Denied access to pool with my mother inlaw. Who dosent allow visitors? Wasnt impressed orherwise.
This is a very quiet complex with mostly older people living there. The apartments are nice, but theres no in unit laundry which makes it hard for my mother who hurt her knee to take her laundry to the basement. Very safe area, and conveniently located near Randall Road and all of its shopping. A quick drive to downtown Geneva and St Charles, too.
Very nice for the price, quiet, and fantastic location. My husband and I lived there for approx 3 years (2012 - 2015) when Lee and Tina were the managers. They were wonderful to deal with and always fixed or replaced anything that broke usually within 24 hours and always within 48 hours! We enjoyed staying there. Only downside -- when we moved in, the fireplace and windows were not cleaned; when we moved out, we left them cleaner than when we moved in and still PART of our security deposit was held.
I completely agree with the first reviewer. The apartments are nice for the price and it is rather quiet and peaceful. Here are the cons, #1 con is the MAINTENANCE man named Lee. He is one of the biggest grumps Ive ever met. I had a blockage in my toilet and it took him 2 days to fix it. When he finally arrived he had the nerve to tell me that it was my fault because woman destroy plumbing lines because of the tampons we flush I was so embarrassed and couldnt wait for him to leave. i can type all day about the weird things he did around there. I never met the owner but I hear he his nice. I have to wonder however...with all the negative reviews online for Pepper Valley specifically pertaining to the maintenance man, why does he keep him around? Lack of pride of ownership? Anyhow I would just like to inform people that they are ok apartments but they are not in the best shape. I think a blind man painted the one i had. I cannot recommend them.
Honestly, this is one of the better places in the Geneva/St. Charles area for the best price. Im a pretty thrifty person so the monthly rent was very important to me. Easily $200-$400 cheaper than any other option I found in the area - not to mention free heat and water. They are also pet friendly and dont gouge you on the pet fee either.Electricity in the summer is expensive (but not back breaking) due to the air conditioner but it far makes up for it during the winter since the heat is so darn cheap and there is a fireplace. Lee, the maintenance man, I can see has some bad reviews on it. While he may never win Mr. Congeniality, he is an okay guy, just dont bring any problems to him. The main strategy to live peacefully here is to never have a compliant or problem, then you will do just fine. I suggest if you have kids or young puppies/dogs, to try some place more forgiving and understanding first.
We lived here 1994 to 2000.Then it was always very clean Great value for the money.Large 2 bedroom 2 bath second floor beautiful view of parklike area.Rent included water.gas.air conditioning.heat.lovely neighborhood.we had friends for years who lived there with us.we were in 2225 bldg.Management worked very hard to keep up property.Chris was our manager. We have sent people there over the years.our other neighbors bought homes.NOT there at 2127 2 weeks ago.dawn.
Ok interior could be remodeled.
Well I have to write my experience in full. When I moved in they (Lee and his wife) told me that no one smoked in the apartment that I was moving into which was a lie and I didnt have the time to deal with it because I was moving my girlfriend up here from Florida. After I moved in my neighbor below me owned a dog and she locked it in her bathroom which was right below my bedroom and the dog would bark for hours which the management told me that it was my problem to deal with . The dog was in violation of the pet agreement. After months of dealing with this the owner finally removed the dog. Then we had the roof replaced and the roofing crew dropped something through my ceiling and that took time to fix. My newest issue is my girlfriend is visiting me and we are having a blizzard and the maintenance became snooty with me because I asked them not to put a sticker on my girlfriends car ( sticker to tow it because it was in the lot) How unrealistic can we be?! I have stayed here for two years because I didnt want to move my son around and I dont recommend this complex because the owner doesnt seem to care about anything from my experience. I pay almost $1100 a month to be treated like crap and I cant wait till the end of school to put this place behind me. I DO NOT RECOMMEND PEPPER VALLEY APTS
Place is great to live. Great layout clean and peacful. The only reason I dont recommend this place is cause of the maintence man he yells at you for stupid reasons, is always grumpy, says he never has time to fix anything if you have a problem. One night I awoke from my sleep because I heard him yelling to another tendant that needed to leave and the maintence man truck was in the way and he would not move it at all till his snow blowing job was done.
Very nice and well kept place.
Nice people, nice spaces
Nice park
