What a terrible terrible place! I brought my 9 year old grandson to the Fuquay-Varina office for help and first was fine but we were having issue and have made numerous attempts including going in person to address theses issues and was told that they didnt have time for me to quickly let his doctor know how the medication is affecting my grandson. Also have made several calls to speak with doctor but he never calls back.
So I had called this place trying to get a therapist for an issue that I have and the receptionist was so nice the guy that I dealt with and date of the appointment a different lady had called me said she was with them and that was all checked in and the doctor would be with me shortly and then hung up the phone didn’t give me a link no information or nothing for a Telehealth visit and no missed calls no calls at all
I didn’t like this Fuquay office. He didn’t take any time with me, in and out in just 5 minutes. I was there 15 minutes before the appointment. When I first came in, the receptionist was on the phone, waited a minute or two, but it was alright because she was talking to a patient. The wait was not that long, but was past the 10:15 appointment. The thing is that he didn’t spend much time with me, just around 5 min. I may not go back.
Im surprised to see all the bad reviews. I had a great experience with my 8 year old for her anxiety therapy. Justin Strickland is fantastic and helped get my daughters anxiety and ADD meds just right. He also got my anxiety and depression meds right as well. Hes been fantastic.
When I first became a patient at Best Day a little over 2 years ago, I wasn’t overwhelmingly impressed but not to much of an issue. Over the past two years I switched from the Raleigh office to the Fuquay office. The providers there were mediocre at best and often I had to call the receptionist to get stuff resent because it wasn’t sent right the first time. The front office staff I spoke with, Amber and Samantha, I think, were always pleasant and helpful. There were multiple times I could here management belittling staff and just being down right rude. I am honestly very disappointed and will no longer be giving this practice any of my time or money.
Love Michael Jacobs of the Fuquay office. He has made me feel through medication the best I have felt in a very long time! He really does seem to care about your feelings and making you feel the best that you can! I am happy I found him! -- I also have found AMBER the referral coordinator and front desk person has always been very professional, efficient, caring and always a pleasure to speak with. I am very comfortable with all the car I have received here!!!
The rudest receptionist I have ever dealt with at any establishment. They are dealing with patients who struggle with mental health and they’re treating them like garbage. I love my provider, he’s incredible and been so helpful but the receptionist is reason enough for me to want to leave. I have never felt so belittled. This is an every call occurrence. Today I was even hung up on.
I had ONE awful appointment here a few years ago. I paid my $300 bill (for a 15 min “convo”) and yet I continue to receive the same bill in the mail years later. They never answer my calls.
This is the worst place ever!! Run from it if you can! Take your business elsewhere! All the other reviews listed here are very accurate about everything. People are needing to be seen because they need help to begin with, and their staff is just super rude! Just to schedule my child an appointment, the lady was super rude! I for sure will not be taking my kid here ever again! If I could be given a choice of giving them a 0 stars that’s what I would of given!
Horrible experience! Didn’t even get to make an appointment because the receptionist was beyond rude! People with mental disorders definitely don’t need to deal with people who are just blatantly disrespectful!!
I am a difficult case, i am often hospitalized, my meds have been changed too many times to count, BUT!! Today I feel great i take many pills and happy for them. Justin Strickland is my current PA, I manage my own therapy, I study myself, keep a journal, be a master of my own psychology. Anyways, do not give up, make a choice to be happy.
Best Day Psychiatry has been very unprofessional. My son has been a patient there for about a year now. The patient care is poor and unprofessional. The appointments last maybe 5 minutes at best and the patient and the family members are treated poorly during the visit. In addition to poor patient care the front staff is very unkind to the patients. They treat them as if they are not important and their need for medication refills and request for records goes unanswered even when the request has been submitted in writing. That is a violation of the NC Patient Right Laws. When the patient has a request or a need to speak to someone they must leave a message and wait for a return call. Then the front staff speaking to them talks to them in a way that provokes the patient. These are patients who need to be spoken to in a kind and professional way. I would not recommend this practice.
Ms. Hammonds is a total fraud of a therapist! IMO
No stars are warranted. My experience with this practice has been awful. The front desk staff are rude, unprofessional and Dr. Matlack allows this behavior. They are snarky, incompetent, ignore calls, hang up on people, or transfer the call when they just dont feel like working. Its a shame because there was a time when this practice was a benefit to the Fuquay Varina community. The good NPs etc. always leave this place. I would.
The front desk staff and office manager are very condescending, unprofessional and absolutely horrifying at scheduling appointments. I wish I would have checked the reviews before scheduling here. The office manager does not return calls and the front desk rep is completely rude. I believe their names are Amber and Wendy. However, Michelle Gilmore, FNP has been absolutely amazing and a breathe of fresh air. If it werent for her, I would take my business elsewhere.
Believe the reviews. Ive given this office multiple chances to correct their issues, from waiting an hour past my sons appointment time to be seen on multiple occasions, to their latest trick, ignoring every attempt to contact them to get my sons medication fixed. They either ignore the phone call, or hang up on you when you finally do get them on the line. And if you do actually manage get ahold of them, they do not follow through at all with what you ask from them. We will be looking for a new office that can actually provide some customer service to their patients.
Staff is very friendly and helpful. Making an appointment was very easy and they’ve walked through every step of the way with me in regards to my child’s care. I’m very glad that I ignored the poor reviews and went to see for myself. It’s refreshing when you find a care provider that genuinely cares. Josh is GREAT with kids!
YOU CAN FILE A HIPAA VIOLATION AGAINST THIS PRACTICE FOR NOT SENDING YOU YOUR MEDICAL RECORDS WITHIN 30 DAYS. THIS IS A HIPAA VIOLATION.This place went downhill after Elizabeth (?) left (the young girl with dark red hair). She was knew her stuff, was very efficient, professional and was incredibly nice. What happened to her? I havent seen her in a long time. Used to see her up front at the Fuquay location. The current front desk is very rude and always seem reluctant to help. Theyre not a good face for the Fuquay practice. They should be replaced.Ever since she left, what I was being billed for became unclear. ALthough separate, I would get what I thought was improperly coded (CPT code) so they could extract more money from my insurance (and me). For example, unless I understand coding wrong, I saw a provider for 5 minutes but I would get coded for a 20-30 min appointment so Id get charged more.I liked Dr. Matlack for the few times I saw him for appointments (no complaints towards his care, hes great). A few of the midlevels he hired seemed alright however, a few were horrendous (eg: wanting me to take amphetamines and methyphenates at the SAME time). Overall, I am not a fan of the hiring of an army of midlevel providers in leu of physicians. Sure it increases revenue for the practice but it comes at the quality of care. Most midlevels from my experience do not know what they are doing and most patients dont know enough to know that theyre getting improper care. They mistake niceness, for quality. The ratio of Physician to midlevels is disproportionate in my opinion at these practices. This unfortunately seems to be the direction of medicine however (not limited to this practice), the production of under-trained providers (midlevels) to address a healthcare shortage and for the increase profits of corporate medicine (midlevels are cheaper to hire than Physicians).
Very friendly and helpful staff. Drs and therapist very professional and thorough. Care available for all ages, family friendly. Wait time was very short. Overall extremely pleased with the services provided for myself and family.
Well, all other reviews said it all. It’s nearly impossible to get a medication refill, and your pharmacy can never get in touch with your doctor, even after countless voicemails and calls, from me and the pharmacy. It’s been 3 months, and I’ve been surviving off emergency refills (provided by the PHARMACY) alone.I’ve been coming here for 11 years, and I have not had these experiences up until recently, once they changed the staff, the doctors and moved the place and changed the name, it’s not even the same place anymore. So you might as well turn around now and save your money!I really hate to talk like this about a company, but Mental health is VERY important! This is a very big deal. And it needs to be taken seriously. Before you make a horrible mistake, think twice on this one.
All the negative reviews say it all.I should have left this practice a long time ago. As soon as all the good practitioners started leaving, everything about this practice went downhill. I’ve had my appointments switched last minute when I needed to come back for medication follow up and allowed to run out of medications and suffer sever reactions.Neither the “doctor” or office staff care. More excuses than answers.I switched practices 3 months ago, and these guys STILL have not sent over my paperwork to my new doctor. I personally went into the office and signed a disclosure agreement to have my documents sent in February, was promised my paperwork would be sent over at weeks end. May 4th and my new doctor hasn’t received everything. Found out they faxed my paperwork to themselves once, flat out ignored requests the other times, and push my requests off on another person in some other office. All of this began a month BEFORE this whole quarantine debacle. They have been trying to use the quarantine as a reason paperwork hasn’t been sent.Unprofessional, and genuinely careless. All around, a horrible experience. Save yourself the trouble, find another practice.
We have been coming there for 6+ months and are always told to call in for my daughters prescriptions. NEVER had to call the refill line. After being on hold for 10 minutes today I was told by the receptionist that I had to be put through to the refill line to PICK up a paper script for my daughters meds. Seems like the customer service is going way down hill. They were not at all willing to even ask who it was or what she needed even though I explained how it has been in the past. The service is very slow and it is likely that she will now be without her medication for a few days. Not very happy at all! Guess it may be time to look for a new dr! They had always been very accommodating and I thought the negative reviews were a bit harsh! Obviously not! Lets see just how long it takes!
I’d give 0 if I could. Been dealing with them for 2 years and NO MORE!! They cancelled a crucial appointment for me over $5. FIVE DOLLARS. I called and offered to pay for it after my appointment which I’ve been doing for almost as long as I’ve gone there and they’re going to treat me like I don’t pay (I’m doing video appts because of corona for now). The manger was RUDE. The psychiatrists are so quick to get you off the phone/out of their office when you just paid money for that very reason, to talk with them. They wouldn’t even let me leave a note for my psychiatrist, I had to make THREE appts in one week and pay 3 separate copay charges just to tell my psychiatrist one small thing. It’s all ridiculous and they just take take and take money from you. Any time I call the office to make an appt I sit on hold for forever or most times now, I hold for as long as it will let me and then it sends me to their automated machine. I’ve been having to call the Raleigh office just to be able to make an appt at the Fuquay office because it’s my only way to get ahold of someone at that office. The Fuquay office is just terrible all around. I do not recommend them at all. Steer clear!!! Try the Raleigh location
I’ve been coming here for almost 4 years now, and after this week I’m finding somewhere else to go. This place is great at neglecting their patients, but not much else. Find another place, this one will just make you worse. It’s all gone so downhill.
The front staff are always friendly and helpful. Both Travina and Krystal Williams have been very helpful and caring. They have done great dealing with both an adult and child.
I genuinely love krystal williams (a therapist there) the wait time for appointments and sometimes at most 10 minutes but usually on time, my only complaints are the two woman at the front desk, i really dislike them and it would be amazing to see them replaced since their customer service is absoloute garbage, and my other complaint, the other people in the reviews, is medication refills. i havent had a problem up until my last appointment 2 days ago, when i was told to use the phone line to refill and put on hold for a while, and that it takes like quite a while to get the refil, so i have to request a few days before it actually runs out. besides those two drawbacks, its worth it to work with krystal, she has helped me through a few tough times.
Fantastic help during the pandemic
Krystal Williams is by far the most competent and respectful therapist I have every dealt with. Office staff are amazing and very accommodating!
I would never recommend this office. After being prescribed medication and running out on a Friday - They did not return my pharmacy request, they did not return my call and going on day 5 of no medication now say I need to see one of their doctors again to get my refill. They failed to mention they no longer took my insurance. I was billed out of pocket.Took a test they said would be $20 then got billed $300 for it. They were not willing to give me an emergency refill so I could get through the weekend. This is a medication that has serious side effects when not taken daily. Disgusted is an understatement. This is the Fuquay Varina office. Zero compassion, zero empathy. Almost to the point of being rude.
Absolutely the best! Staff is friendly and helpful. Wonderful place!
Worst experience ever! I would recommend you never try these people. My daughter has been going to psychiatrists for years for medical management. I thought we would switch to someone closer, but that was the biggest mistake I ever made. Please look elsewhere.
Tried scheduling an appointment with them online. After waiting over a week, they finally call me to schedule an appointment on a Friday at around 2:30 pm. I missed the call and called back not even 5 minutes later and the office was “closed”. I was in dire need of medication and have since gone elsewhere.
I am okay with this place. The one issue I had was when I went it was all about meds and the first med doctor I had would not listen. I suggest that if you go ask for ms.Kris as your med doctor and Mrs.Elise for your therapist so far best for Me and Mrs.Elise likes natural ways of stuff and Ms.Kris listens and only does 1 med at a time and listens well.
I’ve been trying to contact this office to schedule an appointment for three days now. I’ve called at different times during the day, and no one answers the phone. I even left a message and still haven’t heard anything back..
This is an awful practice, run, do not walk, and find a reputable provider-- this is the absolute worst run practice I have ever been to! they do more harm here than good and I will be contacting the NC Med board-- their canned response to contact admin is also useless, left several msgs and have never received a call back, and weeks later still waiting for my records, CMS will also be getting a call about their billing practices, as I am fairly certain that is also as shady as their practice
The worst ever! After my doctor left I was changed to a new dr and have missed my medication for days at a time bc they require you to leave a message on a voicemail that is literally never checked! I was told the first time to call 48 hours in advance did that no meds for 2 days second time told they need 72 hours did that no meds for 3 days! The office manager was supposed to call me back on Monday with information regarding an issue I am having with the dr filling out paperwork it is now Wednesday and I haven’t heard from them at all do not and I repeat do not go to this place google until you find a dr who is more professional and actually cares about patients. This place has gone down hill ever since Hannah left and I have found a new provider at this point! Mental health and medication management is nothing to play around with and it is not taken seriously at this practice.***3 week updateI got a call today(3weeks later) from the practice (not the manager as promised) and the doctor filled out the wrong paperwork...3 months I’ve been trying to get this FMLA form filled out and still no luck So after asking to speak with the manager I’m told that he isn’t even looking at the paperwork before he declines to fill it out!! Once again save your time save your money and make your mental health a priority by NOT going to this practice!
Worst experience ever! The PA I saw initially left and she was really great. My follow-up appointment was with Dr. Matlack. He spent less than 2 minutes with me (literally), but in that 2 mintues agreed to increase the dosage of my medication. He never sent the prescription to my pharmacy and despite me calling him 3 times and my pharmacist calling 3 times, no phone call or prescription and its been 2+ weeks! As a healthcare provider myself, I find this unacceptable. It is irresponsible to leave patients hanging without their prescriptions. I will NOT be going back. Fortunately, my family Nurse Practitioner called in enough pills until I could get in for my physical and she will be prescribing from now on. Clearly NOT Dr. Matlacks Best Day!
Receptionist EXTREMELY RUDE and unprofessional!
I’m not not at all happy with this firm, they take forever to get back to you and push certain drugs I’m not sure if they get kick backs or something my doc pushed and pushed me to switch from Adderall to vivance and did the same to one of my coworkers when I called a week ago to asked to be switched the only thing I get back is why when I tell them why I never get a response back. It have been 4 days now with out meds because my doctor won’t return my calls or messages very poor
Has totally gone downhill. I don’t recommend them to anyone. I have been waiting over a week for a call back about a prescription refill. Needless to say, I need to find another psychiatrist as soon as possible.
Horrible business. We were recommended to use them from our general doctor.. They would never return phone calls (10 of them) / emails / intake forms submitted / 2 faxes. We ended up having to go into the location to which the employees could not be bothered to assist us. In addition to indicating that they have not heard / received anything from us.Do not do business with these people. Their staff are unprofessional and incompetent.
I called at 4:49pm today (Thursday, Nov 29th) someone answered and asked if I would be willimg to jolh, I said yes. I was put on hold for 20 minutes when they hung up on me. Assuming it was accodeacci, I called back and someone answered the phone and a man asked if it was an emergency and I said no, Im just trying to become a new patient and he said that he was the on call therapist and that I should call the office back since they close at 5:30pm. I called back and the phones were turned off and the voice prompt even reiterated the time they close...however... its not even 5:30pm yet...
I first made my appointment here two weeks ago after suffering from depression for years. I saw the PA and she was super sweet and caring. She gave me some samples of Trintellix which, after years of nothing working, miraculously started to show hope. Id never felt hope with any medicine working. I set it up to pick up more samples since the prescription is so pricey, and went to pick them up on a Friday around 2pm, and I didnt know they closed early on Fridays. The after hours operator was helpful enough and paged the doctor, all I had asked for was for the Doctor to just call the prescription in so I could pay for it. I didnt want to go three days without the new medicine that had just started to help. The doctor called and since it was a no-caller ID number, my iPhone didnt ring when she called. She left a voicemail telling me to call the office Monday and there was nothing she could do except for call in a prescription (which is what I told the operator I wanted.) She never called back and never called in a prescription. I called the after hours line back and this time a new operator answered. She kept asking me if I felt my situation was a medication emergency and made it clear that I was irritating her. I only asked for her to ask the doctor if she could call in a prescription, and said I didnt even need a call back. Again, this operator made it sound like this was NOT an emergency that I would go days without the medication, and started her last comment to me on the phone with, AGAIN, Like I SAID BEFORE.. I said, Forget it and I hung up. I came home after work and used the online telemedicine site AMWELL for $49 and got a prescription for my old medication, Wellbutrin in about 15 minutes. It is ridiculous that this on-call doctor that makes 6-figures is so concerned about being bothered that the operators give patients an impossible time about needing something. I wont be returning to this practice and wont be following up, but hey..Im out $275 for absolutely no reason.
This place is great. Wonderful ppl. And staff.
I am so grateful I was referred to Fayetteville Pychiatry Fuquay. My front desk girls and my psychiatrist Mrs.Beitzel are amazing. You really couldnt ask for a better enviorment. These women genuinely care about their patients.I highly recommend this establishment.
I was treated very poorly by Dr and staff. It was also hard to get refills on medications. They were unprofessional and rude.
Right now I am extremely annoyed as my appt was at 10:00 and I am still waiting.
Incompetent, harmful, wrecklessTerrible! The doctor was not available when changing dosagePrescribe but not monitoredNo communication and laugh in your face
They keep putting you on different meds and dont try natural soutlaions
I hate how far they are from Raleigh but other than that they are Fantastic!!
They are best
Excellent care.
