Curly Larry or Moe. The excuses given when you call are unbelievable. In the past year at the minimum we’ve had at least 20 problems with this very poor company
Terrible. Stopped picking up my trash before Thanksgiving. One excuse after another. Issued me a one month refund. Promised it would be right the next week. Failed to pick up again. Finally cancelled. Been waiting weeks for a refund because they wont issue a refund until they pick up their toters. Keep saying it takes them 5-7 business days to pick them up. Im at 18 business days since cancelling. Now they are saying they will only refund me 30 days because I only had a bill paid up through January 1. Total ripoff. DO NOT USE !!!
Very dissatisfied with casella. So many missed pickups over the years. They did not want to credit me for no pickup. I have a long driveway. They said put bin back out to road it will get picked up today (already 2 days late). Than got a call they wont be able to get it till my next scheduled day. 5 days from now, so back out to road to pull bin thru snow and ice back to house! Bin is full. Horrible service. Checking new garbage services now
Over the past three months I have had nothing but problems with Casella. Missed garbages pick up for three weeks in a row. Changed my day without notice. Website not user friendly, I used to be able to pay online but now shows nothing for a bill. Always have to wait to call in to pay it. Bigger Recycling bin was promised to me but hasn’t come.
My experience with them through a business is not good at all. I set up a pick up date, and its days after that they might finally pick up. When I call to ask why I havent been picked up I get lied to every time I call with concerns. And then I get excuses of well the container was too full! Well if I call on a Monday to schedule a pick up and the lady tells me Im on for the next day pick up, I dont get picked up for a couple days. And its too full. My pick up wouldnt be too full if this company would pick up when they tell me im getting picked up. This happens at least twice a month. I make 2 phone calls for pick ups a month, but call at least 5-7 times a month and listen to excuses. I wouldnt recommend this company!!!
Such a joke! We have called numerous times over the last few weeks about trash not being picked up every time a different excuse. They told me they would rather I changed companies then fix the issue. I’m sure I will get an automatic response to call customer service. I talked to them once a week for 6 weeks enough is enough. I would never recommend them for any job!!!
UPDATE....I received a call from the manager of the billing dept and she resolved the issue.Absolutely HORRIBLE. Charged me for a month after I cancelled. Billing clerk insisted I owed it. Finally the manager corrected the month that I was incorrectly billed, then told me I was responsible for $200 for unreturned totes. Apparently they like to not record their pickup then charge their former customers!! No way in hell would I pay that.
They are a P.O.S. Company. I started an account with them about a month ago, paid my down payment and first months fees, and then after a few weeks of service they came in the middle of the day and took my bins with zero warning and told me it was because I had a previous account with a balance. This “previous” account was an account attached to my mothers name who’s been deceased for 4+ years and was never once mentioned in the multiple prior calls I had with them to set up the account and schedule the drop off of my bins. Completely unprofessional company, would stay away at all costs.
This company is a joke. We cancelled last week of January for couple of reasons and my totes still sit, now buried in the snow in my front yard, even though when I called last week she said they would have been picked up last Monday but there was a problem with their truck, it would be the following Monday, today. I go home at lunch to see them still there, so I call to make sure they were getting picked up today and WINTER said she basically wouldnt know til the trucks came back, and that noone should have given me an exact date as to when theyd come and get them. Yet she gave me Wednesdays date... GET YOUR FREAKEN TOTES!!
If we had a choice for another company, we would NEVER use this company! Every time there is a holiday that sets the pickup day one day back, they never pick up until the following week. Ultimately, skipping our pick up for an entire week. They refuse to give us another recycling bin because we have so many recycles, unless we pay an extra amount every month. This company makes money off of the recycling, why would we pay them more on our end so they can make more on theirs. They never picked up our garbage and recycle the week of the 4th of July. My husband and I have made 5 calls into customer service and have been told by everyone that they would pick up that day, to only put us off until the normal pick up day on the following week. This has happened multiple times. My mom has had the same issue with this company. She paid 3 months in advance and they didnt pick up her garbage for 3 weeks. She had to call and threaten to turn them into the Attorney Generals office in order for them to come pick up her garbage. DO NOT DO BUSINESS with them if you have another choice.
Never have I interacted with a worse company. They consistently dont pickup on agreed days and when you call customer service (in Vermont) they promise to fix things. After months of being lied to, I just pulled the plug and switched. Their operation in Geneva clearly has no customer service concern in spite of their over used response to on line reviews customer service is job one The Geneva staff let customer service in Vermont handle all the complaints while disregarding customer service questions. They clearly need a shakeup because they dont care.
Terrible customer service, terrible pick up, terrible company. They didnt pick up my trash for about 2 months. Excuses and excuses. I called so many times but the same results. Nothing. They said they would credit me 2 weeks. Wow. I was paying for nothing. I had 2 accounts and just canceled both and they still billed me for not picking up my trash. Im turning them into the city and who ever will listen.
Poor customer service, changed service date... trash not being picked up. Excuse after excuse. Read the other 1 star reviews, I am done wasting my time with them... negative rating if I could give it.
Literally a trash company. Will never pick up your garbage the day they’re supposed to. And then for the second time this year they’ve taken money out of my account in error (this time it was $138) causing me a fee at my bank. And instead of giving it back like any decent company that made a mistake, they told me they would send a check in the mail that may take up to one month!! I have no idea how this place stays in business. All my neighbors have cancelled and I’m finally listening to them and saying goodbye to this garbage garbage company. Save yourself the headache (and money) and literally go to any other company.
If I could give no stars I would! Absolutely trash! I’ve had these guys for almost two years and I maybe get my trash picked up once a month because they say “it wasn’t by the road” my trash is always by the road the night before or two nights before! Just got my monthly bill, and it’s $75 I called and they had no explanation. Absolutely bs!!!
Cancelled my service with Casella 7 days ago(not counting the day I cancelled or the weekend) because customer service is horrible. Call today because I was told it could take 5 to 7 days to pick up Toters and they still sit in my yard. Your customer service rep then proceeds to tell me it could take 10 to 14 days. If someone does not pay their bill you do not pick up their garbage but it is ok to just leave your toters in someone’s yard till you feel like picking them up. That is not ok!!
I have been using Casella services for about 6 years. Great at first. Within the last year or so they have raised their prices and have become unreliable-my road has been skipped more than once, dumpsters have been only half emptied. Customer service is friendly but their solution for their companys mistake is usually for us to wait for the next weeks pick-up.
DO NOT RELY ON THIS COMPANY!We ordered a large dumpster on a Monday and they called to confirm that they had a dumpster for Friday.We had a roofing project that we needed to start and did not have the choice to delay.Although we called two times during the day once at 11 AM and another time at 4 PM before they closed, we were told both times we were still on the schedule. One lady even said she would find out where the driver was and would call me back. WELP, I never got the call back and never got the dumpster.As I sit here writing this review I am looking at a large pile of roofing shingles on my lawn!! Totally unacceptable to take peoples money and not provide the equipment.dumpsters are generally needed for very large projects which take a lot of planning. If you cannot deliver a product you should not be in this business !
Terrible company. I switched from WM for the cheaper cost and the larger recycling bins. Garbage not picked up multiple times and when I call they say that “the truck was having mechanical problems.” I’ve heard that excuse about 5 times. Maybe buy some new trucks. I had also called to arrange for pickup of a large cardboard box. Was promised that it would be picked up the following week. Of course that didn’t happen. Customer service is awful as well. I will be cancelling my service.
Worst customer service ever. Constantly missing lick ups, expecting me to pay for a whole month when they picked up once. The driver watched my recycling go across my driveway and yard, and just drive off, thats when they would stop. Most days they would drive right by when mg cans are right next to the road, the night before. Just terrible. Do not waste your money. Or time . I called customer service and every time they would say they would fix it, and every time it would happen again.
Ultimately a 5 star. Out garbage service out of Canandaigua disappeared after using them for over 7 years. :::POOF:::: They were there one week and then they never showed up again. I obviously needed to find another service and pickings were slim. I contracted with Casella - actually pretty grateful I had finally found someone that came to our area - and waited for them to deliver our bins.They did not. For literally two weeks, despite calling them at the Geneva offices almost everyday asking WTH was going on. They first said that they were delivered. Then they said that they couldnt get a hold of the delivery guy but would and would get back to me. Which they did not. I did this dance with them for almost two weeks while my garbage piled up outside and the weather warmed. I finally made a last ditch effort and called corporate, by-passing the office from which I had ordered the service.From there, corporate actually had someone come out that evening and pick up my garbage. Poor guy, picked it up in what looked like his personal van. The next morning they delivered bins. The corporate customer service then followed up with me to make sure they were delivered. The next pick up day - which was the next Monday, the truck came and picked up our garbage and I havent had a problem since. Its been almost a year.So maybe the trick is to call their corporate office? Or call their corporate office and actually get a customer service representative that takes pride in their work and is actually in it to help? I dont know. What I do know is that my story ends successfully. Which is a good thing because theyre just about the only more honest gig for my location.
Dumpster pick up, bi-weekly. Awesome, professional and courteous drivers! Highly recommend using Casella for your waste services.
An absolute terrible company! I rarely give a bad review but these guys deserve a bad rating. Starting with the rude secretaries who are always nasty and rude. The garbage men don’t get out of there truck and drop garbage everywhere, if you have small boxes they will not get out of there trucks to get them. When you call to address the issues management is nasty and rude. Oh and let’s not forget they’re more expensive then any other company. Dooooo not go with this company!
Changed to them 1-1-16 always quiet,neat and zero sort is perfect no little blue container getting blown around or dumped out by a town plow! on line bill pay easy and theyre trucks are quiet thanks
What a joke of a company. They pick up your trash if they feel like it. Today 3-15-19 they said our toter was to heavy and the equipment they have couldnt pick it up..... Theres 1 bag of garbage a couple handfuls of leaves and maybe a couple other things that have blown into our yard over the winter its not even halfway full.. the nice person at casella said we have 2 options. Option 1 be charged $100 for the toter since they cant lift it. Option 2 once I told him I could pick it off the ground by hand is that I could wait until next week and empty it into the garbage truck myself...
Not even a customer and I already have issues with the service. Just recently moved to Geneva on the 1st of the month and the previous tenants at our address had used casella service. There’s a mountain of trash and two casella bins on our lawn STILL- 16 days into the month. And even after repeated calls from not only the previous tenant but myself they just keep leaving is there and pushing out the date they will come get it. I haven’t been able to dispose of any of my boxes or packing materials from the move because they keep stalling!!!. WOULD NOT RECCOMEND. Use any other service!!! Highly unprofessional and aggravating.
Unfortunately, I have to drive past the landfill and stop at the corner of 5 & 20 and 14-A Monday through Friday. If you see me, Ill be the driver with my coat or scarf pulled up over my nose so that I can breathe. The stench coming from the landfill is horrid each and every day. I cannot believe that something has not been done about it. I pity the people who are stuck living there and I do mean stuck. If they tried to sell their property, no one with a sense of smell would buy it. Its unbelievable that Mt. Garbage just gets higher and stinkier day by day. Shame on us for allowing it! I wish I could have given 0 stars before posting.

Would give negative stars if that was possible. Worst company in my area. Regularly misses pickups and has the same stupid excuses everytime, drivers are so lazy they won’t even get out of the truck to get the extra bags when they clearly state that you can have up to 3 extra bags. Wanted to charge me $75 to pick a twin mattress. I am canceling and getting everyone I know to boycott you, absolutely ridiculous.
First day they came to drop off the cans they backed over my light at the end of driveway. Just a terrible business....finally dumped them and switched.
The customer service is horrible! They are supposed to pick up garbage every week, on Wednesday at our house, we are lucky if it is Wednesday. This week was recycling and my bin is still sitting at the end of my driveway full after they were a day late picking up the garbage they never even touched the recycling bin!

Horrible customer service. Our tote was dropped into their truck. After we called..oh yeah that happens. We can bring you a new one... next week. Also..lazy drivers wont pick up anything on the curb- including recycling put neatly in a bin. Over charges- made us pay for 3 weeks- even though they never picked up on those weeks! I would not recommend them to anyone!
Unreliable and uncaring.The merger with other companies caused us to wait 3 to 4 weeks to get our garbage picked up! I had to continuously call and they could never pinpoint when theyd be out. I got a months worth of credit. That was not really worth the hassle and repeated phone calls, smoke blown up my as$, lies, etc.They dont call if they have weather delays, they let YOU call them and you have to always figure out what is going on. They dont tell you ahead of time. They are too big, dont have enough staff and dont GAF.
Our business recycling has been overflowing for 2 months. Nobody seems to know what is going on but they have what seems to be a packet of excuses as to why someone couldnt make it or cant make it to do a simple service they have been billing us for.
I had to call them FIVE TIMES and they kept saying that bins would be dropped off or that my trash would be picked up on a certain date and their promises fell through each time. I am EXTREMELY disappointed and frustrated. Never again. I honestly have no idea how they are such a big company.
Used Casella for almost a year, we were sold on the no-sort recycling. Every bill we received was more than the previous, a dollar or more each month. Reps on the phone explained that it was due to cost of recycling changing -- ok whatever. I cancelled my service, and one week later the cans were still sitting waiting to be picked up by them. I called and they explained that its 5-7 business days, in a condescending attitude no less -- ok no problem. Now its two weeks later and they are still sitting at the end of my driveway. I called and they said that they are really behind and will pick it up in the next week or so. My expectations for a trash removal service are very low, but they definitely left me underwhelmed. I was able to switch to K&D for half the price (paid annually), and they have been great so far. Stay away from Casella.Update 2 weeks later: Garbage cans have now been sitting for 4 weeks in front of my house, they are unhelpful on the phone and cant give me a straight answer to when they will take care of this.Second Update: Garbage cans have now been sitting for 5 weeks in front of my house. Called yet again, they tried to reach the local dispatch but could not and had to take down my phone number to call me back. Called me back later that day and said it will be sometime around Monday when they can come get the cans (another week). Ill keep updating! Casella, I dont want you to give me a number to call, just come get your cans! This is getting comical. Ive now had five pickups from my new garbage company (K&D) and they continue to check the Casella cans to see if Im putting garbage in them, kudos to them.Third Update: The garbage cans were finally picked up! It was a total of 6 weeks they sat in front of my house. I thought I was free and clear, until I received a bill for not returning my cans for $216! Called for the 6th time, they are processing the toters now, and once that is cleared they will remove the charge from my bill. Ridiculous!
Decent service most of the time, a few skipped weeks here and there due to weather or truck problems. Kind of annoying but we dealt with it. BUT, this time around, we received the expected robocall telling us our service would be delayed one day (Th --> Fri) due to July 4th holiday. However, no trash pickup Friday, no pickup Sat. I called Monday to report it, very pleasant receptionist didnt give me specifics, just that there were delays on the route, blah blah. Did credit me for the missed service, would fill out a work order to make sure we got picked up this week, no penalty if more trash than the maximum. Now its recycling week to boot, and we have a VERY full trash can. Hmm, no pickup Thurs. Driving down our road, I see a whole lotta Casella cans still sitting at the roadside. No pickup this (Fri) morning. I waited until 3pm to call to find out what was going on. Again, very pleasant receptionist, could understand my concern, told me truck was still out, our work order was still active, blah blah. Guess what? No pickup AGAIN. Our recycling is going to have to sit there for 2 wks, and the garbage is going on 3 weeks. And to top it off, we just got a bill from them. I dont think so. Well be taking our business elsewhere.
Hate to say it, but their service is very poor to say the least. 50% of time this year they have failed to pick the trash up on the right day... or NOT at all. I called customer service & they said Well, we will get it next week Ya, maybe. They might miss it again. Who knows. They certainly dont.
Beware of Casella Waste. They failed to pick up my garbage for more than 2 months, then sent me a bill for services I didnt receive. Casella Waste uses fraudulent practices. Waste Management appears to be a more reliable and honest company.

The last 2 months my trash has not been picked up on time I am talking days late. I called they told me I am not putting it out early enough. After they finally pick it up I start putting it out the night before. Well guess what My trash has been sitting out front for a week. Cassella sucks!!

Ever since they bought out Youngblood disposal Ive had problems with them, I had to call them twice about them not picking up my recyling for three going on four weeks now.
They are horrible took two cans didnt give the cans back say they will pick up their can today still want money for the one pick in a month dont waste your money on them
STAY AWAY! Every bill period the cost has increased. After I’m done writing this review, I’m calling other garbage companies to switch. Out of all these reviews, there’s not one good to say about this company.
They are the worst! Left our trash for 3 weeks did not pick it up! Also wont get your boxes unless cut in to small piece that blow everywhere.
Ordered a 20 dumpster and had it filled and ready to be picked up in three days. Made the call for a pick up and it was to be done on that Wednesday. The following Monday I called and said that the dumpster still sits there. I was told that it was scheduled for pick up on that day. Here it is the following Monday and the dumpster still sits on my property (two weeks later). The problem is that I have contractors coming and the dumpster will be in the way. I cant seems to get Casella to respond, but they do like to charge you for overstays if it is your fault!
Never answer the phone, throw bins in your driveways and rude when you get ahold of them after 40 minutes in hold.
Horrible!!!!!!!!!!!!!! They always have excuses why they wont take your trash, truck broke down, you had a couple of branches in your trash ( they must x ray before they take it, lol ) When it was Farmington trash they were awesome ! I would look to other services, in fact I need to switch, horrible!!!!
