This is the second time we have hired Petersons flooring to do a replacement because the first time was done perfectly. Their team is very professional and the quality of workmanship is worth every penny. The first time, we had luxury vinyl wood done in our basement and it came off looking as good as hardwood. The second time (this most recent project), we had them remove old carpeting from our family room and install the same hardwood into that space. Not only did it transform the look of the space, they did a phoenomenal job of reducing creaky sounds in that section of flooring. We would absolutely hire them again for future projects.

What a difference! I needed carpet to sell my house and had planned on just letting new buyer select with an allowance. But got a quote from Peterson’s. They gave me a great quote and a beautiful carpet in 2 weeks. The carpet installers are very professional and worked to make sure each room was done properly.It changed the entire look and smell of the house. Didnt purchase here, they seemed to be satisfied that they had been in business so long and lost the idea of good customer relations. Although there was one employee that seemed to get it right, when I was returning samples he came to my assistance quickly. I sometimes think I come to a conclusion to quickly but when returning samples another couple couldnt get out fast enough do to how they were delt with. I would suggest shopping around.

My wife and I just moved to Frederick recently and had Petersens redo the flooring in our entire house. They were responsive and professional and their installation team was great. There was some intricate scrolling to be done around the fireplace, and the results are magnificent!

I visited Petersens on Jan 18, 2021 to price luxury vinyl flooring. After reviewing the selections, I went to the front desk to ask for assistance. The person who I was directed to said that he was leaving in 10 minutes (this was at 2:20 pm), and it was quite obvious he did not want to assist us. When we were asking for advice and pricing, he literally told us that we would be better served going to Lowes or Floor and Decor down in Gaithersburg. The reason why we visited your showroom is because weve done business with you guys for many years (and numerous projects) and want to support a small local business.Well, we took his advice and went to Lowes, where we had excellent service. I was terribly disappointed that a repeat customer could be treated so poorly and dismissively, and I do wonder how many times customers are referred to other stores.Very dissatisfied, but left 2 stars as I had better experiences before.### UPDATE ###Gail Peterson called me direct to discuss the issue. Although my experience wasnt great, The follow up was. I was given an explanation (salesperson had an obligation), and, unfortunately, he simply didnt have enough time to provide.I sincerely appreciate and respect that the business reached out to me directly. Although I have went elsewhere, in the future, I will still consider them for my business. I raised this to three stars to reflect.

Almost a perfect experience! Id have to say I enjoyed the installation better than the sale of the process, only because my installer came in and recommended a completely different style of installation AND had me pick the color of stitching I wanted for the edges of the carpet runner. The color choice would have definitely been easier ahead of time. The runner came out absolutely perfect and matches our front door. We will definitely be using Petersens again for our next project in 2019.

Petersens recently completed another job for us - one of many over the last 11 years. They have installed hardwood flooring throughout the entire first floor of our house, carpeting on the second floor, and a kitchen backsplash in 2009, tiled a new bathroom and installed carpeting for a newly finished basement in 2016, and just recently a new kitchen backsplash. Obviously Petersens is our go to for all of our flooring and tile needs. Weve never had a complaint with their work, helpful, friendly, professional staff and installers. Cannot say enough good things about them. Dependable and trustworthy.

After having a abhorrent experience with a competitor I reached out to Petersens Carpet and & Flooring (by suggestion of a very close friend). Gayle (and Sarah) were very patient and honest with me during the entire process of my indecision through to the completion of the job. I am very pleased with the quality and appearance of the flooring, My floors look wonderful!

The estimate was accurate and professional. It was for my mothers home after she passed away so we could sell it. Home Depot charged for the estimate and these guys did it for free. They came in about $100 less than home depot for a slighter nicer carpet. The big difference was the installation which was PERFECT. The workmanship was A+ and nice guys too. I try to support local family owned companies. These folks are great and I will be using them again. Good price and A++ quality.

Excellent work by Petersens putting down engineered wood floors in our entire townhouse. They are beautiful and we are very pleased with workmanship. The installers were efficient, respectful and kept our place very clean during their work. Also, the process of getting an estimate and receiving options and info during the quote process was very helpful. Excellent job and a perfect finished project. They feathered in perfectly in the spaces where the walls were removed, the pickled oak really brightens up this darker space. Plus they came back to make sure all the thresholds were done to our satisfaction. We trusted them to do the work while we were on vacation. They were professional and responsible. I would use them again for any future projects.

Petersons has always been our first and only choice for carpet in Frederick. We have owned several rental properties there and have used them exclusively many times. They are friendly, prompt, and honest people. You may find carpet cheaper in the area but you get what you pay for and excellent service and quality is worth every penny.

Petersen’s did all the new carpet and flooring in my house TEN YEARS ago, and it still looks amazing. Mr. Petersen is very knowledgeable and gave me a frank and workable solution for my leaking shower wall. Work was done well including refinishing the wood floor damaged by the leak. Had to wait a long time for the tile to come in.

They told us about the risks and options if we didnt like what we found under existing floor. I felt like their only customer during the process. Darren was the tech who did the work and he was diligent, conscientious. He cleaned up each night and made sure we had minimum disruption. He also provided consult re: stains and products. The whole process was a painless as possible. Wonderful organization to work with. I highly recommend. We absolutely love our floors.

It was a pleasure working with Petersens. Our salesman, Denny was knowledgeable and very helpful in all our choices. We not only had a hardwood floor installed, but had three floors refinished and new carpeting on the stairs and upstairs hallway. Each set of installers were great to work with, and got the job done pretty close to schedule considering we had a nasty surprise in one bedroom and wound up having a whole new floor replaced instead of refinished because of previous water damage. They fit us into their schedule immediately even with the extensive repair (new sub floor as well in spots). AND I dont think they over charged considering what they did. I loved the service start to finish.

Petersen’s recently installed carpet on a set of stairs at our house. The job required 120sqft of carpet and I was told, by a Petersen’s employee, that we would need 120sqft of padding to cover the stairs and the risers. On the day of the installation, padding was only used on the steps and a landing (approximately 60sqft), but not the risers. When I questioned why I was charged for more padding then needed, I was told, by the owner, “you got a good deal”. I told her it didn’t feel like a good deal since I was being charged for materials I did not need. The owner proceeded to blame me for not asking more questions when I received the quote. In the end, I was over charged for materials I did not need nor did I receive the excess. The words and tone in which I was spoken to, by the owner, were not those of a person who values her customers. I chose Petersen’s because I wanted to support a small business rather than a large box store. I will continue to support small businesses but will NEVER purchase flooring from Petersen’s again.
