This summer, I had the opportunity to work with Sylvan, as a Program Manager and Teacher. I really enjoyed working with the staff and the families who attend Sylvan. While only being there for a short amount of time, there was a great rapport that was created all around. While working there, I never met a stranger and Julie was always helpful and active in the center. As a Teacher, I do not mind recommending students to a program that is effective, engaging, everlasting, and personalized. These are just a few words that are used to describe Sylvan! I appreciate the experience and hope to return next summer!

We absolutely love Sylvan Learning! Such a great program for my daughter! The Garner center that shes enrolled at is amazing! They are so kind and seem to genuinely care about my daughter and her abilities. We have had such a great experience at Sylvan Learning Center of Garner. Our son, who is now a freshman in high school, works with excellent teachers and specialists on everything from writing and studying skills to homework help and test preparation. I feel like the directors and teachers at the Garner center really partner with my husband and I to ensure that our son is achieving success. And, maybe even more importantly, they have shown him that they care about him and believe in him. We would recommend this center highly!

My 5 year old looks forward to her tutoring sessions with Ms Quiniqua and Ms Heather! They are so wonderful and patient with her and she looks forward to her sessions with them! Highly recommend!

This past March we found ourselves in a spot of needing ACT/SAT prep . We were referred to Sylvan by a friend and it has been the best experience! The staff is awesome especially Quiniqua. She went above and beyond to help my daughter in not only boosting her ACT/Sat scores but her confidence in herself . My daughter improved her ACT score by 4 points and her SAT score by 100 points . We would absolutely recommend Sylvan. My daughter also had help in applying to college and writing her essay . Thank you to everyone at Sylvan for making my daughter a priority and preparing and applying to college less stressful.

My son has always struggled with reading...sight words, strategies, etc. When we first began, he had NO confidence in his reading abilities at all. Although he isnt as fluent as Id like him to be, hes reading much better.Before COVID, we started inside the building with a 3:1 student/ teacher ratio. Once COVID began, Sylvan of Garner was quick to send information to parents informing us of changes they were be implementing, gave several options for continuing or not, as well as offering virtual sessions for my son.He is SOOO excited to work with Ms. Heather that several times hes logged into his virtual session at least 2 hours before his scheduled time! 😊 Hes enjoyed his 1:1 sessions with Ms. Heather, and has grown so much more confident in his reading ability, he wanted to read a book for my entire family (including his great aunts & uncle, grandmother, aunt, etc) one Sunday afternoon. Thats GROWTH!!So thankful to Sylvan of Garner for their support!!

Our son had an amazing turn around after a difficult quarter in 3rd grade. His writing improved dramatically and he enjoys reading so much more. We couldnt be more pleased with the tutoring at Sylvan. The teachers are all so friendly. I would highly recommend Sylvan to anyone who is thinking about it for their child.

My husband William and I have 3 unique children. I was very pleased with the individual attention giving to each child when recent testing results were shared with me. I was quite impressed with the patience and through explanation. A huge bonus occurred when there was a positive/no hassle response when it was clear that changing the original plan of study--based on the testing results for one of our children was necessary. My daughter attended Sylvan in between kindergarten and first grade. Her teacher wanted to give her reading tutoring but I liked how Sylvan could help her in every subject. What a great decision that was! She had a great first grade year and I believe it was because she was so well prepared. My son started at Sylvan when he was 4 years old to help him prepare for his kindergarten evaluation. I was a little worried at first as he had never been to day care or preschool and was in speech therapy. I tried working with him myself, like I did my daughter, but he did not enjoy flash cards like she did, which left us both disappointed. I am so happy to say today that he has been accepted to kindergarten! He knows all his colors, shapes, numbers and letters and he knows how to spell his name! Every tutoring session he earns points and cashes in for prizes, kinda like an arcade, which was great motivation for him. The staff at Sylvan has ALWAYS been warm, friendly and inviting. The facility is nice and clean. I like how I can schedule tutoring session times that are convenient for our whole family and work around extracurricular activities. Siblings can share hours too. I really could go on and on. I have nothing but good things to say! Thank you Sylvan of Garner!

So far my son has loved Sylvan. It has been helpful at home with him doing school work at home. I can tell his confidence is building and that is a great thing. He loves getting tokens so he can go to the Sylvan store. I am so excited about this coming school year and the personal attention Sylvan gives us. Thanks everyone at Sylvan.

The staff members are really professional and friendly. They are great with communication and listening to what my child needed. My child also not only gain help in what she needed to learn and work on but her confidence grew. The main thing I like is that they take the time to get to know the child as an individual. My child isnt like everyone else or learns like everyone else and its easy to forget that in a classroom.

We enrolled our son in Sylvans SAT Prep Course when my son was in the 11th grade and we were very happy with the program. Our son scored very well on the SAT and was accepted at his first choice college. After the SAT program was over, our son wanted to remain at Sylvan for math homework help. The staff is all excellent and very professional. Mason, the Centers director, is very friendly and supportive. Our sons math tutor, Josh, is wonderful. Kristen has also been very helpful. Our son has performed well in math in school and we are very happy. I highly recommend.

Signed my daughters (9 and 7 years old) up for their Girls Stem/ Yoga week long camp and they loved it! Between the engineering, games, and daily yoga breaks at the studio next door, my girls couldnt wait to go each day. It was a wonderful experience and great way to keep little minds occupied during the long days of summer.

My daughter has improved in her reading and in math tremendously. Not just one staff member but all the staff are engaged in her learning. Im a teacher at the Garner location. Ive been with the company 1 year and three months. I enjoy working with Sylvan. Administration is Super!!!!! They are so accommodating and flexible to my full time schedule as a teacher in the working sector. I get the chance to work with such a diverse group of students on such a smaller ratio. The teachers, students and parents are so friendly as well. Although, I usually work 1-3 hours per day, or as my schedule allows, it is so worth it. Sylvan lets me do what I do best, which is to teach. I dont have to worry about lesson plans, parent conferences, interruptions, assemblies, behavior issues, etc. Im treated fairly and with such respect and as the true professional that I am. My voice is heard and opinion is taken into consideration if I have a concern with a students weakness or strength. I enjoy working at Sylvan where my expertise is appreciated and valued. I love giving back to the community and what better way to do that is by working for Sylvan. The students are given every opportunity to succeed in the classroom once they put forth what they have learned at Sylvan into action. A great place to work and new friends to meet. Its also great to work in a place where one is allowed to laugh and have a sense of humor, all the while, teaching students. Sylvan prepared my daughter to take the ACT and SAT and she got in to every college she applied to! They were very easy to work with at the Garner location and my daughter felt very comfortable going there for her tutoring. I highly recommend the Sylvan location in Garner, NC!

My grandson has attended the Sylvan Center in Garner for about 9 months now. He has advanced in his academics tremendously since he began his sessions there. The small group and individual attention he receives has been a wonderful benefit for him. He loves all the instructors and staff. They make him feel so welcome every day he attends.

Our son is having a very positive experience at Sylvan in Garner. The staff are great and he enjoys going to learn each week and he is disappointed when theres a conflict and he doesnt get to go. As a parent I know we have a partnership with Sylvan and it makes the biggest difference and we know that were doing what is best for him. My daughter had been struggling with reading since kindergarten. Her 2nd grade teacher even suggested retention for my child. Believing my daughter just needed the proper help, I took her to Sylvan for an assessment. From the moment I walked in and met the Director, Ryan, I felt confident I was making the right choice. My daughter LOVES Sylvan and their teachers. They are all devoted, caring and understanding. My daughter, when asked who is her favorite teacher at Sylvan, says they all are. Shes been enrolled in Sylvan since July.. Her most recent report card reflects a child who is not only doing well in reading but loves to read. Sylvan is the best investment I couldve made for my child. I highly recommend Sylvan of Garner to anyone who has a child struggling in school.

We noticed that our daughter, Emily was having issues with Math in school. We contacted Sylvan and spoke with Elyse. She was very help in explaining the program and setting up a time for Emily to come in for testing. When Emily went in for testing Elyse was very kind and helpful. She made Emily feel comfortable. When next met with Ryan to find out what kind of instruction Emily would need to excel in Math. He was very helpful in setting Emily up to start at Sylvan. Emily started with Sylvan at the end of January 2013. She has been comfortable with all of the teachers and Sylvan and seems to have learned a lot so far. We are very impressed with Sylvan and would recommend them to any parent whose child is having issues with school.

My son is loving attending Sylvan and getting back into the groove of school and learning before he starts later this month. The staff are so friendly and welcoming and he really does look forward to his sessions. It has been a great experience! Thank you:)

My son was behind 1 grade level on his reading comprehension. We did our best to give him extra worksheets at home to help him improve and we did not see any results. After 1.5 months of Sylvan, he has made significant improvements in reading. He is no longer apprehensive reading out loud in front of the family. In fact, he enjoys his tutoring sessions at Sylvan and do not look at it as a chore. Sylvan is very accommodating for families with busy schedules. I highly recommend Sylvan to anyone that desires their child to receive the extra push to excel!

My name is Cullen Wiggins and I absolutely love Sylvan. The math/homework support is amazing and helped me so much catching up on what I didnt understand in school very well. Also had an oppurtunity to help out with the Sylvan summer STEM Camps. Atmosphere was awesome and the kids had so much fun. I highly reccomend!! I am forever grateful for my sons time at Sylvan Learning Center of Garner! Thanks to the help of everyone there my sons stress and anxiety about homework diminished. The learning atmosphere was perfect for his needs and the small student to teacher ratio gave him the attention he needed to succeed. Communication between the staff and myself was a personal blessing so I could give them any inside scoop on how his week was going, or what test were coming up, and even giving them work he completed at school and struggled with so they could target that subject when he was there. I am sad that we moved away and will no longer be able to attend this specific center.

My son didnt enjoy going had to make him go decided to get out of my contract after the 30 days guarantee still paying in the thousand and he dont even go there anymore make sure you read the fine print and make sure thats where you want you child to go I didnt want to damage my credit so Im still paying his tuition bill. Its just crazy and a major mistake on my part... I cant really say he learned anything or accomplished much since hes in school doing great.

Our son has made great improvements since becoming a part of Sylvan. He has improved in both reading and writing. The staff in knowledgeable and friendly. He really looks forward to going to his sessions.

Sylvan has been a great experience for my son. We currently got to Sylvan 3x a week and that can be challenging with school and sports. At times my son can get frustrated and Sylvan is very good about trying different strategies to ensure his sessions are a positive learning experience. The staff is very friendly and offers a safe learning environment. They are open to receiving feedback and customize my sons learning experience to his strengths while considering his weakness as new goals to work towards. As a parent, I appreciate the monthly conferences to discuss his progress and the opportunity to engage our teacher at any point throughout the year. I am happy to be apart of the Garner Sylvan family!

The progress and improvement made by my son in the 8 months he has been here is nothing less than incredible! I consider Mason and the rest of the staff at Sylvan to be important partners in my sons education.

Sylvan Garner has been great for suplementing the education received in public schools with quality programs. My oldest daughter did not need much support. Instead, she just needed someone around to answer questions when they came up. Sylvan was able to provide the right level of guidance when needed.My younger daughter needed help interpreting reading comprehension questions found on the classic public school exams. Once she received that help, we kept going to Sylvan to continue to challenge her. We found that Sylvan was not just for kids struggling in school but also for those who needed and wanted an additional, academic challenge.

We battled to get my son caught up in reading since first grade. After pulling out all of the stops at school and not achieving success, I reached out to Sylvan. If I only knew then what I know now, I would have never waited 5 years to contact Sylvan while trying to solve this myself. We are new to Sylvan and I am shocked at how much progress we have made in just a few months. My son loves it...especially working with the ipad! The staff is amazing and finally, as a parent, I have an advocate to not only solve his problems from the past but help me navigate through any issues at our new school. All of these gains have produced a confident young man who absolutely loves school. In a million years, I didnt think we would be here and I couldnt have done it without Sylvan! I cant wait to see where we are in another two months. I will keep you posted!Update: Unbelievable! My son rocks! For the first time in our life, we started out this school year with a bang and it has continued. We made tremendous progress in 36 hours at Sylvan...way better than what they promised! It was jaw-dropping and totally explained the confidence I am seeing in him. Thank goodness I found this solution! It was worth every penny!

My son has been receiving tutoring at Sylvan for the last couple of years. The staff is wonderful, and he loves the tutors. He had a complete dislike of math, and with Sylvans help, it has become his favorite subject! I could not have asked for a better tutoring environment.

People at this location are very attentive to all my childs needs. She has really come along way from what she started with. They have taught her to use her time wisely and better organization skills. They are very friendly every time you walk in the door.

I only have great things to say about Sylvan in Garner. My daughter loves going there and gets excited on the days she has to go for tutoring. She has been going for a few months now for reading help. She has gone from absolutely not reading independently to saying that she loves to read! And she is reading now without her father or myself having to practically beg her to do so. We are very satisfied and are already seeing improvements in our daughters school performance.

I have seen such a big change in my son since he started attending Sylvan. He was struggling with his reading and since he started Sylvan he has made great improvement. Not only is his reading better, but Sylvan has allowed him to build confidence. He used to become easily frustrated with reading, but not anymore. The teachers there have been great and Sylvan has been very good about keeping me updated with his progress. I appreciate that Sylvan stays in contact with my sons teachers so that we can keep up with his progression in school too. I feel that this has been a great investment and I would recommend Sylvan to any other family out there who has a kid that may need a little extra help.

I have been a student at sylvan garner for 6 months and have been tutored in Pre-Calculus . It has greatly helped me in math and even in other subjects. The staff is very courteous and professional. It has impacted me with improving my study skills and as an overall better student.

Thank you Sylvan!!! It was like pulling teeth to get my nephew to read and to get his homework done because he would rush. It was frustrating not only for him but for the family. With Sylvans help, strategies were created and now he takes his time, goes over his work and asks for help if he doesnt understand. The staff is very supportive of each student and stays with the task if he/she does not get it. I am very pleased by how my nephew has done an about-face with his school work.

Toward the end of this school year, my husband and I were told that our son is failing 2nd grade and will have repeat it next year. Our son is also in the exceptional children program and receives services for speech. He is so smart but has some difficulty with reading comprehension, we think in part due to his developmental delay. His regular teacher as well as his speech teacher told us that there was nothing we could do; his grades were not good enough to move him forward. Knowing that this would devastate our son who works so hard despite his language barrier, we decided to reach out to Sylvan. A Sylvan representative was present during the end of school meeting where we were told that his Mscore was an F and he needed to be at least at a K. Instead of having him fail on the spot, the Sylvan representative asked the school to wait until the end of the summer and retest him after being in their program all summer to see if he could bring that score up. Throughout the summer he worked so hard and we kept encouraging him to do his best. We were also getting good reports from Sylvan that he was progressing very well. Having to catch up so much though, we weren’t sure if all his progress at Sylvan would be enough to move him forward. Today my son went back to school to take his end of year test over again. This time his score was an M! He officially is moving into the 3rd grade. I have no words to describe how much our family appreciates everyone at Sylvan and always being the positive voice that we needed to get through this.

Sylvan Learning Center has been most helpful!Our son raised his SAT score by 230+ points.The center was diligent in communicating with parents and students.The classes were extremely helpful and the instructors were knowledgeable in their subject matter.I would highly recommend Sylvan.They are professional and the students are top priority!!Tonya Rankin

Megan and all the staff turn my daughter live around she by helping her understand her school work and giving her confidence in herself. Me and wife cant put in to words how much each one of the staff help her. She went from almost going to fail to A and B honor roll at school. After joining Sylvan, not only did Cs & Ds turn into Bs, but my sons attitude changed. Not just in general, but he would be dropped off with a negative attitude towards having to do his homework, and come out with a smile on his face...happy. What had become a feeling of defeat, from being overwhelmed with a difficult school year, was turned around in the last inning of the season so to speak. This is because of the wonderful and dedicated staff at the Garner Sylvan location. I can not say enough about these people and this program. To anyone who is questioning the expense...it is ABSOLUTELY money well spent! I would love for my son to continue in this program just for its benefits.

I have been a part of Sylvan Learning Center in Garner since my son was in 5th grade. I really thought there would be many years of tears and frustration for my son throughout his entire years of grade school. He is now a Honors Student in High School. I am glad I invested in his education early at Sylvan. I can see the impact Sylvan has made in his learning, study and organizational skills. Out of all the cars I have purchased, loans and investments I have made over time, this is far the best!! Sylvan is part of our family and we have embraced the center as an addition to our family. I thank God for sending Sylvan my way to open up a great window of opportunity to further my childs learning abilities. I look forward to contining this relationship as we move in to another era of education for our son to pursue his life-long dream to attend a great university.

I am a student at Sylvan and I can honestly say my experience at Sylvan is completely amazing. I started in February and I was failing math and when I got my report card I passed math and the final with a B. They truely care about you and your academics. And they take your grades very seriously. I reccommed Sylvan Learning Center in Garner to everyone who is struggling! And the best part is they are very reasonable.

After trying several tutor services, we finally decided to try Sylvan to help our son who was struggling with Geometry 2 years ago. Our son went from frustrated and shut down regarding math to understanding and ending the year with a high B. When the new school began last year, we started with homework/testing support once a week and he never once fell behind in his understanding of the concepts. He ended the year with an A in Pre-Calculus! Since it worked so well last year, we have already begun this school year with weekly homework and testing support sessions for his AP Calculus class.Sylvan has been incredibly helpful, supportive and communicative. I could not recommend it more highly for anyone who has a child who is struggling in a subject or with school in general. The boost in self-confidence has been just as, if not more, important than the rise in grades for our son.

Results speak for themselves. My son was diagnosed with Autism when he was three, and ADHD when he was six. He was a challenge to teach! His reading skills suffered greatly, he was NOT learning to read, and I could see that teachers were giving up on him! My son, well, he just wanted to watch TV, forget reading anything. After a few years of struggling, he would do anything to avoid reading. He gave up too! I took action! After three plus years at Garner Sylvan Learning Center, he is now getting As and Bs in classes like science and humanities in middle school!!! He would still prefer to watch TV but he does read books about his favorite topics. The team at the Garner Sylvan Center have overcome EVERY obstacle to teaching my son and he continues to excel in his reading and we also added math. They have witnessed a major transformation in my son! The staff was passionate about helping him, never a hesitation, they forged forward no matter what. They care, they really care about my son and our family. I was so grateful when a staff member accompanied me to an IEP meeting recently. Her presence made a huge difference and it had a major impact in the result of that meeting. So they also support my efforts to advocate for appropriate accomodations for my son within the school system because of his still developing skills and strengths. WOW! I mean thats what Napoleon Hill was talking about in Think and Grow Rich, the successful will go the extra mile just because. I am forever and truly grateful to Garner Sylvan Learning Center staff members! With all my heart, thank you. From our family to yours, we love you!

My daughter is 9yrs old and began attending Sylvan to improve her math skills. Sylvan has helped to improve her confidence in working thru math problems. She was able to catch up on the skills she missed during the regular 4th grade school year. Ms. Elise went out of her way to create writing homework for my daughter to help her work on that skillset at home too. The entire staff has been very caring. Attending Sylvan thru the summer has her ready to go once the new school year starts. We are looking forward to a great 5th grade year. The lifetime testing will allow me to test her periodically throughout the school year to ensure she is remaining ontrack.
