This morning ordered a 16 foot storage container to arrive this morning. Organized and had two handyman helpers here at 7 AM to help move heavy box and furniture into storage container. And also had a friend take the day off from his job to help me out. Then two hours later, I got a random text message from their office stating that they will not be delivering the storage container today and I have rescheduled it for tomorrow morning. Try to call corporate offices and local offices to no avail got stuck in a nightmare corporate phone tree.… So bottom line I had to pay the helpers $200 bucks and they’re not sure if they can come back tomorrow. Not too sure what this local business office and their corporate office is going to do for me… But I know that I am out some money due to their incompetency …definitely not worth it. So never ever use this business.
TERRIBLE! DO NOT USE! I would give negative stars if I could! This company is inept, lacks any kind of communication and has no regard or care for it’s customers. I have over $8k in with this company to ship three containers across the country and twice now it has failed to deliver on the promised day causing me to lose money on the moving help I hired separately, having to scramble at literally -I am not kidding you-the last second to cancel and rebook three separate dates with moving labor. (This happened an hour before the appointed so called delivery time that I found out because again, I Called Them! -and I had to wait over an hour for a call back because they don’t have enough staff) because I called to ask when the container was coming and it was only THEN that they told me it was delayed by 3 days!) They don’t call you to let you know ahead of time if a schedule changes so basically they just don’t show up and don’t even have any apologies. This is the worst experience I have ever had with any company of any kind and I hope people see this review and don’t book with them because you will be so sorry you did! They should be out out of business!
They did not show up with my container within the ETA givin. I had to call and they said that the containers didn’t get delivered to the facility so they were unable to deliver it. Yet they didn’t call to tell me that. They said they could not tell me when it would get delivered. So I am moving across the country and have to have my stuff out of my house and fly out 3 days from then. Worst possible scenario from a place that does this for a business. I was forced to cancel and luckily I was able to get a container from pods on the day before I had to fly out. It also cost me $500 more on top of having less than a day to pack my whole house. Whole thing was a nightmare experience. When I asked if I could get compensation for having to pay extra to another company they said the only compensation I could get was no cancellation fee. Really? Go with PODS, it’s a little more expensive but 100% reliable. Stay away from Pack Rat. It’s not worth the risk.
Here you go guys..a well deserved 1 star review!!! Keep the “amazing” work up!!! I decided that truck drivers and costumers deserve a better understanding of this company policy. As for the truck drivers this company is working very hard toward wasting your time..this way, a job that requires 5-15 min to take/put a container on the trailer here is taking from 2 hours up. I even met here 2 drivers who are here from the day before..yes you heard me right..from the day before to just pick-up containers. And for whoever is asking for order number or load number to pretend that their goal is to “improve” here it is Load#19278.Ohh..by the way..almost forgot... go ahead and work with PODS..I have experience and I can assure you..a 5min job, takes 5min there. Thank me later driver..good luck, and stay safe!!!Update: was taking them a total of 3 whole hours to load 2 containers on a trailer!!! 3 HOURS!!!
I would leave 0 stars if I could, I have never had such a horrible customer service experience. We ordered 2 containers two months prior to our move. Our city (San Francisco) requires permits be ordered by the moving company, not the customer. However, the customer is responsible for posting no parking signage for tow rights 3 days prior to container delivery. I called 1-800-PACKRAT every single day in the two weeks leading to our container delivery to ask about the status of the permits. Every single time I had to wait on hold for at least 30 minutes and speak to a new rep who had no information. It was infuriating. Our case was elevated and I spoke with several different supervisors (a new one each day). Finally, on the day that I needed the permits, I was told that the local site in Benicia was completely unresponsive to calls or emails from the corporate office and had been for days. For reasons I still dont understand, I was told the corporate office is not able to acquire the permits for their customers. NO ONE at corporate followed up with me a single time despite my reaching out to them at least once a day for two weeks, wasting countless hours of my time. So three days before our long-distance move we had no permits or tow rights, and lost all faith in the company to actually follow through on anything. Luckily, Penske still had moving trucks available, and they offered us a discounted price. Because of 1-800-PACKRATs incompetence, we had to drive our own 26 foot moving truck 800 miles and rent a storage unit at our destination which was an additional expense. RUN, dont walk, AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY. Especially if you live in the Bay Area. They have absolutely no regard for their customers.
DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!! We scheduled a delivery for a container on 7/2 for pick up on 7/6. I called 5 days in advance of the delivery to confirm that the container was coming on the 2nd and they assured me it would, on the day of the delivery by noon I hadnt heard anything from the driver so I called the company to confirm and they said yes they will deliver today; shortly after that I received a text message saying the container will not be delivered until July 8th. We have had this scheduled for 2 months and they text us last minute to say they cant deliver until after the scheduled pick up date. We have plane tickets, hotels etc booked and are not even planning on being here on the day they want to drop off the container. I called customer service and all they can say is that they apologize and theres nothing they can do. This is a 3000 mile move from California to Florida. We are literally moving out of our apartment on the 7th and this company put us in a terrible position just a few days before we are scheduled to leave where we dont even know how we are going to get our stuff there. Whatever you do, do NOT use this company if you want reliable, trustworthy service.
I wish I could leave 0 stars! This company is completely incompetent. First, they canceled my reservation for no reason. Then, after talking to Norm (a supervisor) he reassured me they would make it right since they reviewed the recorded call and determined that in no way shape or form did I ever cancel my reservation. Then, on the morning of the delivery of my container Cody (another so called supervisor) called to inform me they were not able to deliver the container since they needed permits for the street. (Mind you this is a move from CA to TX so telling me the morning of scheduled delivery is absolutely mind-blowing!!)I told him I already had the permits taken care of (they were approved, printed and already on the street) and he said that their policy was that the company would have to order them and they take 5 days to acquire. I asked why I wasnt informed earlier and his response was that the employee made a mistake. So the SUPERVISOR Norm that I spoke to wasnt aware of the company policies? WOW!So basically Im writing this review because I hope people do their due diligence and understand why this company has less than a 2 star rating on YELP and BBB. Moving is already super stressful as is, so to trust this company to come through for you is a HUGE RISK. I wish I had done my homework a little better. U-Hual has come to my rescue and was able to deliver 4 containers within 24 hours of ordering. They have my business for life.
>48 hour delay on one of our pods with no communication to us. Then they delivered a full pod full of someone elses belongings, instead of the late empty pod they owed us. Not reliable, do not use - we never will again.Edit to Add: Order number as requested 2187434
They matched a quote I got from a different company. Its hard to get a hold of customer service unless you reach the sales line. Containers are banged up, but the inside looks decent. Plenty of bars to tie things down. The delivery and pick up was a breeze, both drivers were friendly.

James and PackRat made it to where our move was smooth and effortless. I would recommend their services to anyone. Our move was a difficult one, involving multiple states, multiple units, multiple pickuplocations and spanning multiple weeks.James was on top of it every step of the way. I cant say enough good things about this company and especially their Operations Manager, Dallas Hearon. He went way above and beyond what was required to help my business with a challenging situation. The facilities are clean and organized and the contents of your pod truly do stay level when they are moved. I cant recommend them highly enough!
I used them last year and everything went great, no problem. Plan to use again.

At the recommendation of Lowes, I used Pack Rat Storage systems to help with a move across town. Pickup went fine, though it took some finagling to get the dates straightened out with them. Once the container was emptied at the new location, I needed the empty picked up. Calling a couple of times, their phone system is kind of a mess with long hold times and numerous disconnects. Ill do it online I kept saying to myself, but, I forgot my password (and the recovery email ended up in my spam folder) Next thing I know, Im being charged for another months rent, in advance. I fished through my email for the recovery password, scheduled a pickup, and contacted their customer service to see about some sort of credit for the pickup, or something. No help. They pushed me off to their billing department that works very difficult east coast hours. Theyre not empowered to help the customer, just to take their money.In a sense, I paid nearly $600 for a storage unit (that I couldve gotten for $100 offsite anywhere) that was used for less than a month.I would not recommend PackRat to anyone and will definitely be letting Lowes know about how their recommendation is going to cost them ALL of my remodeling business from here on out.

Think over and over before you rent from this company. Hidden fees, refusal of a contract, accounting personnel trying to extort money for services not render.STAY AWAY!!!
