Good selection of products. Generally of good quality. Massive lack of support and assistance. Most employees do not know what they are taking about or do they understand the complicities of DIY. They just lack general knowledge.
This review is specifically for the cabinets/kitchen dept. Karen Miller is such an asset and Lowes is very lucky to have her. She is knowledgeable, dependable and professional. She always goes above and beyond for her customer.
Bought a chest freezer here in the Fall of 14. There were no units visible, other than the demo unit. Asked staff, they checked computer, computer said x-units in stock, told them where to find them. They brought it down front, insisted on wheeling it out and helping me load it up. Told them I was parked quite a distance away and that it was a 53 trailer. They invited me to back into the dock and load it that way. I thanked them for the offer, and wheeled it out on a flat cart, loaded and secured it myself.Just want to say Thanks again, if any of the staff who served me are still there 7 years later, and that the little chest freezer is still going strong.
Very knowledgeable staff. We needed a red flag for the lumber and the front desk was out and a stocker went and searched all the other departments in the store looking for a flag for us! We was very appreciative of all the help from our local Lowes in Front Royal VA!
This lace has been great for having what I need to get my garden going. Accessories, poles, plants, flowers, ect. The workers dont know where any thing is, but I have been able to find about everything except birdhouses.
Great availability of common and uncommon construction materials and tools. They go out of their way to help customers. Highly recommended!

I recently moved to this area with my family and we started to do business with this Lowe’s in Front Royal which I regret it now after spending around 5k in my first month. I wish I could just go back and return everything that I bought in this store because you are not going to receive any dollar from me and my family. I ordered some windows blinds and I went to cancel my order because I wanted to have my window blinds cordless and the order was placed with cords. I went to get my order cancel with the Customer service and I wanted to place a new order but Lowe’s online prices were different so I went back to the customer service and ask to speak with a Manager but the employee just tried to give me an smart answer so I left the store. Then I received a call from Mark, store manager, and after speaking with him I was going to given them a try but then I received the order to my front door over the weekend and I reach back to him. I asked him to come and get the package back because I did not wanted to wasted my gas and my time but he was not able to get them pick up until the next week. I went today and drop the blinds and I ask to speak with a manager to make sure I handed the blinds him/her and I wanted to speak about the problem I had in the store. Meghan, one manager, walks to the customer service and did not greet me or ask me anything about the order and just ignored me the whole time. She just spoke with the employee who was helping with the return. I talk to her and she did not even turned and look at me or ask anything again I just left the package there and I hope I don’t get any charge for it. I will not spend my money in Lowe’s Front Royal because of Meghan and the employee that did not call a manager when I asked. I never had any issues in fairfax or Sterling. I wish all the employees in Front Royal had the same passion and skills like Jim and his team in the appliances department. I spent like 5 hrs with Jim one day when I was purchasing my appliances and he made me feel welcome.I should have stay with The Home Depot for my projects.
Problem Solved! Excellent service. We placed an online order for home delivery. We called the store and Kaitlyn helped us with scheduling and replacing out of stock items with ones that were in stock so our order would go through. Lowes has one dedicated person to organize order fulfillment; Kaitlyn is professional and helpful. We will be back.
OK lets get it out of the way...its a great store but the amount of products and the choices they have are to damn confusing. Then when u need help the workers are just as confused as you are by the time they start looking for what u need also. Need to simplify it down some. Why do we need 200 types of the same nail or screw. Why do we need 500 choices of caulk or adhesive when they all do the same thing...yes i know they vary from each one and their uses but look at the categories of that and tell me you dont get frustrated trying to pick one out that will work best for ur need. The workers for most part are smart and know the store and products. Only other complaint is the prices are starting to get out of hand...I only want to do a simple home project not build a temple or castle for a millionaire lol smh

Very POORLY managed store...When empty cant get carts they are using them as extra storageItems are constantly out of stock or on top shelf that needs a fork lift. They had 64 cases of trash bags on top shelf took 55 minutes to get the items down ( please note store was empty )Items are not located where website says they are.Everytime its a huge hassle to get the most basic of items..Cant wait till Home Depot opens up!
You order something online for quick pick up and then you go and have to stand in line because they only have one mother%/*%#! working really

Review is based solely on ability to park overnight. This was probably our third time stopping on the long drive from South Carolina to PA. No problems with panhandlers which has been an issue other places we have stopped in VA. Seems to be a fairly safe place for truckers and RV’ers.

If I couldve given no stars, I wouldve. But to post a review you have to give at least 1 star. We had carpeting installed, and they charged us for things that werent pertinent for the job like removing old carpet we did it ourselves. Charged us for moving furniture, we moved our furniture so we could remove the carpeting. And finally they charged us to haul away said carpeting they removed. We specifically told them there would be no carpeting, to remove or haul before they installed. To much miscommunication. Will not be using Lowes any further for home improvement needs. Better customer service and experience at Home Depot.
The Front Royal Lowes is much better than the one located on Pleasant Valley in Winchester. Associates are willing to help you and the attitudes are so much nicer. I highly recommend this Lowes.

Waited 30 minutes for someone to use forklift for something on a high shelf. They never showed up so we left.
Avoid this store during peak hours and shop early morning or better at night, and especially not on weekends. The management makes no effort to ensure adequate staffing during the peak hours. I stood in the paint line for half an hour to get a quart of basic gray paint because they do not stock ready mixed colors, everything must be mixed. I walked out and went to my local hardware store and it took me less than 5 minutes to get my paint. Support your local hardware stores and make them your first choice. Avoid this place if you think you will need assistance.

This is your average lowes store, overall the store typically has what I am looking for. Most of the employees are knowledgeable enough and the store is in fairly clean condition. They however do not enforce the requirements to have a mask on to enter the store, there are plenty of signs but they will let you shop without one.
Its actually a good place to shop. Im just a Home Depot fan 🙄

It was near closing time and we wanted to purchase a door, but no one was available to help. We ended up picking out the door we wanted, but left without buying it. We will probably end up going to a different location.
I like Lowes better than the other big box hardware stores. Have parking spaces for veterans and give the veterans discount on almost every thing no questions asked.

My wife and I saved for twenty years to buy new doors and windows. Then we purchased from Lowes.Please do not expect any customer service after the sale.They had lots and lots of materials mix ups on their end too.It took months and months to get our new doors.All in all, we spent nearly $20k with Lowes.And we get the sound crickets from Lowes customer service.We have no plans of spending any more money with Lowes.We are very disappointed with Lowes.To say the least.-Chad and Charleen Backstrom

Great place to shop
We ordered and purchased kitchen cabinets, granite, flooring, and appliances from this store for our Kitchen Reno. The project had not even started and it was a hot mess. The Lowes project manager from Indiana never called or emailed us for months so we had no idea what was being coordinated. Contractors were calling us to schedule, yet we didnt know when the cabinets would arrive. Further, about a month in, a Culpepper store employee cancelled several of our kitchen appliances making us lose the sale price on all of the kitchen appliances that we bought them for. When we called Lowes, it took 3.5 hours to get it resolved and we still did not get the original sale price. It also moved our kitchen project another month down the road. In addition, after visiting the Front Royal Lowes store, they told us that they had a 310 area code for our phone number. We dont live in Maryland, we live in Virginia. They then claimed that the project manager was calling that number, yet we never gave them that number. We asked why the contractors had the right number, but the project manager did not. No answer. We just found-out that our cabinets are being delivered in 2 weeks (earlier than we were told when we ordered them), yet we are unable to get a hold of the project manager and no one from this store will return our calls. Since the appliances that were cancelled by a Culpepper employee of Lowes and after spending 3.5 hours on the phone with Lowes Corporate to reorder them (2 calls), those appliances were now being delivered the end of February. So, we were to wait another month for the project and lost the appliances discount from the original sale. So, I spent some hours searching for the appliances that are to be delivered the end of February and found them from other retailers. I cancelled two of the appliances and ordered them from the other retailers. Guess what? They delivered them already and we did not have to wait until the end of February. To say this project has been a disorganized mess is an understatement. Flooring finally went-in after two cancellations, one for their car breaking-down and another because they over-booked. Then the flooring people broke one of our front storm doors and did not fix it. They then didnt have the tools to take-up our floor or finish it so they used some of ours including our cleaning supplies. They also left the flooring garbage in our driveway and told us they would bring a pick-up to get it. We told them they could have the refrigerator so they took the refrigerator but not the flooring garbage. They never removed it. Further, versus mortaring the backer-board down, they left it floating and placed the tile over it. The flooring was uneven and poorly done. We called Lowes but they did nothing about it. So, we contacted a Lowes flooring contractor executive (contractor to Lowes) and they had the floor ripped-up, reinstalled, and the garbage removed. This extended the project another two weeks. We should have gone to another business to accomplish our kitchen renovation. April our kitchen was done, almost 6 months after we paid for everything in full-cash. We spent almost 6 months living out of a small microwave. Anyone looking to redo their kitchens through Lowes, beware!!

Great rug price
Will never shop at lowes again. My wife and I bought a bunch of lumber and building supplies in June to rehab a building. We just finished the project after a medical issue delayed us for a couple of months. We attempted to return 2 sheets of T1-11 plywood which were stored inside and not needed, but were informed they would not issue a return even with a valid reciept because it had been more than 90 days. So we left the unneedeld materials at the store in the customer service area and politely explained that they just lost a customer for life. They didnt bat an eye... Perfect model of how note to treat a customer.

Lowes is a great alternative to HD for somethings. In my opinion this store typically is understaffed, the employees are friendly and willing to help but seem a bit overwhelmed. The store is clean and well stocked just a bit frustrating from this one customers standpoint.
Nice people didnt have the main thing I went for.I hate having to use self check out.I think Ill start boycotting places that dont give me a choice.Im willing to stand in line to avoid those infuriating things. I dont need to bag everything.

Never purchase an appliance from the Front Royal Lowes! Our doorways were damaged when they delivered our refrigerator. When we ordered our dryer and had it delivered it was significantly damaged on the side and needed to be sent back and replaced; the second arrived and was even more badly damaged. We decided to go with a completely different company for the dryer but they were supposed to come and haul away the damaged dryer - they cancelled the pickup without notifying us. In the midst of this whenever we tried to call the store and speak to the Appliances department it took between 20-30 minutes each time to reach an actual person. TAKE YOUR MONEY ELSEWHERE!
Friendly staff and usually has what Im looking for, otherwise they help me in ordering an item so I can pick it up when it comes in. Convenient location and we can get food after were done since the rest of the shopping center has a variety of restaurants.

Awful, purchased a $2600 lawn tractor, engine goes bad with less than 10 hrs, and they basically told me it wasnt their problem and wouldnt help me. Said I have to deal with the manufacturer. Told me they have a 60 day return policy, it was 63 days when it happened. I understand store policies, but to spend that kind of money on a lemon, and basically be told sorry about your luck is terrible.

The one issue I had was addressed with honesty and swift action and technically, it was an issue with a warehouse not this store. I love the staff here and I love this Lowes. Thanks Lowes team for begin one million times better at service than home depot, particularly this location. Great inventory, almost never out of stock. Garden center is awesome and theyll load full palettes right into your truck. Im colorblind and theyve helped me so many more times than I can count. I love you guys and keep up the masterful work!!! My wife calls Lowes in front royal my other wife hahaha

Its a Lowes. Friendly area. Its nice inside. Typical Front Royal employee attitude. I ordered 5 bags of water softner salt...got a text saying it was ready. It was not. Waited 40min for an employee to get the salt and bring it to the front. I could have done it myslef in 10min.
Stocks what I need. Love when you look up an item online it tells what isle and bay number so you can walk right to it. Very friendly staff

This is the worst Lowe’s I’ve ever been to. Just moved to the area & it’s a shame this is the only store around that carries such items. I am remodeling a home and not one time of coming into this Lowe’s does ANY employee know how to help you. Usually they tell you the wrong aisle to go down. Sometimes they look at you and never answer. I’ve told the store manager and his assistant manager each time I’ve been when it’s been horrible. All they say is “we will talk to the associates”. How about training your staff properly or hiring better staff. We moved here from the Gainesville/Haymarket area. Both the Lowe’s in Gainesville & Manassas are WAY better than this one in front royal. I do not understand why people work in a store that they know nothing about what they sell and have zero desire to provide decent customer service. I’m not asking for perfection or anything above just basic decency and general help if need be finding an item.More of the employees walk around the store doing nothing than those who are actually on registers or assisting customers.Thank God for Royal King, I try to go there instead of Lowe’s any chance I can. This store doesn’t seem to care. Maybe they need some competition to make them better when it comes to customer service. I really wish they would be bring a Home Depot out here.
Stopped by to get some mini blinds for my mom. First guy I stopped knew where they was located so I didnt have to walk the store. Nice selection of vlinds. We picked out what we wanted and got out the store. Folks where nice and the store was very clean.

We love Tiffany in this store. Always positive and remembers us. HOURS are wrong for Friday night though. Called at 8:38 and was greeted with a “the store is now closed” message. What? Sounds like a quick way to lose business!
