They honest to God eavesdropped on a conversation I was having in the waiting area with another mother...called me forward and while still in the lobby asked if I was the one that’s a month or so pregnant. Who does that? I had to motion her to the back to keep from talking about it in the open in deeper detail. I had no proof of pregnancy yet they kept me there for well over an hour with my 1 year old to enroll me. Everyone decided to take lunch at the same time and that delayed it even further. The women here make it abundantly clear they don’t care for kids based on their reactions to my wandering 1 year old I was struggling to keep near me while waiting on them. The “counselor” was extremely rude and condescending. The energy in that office was peculiar all around honestly. I’ve been going to the winery office for 3 years and have never had a visit that even slightly resembled this one. Whoever monitors these reviews needs to have these employees undergo some specialized training. They also need to remind them that low-income doesn’t equal uneducated, and if they’re miserable at their jobs, to get into a field they’re better suited for.***also can someone monitor the dirt and grime on the toys in the waiting area? They’re downright filthy.
Everyone at this location is amazing. They are super nice and helpful. And endlessly patient.
The staff at the facility were really professional and very nice to speak to Im very thankful for this organization because it helps new moms and dads make sure kids get good stuff to eat! Thank you WIC
The staff here can be very rude sometimes. They absolutely do NOT know how to talk to children. You would think that people who work with small children would be friendly but the older women who work at this location never smile, never talk kindly to the kids or babies and quiet frankly they seem to be annoyed by the families and children. I once had Alice make a statement about how “it was too bad” that I was no longer breastfeeding my baby while I was barely a few weeks postpartum. I made that choice on my own I certainly did not need her attitude or her judgment on what I do with MY child. Thankfully I wasn’t going through depression or felt guilty about my decision to not nurse but many new moms could feel that way and Alice should have been more professional and supportive but nope she wanted to be rude as always. I will be switching locations. I really hope that WIC will get some newer and YOUNGER women in this office soon. Maybe ones who aren’t menopausal and cranky? It would be nice to get support from women of child baring ages so moms can actually relate to the staff.
