Its a great store. So friendly. Nice and clean. Feels very charming. All it needs is an old soda bar or fountain bar and itd be great.

We had been to 4 different Ace hardwares between Peoria and Fountain Hills on our way to our property up north and this was the only one that carried what we needed. Thank You.. we will be back!

The people at Pauls Ace Hardware are the best. All wearing masks!My pool service tried raising $ and service was average. The Ace folks where great setting me up/testing my water and less expensive then the pool store! They have all the standard stuff. If I need specialty items I can go across the street and get them.

I go here all the time as its sort of the only hardware store in town. Not a bad thing though because this ACE is great! While ACE might be the cheapest and may not always have everything, the staff here more than makes up for that! They are always happy and friendly from the cashiers at checkout to the the guys in the hardware department. I always enjoy my visits here!

Today I went to Pauls Hardware as I was thinking they would be closed at 5:00 today with the Governors new order. To my surprise they will not be closing and they are not adhering to the 6 feet for the social distancing. They could if they re- arranged the check out lines in the front of the store without the serpentine line (which would not be hard to do) and used the register in the back of the store too. The cashiers are not being protected from shoppers either. One foot away without Plexiglas between the cashier and shopper is not enough. They are allowing an employee to greet and stand right in front by the door when entered.  As you have to get around them, you are only 1 foot away or closer to another person entering or exiting the store. Clear the first 20 feet in diameter of entering the store so people can safely get in and out with a 6ft distance. At this time a greeter is not necessary at all. If the Governor is allowing you to stay open then you need to make sure youre not going to be part of the problem with the virus spreading.

Id rather shop here than the big box stores

The store manager had no idea how an order online and pickup at store works. After the webpage confirmed that the items were available immediately for pickup at this store, the store manager informed me that the items would need to come from Illinois on a truck :-) He checked his inventory and confirmed he does not carry them. I then walked around the aisles, found the items and cancelled the online order

For this review Im just going to list why Im so happy with them.They helped me find what I need without being annoying.The store is full of all kinds of cool merchandise. You can look around without feeling like they are watching you. Paul’s Ace Hardware in Fountain Hills is my favorite store, they have everything you need. All their staff are great & very helpful. Just recently I had a problem with something I bought when I first moved here in 2017, JD was very helpful & replaced the item for me. There is something to be said about shopping local. Paul’s is the place for me.

Ive been shopping here since 2011. The employees have been very helpful, and they dont act like they just started working there yesterday. They are knowledgeable and friendly. Ive never had to wait long for help, and they do their best to resolve my issues without up-selling me. Their prices are fair for the most part. Glad they are in our town!

I love Paul’s ace hardware, It has a little bit of everything and a lot of things that places like Home Depot do not.

This place closes too early. When I have projects at home I’m working on, it’s always later in the evening. And for some reason, this ace hardware closes at 7. Come on. Live in the now. I know fountain hills is full of old people that go to bed by 7, but there are some people that would really appreciate you closing at say 8 or 9. Thanks for reading.

I would be lost without Pauls Ace Hardware in Fountain Hills. I am a project person and it is nice to be able to run over to Ace if I need anything. The amount of money I save in gas, not driving into Scottsdale or Mesa, and the wear and tear on my vehicle certainly offsets the prices. Besides, they pricematch anything.

The customer service here is always excellent and I find it is usually adequately stocks with knowledgeable employees who are more than happy to help you find what you are looking for. Yes, the prices are a bit more but the service and gas you save from having to drive across the mountains to Scottsdale make up for it, especially if you arent buying the whole store. You also wont have to worry about getting lost in a cavernous warehouse.

Huge store, plenty of cashiers and friendly help. Could have stayed in outdoor grill section for an hour. Clean, well stocked. Military discount. Ģood shopping experience.

Always friendly staff, well-stocked...almost never need a trip to Home Depot, quick to call an extra CSR if the line is growing, most employees working the floor can assist in any department. I’ve been a customer of this store for a number of years and noticed that many employees have long tenures...says something about the ownership, the employees, their training and how they’re treated. New employees endeavor to remember customers’ names. Bottom line - a nice place to do business.

New to Fountain Hills, glad I discovered Ace Hardware. Very friendly, helpful staff. If they dont have it, they will try to get it for you. Higher prices than Lowes or Home Depot, but then, Lowes and Home Depot arent in Founatin Hills.

There were lots of associates on the floor, however only one asked if we needed help and he told us where he thought what we were looking for was located and he was wrong so we wandered and found another associate, asked him and he at least walked us over to where he knew it was. The check out experience was great though. Very friendly and they helped recommend a good lunch spot.

Very disappointed today. My card accidentally declined at the check out. The cashier must have said the word declined at least 3 times in a loud manner to where all customer around me, noticed. It was embarrassing, I asked to run the card again to what she repeated that it had been declined. I responded I was well aware of the fact and I had enough funds in my account, it had to be a mistake. Finally ran my card once again and it went through. I didnt receive an apology from the cashier. Then I called management after living the store only to be on hold for 15 minutes, so I gave up. Thats why you are getting 2 stars, for poor customer service, next time Im ordering from Amazon, not worth the drive and aggravation. P.S.: several items werent priced, and no one on the sales floor offer me any help despite noticing my presence.

I am so glad to have an Ace Hardware in Fountain Hills. The customer service is excellent. Their prices might be a bit higher but I am always getting coupons via email and if I had to drive 20 minutes to the nearest Home Depot Id be wasting gas and my time.

Average store for hardware but a lot of the staff should be retired. Several older guys attempted to help with a plumbing issue, most was clueless and even had a problem finding the correct isle. Dont bother going here if its of a technical nature you will be lucky to get the right isle. I even drove to Home Depot and they were worse. As a last resort tried another Ace hardware in Paradise and got perfect service from a very knowledgable guy who had been a plumber for 30 yrs. Thats the type of employee to hire, someone who has knowledge and trade experience not someone who,s just padding their pension and looking for something to do.

The employees live up to their slogan, Ace is the place with the helpful hardware man.. Theyre always willing to answer questions or help customers find something.

2 stars for being the only source of construction materials out here in the boondocks. However, be prepared for some heavy duty price gouging. These people clearly know that they are the only source of construction materials in the boondocks. I buy this stuff 6 days a week at Home Depot and Lowes and I know what it usually costs. The GFCI outlet I needed cost about $4 more than Home Depot, the in use weather cover was $3 more, and the box was nearly double. Expect to pay about 130% of what stuff costs in town.

Its a rare occasion that I take the time to write a review. That being said, this is the single most terrible business I have ever had the misfortune of dealing with. Ive never seen a group of elderly employees show such unparalleled unity in making the customer feel unwelcome. I understand that every retail outlet has the occasional grump, but this store will make you feel like a nuisance almost immediately.Throughout multiple visits, Ive never been pointed towards an item without a rude whats it for or why? This, of course, is presuming they even acknowledge your existence. The prices paint a crisp picture of failing business and low customer retention. If these little outlets expect to compete with the likes of Home Depot and Menards, I would strongly suggest a review of customer service 101.

We just moved to Fountain Hills and Ive been to Pauls Ace Hdwr at least 10 times. Cant say enough good about the staff. Today the young man in plumbing took me right to the place I needed. I showed him the pictures I took of the parts under the sink I needed to replace and he loaded me up with everything I needed. I told him he seemed very knowledgeable and he said hed been a professional plumber for 11 years before moving to FH. Last Friday I went in to buy an extendable dryer vent box. The fellow who helped me saw there were none on the rack, went to check the computer, found that it had been delivered that morning but was still in the tote and asked me to come back at 1pm when everything from the truck would be out in the store. Just as promised, the item was now hanging in its place. I wont comment on prices, because as the only game in town they can charge pretty much what they want, but every trip they save me to Lowes in Scottsdale is at least $5 gas money in my pocket plus the time saved. In the past week I have not had to travel to Lowes even once, which I find pretty amazing since Ive been buying some pretty unusual stuff. So Pauls gets my vote. PS - I have not met a single grumpy employee in all my visits. And I have no connection to the store other than a new FH homeowner and customer.
