DO NOT RENT FROM THEM!!! This management property took over my rental in the last 3 months of lease, had no clue about the preconditions of the house, and completely SCREWED us out of our security deposit. Upon moving into this place (912 NW 3rd Avenue), the previous tenants left trash all over the house, took absolutely no care of the home, and even left dirty dishes in the dishwasher! My roommates and I scrubbed both the inside and outside of the house (which was caked in dirt and mold) for more than a week. If anything, we really tried to fix up the house to make it liveable, and CERTAINLY left it in significantly better condition than when we moved in. The place was SO BAD, there was literally black mold in every vent, and rats living in the attic (and walls!!) that would be active during the night. Even with these factors, Mitchel Reality stole more than half of our security deposit to address the preconditions that were caused by YEARS of neglect from the previous landlord. This reality company quite literally swooped in at the last months of our lease in order to profit over young women desperate for affordable housing. Absolutely shameful—on both the part of Mitchel Reality Services as well as previous landlord Robert Pearce. When confronted about the deposit, we received NO response. Don’t bother renting from such unmoral people.
I have been out here in this neighborhood way before it became oaks crossing. Before the new ownership and new landlord this place was horrible it was bad. But since they came in and renovated these houses put new A/C units new rooofs new countertops stoves and new refrigerator. This place has been very nice to me and my kids . I love it here and this place is probably the only place that you will find 3 bedrooms for a good price. When I have had issues they address them in a timely manner. The only thing that would make me move from here is if I get my own house with land. But other than that I love it here.
I rented a house from Mitchell realty and live there six years .Im now currently living in anther property of Mitchell realty great experience. Justin the property manger made sure everything was ok and worked properly . Justin has always addressed any concerned I have had in a timely manner Thanks for the great service Mitchell realty !
Do not rent front this company. The house they rented out to us was being overrun by mold and they acted with no urgency about it, my roommates and I had to move out because it got so bad, and one of my roommates started to get sick from it.So many people I know who have rented from them have had similar experiences as well. They’re also not very responsive at all— literally one time our house had a big leak and we didn’t hear from them for three days.In my personal opinion: they’re money hungry scumlords, I would suggest renting elsewhere. We were so miserable living at our property
My best friend had to break a lease with them because the house they lived in was over run with mold and literally causing illness. DO NOT rent from them.
Very unprofessional they don’t fix anything crack heads take over the entire complex at oaks crossing cat invested they ac units are old and raggedy literally broke every month I would not recommend anyone move here or use this realty company
I enjoyed renting from Mitchell Realty. Anytime I had an issue, Justin and Davis always assisted me with no problem and did follow-up calls to check up on any of the maintenance requests that I had submitted. Mitchell Realty staff is polite, professional, understanding, and works with you as long as you communicate with the staff what it is youre needing and or wanting to do. I recommend renting from Mitchell Realty.
The company Lawn Worx that does this facilities yardwork comes very early in the morning and disrupts the entire neighborhood. This is a huge nuisance and inconsiderate to the residential homes that surround you.
I lived at one of Mitchell Realtys rental properties for almost 5 years with Justin as the property manager. I found Justin to be responsive to any issues I had and he took care of them without question or hassle. I found the employees of Mitchell Realty to be professional and easy to work with. I would definitely use Mitchell Realty when looking for either a rental property or property to purchase..
I rented an apartment from Mitchell Realty, and it was THE best property manager I have dealt with (and I have dealt with the big guys and individual landlords). They were extremely responsive to phone calls/emails, and they have a fantastic online application that allows you to pay rent/deposits online, see your payment ledger, see your lease and other important information, and enter work orders for repairs or maintenance. The only reason I moved out is because I bought a house, but otherwise I would have rented from them again, and I definitely would recommend them to anyone looking for a rental. Great prices and great service!
The apartments themselves are not bad, and I met Mr. Mitchell in person and he is a kind man. However, the property manager of the complex where I was a tenant is very dishonest. He made living there a very stressful experience for multiple reasons. The appliances in my apartment were very old, which in itself is not a problem, but they would break down frequently. It took Justin, the property manager, six months of me constantly asking for maintenance for him to actually do anything about it. At one point he said he had taken care of it and that my roommate was there to sign off on it, but both myself and my roommate work 9-5 and there is no way that could have been true.I have since moved out, but I havent escaped from the stress Justin is causing me yet! My roommate and I left the apartment cleaner than when we moved in (except for professionally cleaning the carpets), but upon receiving our security deposit back, over $200 dollars had been taken for Touch Up painting, which are supposed to be covered by the landlord unless we really tore the place up (we didnt). And they charged us for the fire extinguisher! When I tried contacting the office about the unfair charges, they totally deflected about the painting charge and then they accused us of stealing the fire extinguisher! Seriously?Save yourself from the stress and dishonesty of the property managers of this realty company. Sorry Mr. Mitchell, you and your family are great but your agents stink.
Do not rent from this company. Do. Not. Plain and simple. They do not take care of any of their properties. I have lived in two properties of theirs, and both of them had a long list of issues. I am unsure if it is because properties pass through their hands frequently or what... but they dont maintain the properties and you really have to harass them to get anything fixed. They always give the shortest notice possible for entering (24hrs). The second place I rented with them, they showed it so many times, there was people coming into my house for months.Poor service and poor maintenance. Avoid dealing with this company if you can at all avoid it.
My experience with Mitchell Realty was very disappointing. I rented a house close to the University of Florida with three other roommates, and I think I can speak for all of them when I say this was the worst rental experience we have encountered. The house was severely damaged before our arrival (holes in doors, paint chipping, trash in the yard, etc.) Mitchell was unorganized and unprofessional. Their employees were disrespectful and seemed annoyed at every encounter. Upon our move out, we were charged for damages we did not commit. I will take some of the blame for this as I should have been thorough during move in day and documented the entirety of the house with its previous damages through videos and pictures. Mitchell provided us with a sheet to fill out where we could label previous damages but I recommend visual evidence. The sheet alone was not substantial enough for us to receive our refund. Beware when renting a house from this company and be prepared to lose your security deposit.
If you are looking for an affordable house close to campus or in a good neighborhood, and you come across an ad for a house that seems to check off all those boxes; Cheap, good location, and enough space for your needs. If it is listed by Mitchell Realty, beware. The problems with Mitchell Realty did not arise until after we moved in. Myself and three other roommates moved in easy enough, however, upon moving in we were not made aware of the impressive cockroach problem. Roach infestations do not occur over night and we were all very disappointed to find big roaches in the kitchen, dishwasher, and living spaces during our first week of living there. Under the guise of not covering pest control, we were left to fix something that should have been taken care of prior to our move in.Although it took us a few months to get the bug problem under control, there are some positive things about Mitchell Realty. They were responsive when we sent multiple work orders in, and the online pay option was very convenient. However, what I noticed was that they were way more helpful when it came to taking our money than they were when it came to returning it. Our time with Mitchell Realty came to an end and I decided to move elsewhere after one year. My roommates and I received the moveout check list to make sure that we would receive all of our security deposit back. We moved out firmly believing that we would be receiving all of our deposit back. A week passed since our move out date and I decided to call and check on our security deposits. I was told by the receptionist/secretary that they had been mailed the past Friday (I had called the Monday after the moveout). I was very happy to hear this, however, this is when the real waiting began. Another week had passed and I decided to call again to see what the situation was. It was at this point, 2 weeks after our move out, that we were told that they had supposedly found a hole that was punched in our wall.Upon calling their office, Justin answered and I was immediately met with an annoyed and standoff-ish tone. I understand that the 2 weeks following move-out are the busiest for some management companies, but am I supposed to apologize for trying to see where my security deposit is after I had already been told it was mailed? After a few minutes of talking, the hole in the wall turned out to be a small dent/chip due to no door stoppers in one of the rooms. Upon asking for an estimation or idea of how long it would be until we will be getting our deposits back, all I got back was that they are legally given a month to return the deposits. Very helpful. Now here I am days from the month deadline, and still without my security deposit.Written August 28th, 2017
