Before I undertake any home improvement project, I conduct a “beauty contest” by soliciting estimates from a number of companies. So, I did my usual “thing” when I decided to replace all of the carpet in my home – 5 rooms, 3 closets (including a large Master closet) and a staircase – with hardwood flooring.The winner of the contest was Kimi’s Carpets Plus, Inc. Their pricing was competitive and, most importantly, they were amenable to doing the staircase exactly as I wanted it done. They did what other contestants said could not be done—installed stair treads made of the same hardwood as that on the floors, added nosing that’s flush with the tread! They also moved my furniture for a nominal fee and without damaging anything. Finally, the crew was experienced, courteous AND THEY CLEANED during and after the job was completed. Cleaning consisted of wiping down walls and woodwork, dusting and vacuuming, cleaning the glass in the storm door, etc.I am over the moon DELIGHTED with my new floors! I highly recommend Kimi’s Carpets Plus, Inc.

Very bizarre interaction. We contacted this company for a relatively small, straightforward job involving a continuation of engineered flooring from our kitchen/dining area into our living area. A young lady came out to assess the job and all was fine. Her and my wife had a discussion, my wife gave her the SKU for the flooring, Googled a few locations having inventory, and she was off to put together a quote.This is where things got a little weird…I received a text message 24-48 hours stating “after extensive research, they were unable to locate our particular flooring…”, thus could not handle our project. Again, this is after we showed them multiple sites having availability. The kicker: we were told they found something similar in style, but it would not match! Why would we opt to install flooring that doesn’t match? Whole situation was weird.If you didn’t want the job - just say it. No need to make up a ridiculous story.Finally, this review is not reflective of their actual work. Only the customer service and communication. It appears all of the reviews are skewed between 1 stars and 5 stars; either love or hate this company.

The Flooring & Carpet they did for us came out. I would definitely recommend Kimi’s Carpets for your flooring needs.

If you dont use Kimis youre doing yourself a disservice. These were some of the nicest, most humble people Ive ever met, and one of the best experiences Ive ever had with someone working on my home.I have zero complaints. The price was unbeatable by anyone in the area, and the quality of work is outstanding. They are extremely committed to customer service - while working on my home, they suffered a catastrophic loss to one of their vehicles (electrical fire) and they lost NO TIME in completing my floors on time. If this isnt a reason to choose Kimis, I dont know what is.I will choose Kimis 100% of the time and recommend them 100% of the time to everyone I know. Id give 6/5 stars if I could.

Walked in to inquire about buying hardwoods and when the person working there came to acknowledge us, she did so without a mask on. We immediately left. They just lost at least a $3000.00 sale.The response below is BS! We past a young woman coming in with coffees in hand as we were leaving. She had a mask on. The associate who was not wearing a mask was in the showroom assisting a customer. There wasn’t even a mask pulled down but still on her face. There wasn’t even a mask in her hand. She was not coming out of a bathroom.

*Update March 2019*1) Rather than provide good service, Kimis lawyer threatened to sue if I dont remove my review.2) When her lawsuit threat didn’t work, she went to a Judge (without me/my lawyer present), claimed my reviews were tantamount to “stalking,” to try and get a temporary order. Fortunately we were ultimately able to get this dismissed due as theres obviously no evidence.3) After just a few weeks of normal use the stairs started falling apart and became unsafe.4) Weve paid $11k+ to have the unsafe & amateurish-looking stairs redone from scratch, and to complete the work in the family room that they weren’t able to complete.5) To date, we’ve had no apology or even acknowledgement from the owner for the rude behavior of her husband, that they aren’t able to finish the contracted work they took a deposit for, that she tried to trick us into paying for work not completed, or interest in discussing their mistakes.6) Every single one of our houseguests complained about the stairs they installed, saying they were unattractive and unsafe. One even refused to use them after going up/down the first time due to safety concerns.7) The owner has abused her role as admin of the Ladies of Fuquay FB group and blocked my wife in retribution for the negative review.**TL;DR This company overpromises and underdelivers, has a pattern of lies and deceptive behavior, and accepts payment for work they’re unable to complete. The owner is rude, unprofessional, and has a temper with both his employees and customers. The project was delayed at the last minute by 2 weeks. They refuse to even acknowledge their mistakes, and tried to trick us into paying for the work theyre unable to complete. Don’t make the same mistake as us by hiring this company.We hired this company to install vinyl floors in our house for $12k+. It started off poorly; they called us the day before starting to say that the material hasn’t arrived yet, and that their start date would be delayed 2 weeks. This was an issue as we scheduled our entire busy December & an already paid for vacation, around the install dates they’d given us. This also meant they’d be installing right before Christmas, with guests staying with us, causing more disruption. We let it go w/o saying anything, and just worked around their new schedule. It isn’t so much that there was a delay (someone forget to order the materials?) but that they didn’t bother telling us until the last moment.During the 5 day install, the owner was constantly yelling at his employees, making things uncomfortable for our family & visitors.Only after we paid a 50% deposit & they did much of the job, the owner said he couldn’t do part of the contracted work. I tried to discuss options, but he stormed out of the house cursing at us. My wife, our visiting houseguests, and I were left standing there in shock at his behavior.Their office called and said they weren’t sure if it could be done. None of this was mentioned to us from the start, or when they accepted the deposit, or when they started the work.Another contractor who also installs flooring and was there earlier during the project, made numerous remarks about workmanship quality issues; gaps, damaged trim, no pad, etc. Since the owner stormed out in a tantrum, I didn’t have a chance to bring them up.What gets me is we bought the flooring they suggested. If that flooring wasn’t good for stairs or the family room, they should have suggested something else.Next day,Kimi insisted the work was finished & we need to pay the remaining amount ASAP. It blows my mind how she could possibly insist we pay for work they aren’t able to complete. I told her that we’d be happy to pay for the work that was completed and for the materials that were used. Eventually they sent a new invoice, but to date she has neither acknowledged nor apologized for their mistakes, stating that the work was done during the agreed timeframe (it wasn’t), that it was complete (it wasn’t), and that her husband cursed at me in my home in front of my wife & houseguests.

Reposting and editing somewhat in hopes that they dont post my personal email information on here again...Installers were unprofessional and said they didnt have masks when we asked them to wear one. They also left all tacks sticking up and I had to do the work myself to keep my family from destroying their feet. When I emailed about it I was told if you take the head of a hammer and rub it over the carpet(with force), that should force the pins to go down. They did also say they would send someone out if I had trouble doing it but in all honesty - isnt that part of what I paid for? Just seemed rude and not the type of service I expect when putting out several hundred in cash!

Kimi was recommended to me by my real estate agent, so I had no other recommendations or experience, beforehand. Now I want to recommend Kimis Carpets Plus to everyone who is looking for ANY type of flooring. Her team did a fabulous job on my luxury vinyl and carpeted steps. I had HIDEOUS carpet upstairs when I purchased my townhome and they removed it, gave me a great price, and found ways to cut some costs that I really appreciated, after spending most of my $$ on the home purchase. Also, the team was fast and did a great installation and were courteous and efficient. Kimi and her team were also great about communicating. I would use her services again in an instant and highly recommend!

When decided to get my floors, I got three quotes. Two of the companies were contractors who quoted me $1500 HIGHER than the quote from Kimi. When she came to my house - after work to accommodate me - it was like a family member had walked into my home and she immediately set me at ease. She gave me all of my options and did not pressure me in the least. I knew when she left that I would be calling her again. I did additional research, and called her the next day. My floors were installed in 2 days...finished on 12/23/14 (!!) and she kept me up to date with all that was going on while they were working. I have been more than pleased with the results. The workmanship was excellent - when they left you could not tell they had been there at all! There were no hidden costs and everything was just as she said it would be! I will use them to replace my upstairs carpet later this spring!If you are considering new flooring, give them a call. They are professional and genuinely great people! And my floors are beautiful!!

So my dog messed all over my floors right and I absolutely couldnt get the smell out like, it just REEKED in my house after that. So I go to Kimis carpets plus and they tell me about this awesome thing called WATERPROOF BACKING. Great company, great people. A granite installer had not shut off water properly in a house I was selling & it flooded, ruining the existing floors. I experienced fantastic service from the moment I first called Kimis. They responded very quickly & provided me with an immediate, very competitive quote. They understood I had a deadline to meet for an open home and worked very hard to complete the job in time - going beyond what I believe many companies might have by working late and making sure they fulfilled their promise. They were friendly, responsive and the workmanship was flawless.

Kimis Carpet installed Armstrong tiles in our kitchen, breakfast nook, hallway, and powder room. Not only was the estimate a super deal compared to another outfit selling identical flooring, it was very professionally installed with attention to detail such as centering the tiles in the hallway, perfectly level tiling with even spacing, clean cuts under door moldings, and cleanly grouted. It has completely renewed and brightened our downstairs. This is a family run business - friendly, professional, and take pride in doing it right.

I was looking for a local business to purchase carpet from and install it into a rental unit we own. I wanted to make sure I had someone I could talk to if anything went wrong as it often does with home improvement. I was referred to some places by friends and got several quotes. Mike and Kimi where extremely helpful and accommodating. They showed me a few options in the price range I was searching. After choosing one they called me back when a different brand went on sale and was a better deal. The installation was timely (I was in a hurry) and the job was first class. I found no flaws even though I was looking in lower price ranges and rushed the job. I received follow up calls after to ensure I was satisfied, and only then was my final payment taken. Kimis Carpets Plus is an amazing company! Just the other day my dog tore up a massive amount of carpet and padding right by my bedroom door. It was everywhere and the carpet was completely destroyed. Kimis soon came to the rescue. Within 2 days they were able to provide me with the carpet I needed, come out and repair it, and even made it look like nothing had ever happened. I was having a christmas party and they were able to get this done by my deadline even in the craziness of the holiday season! Kimis Carpets Plus has been great to work with! They have done three projects for me, one at my office and two at home. For each project, the owners themselves came out and did a free estimate in which they measured the space and spent lots of time talking with me about the multiple flooring options (I went with LVP and carpet). On two of the projects, one of the owners was actually the one doing the install! The projects were all done in a timely manner and they left the job sites clean. I truly believe that you will not be able to find a flooring company that cares more about your satisfaction than Kimis Carpets. Thank you for making my office and home beautiful!

I had a very small job, just some carpet stretching and re-seaming. Some business give small jobs a low priority, but Kimis treated me like a customer. Chris (the general sales manager) was responsive and courteous and Mike (owner/installer) did a great job paying attention to detail. I would definitely recommend them.

Remodeling a house I just bought and the only thing I do not do is carpets (8 years in residential construction). Called them to do a simple repair that cost me 200$. Long story short they cut away to much carpet and flubbed the repair. Told me they would come back and make the fix and took payment. Scheduled a week ahead for them to come, they did not show and they did not call to let me know this. Called and they apologized and said they would come out the following week. Did not show. After I called for the third time, they said there was no way to actually fix it other than put a threshold over the repair which is why I called them in the first place because I thought professional carpet layers could handle a simple repair. DO NOT USE THESE PEOPLE FOR REPAIR WORK.

I am blown away by the professionalism and efficiency of Kimis! Not only did they go above and beyond to make sure that my floors were taken care of, they also called a week later to check in, and make sure I was still enjoying my purchase! Forget the big companies! I will always stick locally with Kimis!!

Their prices were competitive and their selections were fantastic. They even worked with me to get me the flooring we wanted within our budget. They came out to install, and they were seamless! Mike & his father installed the floors professionally and beautifully. There was a minor issue with the transitions, and they came back right away and fixed it!Three months later our upstairs flooded and we had to pull up all of our flooring on the main level. I was a wreck. Kimi helped me work with the insurance company and probably heard me crying no less than once a day for two weeks. She was incredibly professional and worked her butt off to help me get the insurance company to cover the flooring that had been damage. She came highly recommended to me by a friend, and she/they did not disappoint. I regularly get asked who did your floors? And I never hesitate to tell them my story and all about Kimi & Mike (who by the way are local).

Sorry sorry sorry, no professionalism. wonderful until something is not right with the job done. It took from Nov to Mar to get my tile flooring corrected. Many calls gone unanswered, poor service even with their on tile rep who came out to evaluate. our home security system wiring cut during the process of putting down tile, denial from Kim and husband. Finally sent a subcontractors to redo floor, never called to see if we were pleased, never address cutting security wire, matter-of-fact never called again. So we are stuck with a bill replacing parts of our security system. So dont be fooled by that kind face. good riddance.

Im not sure where all the glowing reviews come from. We purchased a remnant one day and made several attempts to call about picking it up... never got an answer on the phone. Stopped by, but had to come back again later because the right person wasnt there. Was given the incorrect remnant, completely wrong size... the employee paced out the dimensions rather than actually measuring it... but this error wasnt discovered until we took it to the binder ( the employees had no name or address, just vague directions on how to get there). Everyone we dealt with at this business was unprofessional. Luckily the binding guy at the other business is giving us credit for what we paid for the useless scrap we were given from Kimis toward the purchase of a carpet through him. Not doing business with this company again.

Kimi and her team was great to work with from start to finish. They helped my wife with a proper carpet and color selection and gave several recommendations as well as larger samples to see what colors would best work in our house. We set an install date for 3 weeks out, it was their first available time. They showed up on the date of the scheduled install. We had done quite a bit of cleaning and did our best to get everything out of the installers way, clothing, toys, small furniture and books, etc. This allowed them to do our entire 4 bedroom project within one day. Which was a great surprise to us! It was originally scheduled to be a 2 day project. Thank you Kimi!

BUYER BEWARE!!! I would NOT recommend this company. Back in March 2018, I had them to come out to measure for carpet (pre-construction) with no walls, three months later I asked them to measure again-now that walls are present. They refused my request to verify if the measurements differed. I believe they did. Furthermore, written on my two carpet quotes (then and now) was to pay by cash or check; where as they have a current advertisement on ALL Harris-Teeter shopping carts (in Fuquay) saying they offer a 12 month -interest free finance option. I wasnt given this option or was it communicated to me that financing was an option. Something is VERY suspicious with this company OR was it that I was profiled? I told them to forget it, I wouldnt be using them for my new carpet. I dont do business with ppl, I dont trust. I told them I am going to use ALL social mediums to warn others to beware, and to tell them to get several other quotes before choosing Kimis Carpet. I am also going to contact HGTV to share my experience and for them to review whether or not Kimis Carpet Plus can continue to promote a relationship with HGTV.

Kimi and her husband Mike have literally saved us time and time again! Our pup chewed up not 1, but 2 carpets in our home within 2 weeks of each other! After 2 other estimates, and being told both carpets could not be saved, and needed replacing, I called Kimi! Mike came out the next day and replaced only the square that was chewed and saved both Carpets! You cant even tell, they both look brand new! He was so personable and honest about what needed to be done. He was super quick, and extremely pleasant to work with! This Christmas our in-laws decided to come for a week, and told us last minute. Our stairs needed new carpet badly, and Mike worked late into the evening to get it replaced before they arrived. To top it all off... Kimi personally came over the day after my kids moved out with her cleaner and helped me shampoo the rugs because I was injured, and she knew the machine would be tough for me to maneuver. These local busines Owners go above and beyond for their clients, who quickly become their friends! We will never shop anywhere else for carpets in the future! Theyve got our business, and friendship for life!

We moved from our house in Cary to Fuquay-Varina in order to sellthe house in Cary. The house in Cary needed new carpet and LVP floorsin the kitchen and bathrooms. Got quotes from several vendors to include Kimis. JJ was the salesperson. Had 1 or 2 less expensive quotes, but those vendors seemed to want to push low quality. JJ gave me a very fair quote. I wanted to remove the old flooring before painting and install new after painting, which they did. For both removal and installation, they seemed to have plenty of help, and both jobs were done quickly. I was very happy with the work and I believe the new flooring helped the house sell well. Since I lived in F-V at the time, I would stop in occasionally to their shop to ask questions. Everyone I spoke with seemed very customer focused and knowledgable. I high recommend Kimis carpet plus.

I have had bad experiences in the past with having new flooring in my house, so I was concerned about finding the right flooring store. I have to say I was completely impressed with the job Kimis Carpet Plus did for me. Not only was it the best flooring job I ever had but the price was great also. The experience with Kimi and her company was great from start to finish. I was very unsure with what type of flooring I needed or wanted. After my first meeting with her was in our home. We were impressed by her knowledge of all the different types of flooring and decided to choose carpet for our 2nd floor and Vinyl Planks for our Kitchen and baths.The entire process was easy. They worked with my schedule because I am a local business owner and have very limited time. I really can not say enough about them. Kimi and Mike were professional and courteous. I just want to thank them for all their hard work.

We used kimis carpets plus to install the carpet in our new home. We had a closing date and needed the flooring in place before we moved in. They were willing to work around our realtors schedule to get into the home to do a measurement. We met them in their office in Fuquay Varina and were amazed at how quick and easy the process was. We chose a carpet and pad and the day after our closing they started installing the carpet into our home. We were so pleased with the experience that we had them install carpet in the home we were selling. They were great to work with and communicated time and scheduling. I could not be happier with them. They did a great job!

Need to add an unfortunate second post since the company has now caused us to lose time by being unresponsive and making promises they havent kept, although they did a good job for us last year. Reached out several times via email and phone requesting quote on another job. After three weeks Kimi finally visited the property, promising a quote by end of day. 2 weeks later and several emails/calls to the company she finally advised that she had mistakenly shredded the quote. She set up appt to come out again. After scheduling my day around 2nd visit, on morning of 2nd appt they called to say they had miraculously found the measurements so would not need to meet at the house. They promised to have quote to us by end of day. A week later and nothing. They have unfortunately lost any future business with us in our numerous rental units and personal home.

Poor quality work. Stairs they’ve installed are unsafe

So you guys claim to have the best customer service in the industry, well heres one for ya. I went into the fuquay varina store 1 week ago on a tuesday to inquire about some carpet for my man room. The lady working was very nice and said i can get carpet within a few days,( I was even going to pick it up and install it myself) she informed me that if I didnt mind seconds or imperfect carpet I could get a better grade of carpet for less money since it was going in my garage. I said that would be great i just needed it within a week, she took my phone number and name( Ed Disena ) and said it takes 20 or 30 minutes and she would call me with available carpets. I left the store and never got called back that day which was the whole day for I was there in the morning. So the next morning I called thinking maybe she lost my number and got there answering machine. I left a message with my name and number again and reminded them who I was. THEY NEVER EVEN CALLED ME BACK. A week later on monday I went back to the store and someone else was working in which I told her what happened and I was a little upset but thought I would give them a second chance. She informed me that the lady who was helping me wasnt there and would be back within the hour and she would give her my message and name and number again and have her call me ASAP. All day went by as well as all day today and STILL NO CALL BACK. I have never seen customer service like this before and hope I dont again. I went to another flooring store on south saunders street and walked out with my carpet in my truck within 45 minutes thats customer service. As for Kimis carpets I would not bye a door mat from you guys after this ordeal. I tried to call them again today to speak with the owner Michael Quinn or the sales mgr Chris I think is his name and got the same answering service, both calls were made around noon and nobody ever even answers the phone. This Is the first bad review I have ever written about anybody and hopefully the last.
