Terrible sewing machine service. It was promised in 2 weeks, on day 21 I called and the said Its up on the repair bench right now What a miracle! Picked up the machine the next day and it was in worse shape than when I dropped it off. The stop motion know was on so tight I couldnt undo it myself so that I could wind a bobbin and had to wait until my husband got home with his stronger hand. Very annoying! The timing was off on the needle/bobbin pass-over, the feeder feet timing was off, the bobbin case was so loose it rattled, the tension was set at 3 when the industry standard is 5. The technicians had no clue as to what they are doing. Picked it up on Friday, by Monday I had dropped it off at Advanced Technical Services and he had it back to me in 4 days, singing like a bird!!!

They have good service reps that were quick to the point with handling an old family sewing machine. Though their choice in machines for sale leaves something to be desired, budget-wise. However, they made a good deal on a new machine that should do well for our needs.

Just called and had a pleasant lady answer. I know Ive been in this store years ago and just wanted to confirm they could check out the repair I need on my sewing machine. She said repairs are lining up and would take 2 weeks to complete. Since so many are sewing these days. Im not surprised by the back up in repairs.

This place is incredible!! Not only do they have a great selection of FABRICS, but they fix sewing machines and host classes. Their sewing machines for the classes are state of the art newish models and the place is spacious, clean and roomy. I took my sewing machine here and they fixed the problem right way, and showed me how to properly use certain aspects of the machine I didnt know about. Thank you Sew & Vac. Definitely recommend coming here!I had an amazing experience here today! Went in to see the selection for they carry and they have so many to offer! I was greeted right away and treated wonderfully! And I just woke up and came to this store dressed in sweats and a t-shirt. Usually going to places especially where you are expected to spend money. Dressed how I was today and being young people automatically judge and think you are just a time waster and can not afford to get stuff so treat you poorly and don’t give great customer service. But here I was treated great and it felt nice! Also, I did not feel pressured to buy anything like a lot of other places like to do. Today I was helped by Susan and she and the rest of the staff were friendly. the owner was also great! Needless to say It was a wonderful experience and I left a happy customer! Thank you Susan for helping me find the right machine and your wonderful customer service!

The staff was all very nice. I have a Bissell carpet cleaner that came back from a one star freind not working. Dont even bother with the other morons. They all say Bissell is too hard to work on. Funny vac n sew had it done fast right and price was great for all that needed done.

I’m so happy I found this shop! Besides excellent customer service, and knowledgeable staff, the shop is superior for a sewing machine/fabric shop. I purchased a new Bernina from them and the educational classes for it seem unparalleled.

How dare this company tell me I cant be in their store when I have a medical condition that prevents me from wearing a mask and they tell me to be outside in 108 degree weather which is also a hinders my condition....... Im filing a complaint.... Its NOT a law for a mask first off... Secondly I HAVE A CONDITION THAT CAN CAUSE ME TO HYPERVENTILATE AND A MASK WILL CAUSE ME TO BLACK OUT...but they dont care.... I would not recommend giving business to them... They have NO signs posted and its like I have the dieses... Very uncomfortable feelingI like that. Im a disabled person and my friend would have taken the mask but I still said I had to wait outside... Due to my breathing issue and heart failure you expected me to stay out in 105 degree weather. How is that helping a customer. Ive gone to ur location for years to have service done ony vacuum... So, offering me a mask would and couldve done more damage to me. Your only a store for profit you DONT CARE ABOUT YOUR CUSTOMERS........ So ur response is invalid... You should have respected my disability instead you made me f3l uncomfortable and like I didnt belong there... So go to hell. I found a better and cheaper Location that provides great service with a smile...

Took machine in for eval and poss repair. Rep spent about 1 minute-gave no indication of problem or poss repair. Per discussion with Bernina-Biz stated my machine needed a board and I did not want to wait—not true my Bernina machine had just been serviced then thread would not stay on hook (proof)Acquired machine is a Quilting/Embroidery machine—I do not quilt or embroider-my credit qualified me for this-unfortunately.This brand new machine in the box had to be serviced by you the first day of only class. Later after it sat I had it serviced as it absolutelywould not run. I have been sewing for over 60 years, had my own Bizand am not expert but know machines.Owner seems to think I am a commercial sewer (not that it matters)and do not want to pay for machine--If you think I would ruin my excellentcredit over this-kidding-no I do not want this machine but I am stuck with it. Previously purchase a gnome yes this machine will sew what you want to sew--had sample of item I was sewing.-ruined machine (prf)My original machine was a Bernina purchase elsewhere!!This isnt just sour grapes but a very unfortunate situationThank you

I originally bought my Baby Lock in 2007 and have been taking it for maintenance since. I have also taken some of the sewing classes offered. Everyone associated with Vac N Sew in Fresno is always very helpful, friendly and knowledgeable, and especially since they have moved into the larger, newer location. I really enjoy going into the store to browse and (normally) buy something or just to get a question answered. The instructors for the classes I took have been first class. My machine maintenance and repairs have always timely and thorough.

Dropped of a friends vacuum cleaner for repair. The service representative, Nick, meet me at the door, carried the vacuum cleaner to the service desk where he immediately began to prepare paperwork. I had him speak to my friend via telephone to complete the request. He explained to her many options that made the service very clear and transparent. Even though I wasnt the one needing service, I felt that he handled her request very professionally. I would recommend Authorized Vac and Sew for services.

I visited today to go see a machine Ive had my eye on for quite some time. Everyone was very welcoming and nice. Veronica took her time showing me the machines features and also took the time to ask questions about my current skill level an sewing needs to make sure it would be a good fit. Overall, its a great shop. I cant wait to go back!

Fabuloius place. Clean, neat, organized and excellant staff. Took one of their embroidery classes, from Trevor AKA Software Florini Guy.. Learned allot. They provided doughnuts in the morning, snacks and lunch. The price was amazing and the education was phenomenal. Trevor was patient and kind, he answered everyones question. Shop had beautiful fabric and threads. Worth the drive and I will be back~

They have no faith in their accessories and only give a three day return. I was not even offered an exchange for the faulty brothers Walker foot. A suggestion that I dropped the part was relayed twice in my attempt to get a fix for this problem. If anyone or business cannot be trusted with a small thing then they cannot be trusted with a larger thing. I will Not be a customer of this business again.

I think this is the worst place to go! The owner is a total rude person! She swears she has the best customer service but heck no she doesn’t. Second I been calling them I want a one on one class and they still don’t book me . Don’t go there!!!

If I could give them zero, I would. I took a sewing machine in for repair. It took a very long time. When I finally got machine back, I tried using it, and they had created an artificial ground. When I called the store to tell them what happened, the guy who I talked to was so rude. How do you KNOW its an artificial ground? Are you an electrician? He spoke to me like I was an idiot. Then said my guarantee was null and void because I had several people try the machine as well, just to make sure it wasnt me. It was like pulling teeth for them to correct their mistake. NEVER again.

Brought my Dyson in for some warranty work and they had it done in about two minutes. Then the technician walked me out to my car! I will definitely make that 50 minute drive to visit again!

They did a great Job fixing the timing on my industrial sewing machine. I was kinda not so sure if they were going to be able to fix it since they mainly specialize in small domestic sewing machines. I will definitely take my industrial sewing machine to them again if another repair is needed. The only reason why I am giving them a 4 star and not a 5 is because they assured me if I took it on Thursday of that particular week that I called them, it would be ready the sameday. When I got there on Thursday morning they said it would not be ready until Friday despite them telling me Thursday same day over the phone. Had to make a 2nd 50 minute trip the next day and no discount or anything was offered for being told wrong. Other than That, this is a great company and staff is very friendly and professional.

Had to order a power cord for my Riccar Vac. On Monday 7/21/14 was told it would be a special order and must be paid first ($48.70). Was told that if it was in local warehouse 3 days but if not it would be 7 days. On Tuesday 7/29/14 I called and was told that special orders normally take 2 weeks (misinformed #1) but they could not verify as they had no tracking number. On Monday 8/4/14 I went in and was told that the computer (tracking number? Misinformed #2) said it would be at the store either tomorrow or Wednesday. On Friday I called and it was not in but they said it would be in today or Monday I requested that if it was not in by Tuesday could I get a refund. They said yes! They called at 4:30 pm and said it was in. I went Saturday morning to pick it up. It appeared to be different than the one I took off (misinformed #3 was never told it would be a complete harness). I was informed that it was a completely new wiring harness. To appease me they said they would install at no charge. After waiting 4 weeks and not being told the truth I did not want them to touch my machine. Went on line and found the correct power cord (after market) for $19.95 – delivery guarantied 3 days. I will not ever do business at this store.

Brought in sewing machine for service or repair. Before even looking the price got higher and higher 175 without even looking to see if i had a problem. I have spent ver 400.00 there on vacum and product. They seem to cater to the hi dollar sales. .by not even trying to smooth things over they instead lost 4 customers. I am the driver for these people. Aside from belonging to two guilds. Bad service is like a tape worm the word spreads.. Having had a large business myself, with money short you can only give better service to compete. They should have never let us out the door without trying to smooth things over. We were willing to listen bit they were too busy and we wanted to talk in private. P.S. last vac repair also not working.

Took a month to repair our vacuum and its still not working.

DONT GO HERE! I should have know better, after reading the reviews, but this shop is so close to my house, I thought I would try it. I brought in an old sewing machine with a non-working bobbin. The tech diagnosed it with broken gears and said it would cost $400 to repair it. (All this happened during the first 3 minutes I was there.) The owner (I think she was the owner) immediately, and I mean immediately, tried to see me a new machine, telling me mine wasnt worth repairing. So, I packed up my machine, took it to Budds Sewing and Vac (on E. Belmont Ave.) and they charged $100 to put in new gears. It works great and I just saved $300. It was definitely worth the effort to drive a few miles and save $300!

AVS is a great shop! They carry a large selection of designer fabrics, sewing, quilting and crafting supplies, and a wide variety of sewing and embroidery machines. They carry Aurifil thread, Creative Grid rulers and many more sewing and quilting notions. There is a wide range of classes offered by experienced instructors.AVS also services and repairs sewing machines, and they sell and service vacuums as well.The staff is friendly and knowledgeable, and they are always willing to help and give advice on any sewing or quilting projects.They have large, comfy classroom spaces, and there is plenty of parking. This shop is well worth a visit!

DO NOT take your vacuum here if youre going to need it any time soon. I took my steam vac in on 01/05/2019, told me there would be a 25.00 service charge to look at it, which I paid. On -1/10/2019 they told me they needed to order parts and it would be about 3 weeks for it to arrive. After following up weekly they just kept telling me it was Bissels fault and that they were unable to track anything. They told me parts would be here on 03/04, got a call a few hours later that it would be ready to pick up that day 02/26. I work swing shift and was unable to go. I just got back from there, 02/27, and still had to wait for it to be ready. I will be writing a review on Bissell as well. Almost 2 months later and the parts they changed are on youtube how to. I could have ordered the parts myself and probably had it in half the time. Save your time and money and youtube your part.

I was already desperate, had searched all over Fresno AND Clovis, they were my last hope. I was disappointed when they told me they were out... out of a part they ALWAYS have... thank u Nick for finding me a single belt, ur a lifesaver!

Took my sewing machine in for a general overhaul and cleaning, not cheap by the way, cost over $100 for the service. Brought the machine home to begin my next project. Three days later, it froze up. Called Vac & Sew to inquire about warranty on services done and I was told that the problem was a new one and they would need to charge me another fee for checking it out. Took the machine to Budds, where I should have gone in the first place, but used Vac & Sew because it was convenient. Any way the machine froze up because it was dry. NO OIL. I was told by Vac&Sew that oiling was included in the general maintenance they performed. Guess some one dropped the ball.

Have been doing business with them when they were on Kings Canyon an just a vacuum parts an repair 1980! Great people!

Wow! There are so many wonderful things happening at AVS - the store is buzzing! My immediate feeling when I walked in was the exciting energy! Machines were being demonstrated, a class was being held, fabric was being cut, people were laughing . . . just a great vibe! They have expanded their fabrics to include many of my favorite modern fabric lines! I, definitely, want a Birthday or Christmas gift certificate from my husband! They have pre-cut bundles which I love - perfect for a lap quilt! I walked into the classroom before a class was to begin, and the instructor said hello, and asked me if I wanted to see what they were going to be working on in class - such a nice thing to do! The quilts that are hanging on the walls are fantastic! I, especially, fell in love with one of them, and had to sign up for the class! They, also, carry Aurifil thread! The customer service cant be beat! They are knowledgeable, fun and so helpful! Its so apparent that they love their jobs which I think reflects so positively on the owners! Quilters, listen up! Go to AVS - you will be so happy you did!

I have been going to AVS for over three years now and have taken a number of classes for embroidery and I purchased my super amazing Elismo embroidery machine here as well. AVS is great because of the never ending circle of classes they bring to their store. This helps people like me to learn great skills, whether it is embroidery, quilting, or just basic sewing skills. AVS ALWAYS has a plethora of great classes and their teachers are AMAZING as well! (They are VERY patient and explain things very well! This is a good thing since Im not the fastest learner when it comes to any kind of sewing LOL ;D ). I have developed over the years many great friendships with the staff, class mates and the teachers. I even buy my vacuum cleaner supplies here because they have just about anything you need for a vacuum, as well as all your sewing needs!!! Thank you to Veronica & Ralph for having such a great place to make new friends and learn fun new sewing techniques!!
