This is a wonderful gym for a great price. The kids club is truly the highlight of it for us and our kids. Their employees sincerely care about their members. And there is no lunk alarm here. I never try to be loud but my husband and I do get into our workouts and the exertion can definitely catch you off guard at times, where it is hard not to let out sounds in the moment. The staff is very encouraging and appreciates the members are here to workout and be the best they can be.

The worst bathrooms I’ve ever been to at any fitness connection location.I’m not even going to speak on how my bag was snatched by someone who didn’t have an active membership and shouldn’t have been in the gym. Management got to hold their people accountable on the conditions of that gym. ESPECIALLY nowadays when cleanliness should be nonnegotiable. The men’s restroom are ALWAYS nothing short of DISGUSTING.

Hours should really be extended, the mesquite location is open till midnight. Also lately it’s become increasingly difficult to locate dumbbells/pulley attachments. Even during non peak hours, the rack is empty. No ones using them they’re just not there. So many machines not working…

Wish it was open 24/7 again. I had to join a new gym because the hours are so limited. I loved going to this one but sadly it’s not available to me when I need it. I will be canceling my membership because I keep having to pause the membership. Clearly it’s not going to open full time anytime soon so good by Fitness Connection 😞😞😞

Please re open the gym back to normal hours especially on the weekend…how can a gym close at 5??? At lease extend the weekend hours…..it clearly doesn’t make any sense because every other gym around the area has already open up fully….people who have a busy week wanting to workout during the weekend can’t even do it cause y’all close too early…..I love the gym, been working out here since 2016 but if this continues…you’re going to lose a lot of membership

A gym that was once 24/7... is not 24/7 anymore... but the price didnt go down? Health is not an excuse, they were the first gym to open up after the pandemic, and there are no social distancing protocols. They dont care about health, they care about not having to pay an employee to work overnight. There are plenty of 24/7 gyms in the area.

I was at fitness connection today, I been a member since 2018 and I can say it’s a good gym not excellent but good. The people at the front desk are very helpful, friendly and good communicators they deserve a pizza party or something. The machines are good as well but other gyms are upgrading in their leg machines. This gym really needs to upgrade their machines as well. This gym needs to add a hip thrust machine for safety reasons and also because the squat racks and hamstrings machines and leg press machines are always full. Customers shouldn’t have to wait.

The spin cycling class that begins at 6:45 (garland tx) used to be my favorite class. I have to wait at least 15 mins or more in line to make sure I get the bike I want but it seems like someone other than the instructor has the code to the door and saves bikes for themselves and their friends. Very unprofessional and I pay my membership just like them. It has been addressed several times but the situation has not been fixed. Someone needs to make sure no one goes in before the class starts, it should be FIRST COME FIRST SERVED with the bikes. Do better fitness connection(garland).

Its one of the more affordable gyms in the area. Of course, it isnt as big as the competition such as LA Fitness, but its got the basics. As well as some little bonuses such as a theater room, and a sauna. It even offers free classes (such as zumba) on a first come first serve basis.Theres a woman work-out only zone which is phenomenal. The locker rooms/bathrooms are spacious. There are even various different dressing rooms.Staff is friendly and the patrons seem to be following covid guidelines. All in all a good experience.

The experience is pretty much always the same! Nice facility with no waiting on machines. Bathrooms are available and doesnt have any foul odors. Kinda like your own personal gym at home. I guess for 10 bucks a month I cant complain one bit!!

I havent experienced any issues at this gym my only complaint is the hours listed on the entrance are wrong. It states theyre open 24 hours every day when theyre clearly not, I went on a Sunday and they were closed. They used to have a sign with their actual hours but they removed it, it feels very shady, false advertising.Update: they have corrected their hours. So Im upgrading my review from 1 star to 4. I think they do a pretty good job at maintaining the place, keeping it clean. Although I have noticed at almost any time of the day there are almost never enough 15-25lb weights in the free weight area. Also the fitflix area will sometimes never start a movie and we are just left watching a title sequence for hours. I am not sure how hard it is to push a play button but it cant be too difficult right?

Everytime I go there they have a sign at the door saying its closed. The hours are never consistent and somethings always going on that warrants them to close for the day. Please fix your hours. The majority of us get off work at 5.

Dont ever sign up for this gym. I have been a member here for over 4 years and this last batch of management did a number with hiring the sales team. Ive never considered canceling my gym membership until now. I have witnessed the deterioration of the level of quality in this gym drop over the past four years from 4 stars to 1 star, if that.First off, Gill, who works at this location and claims to be a manager, ignored social distancing and came to workout right behind me and my girlfriend within 2 feet of us. My girlfriend felt unsafe from the lack of awareness and social distancing on Gills part, especially since we were doing kickbacks. I told her its okay and to start her 4th set, to which Gill replied Its okay, you wont hit me. If you dont like it you can go workout somewhere else. During the rest of our workout Gill was looking at us in an intimidating way.After this awkward encounter and our workout I asked the lady, who told me she was the manager, for the corporate number to report this incident and she ended up giving me the medical care line number. I went back in to try to speak to her and Gill was standing there at the front desk in an aggressively-postured manner with another one of his co-workers in sales. When I asked to speak to the manager he kept asking me for my phone number to log me into the system like some kind of mafia-esque strong-arming tactic from a Martin Scorsese movie. The lady was standing there at the front desk as well and when I tried to speak to her she completely ignored me. Gill then told me he was the manager and kept trying to get in my face without a mask on after I confronted him about what he said. To this he replied Youre accusing me of looking at your girlfriend in a weird way?!?!?!? Youre f****** crazy man, get out of my gym! Him and his stocky co-worker then opened the exit door and followed me out yelling as if they wanted to initiate some kind of physical altercation, which would be a mistake on their part considering I have been a practitioner of the art of Muay Thai and Grappling for 7+ years. His stocky co-worker said he would reply to this review about how much I cursed when in reality I kept it professional and did not utter a single, profane word while I was speaking to Gill at the front desk.The sheer audacity and nerve of these individuals is borderline criminal. With the way workout culture is and the way women feel in a vulnerable area dominated by men the way this man acted is utterly disgusting. This happened during a pandemic.Secondly, I have been waiting for the hack-squat machine to be fixed for 2+ years. Why has it not been addressed yet? I have addressed multiple managers about the issue over this time period only to be told that the part is being shipped and the machine will be fixed shortly.I guess thats the level of quality you get whenever you hire young, college-aged adults and individuals who likely have criminal records and cant get an actual job.

Very bad customer service. Rude workers and the manager was the worst. They are greedy for money. Not clean. They rarely clean the equipment. When I quit with a 29 days in advance, because I was unable to do 30 days in advance because they were closed due to COVID-19. They charged me for that month and did not waive when I explained the situation . Instead they also charged me a late fee when I didn’t pay. It’s not worth the the $15 they charge . Goto a cleaner gym that might charge a little more.

I loved coming to this gym when I was living in Garland, but I have moved further away and sent in my letter following all of the directions at the end of April to cancel. I have continued to be charged the last two months and havent complained because I read it can take a month or two, but I am not okay with being charged the annual fee on the 15th of this month. This needs to be taken care of. Who can I contact? I did things the right way and am still being screwed. Please help.If you NEVER plan on leaving this gym, go ahead and join, but if you think you may ever want to leave... as of right now, I suggest finding a different gym.

Most complaints are about cancelations and the lengthy process it takes. It shouldnt be this hard especially for a company who knows of these complaints because it is on every review site including maps. Search any FC in the state and customers have the same complaint. FIX THIS IMMEDIATELY!

This fitness connection LOVES to scam people, many of them being high school students. Dallas and Austin locations are the only ones that require a letter for cancellation. There are so many reviews on how extremely difficult it is to cancel the membership. I have tried 3 separate times mailing, even went to the gym another time and even personally wrote a letter in front of the staff to make sure I have the right information, and also tried to pay extra for postage a separate time. 5 times Ive tried to cancel over the past 3 years. I called and each time they charge me and its either oh we didnt get or no notes on my accounts. Now Im getting a collection fee that I wasnt aware I was being charged with. Not even that, the maintenance of the gym is done poorly. Please never go to this gym and read the reviews. If you are having problems please make sure you take pictures and screenshots. Maybe even record a phone call.

Like I told them before, if its not safe to open the public fully why would I want to take a risk and go to the gym? When I went to the store directly, they were no help. So, I froze my account for 90 days and on thursday, 10/1, Ill be ready to go back. But, because I love the sauna so much and this facility is just being cheap and stingy with the energy to run the sauna, as they were was before COVID, which as I thought is the CEOs decision, even if he responds to say hes following guidelines, Im seriously considering to just wait in that queue a day to cancel that membership and go to HOTWORX which is closer to me. There is no need to have the sauna closed with a COVID excuse when theres multiple saunas at other facilities in the same area active.

Fitness Connection gyms are very spacious with a variety of machines to work out on. They provide a child care facility for parents who are in need. There is several different classes that you can take and on-site trainers if youre in need. For someone who is looking to feel better about themselves, without spending an exorbitant amount of money I would recommend this gym. Also the manager here is kinda cool.

The gym is great! And the staff at the front counter seems so sweet. But mid management needs to be aware of their appearance towards customers. Like, SMILE !!!!!It appears that sales employees are stressed, and front counter manager too stressed and walk in fear. Trust me, if customers begin to feel like they aren’t appreciated, they WILL go elsewhere. There are too many $10 gyms in the area. Then everybody suffers!I know that your job is important to you. Your job is important to me too! Your job is important to the whole staff, the owners, even the rest of your customers. We all appreciate you and give you encouragement. Absolutely horrid company. Man, just ridiculous what liars. Tried to get a membership canceled caused it was not being used (we still have 2 for the other family) and they told me to cancel by May 15 so the annual fee would not renew. I send it through mail certified mail on May 10, but they still charged me. I called them and then they said oh we did not receive it, but continue pushing and they magically found it and said they would give us refund. Now a few days later no refund. We call back and they said oh no you were suppose to cancel before April 15 to get a refund. WHAT? I have in in email that our date was May 15. Just crazy what liars they are! Feel like cancelling all our membership now. No wonder they have a low rate of $10 a month. They trick you with the annual fees charging you whenever they feel like it. Actually on top of this, we were promised with a rate of $10 a month, but instead got charged $23 a month, so right now working on that issue as well.

I liked the gym the couple times, I went, however, the kids center closes early and I am not able to go work out. I had this membership for 2 years and did not go but a handful of times. So I called and got the information needed to cancel my subscription on Dec.3 and sent in the request the next day by mail on Dec. 4. I was charged in January which I understood due to 30-day notice but, I have yet to be charged again this month!!! Nice gym for the price. Never have a problem getting a machine and the classes are pretty good. The only two complaints I have is I wish they would get some wipes...I hate having to spray whatever that stuff is onto paper towels!! And my second complaint is that it is always FREEZING in that place. I have to always wear long sleeves. And yes, I warm up when I start working out, but I can feel the breeze from those fans blowing right on me and I do not like to feel that while Im working out. My husband doesnt like that it is so cold either so he goes to a different gym now. Contrary to others, I was told from the beginning (because I asked), that I had to write a letter to cancel; I wrote a letter, and his membership was cancelled, no problem. Since they received it after the first, I had to pay for a full month that he didnt use it, but I expected that as well. Again, for the price, this is a really decent gym. Ill keep spraying on a paper towel and wearing long sleeves...even in the summer! :)

This gym is a joke! I was a member at Impact Fitness which closed and Fitness Connection bought their memberships. When I first called to cancel was told that I could do so over the phone since I no longer lived in the area. I found out the following month that was not the case as I was still being charged. When I called, I spoke to the manager Miranda and was told I had to come in and sign paperwork. After driving 30 miles out of my way to do so was told everything would be taken care of. This was the ONLY TIME I ever stepped foot in this gym. This was back in February and found out in May that they were still deducting my account. March would still be charged due to their 30 day notice requirement. I called back into the gym and spoke to Lisa in which I was told that Miranda no longer worked there and cancellation form was never sent to corporate. Was told that Lisa would do so and I would be reimbursed for April and May charges. After not being reimbursed a week later, I called back and spoke to Lisa in which she referred me to a 1800 number. I called that number and spoke to Priscilla. There I was told that form had still not been sent over but a note was made. She told me she would push through and that it would be 2 WEEKS before I should expect to see refund. Also said she would activate cancellation so they wouldnt further deduct my account. Today I look at my bank account and guess what!? Another charge for June! Call the 1800 number again and speak to Stephanie. Tell her of the situation and am once again told they havent got the form, just a note on the account (surprise, surprise). Thankfully I had asked for a copy of this form back when I signed with Miranda in FEBRUARY!!!!! Stephanie asked that I email her and Melissa the form and they will have corrected. We will see if this works this time or if its just another lie Ive been fed!

By far one of the negative most places both with staff, instructors, trainers, and members. I have been a target for a variety of fed in hate insults the last 3 months since joining at 3 locations. The diversity is higher at this gym which probably is a factor in the non-cultured class name calling and gossip spreading. The facilities are big with several rooms and equipment. A person should have a positive environment and experience when working out or anywhere. I have complained every visit without it being fixed.

You have to write a snail mail. They lie to you about the address so your cancellation letter can get lost in the mail. I disputed the charges with my bank in order to stop payment. THEN headquarters will finally call and ask for $50 in late fees and provide the right address for cancellation! While sending the false late charges to collections!

Frustrating experience here, bad customer services, rudeness, impolite.Also they don’t maintain the equipments well,my shoes got tear by the treadmill with some thing stuck on it.Luckily my foot was not hurt .I tried to tell the employees over there to fix that treadmill, so other people don’t get hurt by that,but they didn’t care about it.they are closed very ealy in weekday and closed on Sunday.

Worst staff ever. The black guy was so aggressive to customers. Why would I pay 49 + 10 + 10 (69$) for 2 months while local gyms give me better deals? When I chose to leave and opt for other gym, the black guy aggressively asked “What gym is better?” He asked his manager for help with an mocking voice, implying we are to stupid to understand what he said, however the white manager had no better manner. Don’t work out there, if you don’t want the staff to ruin your day mood.

Never apply for membership in any fitness connection club.It a scam.They have crazy cancelling.You have to send a letter with some simple information or else do not work. And the letter take 2 months to process.And if the letter doesnt have a tracking info they claim they never received it and still charge your money.Be aware of any fitness connections.

Great staff, wonderful equipment, great music because I dont like to wear headphones, Sauna is a little small but it can fit like 30 people.. Not to mention very inexpensive!! Love this gym especially this location!! And my 3 year old loves the kids club!!

Worst gym ever! It is a scam! Just find another place. Once you are enrolled you have to write a letter, yes a letter!!! to cancel your subscription and it takes a month. To enroll, They ask for account number and routing number of your checking account. I have been there only once and it is more than enough. Right now, I am in the process of setting a fire to send my cancellation request by smoke! I believe it is faster. If you wanna feel how are gyms in stone age just go to this place, you wont be disappointed.

0 stars.... My whole family signed up and i had all the accounts added to my bank account i thought no big deal it was only $10 each person monthly..or so i thought... There had been several times i was charged twice in the same month for all accounts! I had to call each time to sort it out. They are thiefs, very dishonest. When i tried to cancel they made it impossible . ill never go there nor recommend this place to anyone

I do NOT recommend this company to anyone. This is the reason why: I signed up on 3/16/18 for a monthly membership. I have met every months payment on time through the bank draft they impose. I have just found out this company has dinged my credit stating that I had another account with them since 2016 & have not paid the balance since then. That actually makes no sense because how would they have allowed 2 accounts in the first place???? So now I have to make scanned copies of the one & only membership documents I have, along with my DL & send an email disputing the charges. Which of course I will, but the damage to my credit has been done. Needless to say I am canceling the one & only membership I have every had. I am going to invest in a home gym. BEWARE OF THIS COMPANY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I had to chose one star to get this posted. My choice would have been NO STARS AT ALL!!!!!!!!!!

Cancellation is a pain, make sure you understand the whole membership termination process and you are okay with it before becoming a member. You need to write and send a certified mail (not email, physical mail!) to them a month in advance!Other than that I didnt have any problem. Staff are friendly, devices are vary, its clean and they have enough shower and closets and its the cheapest. I enjoyed running in their theater room.

Well, I was seriously considering to sign up for this location. But after several dozens of bad experiences and reviews that Ive been reading my consideration disappeared quickly.L.A. Fitness can keep my business, rather pay $25+ a month(Plus use of multiple locations) for a clean facility, clean machines, clean restrooms and friendly HELPFUL staff.Management or Corporate: You seriously need to reevaluate this location. Unless crapy is what your going for?

Definitely not enough lower weight dumbbells which is a problem at all of the locations. The people here dont have much courtesy. They just leave weights all around the gym so you have to search for them or use something different. Ive never seen staff putting weights back where they belong.

Staff is rude and you cannot cancel it. Fitness Connection is literally scam, they make it so hard to cancel. Wrote 2 letters to cancel but they said they never received. Make sure you keep your tracking of your letter. Charged me 2 months fee + annual fee > $70 to cancel the 3rd time at the front desk.

For anyone who is looking to get a membership here PLEASE make sure you plan on staying with them for the rest of your life. It is almost impossible to cancel your membership. I am currently disabled and no longer able to use the gym. I have not gone to the gym in over a year due to my disability. Ive tried sending a letter a couple times, called customer service a few times and my account is still being charged!
