Advance Auto Repair & A/C is the best place for your car maintenance/repair needs in Gainesville. Mr. Lorne Green (from Bonanza fame if youre old enough to remember the name) is honest, hard working, and an expert mechanic. Our RV lost braking power driving through Gainesville on our way up north for Thanksgiving and AAA towed us to his shop as hes one of AAAs trusted maintenance providers in the area. He quickly diagnosed the problem, completed the repair, and charged us about half of what we estimated we would pay. We were on the road in about an hour and a half. We never had a brake problem again. This was about 10 years ago and his shop is where we send my son and his fellow Gator students when they have a car problem!

Theres no other place in Gainesville that I will leaving as satisfied as I do when Lauren and his team of mechanics work on my cars. Ive been bring my cars to Lauren for 6 years and never once felt overpriced or taken advantage of. The reason i return so much is because of my car addiction and not because of the repairs they have done to my car. The attention to details is why I never go anywhere else to get my cars worked on. I worked for Mr. Loren back in 2006 when I was at Gainesville job corps for work base learning he taught me everything I now know about automotive mechanics. I would like to just thank him for teaching me.

If it weren’t for Sheila and Lorne I would not have a vehicle. They are helpful, informative, and overall just a joy to work with. We had the best experience of our lives with this place. The owner is very intelligent, and he knows what he is doing. I highly recommend him to anyone with car problems, specially Jaguars. Lauren and his wife and his son make a team. Their honesty says it all. I have changed my vision of mechanics after dealing with this place. He worked on our car after hours, on Friday night and gave it back to us within one hour. We never expected to make it home, and we did it. They ordered the part and received it and replaced it. We thought it was something more expensive, and he said that it was not. He could have changed all parts and charged us an arm and a leg, but his integrity is untouchable. I have gone to Advanced Auto Repair twice now, and every time they service my car they do a fantastic job. The first time I went here was when my car was in critical condition, I came after hours and Mr. Lorne still took time to service my car. He ordered the parts and got to fixing my car. He charged me an affordable price---not an arm and a leg like other mechanics. I wish I had a mechanic like him back home! Mr. Lorne, his wife, and their whole team are very knowledgeable, courteous, friendly, and honest. Today I got my brakes fixed and they did it in a fast and efficient manner. I dont usually refer my friends to mechanics, because I have never had a truly good experience, but I will keep referring Mr. Lorne and Advance Auto Repair because they are not only affordable and friendly, but they are also the best at what they do.

Not only was he able to complete the repair more quickly than the first mechanic, he helped me with two other issues at the same time, and for a very fair price. I had so many bad experiences at the Gainesville Dodge Dealership that I started asking around for service center recommendations. Advance Auto Repair was recommended by multiple people. As a UF student I would recommend this shop to anyone who is not from town and is looking for a good local service center.

Camping thru town and stopped at a local burger joint for lunch. No parking? so i pulled under a tree right next to it where it seemed everyone parked. There unfortunately was a piece of an old street sigh sticking up thru the ground that damaged my muffler. asked the owner if he had insurance for his property and accused me of scamming him...???? Anyways a very cool sheriff came and took the report. Next day i googled auto repair and Advanced auto repair in Gainesville had the best reviews. i stopped by and Markeith the owner calmly listened to me, took a look, with his team right away and said they got it. One hour later as i went into town on my bicycle i got a call from his lovely wife Dawn who gave me a very fair estimate. 2 hours later i came by to pick it up and she had reduced the total because it took less time. What good people!!!! i will forever remember how quick and reasonable they were in fixing my car. Mega thumbs up for Advanced auto repair and Markeith and Dawn.
