Needed an inground pool liner back in July. No other company was able to do it before October, but They were able to help me out. The liner was installed in June, and they even came out to do adjustments when it drooped, due to my own negligence. Trey was very friendly and knowledgeable, even gave me a free seal for a pool light I was having work done on. The only issues I ran into were with communication and the initial chemical treatment, which I never received. Overall though, Im happy with the liner install.

In March of 2021 we bought a matrix 24X54 round above ground pool. It was going great, until Trey stopped responding. he left our back yard In a mess. We had to fill in our dirt ourselves. He didnt give us all the start up chemicals that was described on his website. He said he would be back to finish and never did. Waiting on him to come back, our brand new pump that he just put in, broke a seal. He asked for a video of it. I sent it to him he ignored us. We had to pay for another dealer to have it fixed. It was a mechanical seal. We finally reached him and he said that it wasnt his problem. He still hasnt given us our pool cover. And said its just now may, we dont need it right Now. But we paid for it. It should not matter when we get it. We paid paid for a service and a product. And he didnt back his word or work. The experience started out very well. Then he just stopped. I would not recommend him. He seems nice and professional at first but changes..he says he will show up on a Day, then Never shows up and wont call or anything and will leave you just waiting! He is the most unprofessional person I have worked with in a very Long time! If you work with him keep ALL your text messages, emails and phone conversations. We will be reporting him the the BBB. You will need everything as proof. Because he will change his words and make you out as a liar. All my friends and family ask who did our pool and we tell them and show them exactly what went down (we have our proof) and they too are shocked. Word of mouth is a strong thing. how he stayed in business for 20 years is beyond me. Im my opinion i think thats a lie as well.

I cannot thank enough for the amazing work they did for us. Every single company we called wanted to replace the liner for a new one... they were honest and told me that it was a quick fix and I didn’t need to replace the whole thing just placing the liner back on the track. They saved me thousands and they won a client for life! Highly recommended!!

I was in a very tight bind and could not get anyone to come out and replace my pool pump for at least 2 months. I called Backyard Pools and Spas and they were very helpful and installed my pool pump immediately!! Service and communication A+I will continue to use them ONLY from now on! Thanks guys!!

Trey was a nice guy and did good work when he showed up. We had him scheduled to repair a leak in our spa and he was a no show. He finally returned my call and said that he had been in an accident. He came out and repaired the leak. After the repair, our spa was still losing water. I called Trey who came out again and found another leak. This was in December, 2020. He said he would order the part and be back mid January to make the repair. In the meantime, we had a pool pump go bad and asked Trey to replace it. He did a good job replacing the pump. Over the next several weeks, I sent numerous texts and tried to leave a voicemail (his voicemail box was full) regarding our spa repair. To date, I have not had a response from him. We had to get another company to make the spa repair. We had not bid out the repair and found that the quote Trey had given us was double what we paid the other company for the repair. I can not recommend someone who won’t return my texts about work he contracted to do.

Trey was awesome from day one! He was prompt, efficient and very professional. We needed a safety cover for a new inground swimming pool. Trey came out the next day as promised and took measurements. We were happy with the price he gave us right there on site. We paid Trey the deposit and he ordered the cover right away.About 5 days later, Trey text and said that he would be out on a Friday to install and cover the pool for us. However, it still being 99 degrees outside, we wanted to wait until that Monday. He stated that was fine and no worries.Monday came - Trey text and said he was running behind and wanted to come Wednesday - no worries. We were not any hurry since it was still 99 degrees outside.Wednesday came, Trey and his crew came. Installed a beautiful blue safety cover on our pool. It was amazing. We have a waterfall wall and he was able to put the cover right into it and the outcome was great. I was very impressed with the workmanship of Trey and BACKYARD POOLS.Trey is a great guy and trying to build up his business. He is honest and loyal - no matter what the reviews say below - ask me! I think otherwise!Thanks Trey - see you in the spring for our pool opening!

I purchased an aboveground pool from this company 7 years ago. I have to say I have thoroughly enjoyed our time in it. They did a wonderful job installing it and in a very quick time frame. I would definitely by again from Trey Turner. I have spoken to him a couple of times since installation and he is always quick to return my calls and provide what I need. Great guy! Great company! You will not go wrong in purchasing their services!

The pool turned out absolutely beautiful! We really love it! Trey was able to give us the pool we envisioned in our price range when no one else could. Great job!EDIT: 2 years after installation: After a storm and probable resulting power fluctuation/spike, we needed a replacement part for the electronic controls - we called Trey who was able to replace the part under warranty. Trey ordered the replacement part and dealt with the warranty issue himself rather than having us deal with the manufacturer. The result was our pool back up and running much faster! Backyard Pool has always come through for us!

Trey, the owner of this company is not a man of his word. I hired him to help me me address a drainage issue I had with my liner pool. He said that he was the best at liners and only did top quality work. He also agreed to smooth out the floor of my pool and install the new liner I had purchased from another company. Because he agreed to install the liner I told the other company I no longer needed them to install the liner because Trey agreed to do the work. Trey installed the new hydrostatic valve to fix the drainage issues and billed me for it but had yet to clean up the tremendous mess he left in my pool of concrete and dirt. I paid him in good faith that he would complete the initial job and also start the installation of the liner. Several sunny days passed and I did not hear from him after texting him. I finally called him and he said he was not going to install the liner anymore. I told him I had already told the other company they didnt have to do it. He didnt care. I told him to come and complete the cleanup on the initial job and he hung up on me. Dont hire this company if you want an honest company to work on your pool. He left me and my family in a difficult situation. It will now cost me a lot more money to get my pool complete and ready for the summer. Thank goodness I paid him with my credit card and can dispute the charge as being incomplete work.

Ive worked with Trey at Backyard Pool and Spas when I worked at Lowes Home Improvement. He has always been a very professional and polite guy. This time I was on the other side. I was the customer and he still showed the same professionalism and courtesy. I had a few questions about an above ground pool and he was more than willing to help. Once we do decide to purchase a pool, he will be the one doing it. Definitely recommend him and his business.

Had an appointment set with them, and took off work to meet at my house. No show, no call, no text, no anything. I called and texted numerous times with no response. Finally 3 hours later, I received a text saying he had to work late, and wouldnt be coming by. I could have worked a regular day, but instead took time off to meet my end of the agreement, and in 3 hours, he couldnt respond with a simple running late message. Instead the calls and messages were ignored. Too bad this company doesnt value other people and their work schedule as much as theirs. A simple text takes a few seconds, but not worth it to them to take care of their clients. Thank goodness this happened early on, I would hate to see what happened if I had paid them anything yet, and was counting on work being done on time. They couldnt even show up for an estimate???? Guess they must have enough clients and money that they dont need to perform any customer service, which they definitely do not do. There are plenty of honest people that like to work, and I would advise giving the work to people that deserve it, and want it. Not these guys though. I am sure their time is valuable, but so is mine and yours. Dont waste your time on this company, there are plenty more that will treat you like an actual customer. From the reviews, it is apparent that he is not going to show up for appointments, which is a big problem. Many reviews show that he doesnt care enough about his commitments and his word that he has given, as he clearly has not shown for many of his promises. To trust a job as big as putting in a pool to someone who cant even show up to make a sale (much less do the work), doesnt make a ton of sense. I just called them from finding their number online, along with other estimates that I requested from other companies. This was by far the most wasteful use of my time and energy. The 3 other companies I have called have all shown up, and I have 2 proposals from them so far. Wish I had read the reviews on this company, before I committed to allow them to try and earn my business. (Of course, that is assuming that he would actually show up and try to earn it, which he didnt).

We set up an appointment 4 days in advance to meet at our home to discuss putting in a pool. My husband had to ask to leave work an hour early and I barely made it home. No one showed up or called. I called 30 minutes after appt time and left a message but still no return call. Waited until the next afternoon thinking someone would call to advise why no one bothered to show up or call but still nothing. I posted on the FB page asking why this happened. The post didnt show up so they have their page fixed so you cant post anything. Only then did I receive a call and the excuse was their 5 oclock apt ended up running until 8 or 830. My time is as important as anyones unless maybe their interested in a much more expensive pool, I dont know. But if they cant do better than that before youve spent the money I would be concerned about their behavior after they already have it. !!POSTSCRIPT!!: The response from this owner is a lie, my post only lays out the details of what occurred and then my opinion of the service which is what this forum is for. I received no phone calls except for the one after I attempted to post of FB which was blocked. I shouldnt have to give 24 hours for someone to respond to a noshow on a scheduled home visit. Decide for yourself people but I do not appreciate being called a liar. I can screen shot my phone log on my phone if anyone needs it.

I had some trouble finishing opening my new pool and though they were busy, they sent two great guys out to help me. My husband and I set up three appointments for this company to come to our home and give us an estimate to replace our above ground pool. The first appointment we expected them to call to reschedule since it was raining. However WE called Two hours after the first missed appointment and was told someone was supposed to call us but never did. So We set up a second appointment again no show no phone call. WE called yesterday to set up a third appointment for today and again two hours later still no show no phone call as to why. I don’t understand Why a business would treat a potential customer this way. I can only assume because we are not spending $20,000 on a new inground pool our business isn’t important enough. My husband and I own a small business it would never treat someone this way. This company does not believe in treating others as you want to be treated.My time is just as valuable as anyone else’s I don’t appreciate sitting around for hours for no reason. I will never call this company back for anything and I only live about five minutes away from their business address.

My desire is to talk to you personally, but since my calls and texts are not not answered I have no other choice but your website.So today we had a very reliable company look at the jacuzzi you sold us. We were told there are not 3 leaks but 12 and that it is not worth fixing. He showed me where some of the plumbing simply had “bandaids” covering up repairs that were needed and not to waste any more money as there would also be more repairs needed down the road. He said we were sold a bum unit and to try to get our money back.My hope is that you will do the right thing and take your jacuzzi back and return our money. It’s the right thing to do. I have his assessment in writing and he is willing to represent me.So not only did we have to pay a professional company to relocate our jacuzzi because you didn’t follow through, we had to pay for an assessment today to get it fixed. What would you do if the roles were reversed? How would you feel and how would you like to be treated?The golden rule is to treat others the way you would want to be treated.This is an opportunity to do the right thing and to be a man of integrity. A good name is the best thing you will ever own so please consider this seriously. We never imagined this would have happened to us.How could we have this many repairs needed if it was never used since we purchased it?We want our money back. I had an old hot tub that was given to me for “free” by a friend . I let it sit around for almost a year after I received it and finally decided I could get it running on my own.Long story short, and a few bad words later :), I called Backyard Pool and Spa like I should’ve done from the start! The owner of the company and his crew had it running like a champ In no time, and have been back to service other issues that have come up with my tub! Very responsive and very friendly service. I will continue to use them for all of my hotub needs.If you have a pool or hot tub that needs servicing, Or you’re planning on taking one of those “free” tubs off of someone’s hands I suggest giving them a call.

We found Trey and his company as a result of a longer chain of events and a tremendous blessing. Backstory: Over Thanksgiving 2017, we had replaced the Hayward Super Pump motor for my mother-in-laws pool with an OEM spec replacement from Amazon since Hayward had been bought out. Reviews of the pump motor were 4/5 so we thought wed take a chance since the reviews were mostly good. After 1 day, the motor died, which was unfortunately in line with some of the negative reviews on Amazon. It took my wife and I several weeks to get back down from Charlotte, NC to Columbia, SC to further dive into the cause and resolution. Fast forward to 1/30/17, we found out the motor had gone bad and purchased a new motor (which turned out to be the exact same brand and model as the one that failed) from a local pool supply place in Columbia, SC. We purchased another set of new seals, too. Then, we replaced the motor and seals and it worked for 5 minutes. After 5 minutes, the motor ran but was not priming. Upon another pump tear-down, we found that the impeller had broken this time (due to age). But, by this time it was New Years Eve 1/31/17. We called all pool places in Columbia, SC but to no avail. They were closed. Due to the super cold temperatures, it was imperative to get this pump back to operational in order to avoid broken pipes. We started to call pool supply places in Charlotte, NC where we live. The very first call, was to Backyard Pool and Spa. It wasnt on purpose that we called Treys company as we were just calling any place in hopes that someone would answer and could help us. Here is where the story takes a turn toward the amazing! Treys company was not open, but he answered the phone with a polite demeanor. He attentively listened to our story and then he said he would check his supplies and call me back to see if there was anything that he could do. Within 10 minutes, he did call us back. He had the parts we needed! I asked if we could drive to Charlotte straight away to purchase them. Trey, who was in Atlanta for New Years, confirmed that he would have a family member hold the parts for us and to open up shop so that we could get the parts. We drove to Charlotte to obtain the impeller and another shaft seal and he included a second impeller free of charge as a backup! Hats off to Trey for his willingness to go out of his way to serve us (on a holiday) in an emergent situation. Just had Trey and his guys install a 24 round Mystic II resin above ground pool for us. Job started last week and wrapped up today. I have to say Im extremely happy with the job! It was definitely a difficult install because Im on an extremely sloped hill, so there was almost a full day of excavation and grading that had to be done. There were a few small equipment issues that came up during install, but Trey was always available for a phone call and wasnt willing to call the job done until every part of the installation was just right. Trey coordinated every detail of the install from the excavation and grading, to water delivery, to sand and gravel delivery for the french drain basin. Id absolutely highly recommend Backyard Pool & Spa to anyone looking to get a new or upgraded pool. Thanks again Trey for your outstanding work!

We were new to spa care and overwhelmed by the process of maintaining it when we found Backyard Pool and Spa. We just received our second quarterly cleaning and we could not be happier. They show up when they say they are going to be there, their prices are fair and they take the time to be sure you understand how to care for your equipment. I had a few questions about various chemical readings between services and they were happy to answer them over the phone or by email each time. I would not hesitate to recommend these guys to anyone looking for spa or pool care.

Here’s our story of Trey and his company, which isn’t good. They lie, deceive, have horrible communication and will try to cheat you. I should’ve read the Yelp reviews before hiring him. For the folks reading this and you hire him, good luck…you’ll need a lot of it. Below is a account of our experience and I still have all the text transcripts on my phone. All of this is factualWe started the process of ordering liner on June 3. Texted as it was just more efficient to get a liner quote and confirm everything regarding pricing and when liner would be installed. Our order/invoice was for a 28 mil thick lining, painting steps, including new faceplates, gaskets and wall fittings. Even said he’d throw in 2 weeks of pool maintenance and a 12 pack. Cool right! No. Trey decides to order a 20 mil thick lining and doesn’t say a thing about it but still charges us for 28 mil. We wouldn’t pay until we get the liner information for the warranty, which is when we found out it was 20 mil. And he didn’t want to give us the liner info...of course.June 13th we paid our deposit and Trey said it would take 3-5 days to get the liner in and they’d get it done. Did we hear back from Trey…nope.June 20 - Communicated to see when steps would be painted and timeline for liner replacement. Did we hear back, no.June 26 – Communicated again to see about painting and liner replacement. Did we hear back, you guessed it, nopeJuly 3 – Communicated again to see about painting and liner replacement. 3 weeks with ZERO communication.July 8 – We finally got hold of Trey, of course we had to call, before vacation and he said he’d get all of this done while we were gone for 10 days. We thought this would be great. We’d get home and our kids could jump right in the pool! Got home from vacation and nothing, but there’s a pump in our pool that’s been running for who knows how long. A pattern of promises and lies to cover up poor communication and organization has been noticed.July 10 – texted/called. NothingJuly 13 – paid deposit one month ago. Said it was taking longer because of patchwork that needed to be done. Funny thing, they didn’t even remove the whole liner yet to even start the patchwork. More lies and promises.July 16 – Guys finally come out to paint steps and leave parts/garbage around our pool. No cleanup. Wife talked to one of the workers and told them how long we’ve been waiting. Even the worker thought it was ridiculous and made the push to get our liner done. Not Trey.July 19th – Liner is finally in. Said he’d be by to shock pool and treat as promised. Nothing, of course. We knocked it out so the kids could swim.July 21 – Invoice sure was on time. Got it today. We asked for our liner information regarding the warranty and said we’d pay as soon as we get it. It’s interesting that once he wanted to get paid, there was all kinds of communication.July 25th – we get the information we wanted and he gets pissy with us that this is taking too long and he needs to get paid! Can you believe it! Wow.Trey, this is to you. For the sake of your workers who are earning a living for themselves and their families – pull your head out and realize your poor communication and organization, lies and over promises will negatively affect them as well as yourself.

Asked about repairing my pool dolphin. Said they could come get it and check it out. We scheduled a day and time for them to pick up. Never showed up I called and he said they would pick it up on their way in, still no show called the next day left 2 messages no return calls 3rd day still nothing. I called and left a message to just forget it. Apparently they dont have time or just dont care to even return a call. I have moved on to someone else to repair. Very poor customer service.
