My husband and I were visiting from out of town and came upon this barbershop. My husband was beyond happy with his haircut! By far one of the best ones he’s had! Definitely recommend!

Devastating.My 17 year old son grew his hair for a year. We went in finally after he decided he was ready to get a cut. Showed a picture of exactly what he wanted. Which was clear in the picture twists on top and cut underneath and the barber just did something completely different. I am not a barber or cosmetologist i do not know the lingo or terms to use. I feel like that is the job of the barber to make sure he understands what we want and how can you misunderstand and actual picture. It was a picture of long twists/dreads on top with the bottom faded. How is my son going to get twists if you faded all his long hair on top and gave him a hair style that he did not ever want. We are both so upset

I’ve came to this location 2 times since being in gainesville. I have been always a High Tipper especially for what these gentlemen and women do.However this business needs to become updated on the laws and the rules of COVID . the mask mandate was lifted and does NOT require a mask to civilians who are vaccinated.I have done my part to protect the community and to make sure everyone is safe. But to be turned away for the negligence of these employees and owner and them not staying updated on the Rules and Requirements for covid baffles me.The owner I guess is very very unprofessional and didn’t even give a second to ask if I had a mask or to be a place to still require a mask after the fact .. to Offer to a paying customer.Most say they would like more money or they have been unemployed due to covid, but when someone has taken the appropriate measures to be able to have this world go back to normal,,, you turn them away? rudely.I personally will not return to this barbershop. There’s plenty of people who accept the fact that people are now vaccinated with legit proof to show.Get updated on your laws people ! DO YOUR PART!

2nd Haircut experience in Gainesville and there appears to be a culture of scheduling appointments in this area. I’m use to the military style first come; however, as my first time here without an appointment things were really smooth and wait was not long at all. Shop staff was very professional and friendly. I would recommend this shop to a fellow soldier!

Great place and wonderful nice people. Really a stand up place. Everyone there is friendly and kind. They took me in last minute Even though they were about to close. I’ve been trying to find a barber in Gainesville for so long, I’ve been greatly disappointed every time or haven’t been happy. I’m from Miami and I had the same barber since I started cutting my hair and he is amazing but unfortunately too far! I’m very picky with how I like my hair and how my hair is cut and how my eyebrows are done but I think I just found who I’m going to be loyal to!! Very happy. Dee was specifically the one who did my cut, he did a great job and it was done so effortlessly, he has a real talent and literally the first barber here in Gainesville who did my eyebrows correctly and actually did them. Honestly though as I was looking around all the clients getting a haircut from other barbers looked fresh so I honestly would let any of them cut my hair which for me is a lot to say. Had to leave a review because I know For barbers I look very hard at the reviews and I wanted to help someone come to this great place. Anyways I left happy and I’m still happy. Thanks guys! And thank you for the birthday wishes. Will definitely be seeing me for my next haircut.

Long wait sometimes but its worth it, with a few active talking barbers aware of the news and sports which I like. Theres also a TV on for everyone to watch while they wait and some pretty comfortable seating. Their cuts always get me compliments so this is definitely my main barber shop👌

I had been going to fades and fros for a haircut for about two years. The quality of the haircut is always good, however, the service is hit or miss. I went to get a haircut one day and I was ignored for quite a while. When it was my turn, an appointment showed up and was taken next even though I had been waiting for an hour. Although it is understandable to take an appointment before a walk-in, communication is very important as well. The barber did not communicate to me my place in line, or that he had an appointment coming and could not take me right away. After waiting for an hour and thirty minutes, the barber proceeded to take another client even though I was next. I left without getting a haircut because I could not wait any longer. The bottom line is the haircuts may be good, but the service takes away from the experience. Unfortunately, this bad experience does not make me want to go back to this barbershop.

Scheduled an appointment over the phone. Once arrived was a very short wait before getting in the chair. Did the cut exactly like I asked and was super efficient. Had a negative experience at another highly recommended barber and was very apprehensive about trying this place despite this place also being highly recommended. Did not disappoint! Was seen by a young man (didn’t catch his name). Will definitely be back! 💇🏾‍♂️

Went here for cuts in college, many years ago, and was never disappointed. Recently moved back to North Florida and had to come visit my old spot again for a fade & trim. Best cut Ive had in a long time! Will be coming regulary again.

It is all in the name, and the salon has the retro feels to it (open to conversations, members of the community are around sharing their ideas). 10/10. Definitely recommend. I was served by a younger gentleman who specializes in Afro hair. This has to be the worst customer service experience I’ve ever experienced in my life. The barber should almost complete disregard for the reasonsble wants of the customer. The haircut process felt rushed and cold and the haircut itself was overpriced for what I received. The worst part of this experience was being told that I would be forced to pay for a haircut that I didn’t want. It seemed that establishment in general is great; however, my experience with this barber was enough to make me never consider getting my hair cut from this place again.

The name says it all. Tight fades and blowouts at a great price. Sometimes the wait can get long. Ive got my hair cut at a couple of other places around town. Fades and Fros is by far the best Ive been to in Gainesville.
