Scott academy offers many martial styles within the Chen Pan Ling curriculum. This only costs $30 for a weekly private lesson plus Saturday group class (once safe to do so). At other schools, group lessons are the norm with an occasional private lesson for more money. And at other schools, learning more than just taijiquan may cost additional fees. Also, there is no requirement to buy a school uniform. Just wear what is comfortable and inoffensive. Due to the private lesson structure, you choose what you want to study. Overall, I am extremely pleased I found this school.
Grand Master John Scott is an internationally known and respected leader and practitioner in the Martial Arts community.... Bruce Lee said .. 95% of martial Arts schools were B.S in his time of fame... maybe it hasnt changed much since then...But.. if you want to be in the top 5%..and are willing to work for it.. the Scott Academy is capable and ready.. to show you the way.. why settle for less...when you can get the best....
There is no better teacher to learn martial arts from than Shifu John. We are blessed to have such a knowledgeable and humble teacher right at our doorstep in Frederick.
My kids have been students here for many years. They have gained confidence in themselves along with being shown respect to themselves and others. I highly recommend Scotts Academy of martial arts.
Shifu John Scott is a true master of the martial arts. More than that, he also a caring, committed and exemplary teacher - someone who inspires through example as well as teaching. There are few human beings on the planet as genuine and dedicated to their craft and helping others. I’m proud to have trained with Shifu John Scott and advise prospective students to look no further: you have found your home with him.
Sifu John Scott is one of the best martial arts teachers that I’ve had during my time practicing the art. He is funny, knowledgeable, and helpful in his teaching. While I am not a student at this time due to COVID, I plan to return once this is all over. I have still much to learn and his lessons are excellent.
I highly recommend Scotts Academy of martial arts to anyone who is looking for a humble, highly skilled and patient martial art teacher.
I have studied martial arts for over 35 years, all over the US, and in other countries (Japan, Korea). Shifu Scotts school is the best I have attended. The material is of the highest quality, the instructor (Shifu Scott) is compassionate, incredibly well skilled, and amazingly knowledgeable. Very literally - having lived for several years in Frederick, MD and Dumfries, VA - there are NO schools within traveling distance as high quality as the Scott Academy of Martial Arts. This is a school you do not pass up training in.
Sifu Scott is a wonderful, patient, dedicated teacher. Hes all about teaching the arts without the frills.
Sifu John is an exceptional instructor with extensive knowledge of the Chen Pan Ling system as well as other martial arts.
My son started taking KungFu at Scott Academy of Martial Arts 7 years ago at the age of 22. My son is autistic, so of course I needed to make sure that we chose the right place for him. Well needless to say, we did. From the moment we met John we knew that Scott Academy was the right place. John previously worked with other children with disabilities or had special needs. This was comforting. He knows how to talk to my son so he understands. He is very patient and takes the time to really teach him KungFu skills that provides my son a strong foundation not only in health and fitness, but empowers a stronger mind which has benefited every aspect of my sons life. KungFu not only has taught my son self defense, it has also taught him to be loyal, kind, generous, strong, honorable, and to never give up. My son became a Disciple because he loves KungFu so much. He looks up to John as a person and a Master teacher. My son says he wants to be a Master teacher like John.My son and I highly recommend Scott Academy of Martial Arts! You wont be disappointed.
I learned a lot from Sifu John, hes an easy going guy that has a lifetime of knowledge to share about the arts. Hes very up front about what is and isnt acceptable behavior, and as long as you play by the rules youll always be welcome at his little hidden gem.
John is a great and patient teacher. He has a lot of knowledge on the martial arts.
Grandmaster Scott, is a person who gives his all, he is family and a friend, without people like him, who can lead us when time is needed
