Positive: Very quiet motel in a safe neighborhood. Staff is very friendly. I loved my stay there. Negative: No microwave in the room, but not the end of the world.

Positive: Clean, nice room. Negative: Night construction outside my window. Could hear the guest above me walk around at 3am. For the amount I paid I expected better sleep.

Positive: I liked that the staff was there if we needed them, but also they minded there business. Werent all up in mine. Negative: I just didnt like that for the snacks and vending they only accepted card. No cash.

Positive: Convenient location Negative: Poor value for cost. Bed seemed old, sheets didn¿t fit bed and slipped off corners. There were stains on the towels. Housekeeping doesn¿t come daily because of COVID. Other hotels are still doing this. I¿m shocked of the high rating.

This place used to be at Courtyard by Marriott it is now Sonesta Select. A little more modern looking inside beds were comfortable and clean. A little pricey at ~$200 a night.

Positive: Check in was fast and  the agent was great and very accommodating I brought my service animal and he put us on the first floor so I could walk the dog easily and he gave us a beautiful room right by the pool. Negative: Covid is over and I was very surprised that the bar lounge downstairs was not open and the restaurant so we always had to leave to get something to eat and drink

This is a great property and a great location. And Jenny who I’ve known for a bit is great too. However, all of these aspects are holdovers from when this was the Courtyard by Marriott. I have stayed here before and after the switch and I have to honestly say I regret that it is now run by Sonesta instead of Marriott. But overall a decent place

The pool was nice and clean. The room was nice. We found out when we got there that there is no housekeeping daily for occupied rooms right now. If you need anything extra like towels then you have to call the front desk. The shower pressure was nice and the water was hot. The room temp only goes down to 65 degrees but the room will stay at 66. We were too warm throughout the night to the point where we woke up multiple times and the a/c would not come on. Its also kinda out of the way if youre wanting to go to Anaheim or Buena park. The front desk staff was always nice.

Ok the rooms were nice, clean and beds were good but the staff! We were unable to check in until 5:30 on a Monday because the rooms werent ready. When we were checking in the lady at the front desk totally ignored us.Other employees were rude. One lady told us to shush while we were walking by her office on our way out. We were pushing our cart of luggage! Its a nice place but the staff needs training in customer service!!To shush a group of sober, over 50 years old women was totally uncalled for!!!

Positive: Location Negative: The room was facing East, with the bed facing East too. During sunrise there was no shades on the window that you could close to protect you from the sunlight.

We placed a reservation online with a chime debit card. Got here an hour drive and was denied because they only accept “major credit cards”. Chime is a real bank, not a pre paid card. We get paid through chime, we pay bills, everything thru it. I’m disappointed, because we were able to hold a reservation online with the chime card. I don’t use major bank cards because I don’t like all the fees.Anyways I really wanted to stay… just be aware they don’t accept chime or cash.👎🏽

Nice hotel. Was having surgery and needed a place for a few days before checking into the hospital. Around 4:30am a strange couple we new threw my sister had began calling my phone as well and having the front desk call me extremely early. They were definitely not pleasant people as they continued thier harassment blowing up my phone until we were finally woken up. At which time I asked them to leave.. A few hours later the hospital called and asked to reschedule surgery for the following. I didnt think thered be a problem so I booked my room again the third party that I did the time prior with the same credit card and my husband went to the front to extend I stay for one more night. He took the same credit card he had run the first time and was denied saying they did not take State cards. In which time his response was you took it two days ago oh, its a Bank of America credit card, so whats the problem with it now. If youre going to honor it the first time why wouldnt you the second? we were never made aware any problem with any cards when we first arrived. What really happened was they were made aware of guessed we did not invite, nor did we really even know, other than seeing them on occasion around my sister. And they stereotyped us and judged us on people we didnt know nor did we invite. The credit card was just an easier way of saying we dont want you or your apparent kind here so youre going to have to leave, mind you Im in a walker barely able to get around Im preparing myself for a huge surgery we were basically thrown out, are reservations canceled and sent on our way to find and book a new hotel last minute and not knowing the area whatsoever. Needless to say we ended up having to sleep in our car the night before my surgery because the prices are so high when booking last-minute rather than doing it the right way and booking ahead of time like we had done before. Thanks a lot Sonesta select Huntington Beach, I cant even share with you the tremendous amount of pain I was in after spending the night with my hips Smash in a car rather than stretched and up above my heart the way theyre supposed to be before surgery! You really dropped the ball this time and we will not be back...

The services they offered were very outstanding, and every department in the hotel performed an outstanding job. I was sorely missing their cuisine.

Positive: The sofa added to the room was convenient Negative: Hallways smelled so bad! lock on door kept jamming every time I left it would take forever to close the door. Stains on the bedding. Stayed three nights and front desk person gave attitude when asking for more towels. Motel vibe for sure!

I wish I could give no stars but its fine. They state that they sanitize said rooms but I dont believe it. Simple room, nothing special. Nice shower thats all I could say. But we did find someone elses, or whoever was there before us, we found your socks. Found the bag behind the chair in the photo. Disgusting and dishonest. My advice, check all around before bringing your things in. Front desk women are all very nice tho.

For the price this is a great find. I was hesitant based on some of the reviews but we had a great three night stay in June 2021. Staff was friendly and responsive, room was clean and they have been updated. Will stay again.

Need that one night stop or more, this is the place. Friendly people, very quiet, the beds are comfortable and the best thing, blackout curtains. You may have to pay a few extra dollars than the place you stopped before but its worth it.Dont forget to stop by the front desk for that 12am ice cream craving.

Clean room, friendly staff. Whoever cleaned my room took my nice jacket and sweater that I left in the closet. I called to ask about it and they said they found nothing. I know for a fact where the jacket was and noticed I forgot it immediately when the Lyft dropped me off. Good stay overall, really sucks to have my good clothes stolen by people who work there though.

Negative: TV took over 3 minutes to load Netflix on 3 tries without success, same with other streaming channels, same with premium channels. We called the front desk to ask if there was an issue but they seemed uninterested in a solution so we watched our tablet

The rooms are well-kept, spacious, and tidy, and the service is excellent. I came here to unwind and spend some time alone. As I remained here, I felt relieved.

The customer service was iffy. You can save $10 off of you have AAA, but you have to make sure to call on your own. Front desk won’t accommodate.The room smelled like URINE. We called to get another room; which also smelled like urine. Would not advise! YIKES

Staff needs some training in customer service. Also, you guys need to change your filters out for your AC. We pulled them out and they have mold all over them. People can get really sick from that!

Along with left over food in the fridge.. the front desk girl was sweet & accommodating. Prob wont stay at the courtyard ever again but I do however like the Marriott residence rooms, much nicer & worth your buck on the other side.

My boyfriend and I booked a room online for an overnight trip (were both 20!) And when we arrived to the hotel, the woman refused to allow us in to stay because we arent 21.... then the woman tried to say we wouldnt get a refund, and only when pressed she would give us one. Utterly rude woman at the desk!

Very big rooms, stayed only 1 night, was at the Beaches

We recently booked through this hotel, but after 7 hours of traveling, we were told we couldn’t stay here due to the new COVID order since we were there for leisure. We were then stranded with our 9 month old baby without anywhere to stay. The staff turned us away without any sort of notification stating that the covid order that went into affect the night before had affected our stay. We luckily got our refund back but no other compensation was given for the inconvenience. I really wish they would have notified us BEFORE traveling since the COVID order had only gone into place the night before our check in.

Clean good hotel. Typical courtyard. Service was good. Wish they would provide free bottled water in the room. Instead they have a $4 bottled water.

Love this hotel. Its in really convenient good location / next to freeway but not really noisy /. Good area, while on a prime street, surroundings east of it are all very residential. Staff is very friendly and accommodating, very polite. Very clean and they keep pool area nice and.clean. Quiet too, mostly business travelers, so you wont see, thank goodness, screaming kids running around!

The reception team of a man called Mario and another lady I can’t recall her name were unfriendly, i asked for a room change and they didn’t help at all, while seeing many available rooms ( having the closed sanitized sign sign which means the room is available )

I fully understand the issues with Covid but not having coffee available in the morning seems harsh.

We stayed here for one night for Surf City Marathon in early February and it seems like a great place to stay. Its located right off 405 freeway making it convenient to travel around town. It seem like this hotel is renovated; common areas were modern and nicely decorated, the rooms were clean with sparkling clean restrooms with nice glass door shower booth. Front desk staffs were nice accommodating with good vibe in general. First floor rooms have patio style sliding doors that leads to the swimming pool in the center of the property which makes it great choice for family with kids who would want to go for swimming. The only thing that kind of bothered my was that the hotel was not fully renovated. It still had popcorn ceilings and sliding doors were not replaced etc. And sound proofing was not as good as we heard from next door rooms and upper floor banging throughout the evening we stayed. Other than that, this is a good choice to stay.

The rollout bed in my suite was terrible. My back still hurts. The pool had leaves and bugs. Stains in the room. Friendly service, but overall, I didn’t like the place.

Pool closes way to early and opens to late and got our order wrong.

Had a nice stay. The gentleman that checked us in was super friendly, courteous and helpful. The room is a decent size with a little couch. Looks like rooms were recently semi-renovated. New wallpaper and some furnishings. A fair deal for the price.

This is a pretty nice place I like it alot its got a good setting and its kept pretty clean the bathrooms are well-kept also. The staff seems to be pretty friendly and knowledgeable.I like the location theres things to do around the area and its really nice.

After having a terrible experience elsewhere, this place was very nice and friendly. Front desk employees were wonderful as well as other employees. Reasonable federal employee price. My room was very big and the bathroom was spacious. room was very comfortable, with full living area, bedroom and bathroom. The sheets and towels were very soft, and the bed was very comfortable to sleep in. I would highly recommend this place :)

The room itself was fairly nice but my husband and I were woke up 3 different times by guests outside because they were yelling and screaming and having a car show outside and the management did nothing. Very DISSATISFIED with the general manager. Id rather stay at a motel then this place. At least I know what I pay for.

Great hotel for the price. Easy access to Huntington Beach. Inexpensive for parking at only $8/night. Beds are comfy, pool is fun. The only thing I wish is that theyd upgrade their TVs. They are a bit small and outdated. But other than that, I had a wonderful experience and would stay there again.

Very helpful staff. We had an issue with air conditioning in the room and they quickly found a room across the hall for an easy move.The A/C problem is an issue with the layout of furniture in the room, so it can happen in any room, but they did what they could to assist.Good food in the Bistro at reasonable prices. Great staff.

The desk clerk insisted on charging me $10 for parking even though I have an ADA/handicap pass . They did not charge me last time I stayed here for the same reason (approx 6 months ago) but the desk clerk said theyve been doing this for 3 years. So thats either a screw up or a lie. Dont like either one. And no microwave in the room which I found suprising.

Nice space and pleasant common areas. Nicely updated rooms. Happy hour prices only a dollar off and many premium charges for normal services. Coffee in the lobby is an extra charge. Parking available. No hot tub.

Not the best place around first thing I found when I got into my room was a dead cockroach and the bed is very uncomfortable and the pillows are not good either great location but Im only going to stay for one night then find a different hotel

Loved this place. I slept great, the breakfast was good and mid day they have a social gathering of food and spirits! There’s a grill for anyone, just ask front for grilling utensils! Staff was very polite! And the rooms are clean with kitchen. But they lied about being s room for four. And they said our bed was a king but it was not

For a reasonable price I got a large room with its own kitchen. The hotel room, lobby, and the grounds were well kept up. Definitely recommend it!

Hotel is clean and spacious. Front desk employee was not welcoming. We had two rooms, and asked for 2 Queen beds. When we got to the rooms they were both one king. Went back to get at least one bed changed. Employee was sitting in the back with his feet on the desk. I finally had to knock on the counter to get him to come out and help. He was very put out I asked for a room change, and said it was the last room they had. It felt like a very large lie. The hotel is empty. 10 cars in the parking lot and no one coming and going. Although, the staff was unaccommodating, he just needs to be retrained. Still 4 stars for cleanliness and accessibility.

We arranged for a company meeting here with only 6 people. Great meeting room with whiteboard available. WiFi is fast, room was clean, and staff were very helpful. The rate was also very reasonable for the meeting, no parking fee unless youre parking overnight, and when our meeting ran long, the staff said there was no problem for us to stay longer so long we didnt have an overnight meeting. Will definitely consider having future meetings and events here again.

Staff was very nice and professional. Our room could have been just a little cleaner. There was soap residue on the shower curtain - not from a guest but from cleaning given the location. Place is very easy to get around nicely situated around the pool and courtyard. Parking was convenient if not free. Hotel location also well placed though yoh can only access the complex from a single driveway off the one street despite it being on a corner.

Centrally located next to the 405 for easy freeway access. Close to restaurants. Staff is friendly and room was clean.

The location of the Courtyard Huntington Beach/Fountain Valley is ideal. Great freeway and airport access, as well as being only a couple miles from the beach and its mild weather. The staff is pleasant and professional. I cant think of a negative thing to say, besides the unavoidable traffic, but thats not there fault. I recommend this location without reservation....

This gets a three because of the chairs in rooms are so uncomfortable. We had a suite, should have stayed in a two queen room only. Sofa makes a pull out sleeper, so deep you cannot get comfortable sitting.Laying on the beds is not how I want to enjoy my room. Lose the rounded high arm chairs so guest can be comfortable .

We got there around 11pm and went straight to the room. First strike: the TV was broken. Second strike: a housekeeper knocked on our door, repeatedly for no reason before 8am. Third strike: when we mention these complaints to the front desk, they blew us off. 2 stars because the hotel was lovely and the bed was comfy but the lack of customer service ruined the experience.

The hotel is located in a convenient location off 405 freeway. Staff is friendly. Room is nice with convenient, plenty of parking. However, we thought the bed was too soft and made it rough to sleep.

Only good thing was the cleaning staff and gym. Here are the negatives: Parking for an open, unsecured lot is gauging in my opinion. One of the 2 tvs only had 5 channels and no guide and the TVs werent HD. Food is overpriced and not good-also got my food order wrong. Not their fault but they had a flood and fire trucks had to come while we waited outside for the property to be cleared. I wont be back.

Stayed at this location while I was in town of a work trip. Had a pleasant experience while here. When I got back to Florida I realized I left a pair of my pants in my hotel room. I called and spoke with Kerry on the phone and she was more than helpful in assisting me and making sure my pants get back to me!
