This isnt a business it’s a private residence
My wife and I hired Quality Construction and Remodeling to install a coal stove, mount the stove pipe on the outside of our home, re-flash the existing chimney and remove leaking skylights from our garage roof. The owner came out and gave us verbal estimates for the work; the skylights were to be a separate estimate. It was explained that wed need his estimates in writing, as we needed to submit them to our bank for a home improvement loan....it took a month for him to get them to us, despite repeated calls and texts which went unanswered. It wasnt until my wife called from her phone ( a number he didnt recognize on caller ID ) that we actually spoke again. We finally got estimates via email. We have no complaints about the work that was done when the stove was installed, other than our chimney for the coal stove isnt true vertical, slanting to the west and giving the appearance of having been installed by amateurs. No complaints on the chimney flashing at all.We didnt have them do work on the garage roof; the initial estimate was $500; then it went to $635. Not happy about the increase but we were still going to have it completed. It wasnt until the day before that project was to start that the price increased another hundred dollars to $735, which we declined. That last increase was communicated via a text message exchange, very unprofessional in my opinion! The owner didnt have the common courtesy to call us.Our garage roof work is now being done by an Ashland company that specializes in metal roofs. The price? $500, and it comes with a 30-year warranty.
