We stayed three nights at a river-side site at this excellent campground and enjoyed it tremendously! The campground sits on a peninsula on the Coosa River, and was originally built in the 50s or 60s. Its under new ownership, and they are going all out to improve the facilities for both short-term and seasonal campers. For example, while most of the sites are really very tightly spaced, they are only booking every other site on the river side pull-in sites -- so you get double the width. This gives you plenty of room to spread out without being too close to your neighbors, so Im hoping they make this feature permanent. The owners are also working to complete a restaurant on the river side and adding tiny homes/cottages for rent. There are very nice pools, trails to walk or bike, a couple of docks to fish from, and youre just minutes from downtown. Plus, for boaters, theres a boat ramp right outside the campground.Roads and sites are gravel and reasonably level and all of the landscaping is very well-maintained. Hookups are OK, though the sewer hookup is near the road was a 25 stretch for our mid-RV sanitation hookups. WiFi had good 25+ MB speed but sketchy signal strength, so streaming wasnt possible. No fire pits, but we had our own portable and they sell firewood at the office/store, so we were good. We were told they go all-out in lighting the many trees for the holidays, something we saw some of while we were there. Personally, Id prefer less lighting to better enjoy the stars, peace and quiet along the river, but thats me.The staff we met were very friendly and helpful -- good folks all around. We really enjoyed going into town, where the city is working to revitalize the downtown area, and checking out the various shops and stores (good beer at Back Forty!). Well definitely be back!

Loved our stay here. It was just me and my husband getting away for the weekend. All of the staff was so nice and helpful. It was quaint and quiet. Good fishing with camping spots right next to the water. Pools were clean and very refreshing. Pets allowed on a leash. Bath houses roomy, convenient and very clean. We will most definitely be back.

Nice clean camping. We rented a Tiny Home with the comforts of home. Small, narrow camper spots. 3 Nice clean pools, live entertainment on Saturday night. I could do without the road noise of the highways and interstate but the convenience of shopping and restaurants off set. Friendly people and lots of young kids enjoying the pools and facilities. Water, septic, and cable hookups.

Nice campground close to downtown Gadsten.3 great pools to sit at, one is an infinity pool, and one is more of a kiddie pool, the kids pool has a splash area for the little kids. There is a great gravel walking trail around the peninsula, and a lot of dog areas. We are really enjoying our time here and enjoying the great views of the river.

The staff was some of the nicest and friendly I have ran across. River rocks has done some very needed repair plus excellent additions. The only negative I have is some of the full time residents campsite are not orderly and the outside housekeeping is terrible. The fulltime residents should have a higher standard. But I highly recommend this campground

Fantastic, friendly campground and now our favourite in the area. Sites are level and the pull through we had was easy in/out. Pools are fantastic and it’s nice being right on the river as well. Some good spots to eat and hang out at are only a few minutes away. We stayed here for only three days but plan to be back for a longer stay.

One of the best campgrounds in the area. Lots to do for kids and plenty of things on the weekends to keep everyone busy. The park is clean, well maintained, and quiet at night. I stayed on the bay side in a 30 travel trailer with no slides and the spaces were pretty tight but still a great view. I plan on coming back and hope to try a pull through or river side spot. Easy drive for me coming from Birmingham for a quick weekend stay with my kids. Looking forward to staying again!

We were in the older part of the campground. The site was small, luckily we didnt have anyone beside us. The park was nice, the bathhouses were clean. The staff were extremely nice and helpful. Aside from the small spots the pool closed at 8pm and the live music with the drunks hooping and hollering 30 minutes past quiet time were the biggest negatives for me. I would probably camp there again.

The whole property was a pleasure to spend time in and the other campers and residents were very charming and friendly. There is a wooded area with swings and fire pits and the property is right along the river where we did some fishing. If we are in Gadsden in the future, we will plan to stay at this location again!- The Robertson’sSWFL

The staff and surroundings of River Rocks Landing are unlike any other RV Park or Campground Ive been to. They have EVERYTHING. It literally feels like a slice of Americana and youre out of a scene from The Sandlot or something. From the storm shelter to keep loved ones safe, to the infinity pool, to the beautiful lodge to interact with other guests and staff, it was Top Notch from Check-in to Check-out. Martha and her husband Terry were SO incredibly helpful, they make you feel like family from the moment you walk in the door. We even had some RV troubles and Terry gave up his own time to help us out and make sure we were back up and running. Dont even waste time looking anywhere else near the area. This is your home away from home!

What a gorgeous campground. We stopped in for a quick overnight. Campground was clean, spots were average size, small picnic table.. As soon as we set up rv we went for a walk. Campground was surrounded by the river. Had a nice hiking trail around the edge of the river with ducks and birds and landscaping that was worth the walk. Mature weeping willows, banana leaf trees, flowers and adorable tiny home cabins. There was even a dock with a few Adirondack chairs to watch the sun set. It was too cold but infinity pool looked amazing. I will definitely return if passing through again.

Carson, I read a lot of your responses to reviews. I am making reference to Billy who wanted to drive through before booking. You said you dont allow people to drive through for safety reasons that is your policy. We stayed there recently and you were letting the public drive through for a price to look at the decorations. Well they looked at our camper so where are my proceeds from the profits. No you have no policy but greed for the almighty dollar. I guess you get to explain that when you meet Saint Peter in heaven.

We chose to stay here on our way to Mississippi. Before we got there, one of the staff members called to check on us as it was getting late. This call was out of genuine concern. When we got there, the staff went above and beyond for us. The escorted us to our site & answered all of our questions. Our dog locked itself in the vehicle with the keys and the staff here was gracious enough to give me a gate key to let the locksmith in & they refused to let me pay for it. You are in very close proximity to shops & restaurants, but you feel like youre secluded by the river. I highly suggest this campground.

Playground, two pools with one being an infinity pool, and a walking path along the shore the goes around the entire outer edge of the park. The is public restrooms and laundry facilities. Well maintained landscaping and thousands (literally) of Christmas lights. Speaking of Christmas lights they are strong in, on and between every there in the park. This is a great place for the fishermen. Free public boat launch just outside the park. Literally, a few hundred feet from the gates.A great place for kids, plus a restful place for Mom & Dad.

Recommended. Things to know:- Amazing river views (can book up quickly during holidays/weekends)- Very nice walking path along river with benches and lights. Beautiful sunsets.- Depending on season and time may hear a fair amount of fishing boats speeding by in the mornings at dawn (louder if youre on the East side by the river bank...its a public river so no way to silence boat traffic)- Big rig friendly (no issues with 44 fifth wheel)- Very friendly staff...very accommodating and helpful- Curbside trash pickup daily- 3x pools, so theres something for all ages. The infinity pool is HUGE.- Splash pad is great for kids (high pressure on some of the jets, so watch out for the younger ones)- You can fish right off one of their docks or at your campsite along river. Saw many catch decent sized fish. Just need AL fishing license.- Campground is secured with gate and proximity card issued to guests with $10 deposit (returnable at end of stay)- Although sites are snug, the river views make up for it. Room for a guest car or tow vehicle usually across an aisle or within campsite.- Utilities were fine. Ample water pressure, solid 50A power. Did not try cable TV, but was present.- There are some long term residents at various sites and they seem friendly.- Booking seemed best over the phone. Note on my visit they didnt book a specific site, but rather assigned day of arrival. I tried to check in early to get a riverfront site and got the last one on a busy holiday weekend checking in around 2pm.- Staff will help you find your site and direct you to get backed in and settled.- Plenty of restaurants and attractions near by.

We absolutely love this place. The people are kind and the customer service is superb. Our reservation was made last weekend for this past Friday. About 2 hours until closing time (1 hour after wed precisely said we were leaving and did) the lady called to check on us to make sure everyone was OK and that everything was going OK. Now, she may have been calling to make sure we were still keeping our reservations but the carry out was second to absolutely none. Masks were required to enter the office and gift shop. They kept with it, too, as was the mandate but also the integrity of this business. This was our experience.Once we got their, we noticed there was side of the street parking for RVs waiting to enter the site. It wasnt just because they were waiting in line. It was because there was an escort cart leading you to your reserved spot. The guys were so helpful and kind. Not only did they lead us to our spot but the man helped us park and hooked up all of our lines. (Who else does that?!) Also, upon check-in, you are given and rfid card for entrance should you need or choose to leave the premises.Starting here comes with lots of amenities that come with your reservation and stay. They are:Free cableFree internet (shared network with a password, of course and 2 servers)=>3 clean, very well kept, swimming pools. (1 is a lap pool and 2 are kids pools that start at 6 inches and max depth at 2 feet.)Splash and sprinkler pad for the young at heart with a sunning area just to catch some extra rays.Access to fishing and boat docksSmall, little church (that actually holds Sunday services)Restaurant with serviceEquipment to rent for all your water fun needs including Pontoon boat rentalTiny houses for lease or purchaseAnd more. The view is amazing and we were able to fish for several hours until the sun went down. There are swings along the trail that follows around the water. They face the water and are made for people of all ages and size. The atmosphere is phenomenal and relaxing. The property is well maintained. I recommend this spot to anyone, couple, or family. It was a treasure to find.

We will not return. Checking in, the front desk person, (who I believe was Michele) was very rude, and matter of fact. From what we gathered, she cares more about her awful attitude, and showing people who’s boss so much more than customer service. This is our second visit to this campground, and nothing has changed. Michele is as rude now as she was two years ago. We hoped the owner had come to her senses and gotten rid of her. Michele is not an asset to this campground, and will cost the new owners a lot of business. On a lighter note, Our check out on Sunday was Wonderful. So we will give this review two stars. We do not recommend this campground.

River Country Campground is a clean, quiet, beautiful place to spend a holiday, a weekend or even longer. Entrance is through an electronic gate accessed by use of a key card (with a returnable $10 deposit per card) which is issued upon check-in. The grounds are well manicured and crews work every day to maintain the roads and wooded areas. In addition, employees regularly ride around the park checking vehicles and sites to verify authorized access. There are no refuse containers in the park but garbage bags are regularly picked up during daylight hours by park employees and taken to a dumpster just outside the park gate. This is an excellent RV Park and an enjoyable place to stay.

The weekends fill up with locals so if you are coming on a weekend you need to call them. If we are near here again we will be staying here.
