I found that Republic service is reliable. This is the most important thing when I try to get rid of the junks/ trashes.They have 2 free bulk item pickup a year. It’s very critical that the truck shows up for the bulky 6x6x6’ pile that we worked on and moved out with 2 people for the cal king mattress, couch, bed frame … that we normally have no way to get rid of.Really appreciate that Replybluc always showed up on the scheduled days and helped us get rid of them with no misses.

I have spent $2000 on residential dumpsters in the past year. Once again, I am paying $500 for a dumpster and it did not show up!!!! I spent 25 minutes on hold today, for someone to confirm our residential dumpster was coming today. Once again. I took time off from work and no dumpster showed up!!! I am done with this company. Three times. Thousands of dollars for a residential dumpster. And they cannot deliver it.

I moved to a home and it took several weeks for Republic Services to deliver the trash bins, we had to call them every week; somehow we end up with 2 black and 2 blue bins. Now we need Republic Services to pick up the extra blue and black bins and we have called them every week and they always say they will pick them up but no one shows up, its been longer than a month now. I called on Monday and they said they will escalate the issue and also said somebody will call me on Tuesday at the latest but nobody called so far. This is by far the worst company I have done business with.Update review after 3 months: Republic Services didnt show up to pick up the extra bins, we tried for several weeks, so I offered to drop them off at their facility and they agree.Regarding their service, they miss pick ups once in a while, specially the compost waste, service is not reliable

I have been calling this company to address the notices that were left in our bins. Call was from 9 AM to 10:10 AM. No one picks up. Anyway, I do not own the house but rent due to proximity to work. The notice was for not leaving the bins 4 inches from the curb. When we checked the website and all other waste management locations, their websites say to leave the bins against the curb. But we want to follow their rules and with due diligence and so we did. But which one do you guys like? 4 inches away from the curb or against the curb. Seriously, we have other things to take care of. Next time, we received again a notice: this time it said that the carts are too close together. Honestly, due to the neighbor who rents his place as well, his tenants park on the curb right in front of our house and we do not have enough parking space BUT we still distanced the carts so that there will be enough space for the truck arms to pick up the carts. So that day, we did our best to put the bins the farthest we can from the parked car and with enough space still for the garbage truck arms to grab the bins. We didnt know the carts had to be exactly 2 from each other.. We felt defeated. We are not trying to make the garbage collectors life difficult but can you also respect the residents who at least tried to make it work. Weve seen other people who were not exact with their measurements and some have lids that dont close completely, because an average household with 4 family members had to clean which is the point of this. To keep a community healthy and safe by keeping a clean environment. Please dont stress the tenants as well with these notices. Talk to the owner of the house. Thank you. I wish we have the same garbage collectors in Castro Valley or Hayward. They do not mind occasional and unintentional non-conformance because life is not built on rigid sets of measurements. We were a little off by maybe 0.5 on the cart distance. Dont reprimand us for this. This is a hassle. The point is to collect trash whatever way possible and do your work. Everybody takes responsibility so just because we dont have enough space due to a neighbors tenant who doesnt want to give us space since we are renters, women and minority, dont intimidate us and single us out and not collect our trash on the next pickup, or pressure us into talking to a neighbors tenant who is unwelcoming. Do not put blame on the residents/tenants especially when they are responsible tenants who also work hard like you. These things can be easily addressed without having to award us with pink certificates just so we know you are doing your job. WE GET IT. Our yard waste was not even picked up. It was leaves and branches and again, the landlord is responsible for the upkeep of his house but we feel like the tenants have been tasked to do these things regardless and we help too but this is not helpful. I posted a pic. You see the bins of other houses and its touching the sides of each cart, did they get pink notices???? NOOOOOO.. for the simple reason that residents dont try to make your life difficult, sometimes life gets in the way and we barely have time to master the art of perfecting the way of putting the carts in the curb, with exact measurements. Do you want medals or more recognition? You already won a contract from the city!!!Anyway, does anyone know if Republic Services are contracted by the city? I was going to suggest to our city a different company in a city meeting.

Everything about them is bad. They miss pickup dates, they leave trash in the bins, they refuse to pickup anything if the bins are even slightly ajar. Lazy. If I could use a different service I wouldn’t think twice.

Republic actually operates a fraudulent operation in the City of Newark - charging customers for trash pick up that they often skip and lie about call back pick ups. A group of business owners is a Newark Business complex is considering a class action lawsuit. Republic is the worst trash collection service the Tri-City area has ever seen.

Garbage truck blew a hydraulic oil line on the street leaving gallons and gallons of oil running off into the soil. Their mechanic repaired the truck and they both drove off without any attempt to clean up their hazardous spill. Irresponsible and unprofessional!

She serviced a different department that another issue that I needed help in, but she took the initiative to provide exceptional customer service to assist me on getting particular things worked out and back on track for my association.

My re-cycle bin is missing since last 4 week. on garbage pickup day, it was either stolen or it may have slipped in the dumpster truck while emptying. I called them multiple time to get replacement but never got one. I have 4 week of recycle piled up in garage. on 5th week they got me garbage bin instead of re-cycle bin. IMO this is very poorly managed co.

The response to call has been worse in past couple years ... Ive been trying for few weeks to reach out to schedule bulk pickup. No one answers the number provided to call ever - auto message keeps saying other customers are being served... I have hold the line for more than an hour couple of days different times..I sent email to customerfirst4916, no one has replied..It will be good if the bulk pickup calendar is made public from where customers can schedule the pickup.

This is the worst waste management company. I dont understand why Fremont chose them. They dont curb re cycle TV or any electronics. They were constant late for pick up or no show. There were hardly any bulk pick up dates available and when you made an appointment a few weeks down the road they dont show up.

I have tried calling so many times since I have moved into the new place (2 weeks now). There is never anyone who picks the call after 1 hour of hold. This is such a bad experience. Our trash service has not started even after asking 2 weeks before. I also sent 3 emails but there are no replies. We dont even have bins on the property. I wish this customer service was responsible and responded in reasonable timeframe.On call they said email or visit the office. I visited the office and the office was closed (took 1 hour drive). The emails have gone unanswered.

On the phone as we speak. I am basically canceling service from one address and starting on another. You would think this would be an easy thing to do with these guys but they keep putting me on hold without any information of what is going on. So far 48 minutes and still going. Took them 28 minutes just to pick up. I mean @ this point I can train my kids to do a better job. This is ridiculous and their website does not allow you to do anything. Get with the times people.

In the past 4 months, the GREEN can collector has failed to pick up my can 6 (SIX) times! Sometimes he forgets several other green cans for my neighbors. I have called to complain about this, and the company told me, I will let him know and he can pick up your can the next day by 6:00. One person told me to file a complaint and I did. It doesnt seem to have worked. This last time April 16, 2020, he forgot again, so I called to alert the company. She told me he would come by again by 6:00 the next day. He didnt show up. I called again on Friday and the man told me the same story: I will let them know.Out of sheer frustration, I said maybe I should put my cans next to my neighbors so that he wouldnt forget, I was told Dont do that! They may not pick up your can! What a joke. They dont pick it up the regular way. The only other option I have as a paying consumer is to only pay 2/3 of my bill because I only get 2/3 service. I have to wait until Monday now to propose my solution.

Weve recently had poor pick up service. On two separate occasions, our trash and recycling hasnt been picked up in its entirety. Weve had to call multiple times, enduring the long call wait times, to reschedule pick ups and the rescheduled pick ups have still been missed. I really hope their service improves!

Changing review back to 1 star to accurately reflect their level of customer service.Edit: After getting a reply to this review, I was finally contacted by the company who confirmed the pick up date. I am changing my review from 1 star to 3 stars. Obviously, I cannot give 5 stars because customers should not have to go through this much trouble.I requested a bulk pick up on Fri, Nov 29. There was some confusion as to the scheduled date, so I asked them to confirm the scheduled appointment. They refused to answer the question.After asking several times, they simply forwarded me an old email they had sent which does not answer the question at all.If you try to call them, at any time of day, you are told they are experiencing high call volume and have to wait for anywhere from 15 minutes to an hour before someone picks up.The irony is their customer email address contains the words customer first when they clearly put the customer last.

I’ve worked with Republic Services on multiple properties for now as a property manager. The past couple of years their phone hold time has been ridiculously bad. The website and account services is limited when needing to address needs or order other services. As a result, you need to call the same number everyone has to call. When you call they usually put you on a 30-45 min hold. Then sometimes they need to transfer you to another department which can be another 30 min hold. The worst is when they accidentally hang up on you while trying to transfer you. Either hire more employees in the call center, or provide more online request services.

Dont believe they deserve such a low rating. For residential service there hasnt been an interruption and they even come on some holidays over the course of 15 years for us. Bulk pickups have always been on time, garbage is almost never spilled. Putting down 5 stars, its not all bad.

So my garbage bins were taken by the driver on 5/27/2020. No note no notice. I called about 5 times on 5/27/20 for almost an hour hold for all 5, no one answered. I sent an email, no response. I was like okay maybe they will respond on 5/28/20, i did another 4 phone calls. Was on hold for 45 minutes each time. Of course no one answered. Then on the last call i was holding for an hour and it cut off. Please bring my trash cans back. You guyz took 2 and left one behind. Does not make sense. This review is my last resort to get a resolution. I just dont understand why the driver just takes the bins! Why!!!!! Its frustrating. Where do i put the garbage. I can leave in bags but obviously they won’t take it.

Republic Services is extremely consistent when it comes to raising their rates, every year, by three percent, rain or shine. And thats their only corporate concern: to take your money and not necessarily your trash, green waste and recyclables, on time, on the correct day, without the driver signed off already for the day excuses.

Service detoriated in last one year. They dont answer phone for hours, multiple trials needed. Their apps dont work, as announced on answering message. Either customer service team or technical team are faking to customers. Their pickup drivers are still doing good job.

Drivers destroyed my recycling container -- crushed the sides until they broke open. I continued using it, carefully, but stuff was still leaking out the sides (paper, glass, cardboard, etc.) and making a mess that the drivers were just leaving in the street. Two weeks ago, I pulled into my court and the driver was sitting there in his truck on the phone. My container was gone. The driver explained he had to take my container because it was too badly broken, and I asked when I would get a replacement. Ill try to make it happen today! he said. I called it in, so someone, maybe me, will bring you a new one. A week went by. No new container. I called the main office and they told me that Id get a new one on the next recycling day. Spoke to the driver when he got to my street, and no, he didnt know anything about it. My neighbors have graciously said I could use their containers if there is any room, but Im paying my fair share for MY container, so thats not the way it should work. Will give them one more chance to make good on their promise.

Missed pickup for my recycling 5 days ago. Submitted ticket for missed pickup and yet no followup at all.Called multiple times and wait time exceeds 30 minutes every single time. The one time i finally got through and speak with someone i was told pickup will happen today at 3-4pm. Still waiting and still no truck in sight.I am still on the phone waiting for a customer rep as I type this review.Seriously Republic response and wait time need to be substantially improved.**Update**After getting through to someone after waiting another half an hour. I was told pickup will take place between 6 and 6 today. I noted i have a slight overflow (lid is about few inches open) due to accumulating 11 days worth of recycling and was concerned about the incoming rain so wanted to nail down the pickup time frame. Then was told we cannot be guaranteed to have the recycling collected by the crew if there is overflow. Seriously? The reason for my overflow is due to a missed pickup, and all other recycle services i have dealt with in previous locations, picks up a slight overflow and neatly bundled cardboard. In my case I never overflow or put extra stuff in my recycle except in this case. The customer rep was helpful but limited in what she can do. She noted as a favor they have requested extra bag to be reycled on Friday... why Friday? I requested to note the overflow to the supervisor in charge of recycling for my pickup today, then was patched to a voicemail and left a message and have not heard back.**update**Well my recycling was picked up, but look at the mess left behind. By the way these are NOT trash from our townhome complex. The lift arm was stuck when lifting the recycling bins and these are what came out after the arm was cleared of debris. I guess it is too much to expect to clean up the mess.

This service is the worst service I have other had. The hold times are 30-45 minute. They hang up on you and do NOT take care of business that has been scheduled. I was scheduled for a can pickup. Called to make sure that it would be taken care of the day before it was scheduled. Republic services claim that I was on the schedule. The cans were not picked up and I was out of town and unaware. Other companies I deal with due to my occupation are far far better. They need to be replacd!

The two stars are for the nice phone representatives. If it wasn’t for the phone reps I’d give zero stars for the service. Phone wait times are long (on hold 40+ minutes for most of my calls. There is an issue with my garbage and recycling which has not been resolved in over a two week span. The reps are trying everything on their end, but can’t seem to fix the issue. Supervisors are hard to contact. I don’t know why I am getting charged for a service that’s not being provided to me.

Moved to Newark, and been living here three weeks.In that time Ive reached out twice via E-Mail and 3 times via phone to get service started.Both e-mails were responded to with the exact questions I had to fill out in the first place for the response form - with no follow up. Ditto on the phone calls.So now I have three weeks worth of trash and recycling built up.Does this company not want customers? This is absurd.Edit: Made another call after this and service may have actually been set up. Will find out on Monday.

Areas can be improved:1. I first filled online request form asking for bulk pick up instructions and did not get any email reply.2. Called a week later getting standard message 15-min wait, scheduled pickup. All instructions I got was to limit size to 6x6x6 feet and curb side location.3. One box was over 150lbs, did not get picked up. Called again, a different agent, this time I got the PDF instructions in email. Scheduled 2nd time pick up .....Everything can be taken care of in above item 1. Saves everyones time!

Didnt know it was possible to screw up trash collection so badly. I wish I could fine Republic Services every time they decide not to take the garbage. The cost for the service is ridiculous considering they refuse to pick up anything that isnt in the bin even when arranged according to their absurd requirements.edit: just following up on my minimum star review which cant be zero, it rained a little so they didnt pick up my garbage. Worst customer service I have ever seen! This company should be shutdown. I was blamed by customer service for someone dumping into my recycling bin and left it overflowing. Then after scheduling them to come back and empty it, still hasnt been done this was 4 days now! I think Im going to start taking my recycling to their office and dump it on their property and say oh well its your problem not mine, since this is their attitude!Update... The gentleman by the name of Jim was very empathetic and understanding of the situation I had. He got in contact with the dispatch supervisor and worked out a solution and I got my recycling picked up 😁. I hope republic services gets more customer service members like him so I am changing my rating to a 4

I have never had any trouble with Republic Services. The gentleman that drives our route is friendly with our son, who loves garbage trucks, and always makes sure the cans are left standing whenever possible. When I call, the operators are helpful and I usually schedule two free bulky pick ups each year which have always gone smoothly. I recently tried their hazardous waste drop off and it was incredibly easy. I pulled in, stayed in my car, they took out my old paint cans, light bulbs and expired medications and I left. Easy!

For three weeks, Ive been trying to get my green bin picked up. They pick up the blue and gray ones but not the green one.... its now REALLY full. I let it go the first week. Second week went by and they still didnt touch it. I called as soon as I came home and noticed it and they said it would be done the next day. It wasnt. I called again and this time they said well the order had been put in for Monday. Today is Monday and it still isnt picked up. I asked for a deduction from my bill and they said no because I didnt call the first week. If I knew of a dependable competitor I would be SO gone!

Every time Ive called and I called about four times, I had to wait over an hour. Three of those times was so that they could pick up a cart they left behind when they were changing all the carts to new ones, supposedly because they ran out of space in their truck. Appointments were made for some one to come and pick up the cart. Each time, they never showed up.

If there is a zero or negative star rating I would use them to better describe how I feel about their ‘customer service’ and the company. Extremely unfriendly, arrogant and stupid. You have to repeat your answers to their questions many times in order to get them going on something and still no guarantee the outcome will satisfy your lowest expection. Dealt with them several times and every time I felt like I was dealing with creatures from outer space.

From time to time they do not collect my yard waste!! because Yard waste is too full - because THEY didnt empty itThe Mow and Blow comes every other week and adds more; because of un-emptied trash bin. From the weeks before when Allied Waste Refused or Missed the can to empty. {repetitive to illustrate a point}I believe this is to be more of the Drivers then the company. Called to have garbage can replaced because they broke the lid off when picking up our garbage. Then they told us we had to wait a week for the new one on our next garbage day. So they did exchange garbage cans but they took my neighbors perfectly good can and left ours which still had the lid hanging off clearly not right. Mind you our can was sitting right next to our neighbors and obvious that ours was the broken one. Then when I called to complain the girl I spoke with just laughed and thought it was funny. Now we have to wait another week to get the new can and in the mean time is collecting water from the rain.

Please read edit below: changed my review based on customer service replyWas on hold for over 50 minutes for a queue. Got to a representative and they put me on hold for 30 minutes for a missed pickup. Then they just hang up....EDITED REVIEW: On third call they did address my issue. Now waiting on the compost bin to be picked up.

Started a new service with request to pick up extra trash. They asked us to bag the extra trash and leave it at the curbside which we did. Not only they DID NOT pick up the extra trash but when I called to ask, the representative was rude and completley useless.

The guys who pick up the trash leave the place in total disarray. Often trash cans are on the ground. Recently, I found the lid of my trash can broken. And I dont think I should be the one calling and getting it replaced. When these guys see that they have broken it, it is their job to make a note of it and inform their office so that it can be replaced the following week.Anyway, this is not the first time that I am reporting this. Until now I have wasted my time calling them and informing them about this. It seemed to get better for a while but not anymore.

TERRIBLE service. Had a driver actually scream and yell at my husband. Called the office to complain and they couldnt care less. It would be AWESOME if we had an alternative. How difficult is it to pick up garbage? Definitely not the brightest bunch thats for sure.

We used Republic as required by the City as they have a contract with them. Several times they have not picked up and we have had to call the company. We are told they are short handed. Sorry, but we paid for our service. Pick ups are mandatory as our trash can get really full.

We are a business. Several of our neighbors and us did not have service for the past two weeks. Garbage piles up but she tells me they would only collect whats in the can. How about stuff that they didnt pick up for two weeks? nothing. we pay them to collect our garbage they charge us but they dont provide any service. horrible experience. I guess this is what happens with monopoly

Bad service, I call only 5 mins later because I dont have full info to request the new dumpster, and the lady on the phone told me the department closed at 4:30 pm while 5 mins ago another staff was abt to accept my request. I would go for another dumpster service company if Fremont has more than one!!

25-45 minute wait times on every phone call...oil and scratches left in my driveway from a dumpster delivery...all staff are overworked and are constantly in a rush taking shortcuts...they are the only bad part about living in Newark and are absolutely horrible

Just moved to the area this last week and got my trash service going first thing. Yesterday during their pickup they took my trash barrels away, claiming the former owners of the house had put in a cancellation order. My neighbor pleaded with them, trying to tell them that Id just moved in, but the driver wouldnt bother to listen or reconsider his actions.I asked them to bring the trash barrels back ASAP, and the girl on the phone merely suggested I just leave my trash bags in the garage (cause that wont smell or anything) or the side of the house (you know, to attract the critters). Says Weve done all we can do, but well give you a couple extra trash bags and bring them back next week.Tried to get a hold of a supervisor and have not received a call back. When youre a public utility and the only game in town you can pretty much get away with treating people like this. Not like I can go anywhere else.

I had a bulk pick-up and they left a mess when they left. I had some small Items and a shower door and 1 dual pain window. They did pick up all the stuff but they left a big mess for me to clean up. How hard can it be to put the trash in the truck push a button and its crushed. It will take me longer to clean the mess then it did to put the stuff out for pick-up. I called Customer Service and got this very bad excuse for service. The drivers are not responsible for any messes left as they need to make other stops is this a B.S. excuse or what.
