I have been a part of this taekwondo school for more than 10 years now, and it is a place that genuinely feels like home. My brothers and I truly enjoy learning all the skills that come with martial arts. More than the physical mastery, you learn real life lessons about leadership, communication, and personal growth that can be applied anywhere to anything. The instructors here are absolutely amazing and are willing to work with you no matter who you are. It is an incredibly welcoming environment where everyone there will support you on your journey to success. I highly recommend this school for people of all ages: it is a place for all.
My son joined Martial Arts America 10 years ago at age 7. Since then, the MAA family has built him into the disciplined young man he is today. I still remember when Master Brian brought him onto the mats for the first time. His journey here has been transformative from his white belt all the way to his 3rd-degree black belt. Master T, Master Fong, and Master Brian are excellent mentors that are always there for their students and push them to do their best. Every testing, both parents and students are excited to wake up and get or watch their child receive their new belt or stripe. I am confident that my son will excel in college by utilizing the skills that he has learned from Martial Arts America.Thank You Mr. T for your ongoing training and guidance!
The martial arts trainers/masters here do an amazing job teaching martial arts to kids of all ages. They are all good with kids and patient. Their course contents are good as well. The place is clean. There is ample parking as well. It would be even better if they can give us more flexible schedule options though.
I first joined Martial Arts America at the age of 5. I was a shy and timid young girl.I am now 17 and can confidently say that I feel empowered and able to defend myself if it was necessary.Throughout my time here, I have been able to not only build my physical skills but my mental skills. Master T and the other instructors instill the ideals of courtesy, integrity, perseverance, indomitable spirit and victory. They ensure that we are fully prepared for life. And as a young girl heading off to college soon I feel ready.I have learned taekwondo, eskrima and jujitsu here. They offer different branches of martial arts which I completely enjoy. This allows people to understand different styles and always be motivated to learn more. Whenever out with friends, they rely and trust me to be able to protect them. This would not be possible without Martial Arts America. Whenever a student is struggling or feels uncomfortable, Master T, Master Brian and Master Fong take their time, and hold private lessons, to catch the student up to speed. I always feel welcomed and as a part of the family. Everyone here is extremely knowledgeable and a student always feels challenged. The instructors make it their goal to prepare students for success and if not, they teach students how to handle failures and persevere through.Martial Arts America is truly life-changing. I would not be who I am and as confident as I am, without them. I highly recommend this place to everyone.
Words cant express how thankful I am for Martial Arts America. I began my martial arts journey at this school at the age of 5. As a very sensitive and quiet child, my mother believed learning the disciplines of martial arts under the instructions of caring and humble masters would help develop into a more confident person; she was definitely correct. The instructors at Martial Arts America: Master T, Master Brian, and Master Fong are the best in the business. They truly know how to interact with students of all ages, from 5 year olds to adults. These instructors are the most respectable men Ive ever had the opportunity to meet and have not only taught me the ways of Taekwondo, Eskrima, Jiu-Jitsu; but how to be a better person. I was lucky enough to have the opportunity to join the Certified Instructor Training, where I was able to assist the instructors who I grew under, and pass these teachings to new students as well. I am currently 20 years old and college student, and the bond I have with the instructors at Martial Arts America urges me to visit and train as often as I can. I cannot say enough positive remarks about this school and the wonderful people who make it a home for students all over the Bay Area. I urge anyone who is seeking to learn Martial Arts, to develop social and confidence skills, to have a healthy lifestyle, or to meet amazing folk- to check this school out first. Best of luck to you on your Martial Arts journey.
Ive been a student at Martial Arts America under Master Grant Tabuchi for the past eleven years, and have appreciated every minute of it. All of the instructors are amazing at imparting their extensive knowledge in various martial arts. Class sizes are usually the perfect size to promote group activity while allowing for occasional one-on-one help with an instructor.Through my time here, Ive learned taekwondo, eskrima, and jujitsu, three of the most important forms of martial arts. Learning self-defense is paramount here, and Im confident today in my ability to protect myself and others.Master Tabuchi is professional and patient with all of his students, and is able to easily handle larger classes. His experience in the martial arts allows him to give us little tricks and variations on simple techniques to maximize their potency. He emphasizes focus and attention in his teaching and I learn something new in every one of his classes, whether its a new variation on technique or a better way to execute it.Furthermore, Master T shows us the mental/ emotional side of self-defense and taekwondo. Ive learned that the psychological side of martial arts is just as important as the physical side, which I might not have learned in any other dojo.Ive grown a lot as a person since I attended my first class when I was six, and I can attribute a lot of it to this school and the instructors here. As young as I was then, I knew I was learning something special. The first things taught to us weren’t kicks or punches, but rather how to appreciate the tenets of taekwondo: respect for elders, integrity, indomitable spirit.I wholeheartedly recommend Martial Arts America. Master Tabuchi, Mr. Fong, and Mr. Bryan are the best instructors I could ask for, and the overall environment is supportive while remaining challenging. Cheers!
This place is the best. Everyone is very kind and friendly. They are legit, I swear. 👌🏾👍🏾✌🏾️
My daughters have done Tae Kwon Do here for almost a year. The instructors are really great with the kids. I sometimes do Krav Maga here...its a fantastic workout and practical self-defense. Highly recommend!
Amazing teaching style for my child...he loves to kick
There are so many schools in this city, but you should really give this one a try.
