The office staff here is amazing on top of a beautiful community! Charley and Dulce helped me with every question I had, they me feel at home and I’m not even a resident… YET. If I finally decide to make the move Hudson Woods will definitely be my next home.

If you are looking for a quiet place to live with a nice layout and close to everything then this is a great place to live. The staff are always nice and will help with issues you have. If you need something fixed the maintenance staff is pretty prompt at getting whatever needs fixed or replaced taken care of.

I give this place a three star review because the first half of the stay was good. The rest was a different story. The staff are fairly friendly and when I moved in in early 2020 it was a family oriented place to live. As time went on though the price increased substantially, maintenance stopped doing a good job (at times taking up to three months to get to something if it wasnt an emergency), and crime increased a lot in the area (That not being managements fault). With everything combined, the apartment didnt seem quite worth what was being asked. If you do happen to move in, I would recommend for a shorter term, ensure everything works on day one (especially the HVAC system and stove/oven), and also to not leave anything in a vehicle because of all the break-ins.

I went on a tour of Hudson woods apartments last week. The woman who gave me the tour was friendly enough but she kept talking about how Raleigh is a better city than Charlotte 😂I looked at an available two bedroom two bathroom unit.The kitchen looked dated to me but it did have a lot of storage. There was carpeting throughout the bedrooms. I wasnt that impressed with the unit. I felt as though what youre getting with this apartment isnt worth what theyre charging.

I have lived here for several years and would highly recommend. The location is great as well as the price. The floor plan is great with lots of space and storage. I have never had any issues with maintenance they always fix the few issues I have had in a very timely manner and are very friendly and polite. I would like to say a special thank you to Ashley, Charley, Dulce & Lizbeth for making me feel like a valued resident.

The property itself is decent for the price ..just make sure that everything works when you move in my first night here my stove didn’t work. When I called the maintenance line I was told that was not an emergency.. my patio door didn’t lock .. when they came out and supposedly fixed it .. the fuse keeps blowing on the stove so I have to go out and reset the fuse multiple times while I’m cooking.. my refrigerator didn’t work properly either I was told they ordered me a new one, they replaced it with a used one from another apartment .. My neighbors they are always sooooo loud.. they throw parties during the week 2-3 am I have been woken up to loud music, people sounding like they are fighting & did I mention they take up all the parking. I dread Saturday nights they are the worst. They literally stand outside talking so loud it sounds like they are yelling.. It’s so hard to enjoy my home that I pay for when you have inconsiderate neighbors.. my lease is up next month I will definitely be moving out .. So I can finally get some rest .. and peace and quiet!!

Hudson Woods in my book is just absolutely amazing. I want to personally recommend doing business with Ashley Tidwell!! She was the sweetest person you could meet. She made my grandpa feel like he was her number 1 priority I’m so grateful for her. I 100% recommended Hudson Woods for anyone looking for a place to call home!

One of the cheaper places in Gaston County, but the whole place feels as if it’s being held together with duct tape and string. The appliances and fixtures are exceptionally dated. Water pressure is minimal. Earwigs, carpet beetles, and house centipedes are regular intruders into the home. The staff are polite, but it seems to take ages for maintenance to complete a work order when it’s called in.If you must rent, the place is tolerable for short-term. Ill-advised for long-term residency.

Had to change my review because they’ve really been stepping their game up and have been professional and even gave me an extension on my love out date so I wouldn’t be on the streets. Great place to live, been here 14 months with little to no problems. They give you a notice before they do maintenance and always come through. Overall not bad. And they literally helped me through the moving out process and helped me get all the paperwork to my loan officers and were very professional and time sensitive with all of this. Very thankful and am glad to have started my family here

Brian is the reason we still stay. He is amazing at what he does. He comes. He finds the issue. He fixes it. Simple. fast. The problem isnt in his workmanship but that he is one person to over 400 apartments. I also want to give a shout out to the leasing agents! Two of the ladies came and took care of a really big wasp nest we had in our walk way. The way I see it, no matter where you choose to live, there will be things that break, bugs and such. There will be communication issues and the like. We surely have had our share of frustrations, BUT we stay because Brian really cares about his tenants, gets the job done once he gets to your apartment, and really tries to get to everyone in a timely manner. I had a few work orders that went for months this summer, BUT they were NOT severe compared to him getting to all the AC units needing repair. My HOPES for this apartment complex is that SOUTH WOOD REALITY would take the time to REPLACE the items that KEEP needing fixing! This would definitely help with not having to repeatedly fix the same thing! (AC units as one of them) Brian has only so much power to change things here. So please South Wood! You have taken the time and money to fix our pools and parking lot and landscape but we need some new appliances (AC units, stoves, refrigerators, counter tops.....) and update/check plumbing and wiring. I LOVE the space of these two bedroom apartments. It suits our need for where we are at until we can purchase a home. I am grateful to Brian & the staff that truly care about the tenants and work hard to make our apartments feel like home!!! It is also up to us as the tenants to care enough about our shared living spaces; to be mindful to park straight, to pick up after pets, to be mindful and considerate to one anther with noise level and where we put our trash. Let us all do our part and together we can make where ever we live a better place! :) :) :)

Okay so after being here a few months I realized a few things: 1. Incredible bug infestations including centipedes, spiders, and moths. Slugs too, but not as often and not as threatening. 2. Way over priced for the old, outdated and cruddy appliances in the apartments. My fridge smelled so bad that even bleach and baking soda in the fridge and freezer didn’t help, and all maintenance said was it was probably the coils but never fixed it. Which brings me to number 3. Maintenance has to be told several times to come out to fix anything. I still have stuff that hasn’t been fixed after being here for a year because I gave up trying to get them out here. It took them a month to fix our AC last summer then a few more weeks to fix the water damage it caused and they didn’t even replace the carpet after the water damage stained it. 4. No one keeps their dog on a leash. One dog even charged at us and we have complained but they clearly do not enforce the leash law. 5. Parking sucks. I genuinely do not believe there are enough spots and when there are, people continuously Park over the lines and take up multiple spots. 6. The apartments are not sound proof. We can hear everything that goes on outside from dogs barking to trash pickup to neighbors slamming doors to kids yelling outside. The only reason I’m giving it two stars instead of one is because the staff in the office are friendly if nothing else. I do not recommend this complex to anyone and I will not be renewing my lease. Please read reviews before moving here. The lease term is 14 months and I swear you will hate every day of it until it’s time to move again.

I am currently a tenant. I reported almost 3 months ago that the guest room has no cool air coming out of the vent. That room gets hot and does not cool off. I have since called 1x every week and have not received a call back and maintenance has not been out to the apart.ent to correct the issue. I called this last Saturday and told them I wanted this issue escalated higher and wanted a call back. Still nothing. I also reported the ice maker being broken at the same time.

Reading the most recent comments on here and I feel it’s not ghetto where I stay in the apartment complex It’s not loud where I stay, of course you will hear trash trucks and people cutting grass that’s normal. But the bugs (Spiders, ants, centipedes )situation is bad and it’s worse in the summer but once I did a work order and someone came out bugs reduced. They do need to upgrade apartments.

I was at this complex visiting a friend and during my stay someone’s car was vandalized and had red writing all over it! It seems like this neighborhood is a little “ghetto” and from my time there it appears as unsafe. I’ve heard that the front office takes forever to follow up with concerns and my friend stated at night, several young men hanging around outside made her feel uncomfortable when she was arriving home after work. Security needs to be a priority for this hood

Lived here 3 years in that 3 years I had a leaking ceiling for 8 months and they have never repaired the ceiling. My windows dont close all the way. I had 2 cars towed even though I parked where I was told I could park. The complex doesnt care about the tenants. I highly recommend finding a different place to live.

This place is a JOKE !!!!!!! Do not put a application here. I applied it took them 2 weeks ago and I have called many of times, was dealing with Dulce said fax the info, I did waited waited the 3rd day I called said STILL NO ANSWER CALL LATER. I waited until the next day to get a answer so I called the guy O Darius answed said they have not recieved my paperwork yet.....long story short THEY LONELY TAKE YOUR MONEY......I FILED A COMPLAINT WITH THE BBB AGAINST THEM THEY ARE TAKING APPLICATIONS BUT YOU NEVER GET THE ANSWER UNTIL AFTER 3 WEEKS WHEN THERE IS NONE AVAILABLE.!!!!!!

Ive lived in hudson woods for a little over a year now. Its no secret that the maintenance team /staff doesnt have the best track record of making sure a simple work orders gets done. Work orders usually can take 2 weeks to a month before it is complete over here. which is ridiculous, a simple clogged drained or stopped up toilet to a less complicated work order job! either way it takes too.ling and tbey always have excuses! You have to keep reporting and reminding the staff in the office about your work orders because if not, your order will never be completed and nobody will come out to fix you maintenance problem! Ive had to do 1 or 2 maintenance jobs on my own while i was pregnant! Not too mention my A/C unit has been having a issue to where it went out and Ive called the emergency hotline twice to report this issue. A guy came out and told me it was a loose cord and that was the problem was fixed. meanwhile i had to call the emergency number back 5 -10 minutes after he left because my A/C went back out and my heating light comes on when i do turn my system on and very little air comes out barely. Im pregnant so its either leave this little air so i can breath. because Im already experiencing breathing issues due to lack of air..running up my light bill because once you run the system, it does not turn on and off like it should! Im 7 months pregnant and i have a toodler with asthma problems so it sucks thats when i called the emergency number back that they have to tell me that there is nothing they can do for me and on top of that, they cant even let my family borrow on A/C window unit or fans to cool off my apartment. Im very unhappy at this point that me and my family have to suffer because nobody cares whether we burn up in the middle due to no air and have to experience contractions because your too hot! or your toodler crying in the middle of the night because hes hot! its not fair and its unruling. But we pay over $900 in rent for this poor service!! The emergency dispatched also told us that the maintenance guy will have this problem fixed by lunch and here we are 12:48pm and nobody had been here to fix nothing.! which caused me to call back the emergency number only for them to try and see why these people cant do what they say they were gonna do! Hudson woods has continued to show me that their inconsistent and if we havent renewed our lease already this would be the last resort for us!

This has been the worst apartment experience I have ever had. Issues that should have been handled prior to my move werent done until I complained, bug issues and now I have a mouse in my apartment, dont know how many and its not an emergency. Im uncomfortable in my own home. I feel violated and disgusted.

I am writing this as a current resident we have had a rash of break ins to various vehicles and homes. Management dose nothing to ensure the safety of its residences or even concerned. The have 3 courtesy officers that supposedly patrol the area i been here a year now and have yet to see one patrolling the area during the day let alone at night. Head My words and do not move in here avoid south wood realty at all cost. I understand that times are hard but if u can afford it avoid it. This is my advise as a Charlotte Police Officer. Yes Crime is every where but if the people we pay rent to as tenants cant seem to care about our well being and choose not be slumlords. then we can get along just fine. But at 687.00 X12 Month = 8,244.00 a year x 200+ units you do the math at 1,648,800 a year in rent. you would think they could could afford a $10.00 an hour security guard or patrol unit to actually keep there residents and there property safe.

I have lived at Hudson Woods for 18 months and love it. Most of the residence are respecful and the few that arent dont stay long. The staff have always been polite and helpful and the maintence crew cant be beat. The grounds grew are always working to keep up with the property.

The staff will lie to your face!! If you inquire about any fees or anything at all, GET IT IN WRITING! I was told by Lisa, that all I needed to do if Im moving out per company transfer (job transfer) is give a 30 day notice. Well all the sudden when I put in my 30 day notice, there is a $1300.00 fee! I asked her before the new lease was drawn up, I asked her while signing the lease! Now she claims she never said that, and straight up lied to my face in front of her bosses! These people do not care about their tenants, and will make you out to look like the liar. BAD BUISNESS!! IF YOU LIKE TO BE LIED TO ABOUT FEES, THIS IS THE PLACE TO LIVE. Im currently contacting the Charlotte News, and anyone else that will listen, I will not give up!! Lisa should be fired for lying to tenants instead of taking the time to ask someone who knows what theyre doing!

If youre planing to move in the Hudson woods apartments, if you have small children do not, Do not even think about moving to does apartments, I moved there and only lasted a month, I have 3 small children, children all ages make noise and cry for anything well they dont understand that, they came to my apartment 2 times a day well not they, theres this lady shes dark skin shes the assistant manager her name is SANDRA she came to my apartment 2 times a day telling me theres noise complaint . I couldnt even hear my tv every time I put up the volume shell mock on the door saying to put it down like why do I pay rent ? Shes the only one out of 3 woman Ive seen in the office that comes to my apartment . I only see her coming to this one, like shes so racist with Hispanic people and appperantly she has an issue with children and their noise . My question is why rent to people with kids when youre going to make their life miserable and make them leave before even 2 months in the apartment, so please DO NOT MOVE if you have children or if youre Hispanic because this ladys problem is personal . That ooh Im doing my job frase crossed the line .

Hudson Woods is GROSSThe carpet was DIRTY a day after I moved in and they didnt tell me someone had died in my apartment!!!! I had to find out by the previous owner when they came to ask had they gotten any mail!!!! Her dad DIED IN MY APARTMENT AND THEY TOLD ME NOTHING!!!!My car was broken into the 2nd week living thereThe maintenance man used a snake to unclog the toilet and left FECES ALL OVER MY BATHROOM I called and requested they reimburse me for mynruined bathroom decor I was placed on hold for 17mins then the phone hung upI hate I moved here they have ruined my life

These people are scam artists, they will tell u that u have late fees that you are unaware of. FOR example a late water fee is 10.00 since when is it a late water fee if water is supposed to be included in rent . I get paid on the 9th of this every month so Im constantly considerd late for rent . MY rent on my lease is 735$ plus a late fee of 36$ which makes it 771. So how is it one month they send a letter saying my rent is 715$ & another month its 733.$ . that does not add up, I would not recommend living here . All this money that they are making they could at least power wash the apartments to keep SPIDERS from crawling on your head as soon as u walk out the door . very shiesty business going on up there

These apartments are extremely old. Nothing is updated. They want to go up on rent by $50 even though nothing has been updated. These apartments are not worth the price.
